Kwon's Restaurant has the reputation in the food industry just like Roger Federer in tennis, Tyra Banks in modeling, and Homer Simpson in The Simpson. You cannot call yourself a foodie if you never heard of Kwon's or had their food. Also, if you complain about the prices going up, you are probably the people complaining the gas prices fluctuating. With that being said, EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING served at Kwon's is better than other fried rice place. I've been a loyal customer since 88 but they have opened their doors since 83. My favorite is their #28 (shrimp, neef, chicken, & pork) fried rice & lo me In. This is THE BEST! I have cravings of this and dream about it as well! Service, food quality, ambiance are all rated 5 stars. Nothing beats Kwon's since they know what they are doing. Thank you for always serving the greatest fried rice! read more

What happened to their fried rice?! I used to drive all the way from Riverside and was willing to risk my life at their shady location to pick up a couple of boxes of their delicious shrimp fried rice. It USED to be the best fast food Chinese fried rice EVER! The flavor used to be so unique and distinctively delicious. Now it's just bland and regular fried rice that you can get from any fast food place. So disappointed. Come on Kwon's! Go back to your original recipe, this new rice is just a big disappointment. read more

Got side dishes of orange chicken and of teriyaki beef/chicken. Both were very good portion sizes for the price. Teriyaki dish was nice...a bit too saucy though. I would not recommend the orange chicken though! There wasn't much meat inside the deep fried outer layer, and the meat wasn't even very good in it. read more

I came in for Friday lunch with the family. Ordered three plates: #30 fried rice, orange chicken, and chicken/shrimp chow mein. The order was done soon enough, but what came with the meal was what made this a horrible experience. About a quarter way through, I noticed a dead cockroach sitting in the middle of my plate of fried rice. Obviously we were disgusted and promptly asked for our money back. This was not without a little pushback from one of the staff members who didn't seem to appreciate the situation. We were reimbursed and got out. Unless you enjoy your meals crawling with insects, I suggest you avoid Kwon's. read more

I was really craving Chinese food today and wanted to go somewhere nearby. Yelped some places and found this gem! Being honest, it doesn't look like much outside or in but the food is GREAT! Huge portions for such a nice price! I got shrimp and beef fried rice (picture attached) to go and it was about $8 excluding tax. What I got was definitely enough for two meals. If you do have limited time though I'd suggest either calling ahead or just going when you have ample time because there can be a bit of wait depending on how many people are there. This was the second time I've ever been here to this restaurant my daughter recommended me to come I ordered a combo fried rice without pork when I get there after 30 minutes of my order they still did not have the order right so I had to sit there for another for another freaking 15-20 minutes for them to get it right and then when I get home the rice was hard like they gave me Old Rice you full of s*** I will never f****** go back there that's f***** up we gave me f****** hard as uncooked rice never will I go back there never will I ever recommend anyone to go back there they suckers for the neighborhood I'm pissed read more

Been here twice. Neither time have I been able to see the hype. First trip was about 3+ years ago and I got the chicken fried rice which was flavorless and required significant dousings of chili sauce to taste like I was eating anything other that just a brick of rice. Second trip was last Saturday and we ordered the chicken lo mein, the chicken and vegetable fried rice, and a pint of the teriyaki beef. To its credit, the teriyaki beef was pretty good. The other two were the same bland disappointment that I remembered years ago, but this time including a hair as well! Given the B health score, the hair, and the fact that they are consistently unimpressive, I wouldn't recommend going here unless you really want a 4lb box of tasteless food for cheap. read more

It's like your local dive bar at Kwon's - well hidden, run down and small inside. However they have a bigger menu, delicious food and they take a leap towards being unique than being like other Asian places to eat. The food is served in bulk, and you are satisfied with every bite. I highly recommend the lo mien, which is really good with any meat you choose. I find their broccoli and beef served fresh and full of flavor. I highly recommend it as well. My only issue with this place is there are a lot of bums and hookers walking around but it's quality of food keeps me coming back. Another issue is it is really small inside so if they have a full house you are waiting for a spot to open up to eat. Nonetheless, it's good stuff! Enjoy read more

After reading so many great reviews on here my boys and I decided to check it out. Well maybe I expected a lot more because we felt like the food was just OK. We ordered the veggie chow mein, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and egg rolls. My favorite was the chow mein, it had an interesting flavor that can be addictive to me lol. My absolute least fave was the teriyaki chicken. It tasted OK, but it was crunchy. I didn't like that. Also, the portions were a lot smaller than I imagined. Given that a lot of people are on here raving about how big the portions are. But there were 3 of us, so maybe that's the problem? Anyway, I would definitely come back if I were in a hurry or craving that chow mein. Otherwise, I would prefer to drive to our favorite spot in San Dimas. read more

Let's start off with it's a little hole in the wall. I probably would have never tried this place but someone had picked it up and tried it served at a family members house. So it's not a place I would sit and have dinner with the family, but that being said... It's the best fried rice I've EVER had. I live in Ontario and I do make the drive just for the rice. We usually have the shrimp and veggie fried rice and its the best. Hit all around, my kids love it as well even if we get veggie fried rice. If you've thought about trying this place stop thinking about it and go. One tip, call ahead and they'll have it ready to pick up and go. read more
