After a long drive back from Utah, we decided to order Kwon's for dinner. Our 2 picks were #68: shrimp, chicken, beef and pork chow mein and #5 chicken fried rice. I can never get over how HUGE the portions are. So delicious and totally hit the spot. We've got enough food leftover for lunch tomorrow. Not sure if this place uses MSG but I didn't get a headache from my dinner and I'm usually sensitive to MSG. Order the Chicken Fried Rice and ask for Teriyaki Sauce on top! Sure, they have Teriyaki Chicken on the menu, but the rice underneath is plain. This way you get the best of both for about the same price. As a college student on a tight budget, Kwon's is one of the few restaurants I can justify eating out at. For $5 and change I get 2-3 meals, it reheats quite well and as long as you get extra hot sauce on the side for leftovers it's just as good. Did I mention the chili sauce? It resembles Indonesian Sambal Oelek but they add something extra to it. Me and my friends think it tastes slightly of jalapeno. Either way it's amazing, and I wouldn't dream of putting Sriracha or any other sauce on their rice. If they sold this stuff by the bottle I'd probably start buying it! read more

My cousin went by to bring me and my family food. He brought us fried rice and chow mein. The food looked amazing and smelled so good! This place is praised for its fried rice. The portions are large, and it comes with this spicy chile sauce, that gives just the right kick to it. I can see why people would crave it. However, everything else that I've tried on the menu isn't great. And I've tried quite a few dishes (I used to live just down the street) After eating here I feel like I need to wash my face (seriously). The food is that greasy. I have memories of long fat glistening noodles weighed down with chunks of meat. You get three bites in and you literally feel heavier. it's mediocre food here. I don't have a problem eating at hole's in the wall. they're usually diamond's in the rough. but this place just isn't. The food is edible, but to say it's delicious, or even tasty would be telling a lie. it's greasy and most of it tastes like burnt oil. the prices are alright, but I can hit McDonald's for the value menu and eat better. read more

The food is really really good, we order the chicken fried rice with extra green onions and bean sprouts. My favorite dish here! Its such a huge portion, it easily feeds 4 to 5 people. aw man... i didn't want to give it less than five stars. i'm a guy who loves fried rice. LOVES IT. i've been on the lookout for a place that serves some awesome fried rice. so when i accidentally stumbled across this place and noticed that it had 5 stars on yelp and people were claiming that it had the best fried rice... i knew i had to go there. it was hard to find, i have a gps system but i still passed it and had to make a u-turn. it does look very ghetto with the sign "restuarant" in front... as well as the whole general area. but that doesn't really matter... its all about the fried rice... it came quickly and good lord there's a lot of it. i'm thinking that it could probably feed four people with regular appetites. and it's cheap too! the item i ordered (beef fried rice) was $5.50. but now the bad news. bean sprouts. i don't hate em, but i don't like them either. i ordered the beef fried rice and it was pretty bland. i also got a couple of clumps of rice, the kind that you normally get from the bottom of the pot. i'm not going to say that i didn't like it but i've definitely had better fried rice from places like banana bay, coconut bay, noodle world (which apparently is now thai world) and several other places. yes, i've only eaten here once but what can i say, it didn't impress me. i may come back here again in the future to give it a second chance... until then, the quest for the perfect fried rice continues... read more

I'm a little hesitant about paying for only fried rice, or chow mein. but hey...this place does it pretty well. I like how the fried rice tastes crunchy and it has really good smoky flavor to it. The chow mein is great too. Their orange chicken they cook fresh, so fresh that it actually crunches when you bite into it. For some reason I always thought orange chicken was soggy. I guess I had no idea that you could make fresh orange chicken that crunches to the bite. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the hot sauce. Look, quantity over quality ain't the way to go, my friends! I have given Kwon's several chances, mostly because I love their eggrolls. However, enough is enough! The fried rice is super greasy and the chicken dishes are totally lacking in flavor. The shrimp they use in their chop suey and chow mein is really salty and I suspect they are salting it to cover up the lack of freshness. I've been coming to Kwon's for years thanks to the quality of food and great customer service.

This place was horrible. The food was gross, I should've save my money. It's a reason they have a B rating and not an A. The meat tasted bland and looked discolored. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, but the quality is poor. I had to poor a bunch of soy sauce on the food just so I could stomach it. Wish I would've canceled the order. This spot has to be one of my all time favorite places for take out. It's seriously SO good. Their fried rice and chow mein are my absolute favorite. Their food pricing is very affordable; one large order of the fried rice is able to feed my family of seven for two meals. They're super nice and I have never had any hassle with ordering.
