Had an amazing experience. I know it's Vegas and it's full of great restaurants and this one fits that criteria. Food was as delicious as it looked. Short Rib is definitely the way to go and the Sweet Potato was the show stopper. Delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Great ambiance and drinks were phenomenal. If you're in the area, give it a chance!
For my recent one night stay at Fontainebleu, I chose this restaurant over Don's Prime for dinner. The restaurants are situated adjacent to each other on the ground level; Mother Wolf is also here. While Don's Prime is a classic steakhouse, Kyu, which has 2 other locations in the US, serves Asian fusion with some wood-fired items. The restaurant is very attractive, with a glassed-in open kitchen, large windows looking out to the Strip, a vertical garden wall (real or fake?). The menu offers dishes influenced by several Asian countries. They have a tasting menu of sorts called The Kyu Experience, which is what I went with. There was some confusion as to what dishes come with the Experience. Apparently parties of 2 or more get 7 plates. I was a solo diner, so only got 5 plates, and not all the ones the waiter said I would get. Still, it was a decent introduction to the menu. Here's what I received: Krunchy Kale. Flash fried kale served with a bracingly acidic nam prik dipping sauce. Tasty, but greasy and a bit salty. Used the dipping sauce sparingly because of its mouth-puckering qualities. Tuna Crispy Rice. One piece of a classic starter. Their version was fine, but the crispy rice leaned more towards hard vs crispy, a common fate with this dish. Korean Fried Chicken. I would have probably ordered this dish if I had gone a la carte; I like to try different versions when it's offered. Kyu's version was a fried thigh and breast with the sauce on the bottom with some braised spinach. The chicken alone was decently fried and crispy, but the sauce was MUCH too spicy for me! I ended up just eating the chicken. The KFC I like has some sweetness to it along with the savory and (some) spice. This one only had heat. It was the second misfire on KFC for me on this Vegas trip. The KFC at ZIppy's had almost no flavout (or sweetness) and was hard to boot. Stone Pot Thai Fried Rice. The best dish of the meal. This was the vegetarian version with requisite egg on top mixed in tableside. The rice had great flavour and lots of crispy edges from the stone pot, which is what you want. It reminded me of the rice I had at Best Friend at the Park MGM, but that one had less crispy edges and more tartness from the kimchi , expected since it's a Korean place. Pork Belly Bao Bun. A now ubiquitous dish, perhaps made famous by David Chang (Momofuku). Kyu's version was fine. I was also given a dessert, a tiramisu bao, which was nice. I ordered the Coconut Cream Spinach a la carte because I was curious. It was unique and decent. I put the spinach from the chicken in this dish to soften the spiciness. Should I return, I'd want to try the cauliflower (which I thought I was going to get with the Experience) and the duck or short rib. But I also want to try Don's Prime.
The Kyu Experience dinner at Kyu for 2. Starters: Krunchy Kale(crunchy yet light and not overly greasy, nam prik sauce was light and citrus), Tuna Crispy Rice (tuna was good and the crispy rice was hot and crunchy), Roasted Cauliflower (goat cheese shishito herb vinaigrette was creamy and a good balance without making the dish too heavy. Main: Prime Brisket (tender moist thick cuts with various sauces and salt, wasabi, etc. to bring out different flavor profiles and lettuce so you can enjoy them as lettuce wraps), Korean Fried Chicken (juicy chicken with a crunchy exterior, the chili butter sauce is fairly spicy so small dips were perfect), Thai Rice Stone Pot with King Crab (great flavor, blended crunchy rice brings great consistency to the dish), Japanese Sweet Potato (perfectly cooked sweet potato so even the peel is delicious, the buttered black sugar is good but the Parmesan cheese can be overpowering if too much in a bite). Dessert: Tiramisu Bao (light tiramisu flavor, moist cake layer and cookie, glob of caramel in the middle) Overall, great showcase of some of their main dishes. Probably enough food for 4 so we had quite a bit of leftovers.
A Flawless Date Night at KYU - Fontainebleau Las Vegas! If you're looking for the perfect date night spot in Vegas -- where modern elegance meets smoky, Asian-inspired flavor -- KYU is it! From the moment we walked in, the vibe, food, and service were all absolutely on point. Every dish felt thoughtful, every drink was crafted to perfection, and the entire experience had that magical "Vegas energy" -- upscale but still warm and welcoming. Our Full KYU Experience Date night with my boyfriend -- and as always, his restaurant picks never miss! This time he chose KYU, inside the gorgeous Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and honestly... he nailed it. This was one of those meals where everything -- from the design to the dessert -- just hit perfectly. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere drew us in. The entrance is lined with sleek wooden panels that glow softly, setting a warm, earthy tone. You can smell that faint, mouthwatering wood-fired aroma before you even walk in. Once inside, you're immediately greeted by a lively, stylish bar scene buzzing with energy. To the left is the hostess stand, where the staff greeted us with smiles and led us to our table. Tip: Make a reservation! We booked ours for 5 PM, which was ideal -- not too crowded, with that early-evening calm before the dinner rush. We were seated at Table 56, and I swear it's the best view in the house. From there, we could see the entire restaurant the ambient glow from those dreamy chandeliers that resemble floating lily pads. The lighting was perfectly moody yet bright enough to read the menu (and take a few food pics, of course!). Our server, Bryan, was exceptional -- friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the menu. KYU is pronounced like the letter "Q." His recommendations were spot-on all night, and his timing was flawless -- attentive without ever hovering. The menu itself was beautifully curated -- not too long, easy to navigate, and filled with unique options. The cocktail list immediately caught my eye, full of creative mixes and tropical twists. I started with the Roshi's Island, a Thai basil watermelon mojito. Bryan said it's a fan favorite, and he wasn't kidding -- light, refreshing, and bursting with fresh watermelon flavor. For my second drink, I switched to a non-alcoholic Hibiscus Cooler -- tangy, floral, and perfectly chilled. It was the perfect way to stay cool as dinner heated up. For starters, we ordered the Avocado Salad and the Grilled Octopus. The salad was so fresh and vibrant -- creamy avocado, crisp greens, and just the right citrusy kick. I could've easily eaten another one. The octopus was tender, smoky, and seasoned to perfection -- one of the best I've had anywhere, honestly. Then came the main event -- and wow. We shared the Thai Rice Stone Pot with King Crab, the Filet Mignon, and the Beef Short Rib. Every single bite was bursting with flavor. The stone pot came sizzling hot, packed with delicious textures and that amazing crab richness. The filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the short rib had that deep, slow-cooked flavor that just makes you close your eyes and sigh. For sides, we had the Grilled Broccoli and the Japanese Sweet Potato. The broccoli had that perfect smoky char, and the sweet potato -- oh my goodness -- had these subtle vanilla notes that made it almost dessert-like. Total comfort food heaven. Speaking of dessert -- the grand finale was unforgettable. My boyfriend went all in with the Dark Chocolate S'mores Cake topped with banana-bourbon ice cream, and let's just say he didn't leave a crumb. I stole a few bites and instantly fell in love -- rich, gooey, and indulgent. I went for the Vietnamese Coffee Tiramisu, which was the cutest thing ever, shaped like a little dumpling! The presentation alone was worth it, but the taste? Even better. Pro tip: dig right into the center to get all the coffee, cream, and cocoa layers in one perfect bite. Absolutely divine. By the end of the night, we were full, happy, and already planning our next visit. From the ambiance to the impeccable service and that unforgettable smoky-Asian flavor, KYU is a total gem. It's classy without being stuffy, modern without being cold, and every detail -- from cocktails to lighting -- feels perfectly balanced. If you're looking for a spot that delivers vibe, flavor, and romance, look no further. Whether it's date night, a celebration, or just a treat-yourself evening, KYU at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas deserves a spot at the top of your must-try list. I came here on Halloween as you can tell from my photos. Hehe First and foremost, I don't like sweet potatoes that much but this place has changed my mind on that!! It's baked white sweet potato with butter plus toasted on top just topped it off. I am obsessed with it. (I even told my friend plus the server that I ain't touching it...) Now we can start talking about the other dishes. The ribs just falls off the bone literally and super tender plus flavorful! Hamachi is fresh, the fried chicken have the perfect seasoning and sauce, crab rice was a bit too sweet for me (so I went home and re-seasoned it lol), the wagyu tartar was a little dry for me but the bread that goes with it is fire (I'll be down to just order the bread), and the desserts are a must!!! We got the S'mores one and Vietnamese tiramisu. Our drinks were amazing same as our server and chef plus great company!! It is so pretty inside! Living in Las Vegas, we have a large choice of premium experiences available. KYO exceeds all expectations. With a wreck on the freeway there, we had to modify our reservations and that went smoothly. Eye contact and smile upon entering. BEST staff ANYWHERE, the menu was explained and drinks never left empty. Exquisite food presentation. The food tasted and smelled fantastic too. I actually joked that I could lick the plate to keep capturing the flavors and the waiter said he believes I would not be the first to do so. Thank you for a perfect evening.
The experience from start to finish was 5 our water was very attentive and always on hand when he saw our drinks running low and always ready for a suggestion from the menu. The waitress delivered our dessert to the table and it was something special! The presentation didn't just look amazing it all tasted divine! Defiantly worth the hype
I really wanted to like this place, but the Thai hotpot was a total letdown. It came out soggy and strangely sweet--nothing like the bold, balanced flavors Thai food is known for. And for something advertised with king crab, I honestly couldn't find any in the dish. For the price and hype, it just didn't deliver. The bbq ribs were ok but truly nothing to write about - I honestly don't recommend this place.
The meal just got worse as the evening went on Pork belly - this was highlight of the meal; crispy and fatty textures with saltiness and lime. Perfect combo Sea bass - surprising good for how it looks Duck breast - not very tender, no fat, and comes with no accompaniments. Under seasoned as well; had to request salt
A friend and I came for her birthday. We went at 5:30 because we had show reservations and it was pretty quiet at that time. The restaurant is bright and open. Our server was good about recommending different things so we tried a variety. I ordered the fish and I found it to be a little tough. They did bring my friend a free dessert for her birthday, which was nice. After we left and we're going into the show, we got a text from them that there was an issue with our bill and we had to come back. Well, we couldn't then, so we went after the show and the people at the front we're trying to figure out what the issue was and why they reached out. They finally figured out that we got charged the wrong amount and they had to recharge our credit card. It was just this mess and we had to keep checking our credit cards for about a week to make sure we got charged correctly.
Kyu did not meet my expectations. I went there to celebrate Christmas with my kids, but unfortunately, I did not enjoy the food at all. I honestly don't understand what others love about this place, it just wasn't my type. The restaurant was also pretty empty during our visit, so the atmosphere felt a bit boring and lacking energy. I couldn't even finish my meal. Overall, based on my experience, I don't think I will be coming back. Hopefully others may have a different experience, but for me, it was disappointing. I don't even have any picture for the food. only from the hotel room ha ha

Flavor bombs galore! I'm a huge fan of sour flavors so the hamachi crudo hit the spot. The wagyu tartare filled my savory senses and the avocado salad continued to hit my sour cravings! I was impressed by the different textures that the avocado salad had to offer. From the crunchy nest on the top, to the crispy greens in the middle, my friend and I left that plate clean. The lemon ginger dressing made my citrus dreams come true. The dressing and the juice from the crudo made me want to cry tears of joy! I could drink both and be happy. read more

Wow. Incredible and top notch service as well as food here!!! We got drinks, sidecar and margaritas and sat at the bar. As we decided to eat at the bar, it was a swift decision to do the price fix menu to try a bit of everything. Smart decision! We started off with the krunchy kale and it was delicious! Oiled and seasoned well! Next up was the salmon and wasabi crispy rice. I've never met a crispy rice I didn't like! Next was king crab stone pot Thai fried rice! Wow! Decadence! Next, roasted cauliflower with shishito sauce. Amazing. Up next was Korean fried chicken and boy oh boy it was delicious. We seriously were like this is A LOT of food! Next, beef short rib and seriously 5 people could have eaten that alone! Omg! It was super tender, falling off the bone! Next, grilled broccoli. It looked great, I brought it home, too full! I just say that KYU pulled out all the stops for our dinner service. Our wait staff was on point and we never had an empty glass in front of us. We started with the shishito peppers, oysters and crunchy kale, all well prepared and enjoyed the kale very much. The sunomomo oysters were fresh and sweet! The fried rice was delicious and the sweet potato was so decadent. The duck was flavorful and prepared perfectly. And who doesn't love fried chicken - my only complaint was the chicken breast was a little dry but the thigh was juicy! Thank you KYU for a nice evening. read more

Ambiance: very clean, romantic with a lively feel to it Service: our server was super nice! Not sure if it was because it's a new restaurant but it was a bit slower. Our entrees didn't come out all at once - it came out one at a time with some time in between. Didn't mind it too much since it was a girls night out Food: Tuna crispy rice was super good & fresh. The fried rice was good but could've passed. Korean fried chicken was also good but some of the pieces were huge - wish it was smaller. The sauce at the bottom was really good. Short rib was delicious!! Super tender and loved the sauce options. But the wagyu tartare was my favorite! They prepare it tableside which was fun to see. KYU is located inside Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino. Went to dine for dinner due to the good reviews. Ordered the popular items: Korean Fried Chicken, Short Rib, and grilled octopus, also with a side Grilled Broccoli. Grilled octopus was 5/10, outer was crispy but inner was soft and had no texture. Flavor was good. Fried chicken was 3/10, food presentation was 1/10, chicken color was very dark brown, meat was on the dry side. Had 3 pieces and couldn't tell if is it was white or dark meat. The spinach underneath the chicken was mushy and disgusting. Short rib was 6/10, presentation was 7/10, flavors were good but it was on the salty side. The veggie wrap was a nice compliment to the heavy flavor of the meat. Overall, it was not worth the money. Not sure why so many good reviews for the fried chicken and the short rib. Vegas has lots of up scale restaurants and this place does not taste up to par. read more

I wanted to try this restaurant for my birthday after reading predominantly positive reviews. Being a Vegas local, we went there for lunch to avoid the Strip crowd at night. Overall, we had a good meal, but there is definitely room for improvement. Our experience started on a slightly sour note when the hostess who checked us in looked like she didn't want to be at work that day. She didn't smile nor acknowledge the special occasion even though it was mentioned in my reservation. There were probably 3-4 other parties when we got there, and when I asked if we could get a window table, the hostess said that the remaining table was reserved. As someone who works in hospitality, I understand that requests are not guaranteed, so I'm not sure why that specific table was reserved. We would have been fine waiting a little had she offered since 2 parties got done after we were seated. On the other hand, our server Hannah and even the food runners were all friendly and prompt with their service. Our favorite dishes were the Korean Fried Chicken with chili butter sauce and the Crispy Rice Hamachi with wasabi aioli. The Corn Rib was surprisingly tasty but a little messy to eat. They did provide warm towels to wipe our hands with. However, the Pork Gyoza was a little on the salty side, and the yuzu hollandaise on the Short Rib Benedict was too sour for our taste. The yuzu flavor was too strong and overwhelming that we couldn't even taste the egg nor the short rib. We ended up sending the dish back, and it was taken off our bill. Our server was also very responsive when we provided our feedback. This place definitely has a lot of potential, but need to work on some missteps, especially for the prices and being part of a luxury hotel. I would like to come back another time since there are some other dishes that we would like to try. Hopefully with a better experience next time. read more

Fantastic date night choice! My husband and I visited on a Saturday evening for our date night and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located inside of the Fountainbleu casino. We had a reservation and were sat immediately upon arrival. We were quickly greeted by our server. Kat was energetic and excited to welcome us. She made fabulous suggestions based on just a few questions. For drinks my husband ordered the Don and I had the espresso martini. Both were excellent, so much so that we ordered a second round. For appetizesr we began with Bulgogi grilled octopus and salmon crispy rice. The octopus was prepared perfectly, it was tender and was accompanied by a sauce that added just the right touch. For our entrees we choose the Wagyu tartare and Roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower came plated on top on of a shishito herb vinaigrette. The presentation of cutting the cauliflower and mixing it with the vinaigrette added a special touch because it was delicious. The tartare presentation was conducted in creative way and I enjoyed it. He could taste the richness of the bone marrow in the tartare and wagyu beef quality excellent. The bread that accompanied the dish was fluffy, flavorful and elevated the dish. The service was phenomenal, each staff member was attentive. Our plates were cleared as soon as we finished a dish. My water glass was never empty as constant attention was paid to us during our entire dining experience. All in all, I would definitely recommend you try Kyu the next time you're at the Fountainbleu. read more

When you walk into Kyu, the atmosphere immediately stands out--it's absolutely beautiful! I was a little nervous beforehand because I had heard that some restaurants in this area aren't very kid-friendly, but I was pleasantly surprised. Kyu is definitely welcoming for families. They even had plastic cups for kids, which was a lifesaver since I forgot my child's sippy cup. The design is thoughtful and modern, with a stunning green garden wall in the back that adds such a peaceful touch to the space. The food was solid, flavorful, and well-prepared, but what really stole the show was the dessert--it was amazing! All in all, a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend for families or anyone looking for a nice meal in a beautiful setting. Just shy of 5 stars for me, but still a spot worth visiting! read more
I had high hopes for this new spot after all the great feedback from other foodies but was disappointed. The decor, ambiance and staff are wonderful this is only about food. Came for lunch and it was empty except one or two tables. Ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice & Ribeye Sandwich. Crispy Rice w/ Tuna: chewy almost like mochi and terribly sticky to my teeth. The tuna was just ok. I feel like it was missing a sauce or something since it was so dry. For the price point not worth it. Ribeye Sandwich: loved the sauce, thin sliced meat and bun. 10/10 service food ambiance everything. Located near the north side of fountainebleau, We stopped by for dinner and no reservations was needed given it is a fairly new restaurants. We ordered the duck and beef ribs along with banchan which are Korean side dishes. The beef is so tender and soft, banchan has surprisingly a lot of food and is good to snack on as pallet cleanser and the duck is my ultimate favorite. The duck does take 30 mins to prepare so plan ahead if you would like to try it. The beef flavor did get a little overpowering so they brought out more lettuce for us to wrap it in. Lastly, The staff was so kind and friendly and they really wrapped up the whole experience for us. read more

The Bulgogi Octopus was amazingly tender and juicy, it had a spicy kick to it. I was not too crazy about the congee but oh well... Their ribs were just okay. Korean Fried Chicken was just okay. This restaurant is located on the first floor of the Fontainebleau hotel and casino. It has a bar in the front and a private room in the back for private parties. We were here for a private corporate event and we had a blast with a DJ and karaoke. The food was delicious - I highly recommend the short ribs - and the service was fast and friendly. W O W! It was my 5 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to get somewhere new. I did not know what to expect coming here and I was blown away! We got a booth by the window, which was perfect for the sunset and some people watching while we drank. The espresso martinis were probably the best we had in Las Vegas. Then the food came. I wish I could tell you which dish was my favorite but it would be impossible to choose because they each had their own unique flavor! This is not the place to come if you think pepper is a seasoning, this is the place you come to bring your taste buds alive. From the hamachi crudo in the coconut sauce to the spicy citrus shishito peppers to the wood fire sea bass to the brisket lettuce wraps, I ate more than I should have. But we still couldn't resist the temptation of a cinnamon roll. I swore I could only manage one bite but we demolished it. And our server Jess was so attentive, always making sure our drinks were full and even surprised us with a sweet treat for our anniversary! What I can say is that second chances can really set a different experience. Went on a busy night with conventioneers everywhere. Only took a few moments to get seated. Scott walked us through the menu and had great suggestions. Never missed a beat and was always around if we needed anything. Must try that we didn't last time was any of the meats. The lamb was out of this world delicious and the rib cap was melt in your mouth tender. But that sweet potato was the perfect side dish. I'd go back just for that. Dishes came out in each course with perfect timing. Perfect night out. Sad there was no room for dessert. read more

This is by far the best restaurant in Las Vegas! Their food was cooked to perfection. The staff was very professional, courteous, and really give you a 5 star dining experience. I would recommend everything on the menu, but the beef short rib was to die for! The restaurant itself was incredibly clean, great music, and great art. My new favorite go to spot in Vegas! read more
Ordered a classic Espresso Martini and the bartender served me up right. Offered me tequila or vodka and made a killer cocktail. Standard recipe, pre-pulled espresso. Absolutely solid. I also ordered their signature Espresso Martini, "Good Morning, Vietnam!" I remember it being better. This time it honestly tasted like sweetened watered down tequila. Not much character whatsoever. Needed more cold brew first and foremost. The garnish however was some coated cherry of sorts--amazing! I'd opt for the standard here. Fantastic restaurant overall though. read more

Kyu is located inside Fontainebleau and is an Asian fusion themed restaurant. Interior was very upscale and it had a nice vibe that matched the resort. For the food, I will say it didn't really blew me away..especially considering the cost. The most flavorful and delicious dish was probably the Korean fried chicken. The king crab legs, while the presentation was certainly fancy, the grilled citrus butter overpowered the taste of the crab itself. Everything else was kind of bland in my opinion. On Saturday night we were treated to an absolutely amazing experience at KYU! All the staff made our party of 10 feel special, especially General Manager Eric Sorenson who came in to our private dining area to introduce himself to our group and share his recommendations on some of the food dishes. We ordered a bit of everything based on Eric's urging so we could all share all the amazing dishes, which was so worth it. The Wyagu rib cap steak, Chileanan sea bass and Beef short ribs were all great and impossible to pick the best. The Hamachi crudo and Grilled octopus are musts for appetizers, and the Godzilla Water drink was complex and delicious. After all that we had several of the desserts too. A longtime friend flew into town, so we decided to try Kyu inside the Fontainebleau because we had never been to either place. The dining room looks gorgeous. It's definitely a good place for a date night. Surprisingly, it wasn't busy during dinnertime (maybe because it was a Monday night?), so we had full attention from their staff. Our waitress was super sweet, and the manager, Dayton, even stopped by to check on us We unwittingly stayed wayy past closing time (sorry! we were deep in conversation!) but the staff was still super nice and didn't kick us out or anything. I definitely want to come back to Kyu Las Vegas to try more items on the menu. I'd rate it 5/5 stars for the Smoked & Wood Fired Duck Breast w Burnt Ends , 5/5 stars for Mom's Coconut Cake w/Coconut Ice Cream , 4/5 for the Smoked Hamachi Crudo w Kumquats & Ponzu, and 6/5 stars for the service. Yes we offer room charging abilities.
Do they accept walk ins or reservations only ? And can we eat by ourselves?
We ate by ourselves but we did reserve-there were open seats so imagine you can walk in if it’s available.
What is the price range?
It really just depends on what you order? I did the tasting menu and I felt that it was a solid price for everything that it was. You can definitely go in and spend under $200 for 2 people.
