Overall a 4/5! The ambiance was amazing and interesting to check out. Would be perfect for date night, especially in the honeycombs or private booths. Service was odd, however we were a party of 9. Our waitress was amazing. They have a system where random workers will bring you your items, some will be something you didn't order, could have been from our tables being together throwing off staff. Food: I ordered the Tonkatsu Omurice with Pork, always wanted to try this from seeing it in animes. Presentation was awesome to have and enjoyed it, the fried pork was cooked too hard for me to eat though but overall liked the meal. Also got the Yakitori Platter (5 Skewers), the seasoning was amazing, I ended up added it to my Omurice for more meat. Just a heads up the online menu shows a baby scallop option and this location does not have it. My fried got the Pan-Fried Gyoza Dumplings and they were extremely good, better than I have had at other locations. I hope they get a liquor license to serve some sake. I was really excited to try this restaurant because the atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the experience went downhill quickly. We ordered seafood ramen for me and fries for my daughter. The server informed us that the fries came topped with tuna flakes and sauce. Since my daughter is a picky eater, we asked if they could be made plain. The server seemed hesitant and said she'd have to ask. Wanting to be easygoing, I accepted the fries as they came. As expected, my daughter didn't like them, so we politely asked if they could simply remake them without the toppings. We were not asking for a refund. The manager refused and cited a "no refunds or exchanges for preferences" policy. The bigger issue came when I was eating my seafood ramen. I found what appeared to be a tiny baby crab or crustacean floating in my spoon. When I asked the server what it was, she initially claimed it looked like a baby carrot--even though the ramen didn't contain carrots. The manager then came over and explained that mussels sometimes eat tiny crabs and that this was "normal." When I asked whether the seafood was cleaned, she stated that it arrives pre-cleaned. Finding a small crab-like creature in my food was extremely unappetizing, and I was disappointed by how dismissive my concerns were treated. After several minutes of discussion, the manager finally agreed to refund the ramen. I understand seafood can sometimes contain unexpected items, but what bothered me most was the handling of the situation. Between refusing a simple remake of fries for a child and dismissing concerns about something found in the ramen, I left feeling unheard as a customer. Also after the incident our server never came back over, they sent another server to finish up.. First off the inside is beautiful and really nicely laid out. Service is great waitress and servers are very nice and they are very attentive. Let's discuss the food however first off it tasted really nice the ramen was great and the broth had a great flavor. The fried dumplings were very good. I ordered the beef ramen and my wife got chicken however the meat sizes leave a lot to be desired, and it looks nothing like the picture at all, for 20 bucks for a bowl of ramen it should be picture perfect. My friend and I came for a late lunch on Saturday. Realizing they are still in their grand opening phase, I decided not to wait. They don't take reservations, you have to join their waitlist when you come in and the wait times are an hour plus right now as of Feb 8, 2026. We finally got called and were seated at a 2 top. I decided to try the combo, which included ramen, a bao bun and Thai tea. They forgot about my bao bun and I had to ask about it 3 different times. It finally came and was really tasty. I really enjoyed the ramen. I got the #6 Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. I like mine a little spicy. I will go back once the hype dies down and the wait isn't so long. But I enjoyed it. Opening Day at Kyuramen Huntsville My boyfriend and I stopped by Kyuramen on opening day, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere alone is a win--intimate seating with a modern hexagon/honeycomb design that feels both cozy and stylish. The food was phenomenal. We started with the creamy udon, which was easily the star of the meal, and the crispy sweet chili wings--perfectly sweet with just the right amount of heat. I also ordered the Amazing Lemonade, and it truly lived up to its name: refreshing, flavorful, and well-balanced. For our entrées, we had the chicken katsu curry rice and the chicken yakisoba. The curry was rich and bold in flavor. While the chicken katsu didn't have the traditional panko-style breading (it was closer to a popcorn chicken-style breading), the dish was still enjoyable. The chicken yakisoba was very good--great flavor and excellent noodles. The staff was friendly and worked as a team. Rather than having a single server assigned to our table, multiple team members checked in on us and delivered food, which kept everything moving smoothly and efficiently. Overall, Kyuramen felt like a well-oiled machine, especially for opening day. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Huntsville. read more

But it seemed like our table had been forgotten once we were seated because it took a while for someone to take our order. We stopped by for lunch on a Monday morning, at 11AM and 1 full week after they had opened their doors. The exterior is unassuming but once you walk in, the interior is brightly decorated and busy with many areas for the eyes to wander. We were the 5th group in line and we were able to sit in one of the honeycomb booths. Very easy getting in, not so fun getting out (based on the placement of the stairs). It seemed to take a second to get our order in but once our server stopped by, it took about 15 minutes for our food to come out. Everything came out when it was ready vs. all at once so that meant everything was nice and hot when it arrived. We had: * Ika Geso Kara-age (fried squid) - missing the tempura style veggies like the website shows but great flavor and hot. Some pieces were thicker than others and we ended up using the sauce from our spring rolls to balance out some of the fried texture. * Veggie Spring Rolls - straight forward, served hot and crispy and a good serving amount (5 pieces) * Spicy Dumplings - a little too spicy for my preference. I ate two of them and boxed the rest. The spice overpowered the dumpling flavor. * Yin/Yang Ramen Bowl - my husband loved it. The broths had a great flavor, the noodles were nice and springy and the veggies were fresh. * Gyudon (Beef Rice Bowl) - the rice to meat ratio is a little off given the amount of fat on the meat cut. The flavor however was fantastic. We wanted to try one of the Tea's but our server told us that it would be a 30-minute wait for anything from the tea bar. We were disappointed to see drinks coming out soon after that to other diners. I hated to see people give the store low ratings with them being so new. I believe they will work through some of their kinks with timing. The food was delicious and we will definitely return to try some other options. The novelty of the honeycomb booths is great for the aesthetic but sitting we probably would forgo it next time based on the discomfort of climbing out of the middle booth. Although we got there right when they opened, when we were leaving an hour later, their lobby was already very full of people waiting to be seated. I cannot imagine what the weekends will look like. Edited to add: I've gone back with a good friend (visit #2) and our family (visit #3). Food came out hot each time. The TBar is a bit slow so I hope they figure that out as our kids loved their drinks (once they arrived). Our daughter has asked to go back again, soon. Kyuramen was such a fun experience! The restaurant itself has a really cool aesthetic. I loved the honeycomb booths and the little private bamboo booths they sat us in -- so cute and cozy. My mom ordered the vegetable ramen and I got the shoyu beef ramen. I absolutely loved mine (I'm a ramen girl!), and my mom enjoyed hers too. The only thing she mentioned was that she probably would have preferred regular ramen noodles instead of the green noodles that came with her bowl. I tried them though and thought they were good. For dessert we ordered the Japanese blossom jelly, which I loved. It's a little tricky to keep on the spoon, but that's jelly for you! The water glasses were adorable and even the napkin holder was cute, I loved all the little details. The only minor complaint was that our waiter never came back to check on us, so I ran out of water. Later I noticed the service button on the table, and when we pressed it someone came right away. Either letting guests know about the button or checking once during the meal would help. Our total was around $45 for two people, which I thought was very reasonable. Probably the best ramen I've had in Huntsville so far. Dined at the ramen bar solo so didn't need full table service but the food was excellent. My only request is they add more items to add to your bowl like butter or cilantro and other things. Wasn't cheap but was what I expected so I won't complain about the price for the quality. BIG GROUP SERVICE CHARGE BEWARE!!! I came with a big group and people came late and the servers were very accommodating with us. When the servers brought the food out they didn't call the ramen by the actual name on the menu so everyone got so confused on which ramen was who's. The servers were very nice though. The food was mid. I'm from california and the ramen here did not even come close to comparing to places i've had there. They do this thing where you can win a free drink, ramen, etc. if it says it at the bottom of the bowl. I won a free ramen which is cool. However, the WORST PART: we paid our bill and tipped but all thought our bills seemed a bit more expensive than we thought it should be. We got the receipt and realize they charged us a service charge without telling us!! I basically gave them a 40% tip for mid food and confusing service. I suppose I am breaking even with the free ramen if I use it but I am still upset about not being told about the service charge. read more

The only problem was I didn't know who my server was. One took my drink order. A different one came and tried to take our drink order but someone else did it before then. One took my food order. Same thing happened, after we ordered a different person came and tried to take our order. And one came to us with the bill. And after I gave them my card, a different one came up asking if we needed to pay. No one came to check on me so my drink was empty a lot. No problem with the food, it was good. First time here. Please understand this is not what I typically think of as a Japanese restaurant, but most of my memories are based on sushi bars. Maybe this is more representative of typical Japanese dining. Regardless, the meal was delicious. Went there with a group of friends, we all had something different. As the name suggests, most were noodle based. I tried the creamy Ramen with tempura. I thought I would combine something old - shrimp tempura - with something new - creamy tempura. What a great combination! My friends had different dishes, from yakitori to other Ramen based dishes. Everyone seemed to be pleased. Service was amazing. I did not feel I was being interrupted, but different servers periodically asked if we needed anything. I don't know how they split up their job duties, but they coordinated well. They had many unique booths for smaller, more intimate meals. I enjoyed seeing this, the occupants appeared to be happy and frankly oblivious to others. We went at lunch and if anything, I wish it was easier to have a conversation. But again, there were seven of us at long table, would've been tough in the quietest theater. I'm going back, I want to try the sushi bar, many other items I want to taste. I know this is a chain, seems to be present throughout the northeast and moving south at least east of the Mississippi. I went there the other day and was met with a unique atmosphere. It was very interesting, and I was intrigued by the vibe. I was seated in a little honeycomb shelf on the left wall. The shelves were the first things I noticed when I walked in, and I genuinely wanted to be seated there. It was a cold day outside and the heater were blowing full steam. Unfortunately, the Hwat was blown directly into my booth, and I was blasted with heat and began sweating my butt off. It got to the point where I was lightheaded, but I didn't want to seem disrespectful and ask to move. I looked and the menu and was unsurprised by the expensive price. Ramen places tend to be pricy. I ordered the #6 Kyushu tonkotsu spicy ramen. It was alright at best, but it drained me of $17. Service was good I think, but I couldn't think really well because of the heat. It has a unique experience; however, it is no better than its counterpart across the street Kamado Ramen, and Kyuramen is slightly more expensive. Would I recommend? Probably not. I think Kamado is slightly better in pretty much all catagories. TLDR: Shi was lwk mid icl. Kamado is similar and slightly cheaper. read more
