Food came out quick too -- always a good sign when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. First up: the Yinyang Bowl. Two ramens. One bowl. Tonkotsu Shoyu + Sapporo Miso... basically the ramen version of having your cake and eating it too. I am very pleased to see a ramen spot open past 11PM! My service dog was welcome and it closes at 1am. Big shout out to Lu our server! Clean, cozy and very quick service. This place is super cute and super efficient. Nothing better than a weekend place that makes sure to get people in and out. I already love this brand of ramen but this spot in particular is nice because of the location. Lively people and amazing options all around. The food is spot on! Cooked to perfection. I get that they are a high volume spot. But they need to clean their plastic tabletop signage more regularly: There was alot of crud at the base of the advertisement about their ramen bowl contest. Yum-wise I'd appreciate an expansion of the vegetarian offerings. We are in the East Village for heaven's sakes! I was craving omurice and saw Kuyramen had it on the menu so I headed there for early lunch. No wait and half empty restaurant, it was great. I was seated at the counter and given two menus - one for food, another for drinks. The server lacked interest in his job and overall courtesy skills. He kept grabbing things from under my hands and I felt rushed. Omurice was only offered as a combo with a drink. You can't order it on its own so I had to get a lemonade with my order which was too sweet and didn't even go with the omurice dish.. Weird!! I chose the plain omurice with curry. You can also get it with pork tonkatsu on top and with a Demi glace sauce instead of curry. The curry sauce was delicious and a little spicy kick. Overall very filling and tasty. Ate in 2024: This was my second time having Japanese ramen and I don't know if I just haven't found a good ramen place yet or if I just don't like ramen. The ramen I've had so far just has one flavor: saltiness. Maybe I'm more used to eating southeast asian noodle dishes but I kind of wished that there was more of a flavor profile to ramen because all I remember from kyuramen is that their ramen tasted salty. Like yeah, there was a bit of spiciness to it but that didn't really enhance the flavor profile. Even my friend who went with me thought the ramen was mid. However, the appetizers we got were pretty yummy! We got their gyoza, spring rolls, and takoyaki and I have no complaints for those dishes. The thai iced tea didn't taste authentic so that was a letdown. Would I come here again? Maybe. My friends have said positive things about their omurice and I would love to try that. read more

Have had this spot on my list for a while and I finally got to come for an early dinner on a Monday! I love the seating in the back with the private booths and cloth curtains. The menu was a little tricky to read given the amount of options, but I got the hang of it and ordered the Thai iced tea, omurice, yakitori and popcorn chicken. The Thai iced tea was sooo good. I also liked the zucchini yakitori, and the egg in the omurice was cooked perfectly. The matcha and red bean pudding dessert was so cute and I liked the presentation a lot. Came here after a concert at Irving plaza to grab a bite and unwind and the ramen hit the spot! I got the mega ramen and the shrimp tempura in the miso broth was the perfect combination of flavors with the savory broth! The restaurant looks bigger than it is. There are also booths in the back. The menu is overwhelming. I went in expecting to have ramen and I ordered their Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger instead. The dish says it has Cucumber, Nori, Mixed Greens and Mayo. I don't generally care for mayo based condiments but this was good and it was just enough where it didn't distract from the star of the dish, the fried soft shell crab. I wish the "rice burger' part of the dish was crispy. That would have made it easier to eat and I feel would have made a better taste profile. You get plastic gloves w/ this dish. I tried to eat it w/ the gloves but gave up and used utensils. If you look at the picture of the Spicy Chili Smashed Cucumber on the menu and what I got, you can see it's slightly different. I was expecting a more Korean version of this dish. It was meh. I wouldn't order this again. My husband's ramen was pretty good. The vegetable broth was tasty. Next time I will go for the ramen. Note: There's only 1 rest room w/ no baby changing station. There was a woman w/ a child who ended up coming out after people were lined up knocking on the door and when it was finally my time to go into the rest room, I got why. A casual restaurant for tonkatsu omurice in the city. I got the pork tonkatsu omurice combo, which came with the omurice, tonkatsu, and thai iced tea. The omelette was soft and fluffy, but the fried rice was a little lukewarm. Tonkatsu tasted premade, but it was still okay. Thai iced tea was on the sweeter side. Takoyaki was pretty standard. I took a chance and tried the curry ramen with tonkatsu and it happened to be really delicious! The combo came with a pork bun and thai iced tea.
