    love them

They do a great job every time. I get the acrylic overly on my nails. I've been coming her for a while now and they don't miss. Make sure to tip in cash

    Regular mani

I went here because I was waiting in line for the breakfast club (restaurant next door). They were prompt to help me out and the guy (Jimmy i think) was really nice and helpful. He did my pedi and did a fantastic job. The woman, on the other hand, did my regular mani. It's common for me to experience getting pressured to get a gel mani, but she kept insisting and then gave me attitude when I said no. She finished my mani and I was shocked that this was her finishing work. I told her there's bubbles, there needs cleaning, and my fingers had splatters of nail polish on it - I asked her to clean it after two times of fixing it and it was still horrible. It seems like the quality of the nail polish was bad (oil on top was separating) but even then I would hope they'd communicate to me about it so I could change color or something. Jimmy continued to be helpful even after everything finished and I looked seemingly upset, but the other woman overall was so rude and did a horrible job. I hope they work on improving their customer and nail services overall.

    Nail set on left hand.

TL;DR: My big toes were messed up 3x and instead of taking accountability, the owner blamed me for…read morechoosing regular polish--a service she provides. No refund, no solution, and deeply unprofessional behavior. *~~ Service Overview & Pricing I booked a same-day appointment that the owner accepted. I requested: * #108 Gelixir purple gel polish + acrylic fill manicure * #108 Gelixir purple regular polish + basic pedicure The owner upsold heavily throughout. I even let her do extra work on my pinkies to build rapport. Total: $81 Tip: $15 (tipped before the service was completed) She opened the shop ~5 min late despite accepting my 9:30 AM appointment, & complained aloud, setting the tone for our session. *~~ Where Everything Went Wrong 1. First Mistake Toe spacers were applied after polishing but before the paint was dry, immediately smudging the big toe. 2. Second Attempt They only partially removed the polish to "fix" it. Because the initial coats weren't fully removed, the application was thick and uneven. After 40 minutes of "drying," the nail dented and the texture caught the lip of my shoe, scratching again. I told them I still had time if they wanted to properly redo it. 3. Third Attempt A kind staff member accidentally damaged the other big toe while helping me into disposable sandals. At this point, my toes had been ruined three separate times--all due to staff actions. *~~ The Owner's Response When I asked if they could use gel on the big toes (since the mistakes were theirs), the owner refused and claimed: 1. The colors "wouldn't match." 2. Gel and regular polish can't match--despite the Gelixir palette offering both and my manicure proving otherwise. 3. That because I chose regular polish, the outcome was my fault. She repeated this many times. 4. That regular polish takes "hours to dry in cold weather," something she never mentioned and is simply not true. By then I had been there from 9:30 AM to 12:20 PM, and the pedicure was the first service we started. *~~ Escalation & Unprofessional Conduct When I calmly asked for a reasonable fix (or at least accountability for my time), the owner became rude, defensive, and dismissive. She offered: * No refund * No partial refund * No refund of my tip * No solution She repeatedly told me I could "leave if I didn't like it" while her staff was trying to help me with bare toes. Instead of accountability, she lectured me with constant "you" statements and kept shifting blame. I stayed polite and attempted to de-escalate, but she kept escalating. My friend who was with me also felt the owner was short, judgmental, and rude from the beginning. As a Filipina, I'm familiar with cultural bluntness--this wasn't bluntness. This was aggressiveness and unprofessionalism. *~~ Service Quality & Safety Concerns * They used a pumice scrubber on my inner ankle bone, leaving raw skin and micro-cuts. * The owner drilled harshly on the sides and cuticle area during my fill, causing irritation and cuts. When I said "ow," she told me I "needed lotion." (I regularly moisturize; the issue was her technique.) * During upselling for designs/gems, she asked about two fingers. When I agreed, she worked on the wrong fingers, insisted I said "all," and did the same thing to my friend. * Despite her picking my friend's shade, she acted annoyed when we asked to see it on one toe. Odd behavior throughout--there's truly no winning with her. *~~ Final Thoughts Based on quality alone, this could have been a 2-star experience. But the owner's behavior makes it a 0-star experience. Earlier, she told me her business struggles with retention but has some regulars. Now I understand why. The recurring reviews about poor customer service suddenly make complete sense. Even her responses to negative reviews show the same pattern--confrontational, defensive, and unwilling to take responsibility. It's impossible to relax when the owner is hostile, unaccountable, and provides no customer care. This was my first time going (only to accommodate my friend's work schedule) because in theory the 9:30 AM start time is competitive. But honestly, you're better off walking one minute over to Winchester Nails, which is actually my regular spot. I'll never cheat on them again.

Tina is an absolute delight…read more She is so charming, funny, likable, and she does such a great job with the massage + prep. I highly appreciated her kindness and great service she provided. To top it all off, my pedicure came out SO PERFECT *heart eyes* and it is sooo beautifully done. Kim painted my French style pedicure with a tiny gold glitter lining trim, love that it was beautifully done. My entire experience here was luxurious, so relaxing, and overall lovely in every way. Tina even helped me take cute fresh pedicure photos after my service, how very sweet/thoughtful of her. :) I was lucky enough to score a pedicure by calling an hour ahead, yay me! lol. (It's definitely best practice to book a few days ahead of time *whoops*.) The salon itself is absolutely pristine and beautifully decorated. You can definitely tell that the owners put a lot of love and care into their salon decor. Everything looks absolutely lovely. The Kitchen Nail Bar salon itself provides such a luxurious, lovely, and relaxing experience. This is hands down the BEST pedicure experience I've ever had and I have literally tried TONS of places so that's saying a lot. lol. (However I will say it's a bit pricey but if price doesn't matter to you, it's so worth it) lol. I also really like how they have hot tea and other beverages available during the service. I enjoyed a nice green tea that helped me relax even more. :) Side note: the parking lot here is very busy and packed. However finding parking is definitely doable. Just be careful in the parking lot because cars don't seem too mindful of pedestrians.

I usually don't go to chain salons like this but desperately needed an appt while my normal nail tech is out on maternity leave and figured this would be a good option given all the great reviews. I got my nails done just under 2 weeks ago and normally at this point, my nails have grown out but the polish is typically still in good condition. However, after coming here, the polish lifted so much I just peeled it all off. I know it's not ideal to peel off gel, but I had no choice when it was lifting and getting stuck in my hair. It obviously left my nail beds in poor condition too. After peeling the polish on my pinky nail, you can even see that the polish underneath wasn't ever fully dried. After paying $65 for a simple gel removal and gel polish, I can't say it was worth it at all. Also, my appt was at 9am right at opening and the place was packed. Good for their business I'm sure, but it seems they only care about quantity and getting as much people in, as opposed to focusing on the quality of their services. If you need something quick and don't care about your nails lasting long or the health/quality of your nails, then come here. Otherwise, I'm very disappointed and will not be back.

I had a loyalty card that was one stamp away from earning a free eyebrow threading. During one of my visits, I asked for my stamp and was told by the gentleman working there that they no longer used the physical stamps and had moved everything into their system. He told me that all I would need to do for future visits was provide my phone number. He specifically asked me for my loyalty card, and I handed it to him because I trusted that he was transferring my existing stamps into their system. When I returned for another eyebrow threading and provided my phone number, there was no record of my previous stamps. I was then told that they had no proof of the stamps and could only give me the one stamp for that current visit. What really disappointed me was that I had physically handed my loyalty card to an employee after being told that my stamps would be entered into the system. If I had known my previous stamps would not be honored, I obviously would have kept the card as proof. At this point, it's not about the free eyebrow threading itself. It's about being given specific information by an employee, trusting what I was told, and then being left with no way to recover the loyalty stamps I had earned. I feel that my card and loyalty should have been respected, especially since I was a returning customer. Unfortunately, because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I no longer feel comfortable returning. I hope the business takes this as an opportunity to make sure employees are properly communicating changes to the loyalty program and that customers' previously earned rewards are honored.

There was only one nail tech working, another customer already waiting, and no one even bothered to check my appointment. I was just asked what I wanted and told to sit down. That alone told me everything. I waited about 15 minutes before being seen. The pedicure itself was fine, but while I was sitting there, more and more people kept coming in even though existing clients were not finished. It was obvious they were overbooking. After my pedicure, which was not even completed since my toes were not painted yet, I was told to wait another 25 minutes. At that point it was already close to noon. I left briefly to grab coffee and came back at 12:35 PM. They still were not ready. I ended up waiting about an hour, not the 25 minutes I was told. My 10:30 AM appointment did not end until 2:00 PM. That is 3.5 hours. I even told them to skip painting my nails just so I could leave sooner, and it still took that long. At checkout, I said I would not be paying full price due to the excessive wait. One staff member was apologetic, but another stepped in and insisted I pay full price, clearly annoyed that I even asked for a discount. Only after pushing back did they take 10 dollars off. I paid 105 dollars for a 3.5 hour appointment that was not even fully completed. This place is disorganized, overbooks aggressively, and does not respect customers' time. A 10 dollar discount for this experience is honestly insulting. Would not come back. Would not recommend.
