I went in this past Friday, walked in at 6:40 pm, told the 2 girls at the counter that I wanted a pedicure and gel ex removal. The hostess said ok, so I proceeded to pick out a color. I sat and waited about 10 min, no one was saying anything, not even the guy who normally does my gelx, or the older lady who's usually in charge. Everyone was giving me side eye looks and rushing out the back door. I got the feeling of "she'll figure it out we're closing." It was a bit humiliating. Amy came and said she'd do my pedicure once she got free. I appreciated her so much for taking me on. When I asked her if anyone would be able to do my nails, she wasn't sure. I disclosed that I was having a surgical procedure the next morning and would appreciate if someone could take them off (per drs request). She took immediate action and went to the 2 young girls at the front desk. When she told them that it was an urgent request bc of my procedure, one of the girls replied with, "Well she should have came sooner." That was kinda hurtful bc little did she know that my procedure was emergency stat. And regardless of my procedure, if they weren't going to have time for me, they should have told me when I checked in, instead of having me wait, and I could have gone down the street to one of the other nail salons. Amy turned to another nail tech who was helping another client. Asked if she could accommodate, and yes she asked Vilan if he would be able to take them off and he did. I appreciated him for it. After my services were done, I left within the hour and would have taken 35 min overall had I been seen right away. I've been a loyal customer to Nailtique since they opened but that girls comment and their lack of communication upon check in was disappointing.

So out of all the places I came across I chose this one, mainly because my baby nephew name is Mason, but then I looked into the website and it felt amazing just from its art , the style of nails. The appearance everything. And randomly walking in and getting paired with "yuki" she was amazing. A friendly host, we chatted a bit, but honestly her vibe was so peaceful you didn't even want to ruin the moment, her silence was peaceful enough. I sat in the middle row so I had views of outside just taking in the city and the scenery, amazing vibes. I would highly recommend trying this place out. Book with "yuki" if you can , to be quite frank everyone in there salon looks they do amazing work. Like any nail technician you get paired with with get the job done. Give it a 5 star . Love this location, everyone is super friendly and accommodating. They always give cold bottled water as soon as you walk in. There is plenty of parking in the lot, it is shared with a sushi and hotel parking. I love the colors they have, usually I do the extra long last one or gel. This review is difficult to write because I gave this salon multiple chances and truly wanted to support them as a Pasadena local, but what started as disappointment over birthday nails turned into concerns about sanitation, professionalism, pricing, and customer treatment. Please consider looking at the photos of my nails an hour after they were done. I initially overlooked things because there was one employee in particular who was very kind and I kept hoping my experience would improve. Unfortunately, after several visits, I began noticing issues that became impossible to ignore. I observed sanitation and maintenance concerns that made me uncomfortable, including openings in walls with exposed plumbing, tools appearing to be reused between clients without proper visible sanitization, and a communal nail brush in the bathroom that was later used during service. This raised hygiene concerns for me personally. My birthday appointment was the turning point. I specifically requested Serena. During removal, my nails chipped significantly and I felt the service was rushed. I requested nail strengthening treatment and a simple French tip, but the final result was thick and not what I had asked for. When I politely said I was unhappy with the outcome, the response immediately became uncomfortable. Cameras were repeatedly referenced even though I was simply discussing the result of my nails and not disputing what happened. I was told that whatever I chose next "better be right" because they did not want me returning unhappy later. The repeated references to surveillance felt unnecessary and unrelated to the issue I was trying to address. There were also concerns about pricing. The posted pricing showed removal and regular polish charges, however I was charged more than expected and left confused about the final total. The polish reportedly applied "free of charge" did not feel free when the overall bill had already increased. After payment there was little acknowledgment, no effort to resolve concerns, and the interaction felt abrupt. When my husband later tried to discuss the pricing and service concerns, the conversation escalated further. Cameras were referenced again, we were directed to contact the owner, a phone number provided was unreachable, and the situation became increasingly hostile rather than solution focused. At that point it stopped being about the money and became about customer treatment. I gave this place multiple chances because there were staff members I genuinely liked and wanted to support. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I would encourage management to focus on professionalism, sanitation transparency, customer communication, and handling feedback without escalation. For those looking in Pasadena, I would personally recommend seeking a salon with clearer pricing, stronger customer service, and a cleaner environment.
