The "rustic" bread was perfect for soaking up the tasty sauce. This location of Carmela's offers plenty of covered outdoor seating in a quiet space next to the restaurant. Just order at the counter, find a table, and within a few minutes, you order is delivered to you. Carmela Coffee Company offers a great atmosphere to enjoy breakfast, lunch or just some coffee. The girl working there in the mornings is so kind and friendly. It was always a pleasure to see her in the mornings. The coffee shop doesn't have any seating really, but there's a lot of seating in the hotel lobby just outside. My boyfriend and I preferred to sit outside which is also an option. This is the first location of The Seed that I've been to, so I'm not sure how other locations compare, but this one was pretty small in general with limited seating inside. Luckily my fiancé and I got there while it was empty, so we were able to choose two of the four bar seats along the wall across from the counter. I had a latte with almond milk and house-made lavender syrup, and we each had a classic croissant sandwich. Latte with house-made lavender syrup: I really enjoyed this. My fiancé described this as a "mix of coffee and tea", which I think was fitting. The lavender syrup sweetened the coffee with light floral notes and the latte was a great balance between herbal, floral, and creamy overall. Classic croissant sandwich: The egg patty was pretty thick, I'd say just under a 1/2" thick. It was packed with bacon and cheese, and the sandwich was toasted the way I liked. The croissant was buttery and flakey, and overall I enjoyed the sandwich. There wasn't anything unique about the sandwich though, it was just a solid breakfast croissant sandwich that was made well. No special sauces or other ingredients. I guess that's why it's the classic. The staff was nice and pleasant, and our food and drinks were made in a reasonable amount of time. I do think the food and drink were a bit overpriced for what it was (our bill was ~$40 for two sandwiches and two drinks), but they say the ingredients are all locally sourced so I'm assuming that's why. It's all a little disjointed, but maybe that's the point. The woman behind the counter was friendly and my hazelnut latte came out within minutes. I love a good cup of coffee, but this wasn't it.
