    Enchiladas de Espinaca

This place remains consistent for me! They still have the vegan spinach enchiladas! They give free chips and salsa, also! I don't like spice but for some reason this time everything was too spicy, but that's just a me problem, this is perfect for anyone else who does like spicy. This place is semi- nice. Like traditional old without any modernization, but it is clean. They have a singer who comes around to ask if you would like a song. The service was good. She took our order quickly and the food came out fast! There aren't many places with vegan options and this one is so good, I will continue to come here!

We don't get to this part of Dallas much anymore. We happened to be in the area and thought let's see if La Calle Doce is still around. I was so glad to see they were. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio. House margaritas were some of the best we've ever had. Chilaquiles and camarón à la Diablo were both great. Service was excellent. It was everything we remembered. Hopefully it doesn't take us another 25 years to get back!

Remember coming to this restaurant EVERY friday back in '02-'03 & it was always very delicious! Visiting Dallas and decided to eat here for dinner on a Thursday evening. Made reservations at 4pm for 12 people and they had us in a private room which gave us plenty of space and privacy. They have a lot of seafood options both fried and grilled. Their top Entrees are the shrimp or octopus cocktail with crackers. Very delicious and not spicy at all. It definitely hits the spot and they offer both in small or big sizes. They offer ceviche, shrimp, salads, tacos, etc. We got a pitcher of Piña Colada and skinny margarita. Both were very delicious and definitely hit the spot with a few cocktails. The place has a small parking lot beside the location but they do have a lot of seating both inside and outside. If you are in the area this would be a great spot for lunch or dinner.

First the happy hour house margs are delicious and go until 6:30 for 6$! Great deal and so yum! But the food was not it. My shrimp and crab "relleno"? had no relleno pepper so be warned but it was also funky. Had an interesting burnt rubber taste to it? Was also just covered in what tasted like nacho cheese from the ballpark. I love seafood and Mexican but this was not it. The environment is great! Food is not. But a man came out on guitar for a birthday and they had a guy selling photos but gave you one for free which was super fun! Our waitress was great I will give her that.

    Fish soup, delicious!

Visiting Dallas area for a weekend, was told I should check out this place for their fish soup and relleno. Both were fantastic. The shrimp relleno is not your typical stuffed green bell pepper, but giant prawns served with rice, baked potato, and a small piece of chili pepper almost as an whimsical afterthought. In any case, this is a delightful dish I highly recommend it. Also, Yelp check-in gives you a free half nacho (I couldn't believe the 'half' size, I guess it's Texas everything is bigger.) The freshly made chips and salsa (green and red) were also excellent! The restaurant is basically a converted cozy country cottage, so it could feel cramped inside for some people. The upside is you feel like dining in the charming home of a gourmet host with Southern hospitality. I loved it.

Oak cliff staple for sure. Service is great. Friendly staff. I have mixed feelings about the food, because some of the things we ordered were glorious and some things were not that good. We ordered the fondue, 10/10. The stuffed shrimp sounded great, but personally, the crab texture was too pasty plus the combination of the shrimp and cheese was not the best. The California tacos were a little dry. Most meals come with a fish soup. The cucumber mule was pretty good. I loved the Victorian house vibes and the wallpapers and decor. Place is very clean.

This place is amazing. Great food, great decor, plenty of parking with efficient and knowledgeable staff. Our server Javier was very attentive to our large party of 12 guests. I actually live in Charlotte, North Carolina but was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up dinning at La Calle Doce during my teenage years. The place hasn't changed much except for a few menu items. I was able to call the restaurant and make a reservation all the way from North Carolina. We arrived 15 minutes before our party reservation at 4 p.m. and we were actually sat down immediately in one of their more private event rooms. We were actually the only party sat in that dinning room and it was great to be able to hear and done with family members without having to worry about other guest in the restaurant. The food wait was less than 15 minutes and appetizers were brought out immediately and were very hot and fresh. Our server Javier made sure everyone's beverage stayed full and we were actually able to get a pitcher of Piña. Colada for the table. This place never disappoints and I am so happy that I was able to dine in at such a nostalgic place for my family and me.

Holy moly they do seafood perfectly! Large dining room spaces, sophisticated casual, friendly and gracious staff. We had a party of four and got to order 4 different entrees, appetizers, and desserts. Servings are large, hot, and scrumptious. Seafood lovers this is top-notch and you won't be disappointed! Homemade tortillas made on-site! The fish soup is delicious! Plenty of parking.

Holy moly. I'm not Mexican but I'm gonna say this is the best Mexican I've had. Super fresh. Can't lose with any item on the menu. So far, I've loved seafood tacos, all the soups, taco salad, seafood appetizer dip... Plan to try lots more. Love the enclosed patio. Ask for Kiko!!!

The food, drinks and service was excellent . Went for a birthday celebration and had a great time with the family. Everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the food.

This restaurant is beautiful! It's a house that has been converted into a multi room restaurant. They serve mainly Mexican seafood, but they do have non-seafood options as well. The chicken chile relleno, rice, beans, and nachos were all very good. We received excellent service. This restaurant will go on our favorites list. Cons: Don't drive a low car into the parking lot from the main road. Your car will bottom out. Even our small SUV hit the ground. Having everyone enter & exit through the same typical house sized door and hallway is a mess. People block the walkway and almost run into each other.

Location Southwest Dallas-Oak Cliff area Parking Off street lot Atmosphere It's like a home with rooms decorated beautifully, bar area, outside garden like area Small room has woman making tortillas-nice! Live music-very nice. Tv's in bar have spanish only channels. Seating Bar, outdoor seating, indoor-tables, booth Service Friendly and super fast. Menu Happy hour menu limited-house margarita not wine. Complimentary chips and salsa-red tasted canned, green was good but very spicy. Chips were light and tasty. Guacamole was generous and fresh. Really good. We had the trio of fish tacos-served with rice, sauce, corn tortillas, and side salad. The shrimp Had the most serving. The salmon and mahi were good but shrimp was best. The margarita was delish and generous. Summary Very popular local restaurant, fresh food, terrific service, limited happy hour menu. They are known for the catfish. Glad we tried it!

Chef Roger also stopped by our table personally to check on us and make sure everything was good. The restaurant was very clean, the ambiance was great, and the service was outstanding. It honestly made me a little sad to see it so quiet because places with good food, great people, and excellent hospitality deserve to be busy. The apps were the Aguachile which was the better of the two, and the other were the crab croquettes which were packed with crab but lacked in flavor. Of the entrees the blacked catfish was the better one. The only issue was the huge portion of mashed potatoes which were reminiscent of powered mash, but the catfish itself was outstanding. On the other side I've never had a lobster roll before but this genuinely has no flavor and has experienced some serious shrinkflation when compared to other pictures here on yelp of it. The fries were great though. The dessert also was nothing memorable and was a very basic bread pudding that could've been warmer. Overall, I was not impressed by Pesca as the reviews may have led me to believe, but it is still a solid place in trinity groves that deserves be more attention.

We sat at the table for two near the door which had great lighting, and it was really fun to people watch as pedestrians roamed outside. Our server recommended a few cocktails - I got the Limelight which was delicious and my friend got one of the clarified cocktails, which was also very tasty. Honestly the alcohol flavor was masked super well so they're very dangerous drinks! Will have to come by to try some of the others. Our server was super helpful explaining & coursing out the menu, and we got a bunch of items to share. First up we got the scallop aguachile, which was tart and spicy and super refreshing, and the salmon tartare which was creamy and decadent and came with shatteringly crisp wonton chips. Really excellent starters, and they made me want to come back and get the rest some time! Then we split the ahi tuna tostadas and the crab avocado tostadas, which come 2 per order. Hugo O. came over to ask if we were sharing and helpfully had them plated one each per plate so we could eat them more easily, and also brought over a chili pequín hot sauce to complement the tostadas. They were so good! I'll be dreaming about both the tostadas and the pequín sauce for a while. The ahi tuna was super fresh and went so well with the accompaniments, and the crab didn't get lost in the other flavors on that tostada. The crisp tortillas underneath also held up really well to each bite; I'm so used to tostadas shattering upon first taste but the structural integrity of Hugo's were super impressive. For our main we split the fish of the day, which was seared Hokkaido scallop atop a bed of corn risotto. This also came pre-split into two bowls so we didn't have to do it ourselves, which was a super nice touch. The scallops were cooked to perfection, super soft and tender with an incredible crust, and the corn risotto was super creamy and savory. Almost a little too salty for me with the amount of cheese, but still so good I almost licked the bowl clean. Seriously good food here - sad it's a bit of a trek from where I live but I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K
