Really hard to explain how disappointing this place has become. The last few times I've been in to eat, the sandwich, if you can call it that, had the most minuscule ingredients and just two pieces of bread stuck together basically. This time I ordered two "you pick two" meals via DoorDash, and after waiting over half an hour the delivery was missing one of my sandwiches. The other one literally was one piece of cheese between two soggy pieces of bread, and that was a "grilled cheese" Not the fault of the Dasher obviously but Panera bread come on! They never have hot coffee or have no coffee in the canisters. It is always a 5 minute or so wait. The people that work there are very nice and give good customer service. The location is great and have plenty of nice inside and outside seating. Just can't get a nice cup of coffee in a timely matter. Most times I go into the store instead of the drive through since they will sometimes give me caffeinated coffee instead of decaf. Not good. read more

My sandwich reminded me of that old Wendy's commercial where the contents of the sandwich was not visible between the bread. I know why they have such a low score. I have been to several different Panera Breads but this one by far was the worst. The chicken with wild rice soup was made with white rice not wild rice and it was very soupy. They gave me two plates to carry the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup on when the other locations can handle both on one plate. Just not impressed with them. read more

There is just no way to describe this sandwich except to show the pics. The caprese sandwich looked so good in their advertised picture and their description was wonderful. What I received was pathetic. It was just soggy lettuce with a tiny slice of tomato. No mozzarella or other described ingredients. This is the second time this has happened. I came out about 11:00 am on Feb. 14 after renewing my driver's license down the road at the DMV. At first glance it doesn't look like a typical Panera Bread. But I have a feeling that PB is taking a page out of Starbucks' play book by buying up run-down historical buildings in need of repairs. Then They restoring them to full glory and using them as commercial retail space. It's good for the community, its gets them good publicity and they get a great location for practically nothing. Win. (As you may know the NHR is pretty strict about what you can and can't do and they don't care if it will cost you an extra $10K to install the correct historically accurate whatever...you can sue all day long and you will lose...Case in point the Texaco gas station in historic Roswell, Ga...the short version...When Texaco wanted to put a store in historic Roswell-the city told them they had to build the station up to historical code. Texaco sued because this would increase their building cost. Of course they lost despite their army of $800 an hour fancy lawyers....I'm betting the money they spent in court was more than what they would of been spending on building the station to historical code.) Any way...back to Panera Bread...you can tell they put a lot of thought into how the building will fit into the whole infrastructure of the community. Everything from the lighting fixture to the distressed bricks used makes it look like it's always been a part of the neighborhood. Besides the beautiful building and its historical significance...there is the excellent service that I received from the lovely staff here. A special shout out to Yolanda for taking the time to explain various items on the lunch menu to what her favorite items are to offering daily specials. I really appreciate her patience and professionalism. I got their pick 2 special with a coffee. It consist of half a mediterranean veggie sandwich, french onion soup, an apple (cut up...I've been to many Paneras and this is the first time anyone has ever offered to cut up an apple for me. Thanks) I was offered a cookie for an additional 99 cents which I couldn't pass up. My food was bought out by a smiling blonde woman who thanked me for my order and wish me bon appetite! Then after I finished eating someone offered to take my empty plate & soup bowl. Wow...this too has never happened to me at a Panera Bread! After having a very poorly put together caprese sandwich tonight, I came home with a stomach ache. This was followed by vomiting and diarrhea. Sadly what use to be a great place for soup, salad, and drinks has turned into a crappy place for young employees to goof off at. They base their food off of being fresh, somewhere from the opening to the start of 2022, they stopped caring. I was given a $14.00 salad with brown spotted lettuce. It wasn't fresh at all. I could not eat it so I called to return it. After having it delivered I discovered the bad lettuce buried under a mound of chicken. Thinking this location would do right by me I called and explained the problem. We came back out to try and get a fresh salad only to be met by a crew of non caring employees. I wasn't rude, I wasn't mad I was mostly upset due to the lack of caring so close to closing. You manager on duty didn't even bother to ask what size my salad was she just disappeared to the back and made a half salad. At $14.00 I purchased a whole salad. So not to waste any more of her time I asked for a refund. All anyone asks is for a little customer service. We tipped your delivery person too and we always tip and appreciate hardworking customer service staff. I m not happy that I didn't get to eat on this night and hope you can do better. read more

Very pleasantly surprised by how large this Panera is considering it's in a downtown area. The outside seating area is extensive and cozy. The inside is also quite large and cozy. We came in for breakfast and enjoyed bagels. They were delicious and I'm excited to come back and enjoy a meal outside. Welcome to Canton Panera! It's right smack in downtown Canton. Complete with bakery and drive thru; there is a God :) If you want a quick healthy bite to eat without the fast food feel, this is it. The portions are healthy and tasty. I had the pick two; turkey sandwich with chicken noodle soup. The Goddess salad looked amazing too. It's by far the most trendy, modern & beautiful location yet (see pics & video of outside patio complete with water fountain and music under the patio umbrellas). No more driving to Woodstock. Tons of parking in the rear, or free street parking in the front, on Main Street. To think, this used to be Cherokee County's Dept. Of Education. The building has entrances all the way around. I frequent this Panera at least twice a month maybe more. This establishment needs to employ people who take pride in their work, as the customer service is truly lacking. Last 4 out of 4 visits not once was I asked for my Panera number. Yesterday was truly the worst visit. I ordered a sandwich, and it took over 30 minutes to get. Their was a young woman sitting by the food pick up acting as if she is management. I asked her about the delay and she replied about labor and supply shortages, no apology. Yes I am very aware, as is all Americans are by now, but that doesn't explain a 30 minute wait time. I finally asked the the food preparer about my order. She apologized and stated she thought it was a duplicate order. She immediately set to make a new sandwich for me. I mentioned to the young woman on the phone that if I was management I would be assisting in helping in anyway needed, as therecwere dirty dishes sitting within 3 feet of her for over an hour. She stated that she was in training. All my previous jobs, while in training, entailed actually working. I guess things have changed. Inflation will make me reconsider my restaurant choices. Forgive me if I would like to be greeted in a friendly manner, ask for my Panera number, and receive good service. To say the least this Panera has never had the best track record with service, but yesterday was rock bottom. BLOWING IN THE WIND I live in the area and frequent this location often; most of the time leaving frustrated or disappointed. They're always out of stuff and act like it's no big deal because after all it's just a bunch of high school students running the cafe. Not only do they NOT LISTEN to the order when you place it thru the drive thru but they act like THEY COULD CARE LESS about YOU AS A CUSTOMER. They get my order wrong a lot and DON'T EVEN CARE. They're ALSO accepting credit cards at the drive thru WINDOW and then going to the back without gloves on and touching food after handling credit cards during the PANDEMIC. There's only one or two employees that actually CARE about CUSTOMER SERVICE. The rest of them need to go to their POOL PARTIES where they belong instead of serving people FOOD. They are a menace to our community and it's no surprise after reading all the negative reviews. Also, one day I was there and outside of their drive thru trash was blowing all over the street and they ignored it....just like they ignore you when you're placing your order because after all, they're only trying to earn money for makeup for their pool parties. Would give this Panera negative stars if I could. This place is right around the corner from my house, so it's convenient which is why I've gone there several times. But every time, except the first has been terrible. The food sucks, and the service is even worse. Today I ordered a cup of coffee and asked that they mix the dark and light roast so I could get a medium roast cup of coffee which is what I like. I got home and it was very weak so I drove back up to ask them to replace it with just the dark roast which I assumed would taste better to me. And it $3.38 a cup, I figured that was not an unreasonable request. I tried first driving to just the window, but no one came to it so I had to circle back around and go through drive thru where you would order. Someone did answer and I explained my problem and she said to come to the window. But a different woman came to the window than originally helped me and answered the intercom at the drive thru, one that was much larger and more man like (if that helps you identify her at all because she should be fired) and she was so extremely rude to me, it was hard to believe. She opened the window, and I went to hand her back my other cup of coffee to which she said nastily, "we can't take that back through the window". And I tried to explain the issue with the coffee and she said with such an ugly tone "Well next time just order the dark roast" and shut the door in my face and walked away. Needless to say it made me angry to be spoken to that way. And I've gone to Panera's in other areas in the past and to be honest, I'm not sure how this company stays in business because I've never really experienced great service. The food is just ok. And the whole issue with SIPS has me wondering how they stay in business at all. The company needs to train their employees to provide some good customer service - like Chik Fil A does....I'll never ever spend my hard earned money there again. I wasn't sure if I had came off the wrong way, so after asking about the salad, before asking about a particular soup, I apologized for being a pain. The guy working just stared at me. His attitude continued when my mom ordered. We received our food, and our silverware was dirty with food on it, attitude when we asked for butter for our bread. And when we asked for new silverware they rolled their eyes and gave us packaged utensils, as if we were being dramatic. We weren't complaining about watermarks on the cutlery lol. I love Panera Bread but this location is probably one of the most disappointing I have ever been to. I was meeting a colleague and arrived early to grab a booth. Unfortunately, the majority of the dining room had tables that were not cleaned and sanitized. Also, there was so much trash on the carpet and in the booths that you saw other customers wiping the area themselves so that they could have a place to sit. I was able to get an associate, Nathan, to seep the floor under my booth because it looked like it had been days since someone had done so. (He had to get on his knees to sweep up the trash) While sitting, I observed a spider crawling on the wall. When I made the manager, Cheyenne aware, her reply was, "Oh well, our dining room person doesn't come in for another 30-minutes". So I brought up the fact in how we are literally living through the coronavirus pandemic and how there were six other associates walking around. Her reply, "Well, they're about to be on break". That was not the type of response I was looking for from someone in leadership. She took zero ownership, did not apologize, nor did she ask any other team members to the clean the dining room. read more

Issue: Panera staff not the food It's 7:45 on a Saturday evening . I came into Panera to bring home my sick wife a bowl of soup and the rest of my family a little bite of dinner. We love Panera , quality is always there in there food and normally in there customer service . Unfortunately the many times I have frequented this brand new store it has not been great. I have extensive issues with this culture of "flamboyant" personalities that insist the only way they can make there point is by being sarcastic , speaking there mind out loud or making big deals of small things from tone of there voice. As I sat and waited for my to go order I was facing the kitchen . The "flamboyant" personality preparing the food made a loud and not needed comment about how I requested 3 sides of ranch with my order in the comment section. His exact wording was "well that's not going to happen" he also questioned how we can even put comments like that in there self serve system and proceeded to be this way when I called him out on it. I saw order was ready and came to grab it and said "since I now know you have no ranch because "that's not going to happen" is there anything else you don't have ? He informed me the cobblestone I ordered was also not available. And then made a sarcastic comment about that is all we don't have this evening . Let's make this very clear Panera employee (decided not to use gender) . I'm not better than you and we are equal in every way. I won't even tell you my experience or justify why I have a clear understanding of why what you did was very rude and wrong but.... you need to keep your thoughts to yourself when working and representing a company that you represent in a negative or positive way by your words and actions. Unfortunately Panera's mission statement concentrates more on food then on service but I'm sure that your general and district manager would agree they both are equally important. I plan on coming in weekly since I live a mile away and enjoy the beautiful place Panera is offering us to dine in. I've always liked Panera Bread and frequent the North Point (Alpharetta) and Woodstock Georgia locations. The relatively-new downtown Canton location has a LOT to learn though. I've been here maybe four times since they opened and all visits have been problematic. I'll focus on the two visits I've made here in 24 hours. Yesterday, I went through the drive-thru to get a coffee, ordering very-specifically "large decaf coffee with cream and Equal". I was presented at the window with the coffee and a small bag with cream and sweetener. I drove to my final destination and opened the bag, only to find bags of sugar instead of Equal. After I finished at my quick stop, I decided to go back to Panera and have them exchange my coffee. If they gave me sugar instead of Equal, who's to say I actually had decaf as well. I can't have caffeine, so it made sense. Parked my car and went inside. While waiting in line, I saw a kitchen staffer walk from the back to the counter to get an egg soufflé for what I suppose is a drive thru guest and as she reached over a dish of chocolate croissants, her sweatshirt sleeve dragged through them to the point of moving them around on the display dish. "Gross" was my first thought. Why? Because it's December in 2020 and there's a pandemic. I don't know where her sweatshirt has been, whether it was clean, or who/what the sweatshirt sleeve has been in contact with. Once the person at the counter helped me, I explained about my coffee problem and she was quick to point out that thery have three different sweeteners labeled as "Equal". Sure enough, the pink, yellow, and blue packets all said "Equal" in addition to "saccharin", "sucralose" and nothing but Equal on the blue packet. I then pointed out to her again that I was given white packets that read "Sugar" in nice big letters. Once that was settled, I pointed out the croissant/sleeve interaction. She brought a manager up and we discussed both issues again with way too much emphasis on the sweetener topic. I guess the manager was trying to defend her drive thru staff by explaining that there are three different sweeteners called "Equal". Well, I think most people who use sweeteners OTHER than sugar know Equal is the same as Nutrasweet (aspartame) and comes in a blue packet. We also know Splenda (sucralose) is in a yellow packet and "Sweet n Low" (saccharin) is in a pink packet. So if Panera Bread is STUPID enough to buy sweeteners from a supplier that are all marked as "Equal" (which I believe was not likely done by the fine makers of Equal or their generic suppliers), then I can't help that. The funniest part is that the kid at the window just gave me sugar anyway. By the way, the croissants were never replaced because I ordered a bagel and when I left, the croissants were still there. Fast forward to today. I accidentally took the little pager/coaster home with me. It was in my jacket pocket and had never vibrated, oops. So I decided to come back this morning and return the pager, while getting a bagel with peanut butter. I had the same nice lady at the counter again and I know she recognized me because she looked a tad nervous. I ordered one of those flat top sprouted grain bagel flats because this location apparently doesn't make the whole grain bagels. Much to my shock, this location also doesn't have peanut butter either, not even in prepacked servings. The young lady at the pickup window explained that they discontinued peanut butter months ago and took their PBJ sandwich off the menu. I said ok and told them cream cheese would fine since they waited until AFTER I placed my order to tell me they didn't have it. In all honesty, the nice lady at the counter said that she didn't see it as an option when she rang me up but said she'd check. I got my order and as you can see from the attached photo, the bagel flat is very small. Like about 2.5 inches across. Good thing I bought a scone too! Yeah, I think maybe it's time to quit going here because they're 0 for 4 thus far. As empty as this place is in the morning, I can't believe they're still in business -and it was like this before COVID. My wife works in the building next door and said their lunch business seems solid but I'd bet it's empty at dinner too. It's a very clean location, but service is clearly poor and they don't have the same items as other locations. read more

After going for a "Sunday Funday" drive in the northern country for a few hours we passed some really good diners. (seriously lacking in this department up here in the Woodstock/Canton/Ballground area) at the last part of our drive we settled in grabbing a bite at the new Panera in downtown Canton. New logo? New digs? Newly renovated school house? Take every old concept that you knew about Panera Bread out the window. What you would find is a huge dining room with a warm and welcoming contemporary decor coupled with a new computer menu/ordering system in which you can modify your choices to your liking. Once you put the order in and pay for it, you input the number and they will bring it to your table if it is to dine in. Typical breakfast fare was had here, I had the egg white grain sandwich with tomatoes, spinach, and feta. With a coffee. The wife had the ham and cheese soufflé. Which didn't disappoint but curious on why puff pastry was the base for this menu item. She also had a coffee as well. Price is reasonable, the ambiance is light and airy with a lot of natural outdoor lighting setting in. With Reinhardt college nearby this will be a hit in the not too distant future. If it isn't already... I'll say it again, Canton needs help in making this beautiful town lively. Bringing in an excellent diner would pul the masses in at all hours of the day this bringing more business... Until next time MUGS UP! read more
