Have been coming here monthly since September 2025 because I found Ella, my go to masseuse. I often struggle with masseuse's going too deep and even tho I will say too much, they continue trying the same pressure in other areas. Ella is perfect. I almost always fall asleep when I come see her from how relaxed I am from her massage. They have great deals and a large parking lot. They have an automated phone message service that will text you if they miss your call. I find this process convenient and effective since there's virtually no wait to schedule an appointment. I had a really great experience here. I felt like I was massaged from head to toes and my whole body feels so much more relaxed now. I really liked that I got a quick head and face massage as well. I wasn't expecting that at all. But the reason for my 4 stars is because someone was vacuuming during my session and it bothered me a bit. The walls are really thin so you can hear people talking too. I was hoping the room would be a bit dim but the lights were on so it was a bit distracting when I was facing the ceiling. 5 stars is not enough for this salon no would give 7 stars. So accommodating and nice. I wanted a leg wax before the weekend. I called 2 salons and they were busy. I think called La Choza. They were also busy but the guy who answered said he would call me back. About 10 minutes later I got a call back and they accommodated my needs. OMG my husband and I had an awesome time here! Such a beautiful day spa! We had a couple's massage and it was perfect. The rooms are dark and it had candles and rose petals everywhere. Before we got on our beds, they had us change into robes and and slippers. We also did a couple's pedicure and they served use drinks and strawberries! We felt so spoiled and pampered. Badgering people both on the phone and on the internet is not a good way to attact customers that may review yelp before deciding on a buisness to visit. I am sure Rosa can be an excellent massage therapist as you have stated, however, that was not my experience on that day and time. Angelica called me this week and was incredibly rude as a few people with me overheard for themselves.. She was confrontational, inconsiderate- perhaps check to see if someone has time to discuss something to allow them to do it in a more private setting rather than putting yourself and your business on blast for acting unprofessional. No one said it was impossible for a massage therapist to also be licensed in cosmetology, it is rare in the area to see. An individual should not have to ask to see a person's license as it is supposed to be up clearly visible near their station. Angelica please do not contact me again as there was no useful discussion that could possibly come out of your confrontational attitude and just deal with the fact that your business will at time receive negative reviews. As something was said by both my boyfriend and myself about the massages both during to our massage therapists and to the receptionist there is no hiding. The star if the aspa is the staff. They are not just friendly and nice, but gifted in regards of massaging skills. Elizabeth in particular is unbelievable. I have been doing deep tissue and muscle relaxing massages for more than 15 years (at different countries where I have lived through the years) and no one has been able to help me the way she has. She is so thorough and detail oriented. You might feel a bit sore after your session but the short and long term benefits of her massage are priceless. If there is something I am not too keen of, is the spa rooms decor, which are not bad, but they are just not what I was expecting considering that there are other Spas with the same prices,and better image. I went in for a spa day and I received 4 services. I had a prenatal massage, cucumber facial, manicure and a pedicure. I had the best prenatal massage by Kathy. She was simply amazing and really knew the best spots to relieve tension. Kathy was kind and very knowledgeable. I had Kristen for the facial, and she was also great. The facial was very relaxing and left my face super soft and rejuvenated. I've had about 5 facials within the past few years and this was the best. I also had Kristen for the gel manicure and pedicure. The mani/pedi went great. Kristin was gentle yet effective with her work. They a decent variety of nail polishes so I was happy with the selection (especially since they are a spa and not necessarily a nail salon). Overall I was extremely satisfied with my services. I don't understand how La Choza is rated so low on here. I mean better for me because that means more time for me in this Gem of a spa. I had a massage from the owner who started her own company 13 years ago and also runs a HITT studio (which I will try). For being 26 my body is messed up. My days are spent sitting in a car to my work an hour away, sitting at my desk at work, then another hour back to De Anza, then sitting in class. It doesn't help that I sit extremely slouched over and type in a trex pose. I don't stretch, I haven't worked out, honestly- just not taking the best care of myself. Anyways, lol. I got off a plane today after three hours of sitting and said enough is enough- I need a message so I called 10 places, finally someone returned my call and it was La Choza. If you complain on yelp but don't say something in person the only person you have to blame is you. Everyone likes different intensity. I received a Spa Finder gift card and this place was the closet to me that accepted the card. The website is very deceiving. I saw a lot of services I was interested in that I haven't seen elsewhere. I called and booked an appointment. I showed up early for my appointment and was told that. I said I didn't mind waiting until my appointment time but I got a sense that she was disturbed by me being there early. She said the girl would take me early and walked me back to a room. I was a bit taken back by what I saw. No spa chairs with bubbling water. Instead there were regular chairs like you would have at home. There was a stainless steel bowl with what looked like dish soap in it. The nail cutters and other implements they use were just sitting on a dirty shelf not in a sterilized package. The woman asked if the water was hot enough and I said no. She came back with a smaller steel bowl and poured more water in. She asked if I wanted my nails cut and I said yes since had been awhile. She took one foot out at a time and put them on what looked like a 10 year old dirty bath towel on her lap. I had to scoot down in my chair in order to get the angle she needed to work on my feet. All I got was my nails half ass cut and filed and then polish applied. All the services I saw available online were never offered to me. The service was switched to another woman about 10 minutes in so the person working on me could go finish a massage. She came back to complain about what the man wanted done. After my pedicure I got my manicure. The same girl who finished my pedicure did my manicure. When I said I needed gel polish she informed me that's not what was written down for my appointment. I told her I was never asked what I wanted when I booked other than a manicure and pedicure. The manicure was just like the pedicure. I got my hand put in a small stainless steal bowl. My nails were cut and filed and gel applied. There was no cuticle care, no massage, no lotion nothing. The implements again we're not taken from a sterilized package. They were just lying around and were put back to the same place after used. I honestly was shocked at the services provided. I didn't see a single license hanging where I was which makes me wonder if anyone had any formal schooling. In 9 days after my services my fingernail gel peeled off. I have never had gel just peel off in whole pieces. Every single finger. Their website says 14 days so I emailed them and am waiting for a response. I will never return to this place and encourage people to not go there either. I have one toe that has become red and swollen and am praying it isn't an infection caused by this. *UPDATE*. It's been 2 weeks since reaching out to the business via email and phone with no response. I did report them to the State as I don't believe anyone is licensed and they don't seem to bother following sterilization of tools that I was able to see. read more

I have been a spa patron for over 20 years. Throughout my travels I have enjoyed everything from Canyon Ranch to great little hole-in-wall spas tucked away in some hidden corner. Earlier this month I was taking a walk in my Aunt's neighborhood looking for a Starbucks and happened to find La Choza Day Spa. My nails were in need of repair so I thought La Choza looked like a safe choice. La Choza is decorated "cute" spa-ish motif and looked OK; however I noticed there were no customers. I selected one of the most expensive manicure treatments at $45. My manicurist was ill-skilled and gave me the worst manicure I have ever had and had no idea how to do a French manicure (I had to coach her); and took a very long time. She was uncertain, hesitant and obviously did not know what she was doing. My cuticles were ragged, the ridges were prominent and unbuffed, the white polish portion of my French manicure was clumpy & uneven and there was messy residual polish on the skin and finger tips around each nail. Upon checking out, I explained my dissatisfaction and the problem but the clueless girls sitting at the front counter lacked any customer service skills and said "Oh, I'm so sorry," but offered nothing. When I asked weren't they concerned about this problem, they said, that I could come back and have the manicurist re-paint my nails. Wrong answer, if she couldn't do it correct the first time, how in the world could she possibly do it right a second time? This spa gets a -10. read more

This place is very disorganized........ I can't believe I paid $50 Groupon for this kinda service! I will not recommend it if u need to pay AT ALL.... They cancelled my appointment the day of and told me they left me a message to reschedule since my esthetician has an emergency..... No message on my phone. Okay....may be it was ATT's fault..... The day spa was nicely decorated and clean, but during my facial, my esthetician's (Rosa) phone was buzzing NON STOPPED for the first 30 mins...... I told her she should pick up since it was getting kinda annoying..... she felt really bad and had to make a few phone calls for people to pick up her son. After her calls, she will have one hand massaging my head and one hand texting whoever that needs to pick up her son...... I had a Groupon for La Choza and decided to get a facial, since my skin's been feeling quite dry these days. My appointment was at 10, but La Choza's website said to come fifteen minutes early so I arrived at 9:45. Oops! The spa wasn't open yet, and nobody was there. I walked around the shopping center for fifteen minutes, until the receptionist opened the door to bring out a sign for the spa's services. The spa is very cute. It's all one large room, divided up into smaller rooms, and it has a lot of character. When you enter, one of the first thing you see is the Mission-style facade with fake windows painted to show Mexican landscapes. I was led to the changing rooms at the back - very unusual, every other spa I've gone to for a facial has had me change in the room where I received the service - and the lockers, where I was instructed to put my things. After putting on a robe, I went to the waiting area, which seemed a little silly since I was the only person there. Why not put me directly in the room? But sure, whatever works. That said, I am glad I came early in the day; I would have felt awkward changing and waiting around in a robe with other customers milling around. The facial rooms are very colorful, which I liked. Usually when you go to the spa everything is all chrome and neutral colors; I liked the almost party atmosphere of the decor. Granted, it's not 'calming' but it makes me think of a vacation, which still has the desired effect of relieving stress, right? Rosa was my aesthetician, and she was very quiet. I wasn't particularly in the mood for conversation so skipping the banal chatter was fine with me. She worked efficiently but carefully; when she wasn't pampering my skin she was massaging my scalp, neck, and arms. I have some dry patches of skin on my décolletage, and Rosa treated that area with the same attention as my face. By the end of the treatment I was relaxed and my tension had drained away. (I should have done this yesterday, before I gave a presentation in my art history class!) I also just realized that at no point did Rosa tell me what she was doing, what ingredients she was using, or even what kind of facial I was getting. On the one hand, it was nice to avoid the obnoxious upselling that I often experience at spas; but on the other, what the heck was put on my face? When I was ready to leave, the receptionist didn't ask me if I wanted to book my next appointment. I guess I'm just used to that, since most of the other spas I've been to do their best to get me to commit to coming back before I'm out the door. Was it because I used a Groupon? Or was I an unpleasant customer? I'm probably over-thinking it, but I wondered about it on the drive home. Overall impression: While nothing about La Choza completely blew me away, I enjoyed my time there and would go back. Edit to add: At other spas I've been to, the aesthetician's credentials were placed prominently on the walls of the front desk, or in the service room itself. After reading some other reviews for La Choza, which vocalize suspicion that not all the employees here are properly trained, I felt compelled to add that while I enjoyed my experience, it is also true that nowhere did I see anyone's certification displayed. read more

I recently had a massage from a masseuse other than Angelica and I was a bit worried (Rosa)... she gave me an amazing relaxing massage.... she was on par with Angelica's magic hands as well. I get a LOT of massages, but I come here to get the nice relaxing Swedish massages. I don't recommend them for their main/pedicures... I'm 5'9 and it was very uncomfortable sitting in their "jimmy rigged" chairs and keeping my leg on the girls lap long enough for her to give me a very uncomfortable pedi. The facial was very nice as well. First time I'd gotten one at this location. The esthecian did a great job of changing what I ordered to what she thought would be better for my skin. I found this place on Spafinder.com because I had a gift certificate. I was a little hesistant to book an appointment because of some of the mixed reveiws I read but everyone else was busy and they could see me right away. I wanted a one hour Swedish massage and thier going rate was $90, which is kinda high considering how competitive the Bay Area is. They were offering 25% off all services this month, so it ended up being $63. Rosa gave me one of the best massages and I had to fight from falling asleep because it was so relaxing with her technique, the dim lighting and the sound of waves crashing. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because they use a lot of oil and it would have been nice if they wipe you down, like some other spas do. I love La Choza! I used their March Deal: 60 minute massage and 60 minute facial for $120- great deal! Made an appointment and the receptionist was very helpful and funny! I loved their shower room/bathrooms/changing rooms! Rosa did my massage and she was very friendly. The previous week, I had a massage @ Let's Face It and came to La Choza to fix the problems I had. I told Rosa where I needed work and it felt she was working my upper back for an hour. I think I was there for an hour an a half and I paid for a 60 min massage! She is very thorough and she will work you! Even down to your toes! Ahhhh it was so nice, this placed really impressed me! I loved how the room was warm and it was dark with lit candes. I just wished she warmed her lotions and oils she placed on me...but it was pretty damn good overall! I was so sad (and sleepy) when my massage was done. I felt so relaxed and my muscles didn't hurt me! Then I was left in the waiting room for my facial with Kirstin. Omg this girl can talk! Hahah and I loved it! She is super outgoing and she did such a great job on my facial. I originally wanted a Vitamin C facial but she went against that and did another type of facial. I didn't know what it was called but OMG she is soooo good! I felt so relax and she really cleaned my pores. I loved the masks she placed on me and it all smelt great! She gave me a sample of the cleanser and it has really helped my skin. I even bout a spot treatment and that works wonders! Great price, great service, and great staff! Both did a great job. Kristin, the manager, was such a great person to work with as well. i had a citrus pedicure with Kirstin at La Choza. She was careful and did a great job on my toenails, was friendly and fun to talk to during the pedicure. the price was excellent value. I've had concerns about storefront pedicure places ever since that cleanliness issue a few years ago, but this place smelled great and it was quite clean. It may not be as "chi chi' as some spas but the pedicure i got is half the price of the high end spas, and they didn't try to hit me up and the end of the appointment with all kinds of products. That is a relief if you want quality without being hard-sold at the end. They are very gracious there. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing experience and my nails look great. The lady was quite nice. Experience 1st treatment: body scrub- amazing! She made me feel comfortable and the. What a surprise, since she had finished the body treatment supposed to me 50 mins, she filled the extra time with a wonderful massage. At this point I'm having such a lovely time. And I'm thinking everything will be great from here. WRONG. 2nd treatment: massage. A different lady was scheduled to do my massage. I have never wanted to end a massage early in my life but she made me keep thinking "is it almost time? " Her hands were so cold, had long nails that were scratching me, wore these clackitey shows knowing she was going to walk around a ceramic floor. Yes, I filled out a question aire in the beginning and stated my neck was tense but I did not know that meant to do the same exact motion just on my neck and not massage anywhere else. I was able to communicate my needs during the massage for her. Then, I had a pedicure done. It felt good to have my legs and feet exfoliated and massaged. There was a bit of a wait while everything was prepped, however I was pleasantly surprised by the soaking tub with flower petals in it. The ambiance is nice and not uptight or stuffy like some spas. My pedicure lasted a long time, and didn't chip off like some do. (I've had expensive stuffy spas results last much less.) I ran out of time to do my nails, but will definitely go back again! The salon isn't exactly in the best location. But I thought, some of the best places are in strange locations. They were really nice to me inside. They give you a locker to remove your clothes. A nice plushy robe. And water or tea. They then take you in and ask you about your focus areas. I was expecting super deluxe spa things. In the end, I just got a regular facial. My trouble spots didn't even seem touched. The lady gave an uneven massage. One side of my body was more relaxed than the other. I'm all about balance so equal sided massage is always nice. Okay, peoples, here is the rundown on the massage aspects of La Choza. I have had it done by their three masseuses Rosa: Okay masseuse, a little rough around the edges, but if you want the nit and grit, she's your girl. Girl 2: (sorry can't remember name) She's great for either the pure relaxation and the deep tissue. But you get what you ask for, if you're getting the pure relax, she won't apply more pressure than what the massage calls for. But the girl's soft soothing techniques will put you to sleep. Pure relaxation in every sense of the word. I however, have pain issues, not sleep issues, but because of my body type, deep tissue is just too much for me. So where is the 5 stars coming from? It comes from Angelica!!! Angelica: Store owner and masseuse extraordinaire. I go once a month to see her, just her. She always remembers all my trouble spots and weak spots. She takes extra care to make sure works my knots out. She spends the majority of the time working on trouble spots, like I mean the majority of the time. I like that she has personally tailored a massage for me. It did take a few times to get to this point (she has to get to know you first), but now that I'm there, I won't go anywhere else. Their prices are decent, but they have specials every month that makes their services a great deal. I thin I only had to pay full price for their massage twice, ever, in the almost three years I have been here. Their frequent buyer card also helps make this a great deal, knocking off a whopping 30% off the sixth visit. Okay, so my secret's out.
