Everything here tastes like an 8 year old made it...by that I mean it's greasy, over spiced, and spiced with the wrong tastes. I had hot wings and fried rice and neither of them tasted right. Came here yesterday after my mouth was craving more crawfish lol I've heard of this place but never been.. Sooooooo good! I got 3 lbs of Cajun medium, 1 lb of shrimp (Cajun medium also) & 2 potatoes. The shrimp were pretty huge! The crawfish flavors were garlic butter, Cajun and hot & sour. We got there about 4 so it wasn't super busy but as 6 o'clock rolled around, there was a line forming outside the door. All the staff were nice & the place is set up nicely with several TVs and plenty seating, which is also good for groups. If you don't eat crawfish there are other items on the menu. If you are a real eater of crawfish then skip this place. These were on par with Chinese buffet crawfish. That muddy taste with no flavor. Ordered one pound to start spicy,was asked if wanted corn and potatoes. I say one of each and how how about a blue crab. I didn't want it to taste like crawfish, well how they should taste, and wanted more of a crab boil flavor. Was told to get butter and garlic. When I sit down I look at bill to see why so much and see he added sausage to the ticket. Not sure if a mistake or way to upsell without the customer knowing. Food comes out and the crawfish were small. Most had been crush, like when they sit around a long time. Not firm, not fresh from the pot. I do think these are steamed in the bag they come in. The crab came a few minutes later. Came with claw crackers. This is important to note because the crab did not come with the claws. You know one of the best parts of a 3.99 crab. The crab comes UNCLEANED so be prepared and hopefully you know how to clean the crab or you are SOL. The main legs were missing with the claws. Asked the two guys where are the claws. First guy acted like I was speaking a foreign language. The other guy who seemed to be in charged, looked at me like I was crazy. For 3.99 I want my claws. I did have the crackers already lol. I did see a sign saying 1.00 deposit on them too. I didn't pay a deposit. Ten min later I go and ask where my claws are and the reply was they didn't come with any. We didn't get those crabs. Um ok. Overall it's a pass. The crawfish aren't good and are not a Cajun flavor. No clue how all the people there were eating so many of these that tasted bad. read more

Crawfish: 3.5 stars I've been here twice. The first time the four of us got 20 lbs of crawfish!! We tried both cajun and garlic butter. The hot and sour seasoning didn't sound as appealing, reminded me of hot and sour soup at Chinese restaurants. We also got wings (see rant below), fries, and snow crab legs. The second time I came with my boyfriend and got 8-9 lbs of crawfish, wings, and fries. I like my crawfish savory (dry seasoning) medium spicy. I'm not a big fan of crawfish soaked in oil, butter, and bits of garlic. Naturally, I enjoyed the cajun seasoning way more but the garlic butter wasn't too bad (not too oily). The first time I came here was early on in the season around the beginning of March. I was impressed by the size of the crawfish and the flavors. The second time, the crawfish were slightly overcooked and I didn't enjoy them as much as I did before. Somewhat disappointing that the quality wasn't consistent. Crawfish and Beignets in HK4 is still my all time favorite. Wings: 5 stars The reason I want to come back is for their five spice and basil wings. My boyfriend thinks they taste like tap chicken nuggets but in wing form. They are crispy, but not too greasy. Super flavorful dry rub and easy to eat if you already have gloves on (for the crawfish). Fries: 5 stars They come out of the fryer piping hot, so let them cool off before you burn the tips of your fingers or tongue. Goes great with ketchup or mayo. read more

This place is amazing and as the current Duke I cannot tell you more than I can show you. The staff is polite, the food is on point. And it is a lot closer than the one in ranch 99. Stay away from the crawfish cheese rolls and the Thai basil oysters. But everything else I would recommend wholeheartedly. This place is what heaven is like. They capture the flavors so well. I honestly just came here because my friends and I wanted crawfish and it was the closest one to us. I ordered just a pound of crawfish, potatoes and corn. The atmosphere was very chill and the staff was nice. I got the cajun flavor I believe and it was meh. The crawfish color was just off (red flag, because I did not feel good after I ate here. It was basically dead...) and the potatoes were pretty hard? I have to say though, as a vietnamese person, I was very thrown off by the crawfish pho they had on the menu...I was super scared to try it haha. I really don't understand what's all the hype of this place, I came to try it today and I was begin disappointed to start off it's false advertisement about how big their crawfish is!!! Maybe it's that time of year, but for what we were paying ($6.99/lb) for crawfish, we had lots of mudbugs that were extremely small and had even smaller tails. I got a couple of pounds, and friends got another 3 or 4, and the results were pretty much the same. Additionally, some of the crawfish had black/brown undersides, which I've been told is an indicator that they're not exactly fresh anymore. If anyone has thoughts on their freshness, please let me know. I've been to other LA Crawfish locations and haven't been disappointed, but this visit made me sad. read more

This place was a little pricier than other crawfish restaurants because you have to purchase the corn, potatoes, and sausage separately rather than it be included in there. They have three flavors to choose from: garlic and butter, cajun, and sweet and sour. I mixed the garlic and butter with the cajun, and they charged me $1 more. I can tell they're trying to make money everywhere they can. The place is small, and you have to serve yourself by putting out the tablecloth, getting your own water and utensils, and throwing out your trash. They have two big screen TVs to watch sports on. We got 2 types of crawfish (cajun spicy & garlic butter) which were pretty good and crazy spicy but overall the crawfish were small to medium sized versus other places. We got few pounds of blue crab which were so old and/or overcooked it was like eating fishy mashed potatoes- i do NOT recommend the crab & this place loses points for having funky water creatures when thats their specialty. Came with friends to get a crawfish fix and was not disappointed. I had eaten down the street at another place a week prior and they were small to medium. These were medium to large and overall the place was very impressive. I've never had garlic butter crawfish, just cajun. We shared both and they were delicious! You have your choice of medium, spicy and something else. When they say spicy, they aren't playing. We were crying laughing at how hot they were. I am really liking the new location. Beware though because they are BUSY. We came here on a Tuesday night and it was packed solid and this parking lot gets full fast. Right now the crawfish are still a bit small because the of the harsh weather, but the crawfish aren't frozen and the flavors are great. I love the fresh oysters on the menu now. We tried the Japanese ponzu which was a bit sweet for my taste. The Thai chili was really good and not too spicy at all. If anything it could be a little spicier for me. The Garlic Butter Crawfish and Snow Crabs are the best! The sausage link and red potatoes on the side are staples when you're having crawfish and they're seasoned to perfection (mouth-watering). I love the fact that they use a lot of garlic and they have extra seasonings and dipping butter to your liking. Let's talk about BYOB...enough said! The staff is down to earth and they make sure you're comfortable. It does get really busy at times but they make sure the seated guests don't feel rushed by the guests waiting in line. This place is great! I stopped by last week with a friend and really enjoyed it. We ordered 5lbs of crawfish and it was really good. What's really cool about this place is that it's BYOB. Even though the crawfish here are pretty reasonably priced it's nice to be able to bring your own booze as to not have to pay a bunch more for alcohol. What's also really cool is that they give you a giant piece if plastic to cover the table so you can get the experience of a backyard boil by getting everything out and all over the table. The food, the selection, and just the casual and relaxed environment with BYOB option - I mean, what else can you ask for. Ive been going out of my way to the Blalock location, for the past year, and this New Yorker is IN LOVE AND HOOKED on these mudbugs. But not just any mudbugs - LA CRAWFISH mudbugs!!! The new location, is so much easier for me to get to, now that it's in the loop; it's in a perfect spot --- parking can be a bit of a challenge due to it sharing with other locations in the strip mall its now located in. But if you get there before end of work, or after the rush hour scene, you should be fine. Great location once again - its right behind the Greenway Movie Theater, and its not too far from my favorite sushi place- OISHII! :) The decor is more sporty, and you are no longer in the middle of an asian supermarket - although thats what made the place on Blalock quirky and unique to me. It's new, so the staff is young and super friendly, and everything just looks new and inviting. 5 star all the way - wish I could give them 10 stars!!! read more

I always wanted a very authentic experience of Cajun seafood but I never thought I'd get it at a Asian market place. It had a simple utilitarian feel to the place with other shops in clear view. The girls at the register were nice enough if not too welcoming. We got at a pound 2 pounds of crawfish and 3 pounds of crabs with different favors. They were very flavorful as they were marinated in steaming hot spicy sauces and were tender and fresh. We had to get very hands on with them and as nasty as it seemed at first, it was very fun. Breaking the heads off shrimp and scaling them was gross but also exciting. The crab was also fun to decompose. The best part was when all the mess was suddenly gone with one fell sweep of picking up the tablecloth. Overall I would highly recommend this place. read more

Food has no flavor. Vietnamese imitated cajun food which shouldn't even be called cajun. I got a shrimp fried rice and crawfish tails. The rice has no flavor, barely any egg and got 4 shrimps. I ended up chewing something very crunchy which I suppose is an egg shell. Also the shrimp was very dry somehow. The crawfish tails are ok just a very small portion for the amount paid and once I made it to the bottom it was just fried pieces with no crawfish. This is my first time trying and I am highly disappointed. There are SO MANY great crawfish places in town that do a good job with their seasoning and the cooking of their crawfish. Every time I have come to LA Crawfish, the crawfish doesn't taste fresh and is usually overcooked. I am not sure if they use frozen crawfish or not, but it doesnt match up to par with some others in town. Their pho is average in my opinion, but I would come here for crawfish over pho. It just happens to be the only crawfish in the area for work, so when the craving is strong enough, it is the closest thing I can get for a quick lunch. Their flavors are pretty good. It is not very spicy, so ask for extra spicy if you like it hot. They do, however, have AMAZING WINGS! I have no idea what they fry them in, but they are so good! read more

This location is pretty popular, so it's usually pretty busy during any lunch/dinner rush. Parking in this plaza can get pretty crazy and annoying if you come at a busy time. I've had LA crawfish several times and every time I go, it's only alright. The crawfish isn't as flavorful as other places I've been to. I've come back several times to see if anything changes since last time, but it's always the same. Their wings, however, are very flavorful. The texture is always crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Aside from crawfish and wings, they also offer a lot of other dishes like pho, crab, chicken bites, oysters, etc. I'd probably only come here again if a group of friends wants crawfish and it's in the area, otherwise I'd probably stick to my preferred crawfish restaurants. read more

.I stopped in to this location at 10:59 today (they open at 11) I wasn't feeling well and wanted to get an order of Pho. The "Open" sign was turned on so I went inside. As soon as I walked in, I saw a male and a female behind the counter. Naturally, I approach to place my order. I was immediately greeted by a statement and a look of irritation. I did not get a "Good morning or How may I help you" but what I did get from the guy was "Could you give us a couple of minutes?" I get that people run behind occasionally, but I have a couple of issues with this: 1. Turn the "Open" sign off and keep your doors locked if you're not ready to serve patrons. 2. Why do you need a couple of minutes when you literally open in 1 minute??? 3. At least greet your customer first before acting like their presence is an inconvenience to you, it's literally the LEAST you could do. 4. The lady at the counter never even looked up from what she was doing to offer a greeting either. 5. The 1 star I did give them was because it smelled AMAZING in there. Nonetheless, I ultimately ended up leaving because I felt the customer service I received was rude and dismissive, so I will gladly keep my little old $8. read more

The seafood at this place was flavorful beyond belief; it did not disappoint! I tried the vermicelli bowl with shrimp and crawfish. It was quite garlic-y and spicy, but still enjoyable (but if you can't handle the heat, do not order this!). My boyfriend had a pound of crawfish with the creole seasoning, and he loved them! I've never seen crawfish disappear that quickly, but I guess that's because he's a good ole New Orleans boy. Service aside, the big hook for me for any place is the taste of the food. And LA Crawfish never fails to deliver. The service is okay, the place is okay, the prices are okay, but the food is always phenomenal. From their the great options they have for their crawfish and and seasonings and their Vietnamese selection, I've never been disappointed. I don't come here often. But every time I come here I consistently ask myself, "Why the hell don't I come here more often?!"
