We ate here after full day of snowboarding and it 100% hit the spot. We did the hot pot special. The broth was delicious and there was a wide variety of vegetables and goodies to add to it. We used an iPad to order our meats and they came readily to our table. The lamb was our favorite! The staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself was clean and tidy. Overall a wonderful experience!

Came in on a Saturday for two people around 5:00pm and was seated quickly. Restaurant was about half full Decided to do the hotpot and Korean bbq all you can eat. Service was quick and attentive. Overall area and table was a bit dirty. It is not listed but you are able to split the broths and order two. Decided on hot & sour and spicy butter. I would say the broths are okay. Sauce bar has a very good selection of items. The sides from kimchi, daikon, and cucumbers were okay as well. Nothing that good. Self serve vegetables and meatball options were pretty standard and had everything. Quality of the meats from bbq were better than the hot pot items but all tasted okay to me. Ordered picked pork belly and short ribs. Best was the pickled pork belly! Only ordered four meats for hot pot since we were a bit short on time. Imitation crab, fatty beef, chicken, and blue crab. Everything tasted okay and the blue crab was pretty dry

I really enjoyed the food we opted into doing the hot pot and barbecue for the both of us. The inside layout is really nice and big. It's an old village Inn converted into a hot pot and barbecue spot. Some of their rice and french fries and sesame balls were hard and cold. Also, there was only one bottle of Sriracha and there was a few parties there so I kind of felt like I was racing to get the Sriracha but overall I really enjoyed my experience here. So for both of us 2 to have hot pot and barbecue and two drinks that ended up costing us about $100 including tip. The service was excellent. They were fast and nice and they actually gave us a lot of attention.

It's great to see a high quality hot pot and kbbq spot in the Arvada area. We had the AYCE hot pot + kbbq combo and it was $36 (per tax/tip) which is a great deal for what we got. Hot pot + sauces The hot pot broth options are all delicious. If you like szechuan spicy, the spicy broth is great - there's just a bit of a learning curve of how to eat around the dried peppers and szechuan peppercorns, but you'll get it. The menu of different meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and tofu is extensive and fresh. There's something for everyone: the meats and veggies you'll come across at an American market, as well as traditional Chinese meats and veggies that are oh so delicious in a hot pot. I'm always so happy when I see things like lotus root, tripe, and tong hua. They have a very extensive sauce section. Awesome to make your own sauces, but intimidating for people who are new. A possible suggestion to the restaurant would be putting up suggested sauce combinations. Korean BBQ The kbbq was fine, they put a paper down between the meat and the grill so you don't get that nice grill crust. I get that it makes cleanup easier, but took away from the flavor and overall experience. The meats and seafood were great quality, so it was unfortunate and we focused more on the hot pot because of this. Service There was always someone walking around who we could flag down to order more food and the food made it out to us quickly. We all easily got our fill and we had 4 ppl at our table. Space The restaurant is big. There are lots of tables for big parties and you don't feel crowded with the party next to you. I love supporting new asian restaurants especially as they expand around the Denver area and La hotpot and BBQ deserves it!

My son has been wanting us to try Hot Pot for a while now, so we got together for his birthday to celebrate at La Hotpot because of it's reviews, choices, and pricing. Pros We were able to get a reservation for our big group of 13 and the service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the option of having Korean BBQ add-on! Workers were nice enough to offer take photos of our large group. So-so It was the first time for ten of us and a bit more direction would have been helpful (although we know a group like ours can be a lot). Luckily my son was excited to teach us and fill in the gaps. When I checked our bill, I found we were charged for an extra meal. I'm sure and easy error to make, but glad I caught it as we didnt split the check and I was paying for all. Cons The pricing on the website DID NOT match what we were billed, although though the website had a note that it was updated as of 2025. Even though it was only a few dollars off, this is is such a pet peeve of mine.

I've been waiting for a good hot pot place to open nearby for YEARS now and was extremely excited to visit this place. I was not disappointed! I've been twice- once a few weeks after they opened and then about a month after that. I'm happy to say, they ironed out a lot of the service issues I encountered the first time. Food was brought promptly and service was great on my second visit! The selections of meats and veggies is great. I wish there were more seafood options and hope to see more added in the future. My only minor complaint is the menu- it's hard to mark your options and there's not obvious way to mark more than one serving of a specific item. If they, at a minimum, provided finer-tip pens or a chwckbox system, it would make the ordering process much easier.

I really wanted to love this place, but I really didn't. All the marinated meats except for the their Chicken Crispy Bones (which is basically just the joints/the bone ends of chicken bones) were very bland. It might just be a simple fix like marinating it a little longer but I am not sure. Hot pot broths are okay to start with but you definitely need a trip to the sauce bar to make it to your liking. Drinks were the best thing I had here, so big highlight there! Service can be forgivable as they have recently open but I do expect it to be better as time goes on. One of the biggest problems I had was that they didn't clear the table, not even once while we were there. There was no place to even put new orders as we keep stacking the plates. We barely did 3 rounds lol. Our 3rd round ended up being super small because of the lack of table space. It was clear that they are still training people and I am okay with that and very open to it but it felt that we were in a fishbowl with the comments that were being made "away" from our tables. (Not really away, we heard everything.) It is very clear to me that the staff needs more training and have better introduction to the process of things to customers. Price point -- great! 35 for both hotpott and bbq. Hoping I can come back and give them a better review.

This place is pricey af. I like that you can get both hotpot and bbq because I am not a hotpot fan. The service was good when they brought it out but terrible about collecting the dishes. The grill was also hard to navigate with more than 2 people using it. Some meat was marinated, some wasn't. I think I might come back if people wanted both.

Months ago they had good hot pot. I feel like owners changed or something. They have been closed for several months for a remodel. No taro or diacon, just kinda less quality of food product all around.

Very solid hot pot spot! The broth and sauce station were some of the best I've had/seen. I'm taking a star off because of the service, which has been mentioned in several other reviews. Things took a really long time to come out and when we ordered our second round of items, the waitress forgot to put it in. So we were there for 2 hours and only ordered off the menu twice. She was nice and apologized profusely but it does affect the experience!

Another hot pot & BBQ spot. La Hot Pot & BBQ is having its soft opening today. The selection is similar to other hot pot and BBQ restaurants in town. What worth mentioning is they have spicy broth and the super spicy butter broth as their soup bases. For seafood, besides crabs, clams, oysters, they also have shrimps with and without heads as well as the more convenient shell off shrimps. For BBQ, they have 8 types of marinated meat including short ribs, 4 types of seafood, including shrimps and satay marinated squid rings, baby octopus and baby cuttlefish and a variety of vegetables. $29.99 for hot pot only or $35.99 for hot pot and BBQ for dinner. $24.99 for hot pot only or $29.99 for hot pot and BBQ for lunch. They are offering $1 milk tea during their soft opening. They are at where Crab House used to be.

If you must dine here, get the chicken fish maw soup - it's REALLY GOOD. I don't usually leave 1 star reviews but this place has really disappointed me. The food in general was not great. The variety is more limited than other spots and some dinner specials were unavailable and our server did not even tell us. - I ordered the blue crab thrice and it never came so I asked her upon ordering it for the 4th time and that was when she decided to tell me it's out of stock - We ordered 2 "marinated satay squid rings" for BBQ and the first portion that came was unmarinated so we gave her the benefit of doubt and just reordered. But! The second time it came, it was the same squid rings with no marinate. So I clarified with her that we wanted the marinated one and that was when she told us "oh it's sold out so I gave you the plain ones" - shouldn't you tell us instead of giving us something we did not order? - As seen in the photo, there are two different types of pork belly, one for hot pot and one for BBQ - we ordered the BBQ pork belly and she gave us the hot pot pork belly. When we clarified, she claimed it's the same. But we knew for a fact it isn't the same because other tables had the right bbq pork belly, so we pointed that out to her and she said sorry she was confused. Overall, a super chaotic experience. Food came out so slowly our party of 5 ended up leaving feeling unsatisfied and still hungry - this has never happened at an AYCE for us. Advice for the restaurant: it will be a lot easier and more efficient if you provided an ordering iPad for each table. Otherwise, print papers for order instead of getting us to write with a marker on the menu - we ended up getting things we did not order because the menu wasn't cleaned properly. So much confusion between the waiter and us. And mind you, we were able to communicate perfectly with her in mandarin but everything ended up wrong as well. And always let your customers know if the items they ordered are out of stock instead of replacing it with something they didn't order, especially since you charge for food waste.

    Apolonia H.

I love this place. I never am disappointed and it's not weird being a table of one either. Unlike other AYCE places they don't forget about you. The l everyone is so attentive and kind.

Ask the Community - La Hotpot and BBQ

    Are there gluten free options?

Hot pot is basically boiling raw food inside a giant pot of broth then dipping it in sauce (or not, it's just like a preference thing). You basically get to like pick what you boil and most of the stuff you boil are meat and veggies, so the answer's…

Do they offer sesame sauce (like the ones for Chinese hotpot) and other dips? And if they do are they for free? And one last question, if they offer the sauces and dips, do we get to make them ourselves? Or are they premade and sold as a whole?

We are a Chinese Hotpot and Koprean BBQ (all you can eat) establishment. We do have sesame sauce at our sauce station. The sauce station is free for all to create your own mixture. We do not sell sauces to go.

We ordered the Not So Teeny Wahine platter to share and added an okra appetizer, and everything that hit the table was legit. The meats were exactly what you want from a good barbecue joint: smoky, tender, and packed with flavor without drowning in sauce. You could tell the pit did the talking. The okra was a great starter too, crispy without being greasy and a perfect way to kick things off. Sides can make or break a BBQ place and Smokin Dave's nailed them. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the mashed potatoes were comforting and buttery, the collard greens had that slow-cooked depth you hope for, and the red beans and rice brought a little Southern soul to the table. Overall, just a really solid barbecue experience. Great flavors, generous portions, and the kind of meal that makes you want to come back and try the rest of the menu.

I don't know if you can go wrong with how you order but my favorite is to get Dave's Smokin Platter which can come with one meat ($18), two meats ($22), or three meats ($26)! Any of these come with choice of two sides and cornbread. My go-to's are the brisket and pulled pork for the meats and fried okra, red beans and rice, or baked beans for the sides! If you are a first timer and want to try several meats- the Pitmaster sandwich ($16.25) is a great option as it comes with brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño cheddar sausage!

We were strongly motivated by a lunch date with our daughter and her husband, and apparently, the 'Seasoned Swine' experience starts with a mandatory pre-meal cardio session. If you aren't ready to hit the stairs, you aren't ready for the Swine. The Atmosphere (2 Stars): It's a bit like a sports bar that forgot to buy the TVs. Plenty of high-top tables to perched upon, and a bathroom door that refuses to close--perfect for those who enjoy a 'communal' dining experience in every sense of the word. The Service (3 Stars): Standard 'pay-to-play' setup. You order at the register, pay upfront, and hope for the best. Functional, but don't expect a candlelit serenade. The Food (5 Stars): This is where the magic happens. Three of us tackled the 'Swinoceros' plate--a meat-sweat-inducing mountain of the menu's highlights--while our fourth went for the pulled pork 'sammie.' The Candied Ribs: Out of this world. I'm pretty sure these are illegal in several states. Absolute perfection. The Burnt Ends: Moist, flavorful, and worth the drive alone. The Supporting Cast: The pulled pork, sliced turkey, brisket, and jalapeño cheddar sausage were all good. Even the sides--the OC Mac and Cheese and baked beans--were terrific. The Rolls: The three sweet rolls were... well, they were rolls. They were there. The Verdict: If you can survive the stairs, the awkward bathroom situation, and the DIY service, the food is a total knockout. I came for the family, but I'd stay for those candied ribs.

However, the candied pork belly was definitely an underdog. It was my favorite meat because it had that sweet and very rich barbecue flavor which made every bite so dreamy. For the sides, I didn't really find any over-the-top, but they were decent. Maybe the mac n cheese was a bit on the dry side, but still really good to pair with the barbecue.
