Husband ordered a milanesa, but "where's the beef"?? Crap.
Yadira V.

Very disappointed. The service was bad, the food sucked. Please do not order milanesa. Look at the pictures. The milanesa had NO MEAT and if it was there I didn't see it! Won't come back to that place. The waitresses were also very rude. We felt rushed. Even when the San Antonio Fiesta was and the place was barely occupied.

Huevos Rancheros con Tocino

First time for the two of us at La Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, was just what needed at that time, Satisfaction. How we ended up on Nogalitos at 9am on a Friday is not important, what matters is that it was COLD in Texas and we needed some food. We had finished a stupid meeting with the new HR person and showed I(eye)9 proof of citizenship so the new job is a done deal, now where do we eat? Being the Alpha Male in charge, I instinctively oriented our vehicle towards home, SE from here and said "let's just pop into the closest spot" and La Jalisco appeared. Within the moderately full parking lot we found a space next to the building, and once inside we sat ourselves away from the coldness of the front door. The menus appeared with the waitress and the pictures promised authentic Mexican Cuisine. Perfect for the season and seasoning, the Caldo de Res was just right in the mix of veggie to meat ratio, I removed the meat to provide better access to the tender vegetables and that soup. Just a slight shimmer of oil on the surface and a confetti like mixture of spices provided that warm and reassuring "chicken soup for the soul" feeling as it heals you from the inside out. Delicious. The Huevos Rancheros were classic and hearty, the eggs over medium and the potatoes appearing as if they had been individually sauteed to golden perfection, beans made with manteca provide that taste that you can't fake with anything else and a piece of bacon just thick enough t give you a challenge but crispy enough to call it thin sliced. It's good. The tortillas were think but lighter than expected, both the corn and flour. The salsa, had a bite but not a kick. I also had 2 tacos but since I ordered 3 I will review the tacos when I finish the last one, always leave your reader wanting more right?

Tortilla had grease( black spot) on it like it was full of meat then emptied and given to me to use on the side of my plate

Won't ever come back. The menudo had so much grease on top I had to spoon it out, my son's rice was so hard from them heating and reheating it too many times. The tortillas just weren't not edible

Just a small neighborhood Mexican place!

Small Mexican restaurant offering all the Tex Mex flavors. I had the Chilaquiles with refried beans, fried potatoes and two huge homemade corn tortillas. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The had the air on but it was warm and it was only ten in the morning. In San Antonio, it gets to 100 easy. They have a juke box and a TV. Most of the patrons were elderly and probably from the neighborhood. The Chilaquiles were okay, nothing spectacular. The refried beans were tasty. The potatoes kind of dry. Should have asked for ketchup. The tortillas now were amazing. I could only eat one but I brought the other one home.

Ham torta. Soooo delicious.

My family absolutely loved the food and the service was great. We were talking about how we wish we could have the food more often.

We ordered chips and salsa ($1.99) they came quickly. The salsa was tasty and not too spicy. I had Shrimp Nachos. There were plenty of them, lots of cheese and the guacamole was excellent, not a lot of stuff added to it. My husband had Carne Asada. It came with beans, tortillas and cheese enchilada. When he asked about barracho beans, Anthony brought them right away. The ice tea was strong and tasty and he kept our glasses filled. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The building is new. It's very open with high ceilings, lots of windows and cement floors. There was plenty of outdoor seating. There were only a few parking spaces by the entrance. There was free parking on nearby side streets or paid parking in lots behind the restaurant. We would definitely go back when in San Antonio again. The drink menu looked fun! And they have a rooftop bar.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
