Unfortunately the dessert turned out too sweet for us and we didn't end up finishing it. Perhaps without the milk it would've been tolerable. However we did order a banana pudding matcha too and it was so so good. The pudding had a nice creamy texture and the caramel bits at the bottom topped it off. I could have 2 by myself... also good to note that it had way too much ice in it but definitely perfection with its original sweetness level. Actually tastes so good. We got 25% sweet and it was perfect. I usually don't order matcha drinks, because it some places taste grassy. Not this place at all. The aesthetic inside is cozy to study and get work done, the coffee drink is strong and spot on, the desert is unique. The only down side is the parking, but that's how it is everywhere here. STRONGGG COFFEE!!! If you're looking for a drink that packs a punch, this is it! Visited on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait! Pretty spacious and clean cafe with lots of tables, saw a few people studying/doing work too. We tried their matcha einspanner and egg coffee. Egg coffee was great, 5/5! Super bold roast, with strong strong STRONG coffee flavor that held up well against the sweet n creamy egg foam. Matcha einspanner was 3.5/5. The matcha was fairly bold and the flavor came through, but was a bit powdery/grainy, and definitely on the sweeter side. The cream wasn't as rich as other matcha spots, but if you're in need of a quick fix, this einspanner will do the job. I definitely think the coffees are the winner here. Inside, they had a kiosk but we decided to order at the counter as we were not able to get the buy 1 get 1 deal on it. The there were only 2 people in front of us so the wait wasn't long. Came by after being tempted by so many of their matcha promos on Instagram. Happy to report that it's not just aesthetic, but the taste delivers. 5/5 stars given the diligent service and tasty drink, and don't have any justification for knocking off a whole star. They were pretty busy since it was a Saturday and they had a BOGO going on, but they were surprisingly able to keep up. Waited about 10 minutes but I think in that time they cracked out at least 12 drinks? Actually insane. I only saw three people working so definitely kudos to them. Female cashier was really friendly while multitasking drink making too. Atmosphere wise it's small but warm and cozy. Too loud to study on a Saturday but probably perfect on a weekday. Have a kiosk for you to order from for convenience. Parking was terrible but that's not their fault; there's just way too many businesses in that plaza. On a weekend be prepared to go round and round and be wary of bad drivers/maneuvering through the narrow areas. Got two matcha einspanners, with the price of one being $7.10. Price is on par with competitors these days. It was rich just from the matcha, but especially so once the whipped cream was fully incorporated. It was earthy, but not bitter nor grassy. I didn't make any adjustments because I saw how busy they were but you can absolutely modify the ice and sweetness level. At the normal sweetness it's definitely on the dessert side (too sweet if you dislike dessert). I quite liked it and have a sweet tooth, but in the future I'd probably reduce it by 25-50%, especially since the whipped cream is also sweetened. Worst service ever. Don't know if they're racist because I'm a different type of Asian but the cashier with glasses was so rude to me and my sister when asking questions about the drinks. Strawberry Mochi Latte- this was so good! The strawberry flavor was sweet and refreshing, and I loved the chewy mochi pieces throughout. Such a unique and delicious twist on a regular latte. My first review of 2025...! I checked this spot out after a colleague mentioned it to me a few weeks ago. I remember visualizing the plaza at the time, and exclaimed that "that's the plaza with the super tight parking/tiny spaces!". Luckily, my first time here, I opted to check it out the morning of New Years Eve. The plaza was relatively empty when I stopped by (somewhere between 8am and 9am). I was instantly greeted by a friendly guy that provided some suggestions after I asked what his most popular drinks were. They have a decent breakfast menu - but I was coming back from a rather heavy meal - so just settled for a drink instead. I opted for the Matcha Einspanner. The wait wasn't bad at all - while I was waiting, I noted their spacious interior. There's lots of seating/tables, and outlets. In a time where many cafes are removing/blocking outlets to discourage people from working in them - it's refreshing to see that La Ka Viet has outlets in abundance. All seats have a nice view of the shopping plaza if you like to people watch. The current decor of Christmas was peaceful - they have a nice tree upfront too. Clean bathroom - although the lock is a bit flimsy. The Matcha Einspanner ($6.50) had a rich matcha taste to it - probably among the better matcha drinks I've had in recent time. It didn't have any gritty or grainyness that other reviews were complaining about. The thick layer of cream at the top added a nice balance to the matcha taste. Definitely on my top 5 list of matcha drinks. I wanted to try out their coffee jelly, but they were out today. They also have avocado pudding too - and if I wasn't so full from breakfast, I would've picked one up. Wifi is strong and fast - I did a speedtest and it was measuring at 100+ MBPS. The only downside I can see is the parking situation. Not only is this one of the busier shopping plazas in Little Saigon, but add to that the tight roadways in the lot. The parking spaces are small - and while my little VW has no issue fitting perfectly in a spot - I get a bit apprehensive driving through this lot with other drivers who seem to have issues navigating safely. The majority of the spots in this plaza are timed for One-hour. So it's not really the most conducive for studying or working. The cafe guy did tell me that parking gets better in the evening - only worsens during the day. While I don't want to fault them for the parking situation - parking is really a big factor you have to consider when you're checking places out around here - especially if you plan to stay longer than the provided timeframe. read more

Already the parking in the plaza was, then when you walk in there's a restaurant? directly to the right, people standing to the right also waiting for drinks only, and then a line to order. Came here today as my daughter and I enjoy trying out different coffee places. It's located in a pretty busy and big shopping strip. It's a nice coffee shop they offer a variety of drinks and they also serve food. I went ahead and ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee and my daughter ordered an iced matcha latte. Next time I will order different coffee just to try it out. My Vietnamese coffee was very good and my daughter also enjoyed her matcha. The place is nice and clean with lots of seating area. This place offers a wide amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The parking can get a little busy during the day and weekends. I ordered the Avocado Coconut Milk and it tasted good, but I didn't realize it was actually iced coconut milk with an avocado foam/smoothie. Saw this new place on a TikTok that said it was a good place to get work done, and decided to visit while it was still in soft opening! PARKING: Shared lot with lots of parking, at least on a weekday evening before grand opening WHAT I ORDERED: * Egg coffee * Coffee with truffle cheese foam THE DRINKS: The egg coffee was pretty good, with the perfect level of sweetness and great texture, but the egg flavor was a bit strong compared to places like Da Vien. The truffle cheese foam was DELICIOUS - something about the texture was super unique, almost like marshmallow fluff? I don't think the cheese flavor was particularly strong though, and not sure what they meant by truffle. The coffee for both drinks was nice and strong and perfectly sweetened. MY 1ST REVIEW OF 2025! LETS GO!! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this café. From the minimal design to the well crafted menu and the incredible service. We were greeted when we came in and greeted when we left. I'm so glad we decided to dine in and enjoy ourselves (even tho it was a short visit). I was blown away when I found out they actually had a food menu. To my surprise, it was everything they needed to make this café complete. We ordered the Xiu Man, the Viet ice coffee, and the che Thai with avocado. I highly recommend getting two pieces of banh mi per dish. After receiving my drink, the girl I asked assistance seems a bit clueless...
