Per usual, I was looking for a solid work space, and found that this place just recently opened. We pulled up into the plaza and had a difficult time finding parking, which is extremely normal for this plaza. Here is what we ordered: Matcha Einspanner: This was very matcha forward. It was a good balance of matcha and cream, which I enjoyed. Majority of the einspanners I have tried have not had a strong matcha flavor, but this one does. House Special Coffee: This was definitely strong! It had a good balance of flavor, but I usually go for the sweeter coffees. Maybe the Latte Vietnamese would have been lighter than this! Overall, this place is nicely decorated and had a ton of plug in spots. The seats and tables are very comfortable and can for sure support a good long study/work session. It's like really? You're gonna argue with me as the customer when we're trying to find the right ratio for ourselves since we haven't perfected our perfect order yet? It should be a standard procedure to adjust the drink to our liking. After she finally decided to take our drinks to add the oat milk, I swear she put a splash to my bf's drink & barely added that much to mine. It was truly the attitude and service that left us shocked at having to ask harder for our drinks to be to our liking. I usually like to wait a few months to try a business out and I probably should have done that for this establishment but I wanted to try something new today and their menu looked great at first glance. Here's what I ordered: **Matcha Foam Coffee: The Vietnamese coffee itself was very strong and bitter, which was great. However, the matcha foam was a bit confusing. The foam was on the sweeter side and had an artificial matcha flavor. The foam was very thick and had the consistency of cake frosting that had been in the refrigerator for too long. With that being said, you can't initially mix it up with the coffee because of the consistency (stated before) until you're about halfway done with the drink. You can barely taste the bitterness of the matcha because it was insanely sweet. (2/5) **Hibiscus Oolong Tea: The oolong tea overpowered the hibiscus flavor, which was very disappointing because I love hibiscus. The hibiscus portion neither sweet nor was it tart. The worst part was that the tea flavor was very weak as well. There was no option to adjust the sweetness level on the kiosk and I'm really glad there wasn't because both flavors were very weak. (0/5) Very poor cup design for the coffee. The sippy cup flap was very unstable. I had to take off the lid and bend the flap all the way down or else you would have to deal with your straw being bent due to the cup being sealed. Another con was the kiosk machine. The touch pad for the kiosk machine was very unresponsive. I had to click each button 3 to 4 times for it to register, which was extremely frustrating during the final step where you had to type out your name and phone number. They seem to have picked out the cheapest kiosk machine available so I hope they look into that. The outside signage is also very poor. The old business, Hui Lau Shan's outer sign is still up with a temporary banner for La Ka Viet on top of it. The banner is not very stable and it's very easy to miss the shop while driving unless you know the exact unit it's located in. Service was okay, nothing special since the majority of my interactions were with the kiosk machine. I was greeted when I arrived and my drinks came out in a timely manner even though they had a few pending orders. There's definitely potential here but they're still in their soft opening phase so I hope they improve. The Vietnamese coffee scene is so competitive in the Westminster/Fountain Valley/Garden Grove area so I was expecting high standards. Don't get me wrong, I think their Vietnamese coffee in general has great potential but everything else has plenty of room to improve especially their kiosk machine, signage, and the overall quality of their other products. This place is a little hard to find. They don't have their signage yet and the banner that they do have is sometimes flipped over due to the wind. I saw this place on tiktok/IG and waited a bit to try it out since I didn't want to go when it was super crowded. We went on a Saturday around 2pm. I got the egg coffee (5/10), the blended matcha (8/10) and originally we got the buttered croisstant but then they called us up and told it they didn't have anymore so they offered 2 pandan jellys to us (8/10) Service was okay, there wasn't much interaction since we ordered on the kiosk and the only time we spoke to someone was when they told us they didn't have any more croissants.
