La Loba presents itself as a Barcelona inspired restaurant in Seattle, but beyond a few promising moments, the experience never captures the soul, generosity, or precision one expects from that inspiration. The dining room is attractive, with a clean Scandinavian aesthetic that feels modern without being cold. The lively soundtrack suits the concept, but the volume is so excessive that holding a conversation becomes an effort rather than a pleasure. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings and sampled one of the signature gin and tonics from the cocktail cart. The cart itself is theatrical and genuinely fun. Unfortunately, my gin and tonic was overwhelmed by an excessive amount of sage, leaving it intensely herbaceous and masking any balance the drink may have had. The paired white wine was even more puzzling: unusual to the point of being barely drinkable. The meal began on a high note. The tapas were thoughtfully executed, particularly the caviar egg, which was elegant, balanced, and memorable. Service, however, quickly became the weakest element of the evening. Each dish was introduced in a hurried mumble, with little effort made to ensure guests could actually understand what was being served. Good service should enhance the experience, not force diners to guess. The main course, a branzino, was the evening's greatest disappointment. The fish arrived submerged in what tasted like an overwhelming pool of soy sauce, with noticeable scales and bones left intact. When I politely mentioned that the dish was not enjoyable, the response from the server was simply that it would taste better with another glass of wine. It was a dismissive answer that conveyed indifference rather than hospitality. Dessert failed to redeem the meal. A peach shaved ice lacked flavor entirely, while the so called caramel mousse resembled little more than lightly flavored whipped cream, with neither the richness nor depth one expects to finish a tasting menu. La Loba offers an appealing setting and flashes of culinary talent, but they are overshadowed by inconsistent execution and an unprofessional front of house. For a restaurant aspiring to this level, attentive service, thoughtful wine selections, and technically sound cooking are not optional. They are the foundation. Sadly, this visit fell well short of those expectations, and I have no desire to return. read more

This was my favorite - light and airy, not sure how they made this but so delicious and delicate with each bite. I've never had anything like it, but so much yumminess in one bite. Scallop crudo- love the Thai fusion with coconut tom kha Patatas bravas- staple and fun to share (I did not try the oysters but my friends loved them) We did an assortment of pastas and proteins as well, loved the beef cheeks and cod. And you can't go wrong with pastas - all of them were so flavorful and beautiful presentation. Same with dessert - refreshing and I think the seasonal menu changes, so ask your server. This was my first time visiting La Loba. I had a reservation for 9:15 PM and arrived 20 minutes early, which was fine since I was happy to wait at the bar. However, I ended up waiting well past my reservation time. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I asked why my table wasn't ready and was told that some groups were staying longer than expected. I mentioned that the whole point of a reservation is to be seated on time -- other restaurants seem to manage this much better. The host then told me they were cleaning a table and it would be ready in two minutes, but during that time, I noticed at least three other parties being seated before us. When I asked about it, the host said someone had broken a glass at our table and that they wanted to give us a "better seat," which was confusing because I never requested any special seating. It was my friend's birthday, and we just wanted a nice dinner. When we were finally seated, everyone's food came out except for the birthday girl's -- they completely forgot her meal. The experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a special occasion. The server was very kind and did their best, but the host's attitude and the overall organization were terrible. Went to La Loba for dinner on New Year's Eve, and honestly--it was really good. I ordered their set vegan menu, and everything was well thought out, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food. The service was amazing, attentive, warm, and made the whole experience feel special, especially for NYE. That said, it is expensive, so this is definitely a place to go when you're in the mood to treat yourself or celebrate something. We finally made our way over to La Loba! We wanted to go here in May when they first opened and on my birthday weekend, but they were booked up! Highly recommend making reservations ahead. But let me start with having 10/10 amazing experience!! We're huge on getting good customer service, and this one really impressed us! Our server and everyone else that brought out our dishes were all very attentive and knowledgeable about every single dish. I also can't get over how beautiful the interior is and the ambiance... The food was all incredibly good! Each dish was "ooooh omg!" I almost wanted to do the tasting pre-fixed menu, but there were other dishes included that I wasn't interested in and the tapas only came 2 of each. The regular menu was definitely the way to go! After dinner we also went next door to Drift lounge and hung out at their lobby for some drinks. The interior and decor there was also super cute! They also had a live dj playing good songs. We will definitely be back Monkey Business (N/A G&T) Lyre's Zero Proof Gin, Juniper, Sage, Rosemary, Lemon Peel, Fever Tree Premium Tonic-- yes it's made tableside and we thought it was super cool. Mine was N\A but you can definitely ask one with alcohol. Scallop Crudo: This was my absolute favorite from their cold tapas. You cannot go here and not get this! The tom kha sauce and the rest of the toppings were so delicious! Smoked Candy Salmon Montadito: This was my second favorite. Another standout for me... one of the best creamy, honey (not so smoky) salmon on a tostini I've had. 30-Day Dry-Aged Striploin Carpaccio: This was my third favorite. The puffed bread and carpaccio were yummy! However, the black truffle and goat cheese made just a tad bit salty. Patatas Bravas: The only thing we got from their hot tapas. These crispy layered potato sticks with a spicy aioli sauce were so good!! Pan-Roasted Black Cod: The cod was seared nicely, so tender, and the skin was crispy! Oh! and the Gazpachuelo sauce mixed in with kimchee was so unique. I loved it! Hanger Steak: The steak was very tender and well-marinated. On a bed of their signature steak sauce was flavorful! I thought I was done, but I wanted more scallop crudo! I couldn't get over how good they were, so I had to order another one. It was that good!! Pistachio Tiramisu: I love tiramisu!! To be clear I had to download the yelp app just to write this review (my first ever) because I can't imagine someone spending their hard (or easily) earned money at this establishment... I have to say, my experience at La Loba in Seattle was one of utter disappointment. To be clear, the servers were kind, and the service was genuinely warm. The ambiance was lovely, stylish, well-lit, and inviting. But when it came to the food, it was a complete flop. I would honestly rather eat anywhere else. Take their "bikini platter," for example, $19 for a tiny plate of what tasted like toasted wonder bread, KRAFT American cheese, and cheap honey probably from Dave's Hot Chicken packets. I mean, it weighed about one ounce. Then there's the octopus dish, just one lonely leg, completely flavorless, with a sour/rancid tasting sauce. It was inedible. And the hanger steak, cooked well, sure, but the meat was bland. The sauce was just mashed green tomatillos with salt and potentially some sort of pepper. For $55, I'd rather go to Outback. Even the onion rings. I'd get better ones at Applebee's. In short, whoever crafted this menu needs a total redo. It's such a letdown. read more

truly a disappointing meal, dined here for valentines day and everything about this experience just missed the mark. tasting menu was priced at $105 per person, we had read another recent review that the portion size was not worth the price, but decided to try it out anyways since we could always return another time to try things à la carte-- wish we would have taken their advice. i want to start by saying that i never leave reviews, but it feels like a disservice if I didn't post to share our experience to warn others. first tapas to come out was the kimchi oyster, both oysters had shell fragments in it and the taste of the oyster itself was off-putting & did not pair well with the kimchi flavor. the iberico jamon salad situation was simply a bowl of undressed arugula leaves topped with a few shavings of ham and 4 pieces of melon. we kept mixing expecting some dressing on the bottom, or at the very least some olive oil or salt, but it was laughable how low effort of a dish this was for a tasting menu of this price. the patatas + wagyu tasted fine, but the paper thin slice of wagyu did nothing to add to the experience. claimed to have horseradish crème fraise but honestly, the whole thing just tasted like chunk of a fried potato. the last 3 tapas took 30 more minutes each to arrive, and the couples seated to the left and right of us were also left waiting. because we were so dissatisfied, we spent most of our night discussing where we should eat once we were done with this experience. our waiter did apologize for the long wait & that the kitchen was slow, and my partner and I totally understand that dining on a holiday may come with some wait times. now reading other reviews, it's clear that this is just an issue that this restaurant refuses to improve on. another thing-- the diners next to us were seated and started dining at least half an hour after us, yet they were constantly being served before us, to the point where they paid their bills before we even received our dessert... and even then, they were complaining as well! photographers were floating around the restaurants to capture the special night, but im not sure how they'll make this experience look good when majority of guests were sitting & waiting disappointed. our total for two tasting menus and one cocktail came out to a whopping $290. save your time and money, you're better off picking up some food at whole foods downstairs, at the very least you won't leave feeling extremely dissatisfied. for the most part, staff were attentive and kind. live music & overall ambiance was nice. but none of this makes up for how lackluster the tasting menu was read more

The food was great and portion sizes were the right amount. The Granola Salad was a stand out, with perfect acidity from the anchovy chardonnay vinaigrette, that paired perfect with the crunch of the walnuts and white chocolate crumble. The Steak Frites entree was cooked spot on to a medium rare temp, and their La Loba Steak Sauce ties that whole dish together. Finishing off a complete dining experience was their Pistachio Tiramisu that was flavorsome with that scoop of espresso ice cream on top. You will not be disappointed by any of the other dishes on their menu as everything else we ate were also delicious, and all the smells and sights of meals going to the other diners were delightful and impressive. Their cocktails were complex yet welcoming. As a person who enjoys a good martini, I've become a huge fan of their Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. The blue cheese fat washed Belvedere presented a pleasant mouthfeel to the cocktail that is a refreshing complement to the Kaffir lime leaf and citrus notes you get from the pairing with Silent Pool gin. I will definitely be back for more those! But the most impressive part of my experience was the staff. From the moment my friend and I arrived, we were greeted with warm and welcoming reception and they quickly got us a cozy space in their lounge to enjoy a cocktail and appetizer while waiting for our reservation. And once our table was ready, we were never rushed and they were patient with us finishing up in the lounge. Our server Clarissa was beyond exceptional in guiding us through their menu and explaining their concept to us. She and the rest of the staff all seemed enthusiastic to be there, they were all fairly knowledgeable about their offerings, and everyone was extremely attentive. Their management team was also very friendly and present, as Joe, John, and Max all made efforts to stop by and ensure we had everything we needed and check in. Me and my Girlfriend went to La Loba for a few Tapas and some dessert and left fat and happy. Not only were the Tapas delicious, but the beef tartare came with a beautiful table side preparation. As for the Patatas Bravas I will simply never be able to look at any other fried potato dish the same way. We also got the Bucatini Ragú which was excellent. However the main reason I'm writing this review is because the amazing experience and service we got from our server Daryian. He was so kind and made the whole dinner engaging and informative. He came back to check on us Throughout the whole night shook are hands and took the time to remember our names and our preferences. Overall Amazing Service and Food.
