Located at the Luquillo Kiosks. This was one of the nicer restaurants with ocean views. They do not take reservations, but we didn't have a wait on a Friday evening. We started off with cocktails - Mai tais and beers. For dinner, I got a beef empanada, rice beans, and the sweet plantains. It was a full meal! My husband got the fresh mahi mahi which came with salad, rice, and beans. The portions are pretty big! Our friends got the chicken stuffed with sweet plantains and the grouper. All good choices. Very chill vibe. Loved the ocean vibes.
Today was a special day at La Parrilla in La Isla Del Encanto. From the very beginning we were welcomed with with a smile and a sense of happiness. This place was right by the water where you can hear the waves crashing and the food smelling absolutely amazing. The menu was big and our server was super welcoming and helpful. I loved the seating area and how open this establishment was. It felt perfect with the weather and the sounds all around. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the staff who made this night unforgettable and one I will always cherish for the rest of my life. They helped me coordinate my proposal to my better half with smiles and excitement. They made our night special. I will forever be grateful to them and this wonderful place. Now let's get to the food. OMG! ... Our dishes were nothing short of perfectly delicious. I have not had steak in a long time and this was a reminder of how good steak is when is cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you're in Luquillo, you must give this place a try. I will certainly be back here when we make our trip back to Puerto Rico and you should too!
This Area where the restaurant is super cool with a bunch of kiosks to eat at and right off the beach so it has a great view. it's a really popular restaurant so there was a wait time my fried snapper was really tasty but the other fried things we got weren't my favorites. the service was decent but took a while to get our food. the ambience is cool but i wouldn't say this was the best of the best like i was informed
Listen.. this was the longest wait of my life when it comes to a restaurant. I'm talking "questioning my life choices" long. We ended up getting our food to go because we genuinely didn't know if a server would ever appear. Needless to say, service was rough.. long wait to even order drinks, even longer to get them, and everything felt oddly spaced out. The appetizer platter was actually delicious, but by the time it arrived we were practically in a new fiscal year. Maybe sitting inside puts you on the Island Time+ plan? You'd think they'd want to upsell alcoholic drinks, but I guess not. The food I tried later was... fine. Not bad. I asked for rice and beans - got white rice with a cold bean salad situation. Not what I expected. A little pricey, but it is in a very touristy area, so that part tracks. Overall? Too much waiting, not enough wow.
We had an unforgettable night at La Parrilla! The service was amazing! Located at the end of the Luquillo Kiosk strip, La Parrilla is serving up some delicious fresh food. The fried cheese was paired with a sweet jam giving a nice balance. The fried snapper was cooked perfectly making it very easy to separate the bones. Super chill vibes right off the beach make this an easy choice for dinner.
This restaurant is awesome. We were visiting from NY staying at El Conquistador with our two kids and this was classic puerto rican food executed VERY well. They don't take reservations and the line to sit seems intimidating but it moves fast (the restaurant is deceivingly big). We ordered alcapurrias, empanadillas (beef & lobster), fried pork, fried snapper and alfredo pasta for the kid. Service is supper efficient but warm - we will 100% be back
Warning: La Parrilla will ruin other restaurants for you. The terrace view is unfair. The Boricua Sampler is a love letter to Puerto Rican flavors. My wife's lobster made her forget I existed. The grouper made me forget everything else. And the service? Flawless -- like they actually enjoy taking care of you. Come hungry. Leave happy. Come back soon. That's the La Parrilla formula.
This spot stood out along the lively strip of waterfront restaurants in Luquillo, Puerto Rico- perfect for grabbing some bites before heading back to our room. Picture a dirt parking lot just off the highway, leading into a big restaurant with a tin roof and loud, carefree energy. The vibe here is alive. Salsa pumps through the speakers and even without a dance floor, you'll find people making their own space to show off their Salsa moves. It's that kind of place that has no frills, just fun. [Let's talk piña coladas. I've had a string of them across the island, all ordered with alcohol... yet every single one tastes like a virgin. I've given up. Give me natural, tropical juice or water- or a glass of wine when the mood strikes. Puerto Rico might be the birthplace of the piña colada, but these folks LACK in the alcohol part big time]. Food wise, my husband was in heaven with his meat alcapurrias. I went for the Caribbean fried cheese and a fish empanada. While the empanada shell was crispy and fresh, the filling was almost nonexistent, which was a letdown considering the size of the shell. Still, between the upbeat servers, no-reservations-needed vibe and easygoing energy, this place offers a fun, come-as-you-are experience. It's not gourmet, but it's got a bit of heart.
Beautiful setting! Super great ambiance! Servers are amazingly sweet. We had really wonderful lobster. The only downside was their "melted butter" wasn't butter as we 8 are familiar with. Maybe it was ghee? Whatever it is/was it was unsalted. With all that said, we all wished we had melted salted real butter for our delicious lobsters.

Good service, pleasant staff busy restaurant waited 1+ hours for a table. Food experience: For a restaurant that boasts Lobsters, my Lobster experience was less than memorable. our table ordered( 2): Lobster Stuffed with Seafood Platter, sadly both meals had lobsters that were overcooked, which caused the lobster meat to tough and chewy. and ruined the overall dish. the grouper pieces were probably the only edible part of the whole dish. our table also ordered : Stuffed snapper: good Monfongos ( shrimp): good variety of empanadas : good cheese platter : ok overall experience ok read more
Stuffed lobster here looks yummy. It's one of the few places opened for lunch at the luquillo kiosks. It's at the end of the kiosks here in Luquillo. Mostly outside seating. Before the patio are tables, but it's for waiting only. If they served these tables they could get more folks through. They have a few tables inside as well. Tanks full of lobster. It was a 2 hour wait or so tonight. One hour for a table and one hour for the food to come out. Better to come during lunch. Will try for another time then... read more

Great restaurant on Loquilla Beach. Dine inside or outside under a covered area overlooking the ocean.we stopped in for lunch. The menu has a variety of offerings including authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. We had a variety of seafood entrees from grouper, fried and stuffed red snapper. The food was excellent. The seafood Alcapurria was delicious. They served with their special Homemade hot sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was great. The waiter assisted us with making our lunch choices. The portions are pretty big and it's moderately priced. We dined inside near the air conditioning with a window views of the beach. It's a great place for group dining. One important note as they will only split the check two ways for large parties. Overall, I definitely recommend. read more

The best Puerto Rican restaurant in Luquillo. This is our stop on the tour and glad we picked this restaurant! Everything is good and delicious. Location: It is located on Luquillo, PR. The location is just right at the beach. There is a waiting list to get inside the restaurant, you have to time yourself cause you might run out of time if you are on a tour. Service: The servers are nice, they gave you good recommendations. The problem is it takes a while to get our food. We waited for an hour to get our food, maybe it is too busy. But we ended up taking out our food rather than dining in cause we have our tour that is ahead of us and we can't stay longer. Other than that the servers were nice. Food: All that we ordered was good, too bad that we couldn't dine in and we ate it at home. SAMPLE BORICUA: all the appetizers are here so get this! It has fried yuca, fried cheese and many more. MOFONGO with SEAFOOD: omg it was so delicious! The mofongo is well seasoned and it has a lot of seafood on it! The sauce is delish as well. PAELLA: omg another favorite, the rice is well cooked and again a lot of seafood on it. FILETE DE MERO: the grouper fish is soft and the sauce is so buttery, very tasty! PINA COLADA: had better pina colada than this, but it was okay at that time. Price rating: 7/10, it was not that bad for the price. Everything was good! Will definitely come back here if I am in Luquillo. Be prepared to wait long and watch your time if you are on a tour. Otherwise everything was delicious. read more

The menu is big and has so many delicious options. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Got sat right away. View is nice and servers were friendly. We had the fish bites and sample boricua. Get don't take reservations, but we will be back for dinner. read more

Tonight was my first night dining out in Puerto Rico after being away for MANY years and the first thing I wanted to have is my all time favorite dish...MOFONGO. A gentleman recommended this place so I had to check it out. For my drink, I had the mango frozen drink (virgin) which was very tasty. As an appetizer, we got the sampler to share that a number of classic fried goodies that Puerto Rico is big on. Now, the main attraction...I got the Mofongo with sweet plantain, jumbo shrimp and covered in holland cheese fondue. I haven't had that combination before so I was intrigued. Man, it was everything I'd hoped it would be!! So delicious! For dessert, I had the 4 leches cake. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had but it pretty up there. Sure, the food was on the expensive side but worth it, I think. The service was decent. Our waiter was pleasant and took care of us. The food took alittle while (not too bad) but it was busy and I was in good company so I didn't mind. It's in a pretty good location. It's right by the ocean so while we were enjoying our meal, we got to listen to the crashing of the waves which was soothing as always. read more

For appetizers we had the Alcapurria de Carne, and fish nuggets My husband had the lobster ( he picked fresh) and I had the Shrimps on Creole sauce that was amazing. Portion are a got sizes and for dessert the 4 tres leches. We highly recommend. read more

first of all the ambiance was not great inside .. metal tables with holes adorned the interior, and it could have looked better. but the food was amazingly delicious. we did have an issue with our server not telling us that the lobster prices on the menu were based on one pound lobsters and that they did not have any one pound lobster left and charged us for 1.5 lb lobsters instead and we did not find that other until we got the check. as you can imagine we were furious especially since we were unable to locate our server to bring it to his attention. My daughter walked to the kitchen and asked or the manager who then came and explained the weight difference. we told him the server never told us that the lobsters were a pound and a half had we known we would have chosen another dish. About 30 minutes later my daughter went back to the kitchen to see what the holdup was and finally she was able to get the price of each lobster adjusted to 1 pound other than this miscommunication, which I think is very important for customers we enjoyed our meal very much. If we are ever in the area again, this experience will not hinder me from trying them again because it was that delicious. read more

Perhaps we caught it on a bad Sunday eve, but the hostess was not having it. We waited for over 30min, and another 10min because we wanted to sit more (inside; closer to the kitchen and lobster tanks). We were finally seated and ordered drinks and an app (which came out relatively quickly). We went to pick our lobsters from the tanks, and NO LIE, they were not served until 1hr later! Although the waiter was MUCH better service oriented than that poor hostess, but it really shouldn't take an entire hour to serve our main dishes. Oh, and if you order the lobster (plain/dressed), make sure you ask for clarified butter (although it claims to come with it). My 'top shelf' margarita was pretty [weak], so I switched to wine. The pricing was great - as the lobsters were fresh. As for ambiance - the place has quite the footprint and can handle a lot of guests - but in this post pandemic world, staffing is clearly an issue everywhere. Have patience friends, the food is worth it. read more

La Parrilla is at the end of the Luquillo kiosks and the restaurant sits right on the beach. The service was quick, but they were doing repairs on the building when we were eating, which ruined the ambiance and we couldn't hear the ocean. Food wise, everything was delicious! We started with the appetizer platter to have a sample of their starters. I had the steak and mushroom mufungo, which I loved. Two other people at my table also got the mufungo, one got seafood and the other shrimp. The sauces on all 3 mufungos were different. While I liked mine, the rest of my table did not like the sauce that came with their dishes (one was a Cajun sauce and the other a white caper sauce). read more

Came here for early dinner around 4 pm cuz where we were going it was close. We saw they have lots of seafood. This place was somewhat busy there were dancing and music at the beach you can watch. I been having good pina colada at the last place so I order it here. It wasn't as great I barely taste the rum like it had no alcohol. So I was disappointed but also my husband Jack and coke was not strong. So we were hopping the food would be better. Our server male was so nice he did a good job besides forgetting our water but I reminded him so he brought it. The lobster in a plantain bowl was a ok. The red snapper is really good. I had the huge fried shrimp plate and that was really good and it wasn't small shrimp it was humongous I had to take the rest home Prov eat 3 pc. read more
The service was great, we were celebrating my mom birthday and she wanted lobster on top of that the weather was not that great, we had rain so we came here because the place we were staying was close to here. My boys got sick from the Alfredo pasta. I ordered the chicken mofongo and I got sick. Lobster was great here overall everything was great until the boys got food poisoning. The place is not fancy looking it's an open space view of the sea. read more

This restaurant is located along side the beach. I recommend sitting outdoors for a great view. Our waiter was friendly and attentive to our needs. Our table ordered the Sample Boricua as an appetizer, it included a mixture of their appetizers. Other dishes ordered were Camarones (shrimps in butter & heavy cream). Lobster tail with steak and a side of rice. We also tried the piña colada and mojito. If you stop by this restaurant I also suggest checking the kiosks for great souvenirs! read more

This place looked great from the roadside. And the reviews were strong. But looks can be deceiving. There wait was 45 min for a 2-seat table - which on a holiday is excusable... but the food we got was cold, over cooked and difficult to eat. And it took another 45 min to arrive. Not the best experience to say the least. It was promising... it just didn't live up to reviews nor expectations. And the last kick in the behind: they don't take Amex! Avoid... we could have gone to Wendy's down the street and been better fed with much less aggravation. read more
Food was superb! Had the beef empanadas. You could tell they were made fresh from hand rolled dough. The crust had fork pressed edges like I made them myself. The fried queso gets better with every bite. The MOFONGO!!! No words. I wish I were still there. So savory so tasty. Loved every bite. Loved the breeze while sitting oceanside for evening meal. read more

Open air dinning right on the shoreline, only 50 feet away from the beach. We splurged for anniversary dinner, ordered the rabo de langosta (lobster) and filete de mero (grouper) plates, with a parcha mojito and margarita. Plentiful tasty portions, two days of food for two people. Staff was excellent. Quick service and waiters kept everything flowing. Visit Tip: extra parking available at the end of the strip, don't panic . A must dinning and/or drinking visit after a day on the beautiful beaches . read more

I eat a plant based life so it's tough sometimes to follow the crowd. They all consumed lobsters "at a great price" they said. Atmosphere was fun as it's right on the beach and it was a gorgeous night. My rice and veggie dish was great. Wine was awesome. ( A lot of fried stuff there) read more

We came to this restaurant after coming from the rainforest. We were seated quickly. The waiters were friendly. There were a bit busy so some of our second drinks did not occur, but we were not charged for them. It is a nice outdoor area under a tent. However, lots of flies come by when the food is ready. The bathroom was fine. The food was pretty tasty. I loved my lobster empanada. The ribs were huge. My friends were quite pleased even though it was a bit pricey. The mofongo is decent too. Drinks are reasonably priced. The pasta dish as a side was actually really good. You can't go wrong just ordering the pasta by itself. It is definitely a touristy place/menu but it has decent service and food. read more

This was the best restaurant without question during our short long weekend trip to PR (see profile for other places visited). Prices were reasonable, view was incredible by the water, and all the seafood was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cookedz Mero pasa (5/5) - THE BEST grouper I've ever had. Fish was perfectly cooked, soft and not dry. Sauce was slightly creamy and garlicky but not overpowering, generous w/ onions. Ceviche (5/5) - Fresh, zesty Octopus salad (3/5) - Probably the more forgettable of the three dishes, nothing bad but nothing special. read more

I do recommend this place for people who are looking for a spot outside of city limits. The food is very tasty, and I loved the ambiance. Our servers were courteous but not as attentive as I am used to. Even though our food was good, it took a while to come to us, and so did our cocktails. Be warned! It is right on the beach, so there is a chance a bird or something could make its way to you. read more

The food was outrageously expensive for the quality. It's definitely a tourist trap. We went for the good reviews, but were very disappointed. We were seated after 15 min despite there being almost empty restaurant and the waiters were hanging around. They were nice people, but honestly super sloooow service. We came around 8pm and left around 10pm because of how slow the service was. We probably scarfed down the food in 15 min. The drinks were cheap but super sweet. Would definitely not recommend. read more
A one-word summary of La Parilla: Fresco. We enjoyed dining on the patio with views of the ocean and fresh air while eating food that was equally fresh and tasty. Our party tried two types of mofongo, filete de mero (grouper in a cream sauce), and pechuga which was devoured quickly. Be prepared for a wait and a hefty bill, but good things come to those who wait! read more
