Located at the Luquillo Kiosks. This was one of the nicer restaurants with ocean views. They do not take reservations, but we didn't have a wait on a Friday evening. We started off with cocktails - Mai tais and beers. For dinner, I got a beef empanada, rice beans, and the sweet plantains. It was a full meal! My husband got the fresh mahi mahi which came with salad, rice, and beans. The portions are pretty big! Our friends got the chicken stuffed with sweet plantains and the grouper. All good choices. Very chill vibe. Loved the ocean vibes.
Today was a special day at La Parrilla in La Isla Del Encanto. From the very beginning we were welcomed with with a smile and a sense of happiness. This place was right by the water where you can hear the waves crashing and the food smelling absolutely amazing. The menu was big and our server was super welcoming and helpful. I loved the seating area and how open this establishment was. It felt perfect with the weather and the sounds all around. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the staff who made this night unforgettable and one I will always cherish for the rest of my life. They helped me coordinate my proposal to my better half with smiles and excitement. They made our night special. I will forever be grateful to them and this wonderful place. Now let's get to the food. OMG! ... Our dishes were nothing short of perfectly delicious. I have not had steak in a long time and this was a reminder of how good steak is when is cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you're in Luquillo, you must give this place a try. I will certainly be back here when we make our trip back to Puerto Rico and you should too!
This Area where the restaurant is super cool with a bunch of kiosks to eat at and right off the beach so it has a great view. it's a really popular restaurant so there was a wait time my fried snapper was really tasty but the other fried things we got weren't my favorites. the service was decent but took a while to get our food. the ambience is cool but i wouldn't say this was the best of the best like i was informed
Listen.. this was the longest wait of my life when it comes to a restaurant. I'm talking "questioning my life choices" long. We ended up getting our food to go because we genuinely didn't know if a server would ever appear. Needless to say, service was rough.. long wait to even order drinks, even longer to get them, and everything felt oddly spaced out. The appetizer platter was actually delicious, but by the time it arrived we were practically in a new fiscal year. Maybe sitting inside puts you on the Island Time+ plan? You'd think they'd want to upsell alcoholic drinks, but I guess not. The food I tried later was... fine. Not bad. I asked for rice and beans - got white rice with a cold bean salad situation. Not what I expected. A little pricey, but it is in a very touristy area, so that part tracks. Overall? Too much waiting, not enough wow.
We had an unforgettable night at La Parrilla! The service was amazing! Located at the end of the Luquillo Kiosk strip, La Parrilla is serving up some delicious fresh food. The fried cheese was paired with a sweet jam giving a nice balance. The fried snapper was cooked perfectly making it very easy to separate the bones. Super chill vibes right off the beach make this an easy choice for dinner.
This restaurant is awesome. We were visiting from NY staying at El Conquistador with our two kids and this was classic puerto rican food executed VERY well. They don't take reservations and the line to sit seems intimidating but it moves fast (the restaurant is deceivingly big). We ordered alcapurrias, empanadillas (beef & lobster), fried pork, fried snapper and alfredo pasta for the kid. Service is supper efficient but warm - we will 100% be back
Warning: La Parrilla will ruin other restaurants for you. The terrace view is unfair. The Boricua Sampler is a love letter to Puerto Rican flavors. My wife's lobster made her forget I existed. The grouper made me forget everything else. And the service? Flawless -- like they actually enjoy taking care of you. Come hungry. Leave happy. Come back soon. That's the La Parrilla formula.
This spot stood out along the lively strip of waterfront restaurants in Luquillo, Puerto Rico- perfect for grabbing some bites before heading back to our room. Picture a dirt parking lot just off the highway, leading into a big restaurant with a tin roof and loud, carefree energy. The vibe here is alive. Salsa pumps through the speakers and even without a dance floor, you'll find people making their own space to show off their Salsa moves. It's that kind of place that has no frills, just fun. [Let's talk piña coladas. I've had a string of them across the island, all ordered with alcohol... yet every single one tastes like a virgin. I've given up. Give me natural, tropical juice or water- or a glass of wine when the mood strikes. Puerto Rico might be the birthplace of the piña colada, but these folks LACK in the alcohol part big time]. Food wise, my husband was in heaven with his meat alcapurrias. I went for the Caribbean fried cheese and a fish empanada. While the empanada shell was crispy and fresh, the filling was almost nonexistent, which was a letdown considering the size of the shell. Still, between the upbeat servers, no-reservations-needed vibe and easygoing energy, this place offers a fun, come-as-you-are experience. It's not gourmet, but it's got a bit of heart.
Beautiful setting! Super great ambiance! Servers are amazingly sweet. We had really wonderful lobster. The only downside was their "melted butter" wasn't butter as we 8 are familiar with. Maybe it was ghee? Whatever it is/was it was unsalted. With all that said, we all wished we had melted salted real butter for our delicious lobsters.

My fiancé and I visited La Parrilla for lunch on our week-long vacation. I had the pineapple rice and shrimp dish (pina rellena de arroz con camarones), while he had the seafood mofongo. We both enjoyed mojitos, which were only $8 each (I thought that was a steal given they could easily charge double that for a single drink.). My dish was easily one of the top three things I ate during our entire trip. He didn't love the mofongo, but to be fair, it was his first time trying it. He isn't the biggest fan of tostones, so this is to no fault of the restaurant. More of a learning/preference thing. Our server was welcoming and accommodating. Worth visiting if you're in Luquillo. read more
We went there on 12/26/22 around 1ishPM. The restaurant was buzzing with the after lunch crew. There was no line but you could tell all the waiters were busy. We were seated fairly quickly. In the party of three, we ordered the lamb chop, skirt steak, and the octopus salad. We also ordered some mojitos. The order took a long time to get to the table (45-50 min). The food was good but the steak was overcooked. The drinks were spot on. Definitely a contender if you are in the area. But not that when we left the line to get a table was long. read more

We stayed in Puerto Rico for a week and this place was our absolute favorite- hands down. We're just disappointed that we found it on our last night!! If we found it sooner, we would have definitely come again... and again... and again. We got the seafood filled Lobster, the teriyaki NY steak with pasta, and the whole red snapper. All AMAZING. OH AND I CANNOT FORGET THE QUATRO LECHES DESSERT. FREAKING DELICIOUS. Huge portions, great flavor, and cooked just perfectly. The cherry on top was the beautiful view as we ate dinner to the beachside sunset! read more

Indoor outdoor in the February is great. This food is good ad, the service is great and the location is great if you're staying in Luquillo! I went here with my husband in September. After a Long Beach day in Fajardo we decided to head to Luquillo. We walked around and the lobsters in the front attracted us to come inside. I got something to cool down. I got a octopus salad that reminded me of how my mom makes it. It was refreshing! My husband had mofongo with a seafood mix. Both dishes were so delicious. The restaurant was very nice and we could see the beach from our seats. It's was great! read more
I've been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. In fact, La Parrilla is one of my standard recommendations whenever anyone asks me for a good restaurant in Puerto Rico. Service is good and fast enough. My favorite appetizer is the cheese balls. If you are in the mood for fresh fish or lobster, this is a good place to fulfill that craving. This was a very yummy place, we were greeted and seated immediately, we ordered several items to share as you can see the portions are large. Everything came out very fast! All the food was amazing. So yummy. The ambiance is more of a family restaurant, lots of lathers groups. Very welcoming. read more
Recommended by our host for Airbnb guide book and it did not disappoint. They have both inside and outside seating. Indoor was nice because they had ac and you had a beautiful view of the beach. We started off with a few drinks and the appetizer. Drinks came fairly quickly and the app right after, which was good because we were starving. When they say island time, they mean it. The food was all cooked to order kinda similar to home cooked food. They do try their best to bring all dishes at once but the ribeye seem to take the longest. Can't dock off stars for the timing since this has been the same everywhere we go. Plus the food was spot on, where can you go wrong. They had several seafood options, we may need to come back for and try but I was happy to try their version of mofongo. If your in the area it is a must try plus the beach is steps away and mojito lab down the street to grab a refreshing beverage as you enjoy the outdoors. read more

If you are looking for a swine free mofongo they have one - mofongo de yuca con pollo en al ajillo o creole sauce. The al ajillo sauce is cream base and I sensed gluten in there. So if you have food intolerances / allergies - be careful! It was delicious either way!! read more

We ate at La Parrilla twice, once for dinner after a day in El Yunque and for lunch. On a beach day. We loved the dinner so much we came back. The pineapple shrimp and rice was excellent. Served on a pineapple the slices of hot pineapple and shrimp were so tasty. Our lunch was lobster in fried plantains and beef pastillos. Both were hot and yummy. Great location with separate parking at the end of a row of restaurants. read more

The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the wait. We arrived at 8:20, and didn't get our food until 10:30pm. By the time we finished eating we were struggling to stay awake on the drive back to the hotel. I had the stuffed snapper with sweet plantains and it was delicious, I would recommend calling in advance to find out when is a good time to come because they do not take reservations. read more

We visited La Parrilla, it was pretty busy but we were accommodated very quickly. As you walking in you can see their lobster tanks that have huge lobsters! I ordered the seafood mofongo, rice and beans and yuca fries to share with my wife. They also make great drinks, I had a margarita. My mom ordered the Paella which was too salty which was disappointing. Aside from that I would recommend! read more
Great food spot very close to the beach. Theres inside and outdoor seatings with nice views of the beach. One of the best empanadas I've had in PR was from here. The fried fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. read more

Decided to get lunch before horseback riding and found this place nearby. It was close to the beach so the view from the table was very pretty. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Our waitress was very sweet and the whole staff made sure we were okay. The manager checked on us as well and was very attentive. read more
We took a rain forest tour that took us to Loquillo beach. We stopped here and ordered an appetizer sampler and tostones filled with crab. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. This place is at the end of a strip of other stores and restaurants on the beach. I think the mounds of trash along the beach affected how I felt about my overall experience. La Parrilla was clean and a respite from the tour. This place was a haven for us and one of the only places that seemed safe enough to eat at. read more

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant based on reviews for seafood in Puerto Rico. After not such a great experience at a restaurant last night, we were a little skeptical on what we would find. The food here was excellent. The service was incredible and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether they be vocals or tourist. read more
We stopped in for appetizers and drinks. None of the drinks and much alcohol in them. We had Mai Tai's and Pina Coladas; the flavor was great, but for drinking on an empty stomach after a long hike, one would expect to be able to tell they had alcohol in them... nope. Save your money or ask for the alcohol to be served on the side. What a joke! read more

We walked the entire strip twice lol and finally decided to try La Parrilla, so glad we did. We had the Cerviche for an appetizer it is phenomenal!! The dinner I'm not sure of the names of our main dishes but mine was a lobster in a garlic sauce and my husbands was a steak in mushroom sauce. Oh and u will not leave hungry the portions are huge. read more

The wait was a bit long and disappointing that they did not have reasonably sized lobster (smallest size was 4 lb). The ribeye, New York strip and veal were all over cooked. The fish was good. I recommend upgrading your side to the mofungo especially the fried one. read more

The appetizers were solid (jalapeño poppers were fire) and the shrimp mofongo was delicious. The service was a little slow, but overall a good experience! read more
This food was absolutely amazing!! It looked, smelled and tasted wonderful. My friends and I enjoyed the location being able to look out at the water while we ate. The service was good and we got our food in a timely manner and inhaled it. This was a recommendation from a local and we were very glad we took them up on the offer. Really enjoyable dinner by the beach! My friends and I tried the appetizer plate, mofongo, and empanadas, all of which were flavorful and satisfying. The appetizer plate featured a variety of fried finger foods, though half the time we had no idea what we were even eating. The mofongos were well-seasoned, and the generous heaping of sauce prevented the plaintain/yucca from becoming dry. I preferred the textural experience of the yucca mofongo, but would recommend that others try both. read more

Drink - pina colada Ok! Wow! Stronger on the pineapple than coconut. A bit icy / not creamy. SO good though, 9.99999/10 Main - pina rellena de arroz con camarones WOW!!!!! so much flavor. I totally recommend this dish if you comes huge portions. everyone at my table preferred it as the best food on the table. most flavorful shrimp I've ever had and the pineapple is SO good. Side - plantains Amazing fried plantains and great dipping sauce Overall I think you NEED to come and order the aforementioned dishes. Truly so good. read more

Great service. We had a large group and they were faster than Wendy's. Best alcapurrias we could find. Sit outside if you can for beautiful views. Inside is just a beach kind of place, but food is not. Pick your own lobster and be happy. read more
Mannnnn. After a hike at el yunque. And a quick dip in the Juan diego waterfall we were starving! This place had great reviews so we gave it a shot. Everything was delicious and the entire staff was so warm and welcoming and friendly. Id definitely return. We had the Boricua sampler. Lobster ($30 a pound). Grilled chicken and breaded shrimp. This place was a great recommendation and excellent first dinner while on vacation in "la isla del encanto" Puerto Rico!! This restaurant is only about 30 meters from the ocean and while you wait it can make for a nice romantic mix, the sound of the waves, a nice night, awesome food and great company. Our table next to us were super loud but then I remembered, we were in Puerto Rico :-) and I am sure they were using their inside voices as much as they could hahaha good times. For my drink I had the Parcha (passion fruit) frappe. It was really good and matter of fact had a refill mid meal. We started off with a sampler, everything was fried so it was delicious, it had fried cheese, cheese balls, sorullitos de maíz (fried corn sticks), palitos de yuca (fried cassava), some sweet bread, and some cordon blue like balls. Everything was good in the sampler. For a main dish I had the "pechuga rellena" or stuff chicken breast.... It was ridiculously good!! It is a chicken breast filled with sweet plantains, wrapped in back and bathe in hollandaise sauce. It came with a side of tostones or green plantains and a small salad. I licked the plate clean! Well, I didn't touch the salad but everything else went in my belly. My boy is my temple so I don't tarnish it with salad plus I had to leave room for dessert. For dessert, I was having a hard time deciding so the server strongly recommended the browny cheesecake so I went for it plus the 4 leches cake. Yes two desserts, remember I didn't eat my salad so I was compensating. The 4 leches postre was really good, maybe not the best I've had but it was really good. The browny cheesecake was meh but I still cleaned my plate. Staff was very nice, friendly and tented to our needs in a pleasant manner. Definitely would return and recommend to everyone. read more

I love this place. Anytime you get fish this fresh and walk away full is the best. Literally, I believe they got the fish out the water that moment upon order and cooked it. It was that damn good! Came here for a late lunch. Were seated at a great table outside with a view of the ocean. They had a fun cocktail menu that everyone enjoyed. I got the pineapple with shrimp and rice. Sooo amazingly good. My son had the seafood monfongo which he also enjoyed. But it was not as good as the pineapple, get the pineapple!!! Easy parking near the beach. read more

This place is right off the highway with the beach on the other side. It had a nice atmosphere - opening to the beach; staff and service were great. The shops along the strip were cute. The water view was stunning. The first evening we went, we only had time to get apps. The chicken wings, empanadas and drinks were delicious. We came back the next day for their lobster. To our great disappointment, the lobster was over grilled. It was not tender. The one pound tail with salad and rice was almost $70 so it wasn't cheap. Too expensive for overcooked food. Just go for apps and drinks and look at the view. read more

Yummy! Popped in here on the way to our Air BNB. Started my meal off with a delicious cup of coffee. My husband and I shared the appetizer sampler. It was so tasty! The dipping sauces were divine He got the snapper stuffed with shrimp and fries. Fries were good and ge enjoyed the fish. I ordered the pineapple shrimp and rice dish with sweet plantains! Yummm! Each meal had a small salad which accompanied the food nicely! Definitely recommend. read more
