There is no parking and it's hard to get to, but the food is so worth it! This hidden Mexican spot has been here for 25+years and I missed it until now. There was a cute friendly couple running the place all alone when we went for lunch. Cozy place with only a few tables. We had to wait a bit to order but we're greeted with chips and salsa when we came in so it was fine (great-tasting salsa and delicious homemade chips). I sampled the chile rellano and beef enchilada and both were very tasty! My boo got a green chile burrito which he was a little disappointed in because he wanted a wet burrito and it was not, but that's his fault for not reading the menu and it was still a great burrito. Prices are reasonable and we will definitely be back! read more

3.5 stars is pretty accurate for La Paz No. 2 (is there a La Paz No. 1?) Having tried several Mexican restaurants in the area recently, La Paz No. 2 has made the list of places approved for repeat visits. However, there are some qualifiers: Cons: Parking sucks. No cerveza. Food is good, not amazing. Ambiance is very divey. Service trends toward slow. Pros: Food is good, not amazing. Ambiance is very divey (good for post beach visits when looking like crap in a damp bathing suit.) Service is okay. Price is reasonable. Works well for take-out. Appears to be family owned. Show your local Mexican food spot some love! Stop in, grab 3 chicken tacos for under $6 on Taco Tuesday and spread the word. The salsa is bomb, the chips are crunchy and thin, and the crispy tacos are worth it! I used to come here growing up and its still my favorite spot to grab tacos in South Bay! You can stop in after you had a long day at the beach or grab the food before you hit the sand and the waves! Sure parking is tricky because its on the street unless you park in the big parking lot across the way. It's not the best place to sit down and eat, but order ahead for pick up or pop in to order to-go. You will not be disappointed. read more

If you are looking for Mexican authenticity, this is your spot! This place does not compare to the same tasting local Mexican restaurants in this area such as el burrito jr, el tarasco, el torito, & mexican riviera. La paz's #2's green chicken enchiladas are to die for!! Nothing better than a little side of sour cream to top this plate! ***the restaurant has dine in but it is very small so I recommend to go orders. Keep in mind, there is no parking so people must try to find parking in the front or in the residential area read more

I love the Chile relleno here, it's perfectly done. The carnitas Guadalajara style n hard beef taco is also delicious. Be forewarned: lots of saucy smothering, esp w burritos, enchiladas, chile rellenos. The salsa isn't that spicy so maybe have a hot sauce handy. Overall, savory n delicious, solid choice for dinner. The best REAL Mexican food in the South Bay. IDC where else you've been, it wasn't it though. The lady is the sweetest abs her husband tears up the kitchen. ANYTHING you get will be fire. I haven't been since quarantine because my dish is an eat there kind of thing, but I legit shed years after my first bite. I missed them so much. This place is awesome. I've been eating here for over 15 years. In terms of getting authentic Mexican food in the beach cities, this is your place. Their beans, rice and salsa are delicious and authentic. I would highly recommend their carnitas, shredded chicken, and chile verde in terms of proteins. Although the carne asada is good, I wouldn't say its their specialty. My mother frequently orders the Chile relleno burrito, and my father gets their taco and enchilada combo and they love it. The Chile Verde plate and burrito is another dish we frequently order which is amazing but super spicy! I personally think their carnitas is the best you cant find in the beach cities. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. One topic I have to mention is they use more than enough salt in their dishes. Many times, too much salt. That hasnt stopped me or my family from eating here but you will definitely notice it. That being said, La Paz is an amazing option for authentic mexican food for a neighborhood that lacks real Mexican options. Bottom line, La Paz isnt the place for street tacos, its a place for more authentic mexican dishes and wet burritos. Not to mention their have their own delivery if you live local to then restaurant (non third party delivery). Family ran & their service is amazing. Free chips and salsa. My first time eating from here and everything was great. The delivery took about 30 minutes which was perfect. Giant portions, flavorful food, not salty and no stinginess with ingredients. Nice people, good food, fast service, reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is fairly small and not the best for sit down, but for take-out, thumbs up. I went with the Carne Asada Burrito, which was quite tasty and pretty filling. The asada may have been slightly oversalted, but great flavor overall. read more

Super disappointed with my take out yesterday. I ordered a tostada and ground beef tacos. Tacos were okay, but there was no tostada! It was literally chips under beans, lettuce and cheese and guac. No actual taco tostada shell and very watery, chips were soggy. Probably wont be back. Bummer. I should have taken a picture. read more

Delivery time is pretty fast. Good is hella good. Cheese enchiladas, their rice OMG! I like the Jr. deluxe burrito, dry with extra cheese. Prices are a bit high, but it's free delivery, so that's where they make up for it. read more

If they were too busy (there were a lot of people, but not absurdly so), that's where communication could have gone a long way. Even just stopping by to acknowledge the delay or apologize for the wait would have made the experience feel very different. In the end, it took nearly an hour to get our four tacos from the time we ordered it, and the wait wasn't mentioned by staff at all. The food was okay in the end, but the experience definitely left us disappointed.
