First time here, it's was recommended by several people. Jesus our waiter was really nice, very attentive. Outdoor patio, and plenty of parking. The margarita was okay. I would stick with either just Chile mango margarita or Chile pineapple margarita, not both flavors together, you couldn't taste any of the flavor. The patio door and the front door should be closed or put some kind of air condition fan because there was a lot of flies flying around. Doesn't queso fundido comes with chorizo? I was charge extra for chorizo. It was good. The enchiladas were tasty but they added too much sauce and cheese on top. My son loved the rib bye steak tacos. The carne asada with a chimichuri sauce on top was delicious. I didn't want rice and beans so i ask for a side salad. Was charge extra for the salad but it was good. It was pricey

My friend and I had reservations for 7 pm for a Saturday night. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately but to a super tiny table, so I asked the waiter if we can sit at one of the empty booths which he said wasn't available, which I thought was a bit odd since it was open. Anyways, once we were seated we got fresh tortilla chips and a red salsa which was delicious and on the house. My friend and I both wanted to tacos so we got two taco plates. I got the ribeye taco plate and she got the chicken tinga taco plate. We also each got the watermelon hibiscus margarita. The margaritas were the highlight of the night. They were well made and delicious. I could definitely drink a couple of them. In regards to the food, I enjoyed my tacos but my only complaint is if I'm being charged $20 for ribeye tacos, there should be way more meat in each taco. I feel like they skimmed on the meat, which I didn't appreciate, especially at that price point. Other than that, service was prompt and the interior was pretty. I would definitely come back for those margaritas. I believe they have weekday happy hour, so I might check that out for a more affordable experience.

We celebrated our boss's birthday in this restaurant. The staff were all very much accommodating. They were attentive, they checked on us regularly. The food were all delicious. The service was a little bit slow. The noise level was loud, however, we still were able to hear each other during our conversation. The price of the food was reasonable. The location is great. There are lots of parking spaces. Overall, it was a great experience.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of Mexican food because it can be pretty heavy, but I really enjoyed this place. First, I have to mention Yvette. She provided outstanding service from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and constantly checked on us to make sure our drinks were full and that we had everything we needed. The food was excellent. I'm especially picky about guacamole because most restaurants don't season it enough, but this was one of the best I've had. I still think Chipotle has my favorite guacamole, but this was a very close second. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The chips were also great--light, crispy, and not overly thick. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas. Both were cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and served with just the right amount of grilled onions and peppers. I also really liked the flour tortillas. They were soft, fresh, and the perfect complement to the fajitas. We also ordered the carne asada skirt steak, and it was outstanding. It had a great smoky char on the outside, was packed with flavor, and was cooked perfectly. The only downside is the parking, but that's really not the restaurant's fault. The area is just extremely busy, so finding a spot can take a little patience. Overall, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant I've tried so far. Great food, excellent service, and definitely worth the trip.

I've been to La Popular several times for happy hour but never reviewed until now. Speaking of, the happy hour isn't bad, but it's not one of my first choices for. Anyway.... Today we went for brunch, our first time. Awhile back the restaurant mailed BOGO free brunch cards to households in the area, and since this was the 2nd to last weekend to use, we went. Came in a little after 11, not very busy (The Vineyards tend to get very busy later in the day on weekends) I order a Spicy Watermelon Passion Fruit Agua Fresca - it was good, but the Watermelon was so overwhelming it was hard to taste the passionfruit. My mom had the breakfast tacos (not pictured) which she liked a lot, I had the avocado toast and added ahi tuna. The toast may look small at first, but was very rich and filling. I will say I was surprised to see the tuna in lox-like strips, but maybe that's because I'm used to ahi tuna either seared or in chunks poke style. All in all, a very nice experience. I think i wanna go back and try the pancakes.

Decided to enjoy happy hour with my puppy and they have a nice covered seating area in the back. I have been searching for dog-friendly places and this is a great option. I love the ribeye tacos, especially the taco tuesday deal! the complimentary chips and salsa is a great plus too. Service is very nice.

Loved the happy hour here, where you can get good food and drinks for a good price! I came by to check out their happy hour Friday afternoon around 4 pm and it wasn't too crowded. Happy hour is offered daily 3-6 pm and 9 pm to close and includes both food and drink specials. They also offer all day specials on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. I had the LP margarita for $9 off the happy hour menu. It was a pretty good margarita! We started with their complimentary salsa. I was very happy to find that it wasn't spicy but still very flavorful. I'm a picky eater and usually don't like restaurant salsas, but this was right up my alley. We then shared an order of their guacamole ($8.25 hh), cachetada ($6.25 hh), and a couple of tacos ($4.25 each). The guac was amazing as well, made with ripe avocados and just the right amount of salt and flavor. It comes with a giant plate of chips which were still warm from the fryer. I just wish there was more of it! For the tacos, I tried the ribeye, the gochujang carnitas (monthly special), and the regular carnitas. The regular carnitas was by far my favorite. The gochujang was okay but I personally found it too sweet, and the ribeye was a bit bland. I didn't try the cachetada as it was way too cheesy for my personal tastes, but I would recommend getting this if you like cheesy foods. My friend said it was like eating cheese straight up.

45 min wait to be seated. 1 hr wait for food. Food portions are wayyyyyyy too small for the price. We ordered the tacos with rice and beans. The fish tacos were cold. The Rib Eye tacos with cheese were very delicious, it was a shame they were so small. I would say order a few things. The place was packed! The server was friendly, the place was very dark!

Food was good my only complaint is on the guacamole way too expensive for what it is. At least have it made tableside if you're charging close to 10 dollars for about 4oz of guacamole. Lowkey if you got three chicken tacos it would have the same amount of guac. Plus they already give you chips!

This restaurant has more of an American-style take on Mexican cuisine rather than a traditional Mexican dining experience. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, making it a nice place to gather with friends or family, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The drink menu offered a great variety of cocktails and beverages, which was definitely one of the highlights. The salad was fresh and generously portioned, although the dressing and cheese were a bit too heavy for my taste and overpowered the vegetables. As for the main dishes, the steak was decent but could have been more tender. The tortillas, rice, and beans were acceptable, but I was hoping for more authentic flavors and preparation to better complement the meal. Overall, it's a pleasant restaurant with a good atmosphere, solid service, and a strong drink selection, but there is room for improvement in making some of the classic Mexican staples taste more authentic.

This review goes for two people. Audrey and Becca. Today i had the pleasure of being served by Becca, but usually Audrey takes care of me but the both of them are spectacular and lovely. Both very quick with service and also humble but bubbly personalities. My sister and I always come here and these two are the prime examples of why "i'll be back again" is always held to its standard! Also yeah the food was very good and drinks too, almost forgot to review that LOL.

My experience at La Popular was simply okay. The ambiance is definitely gorgeous. The restaurant is well decorated. Where I fear they lost points was speed of service and in part, the food. We were seated for an entire inning of baseball on the TV before we were even greeted, let alone given waters. Roughly 10 minutes? I do want to say, our server was an angel. He was very helpful, patient, and nice. After putting in our orders for drinks, apps, and entrees all at once, it was interesting that our drinks came out much later than our appetizers. I had ordered the Maui mahi tacos. The tortillas of 2/3 of my tacos were basically mush. I ate one taco like a taco, and the other two I ditched the tortilla and made a little salad I guess. It's not necessarily that I had a bad experience, the flavors of the guacamole, steak chicharron, and my mahi mahi were definitely good, but other than that, it just wasn't anything to write home about.

We love this place! For having been open for only a few months, they have a well oiled machine. Great service and great food/cocktails. We recommend the guacamole WITH the chicharrones, anything with the carnitas, and the mole enchiladas. First time visit and we had an reservation in the afternoon. Reserving was simple and clear on Google. We arrived a few minutes earlier and we were immediately seated. Our server took our orders within 5 minutes and everything came out pretty fast in orderly manner with appetizers followed by entrees and dessert. Shout out to our server Jason. We had the steak and shrimp fajitas, the chili relleno and New York steak. The beef was tender and tasty. Chili relleno was semi spicy but so delicious. Our only critique would be the chicken being a bit to oily and salty sort of like chícharo but overall was filling. And to close the night, ordered the tres leches, flan and churros dessert and all were exceptional. The flan definitely made an impression as the smell of egg is off putting but was perfect with a drip of coffee. The ambiance is youthful and loved the lowlight. Would highly recommend. read more

Really terrible food and a terrible price. Very little flavor and ridiculous serving size. I asked for carne asada and the girl said we don't have that. We have rib eye. The tiniest beef Jerky flap of meat on tiny non homemade tortillas. Help Porter ranch have flavor! So many bad restaurants. read more

Came with a large party. They were able to accommodate us with the same-day reservation. Waited about 20 minutes after our appointment time because they were cleaning up after a large party. Great customer service loved our server. Very intuitive explained a lot about the menu. Drinks did come out a little late Food was OK will come back to get a second opinion I know this is a new restaurant, so definitely want to give them another try. love the aesthetic dark lighting. Lots of areas to take cute pictures. read more

Not for us. Dimly lit and loud pounding music. Geared toward a younger crowd. We are old school simple taste people. I had the ribeye tacos. They were but I prefer steak tacos are a couple local places much better. Did not like watermelon hibiscus margarita. Had taijin on it which I really dislike. Their flan wasn't what I expected or likes. Flan with crumble and ice cream wasn't for me. Personally I won't return. Don't care for the vibe or food. read more

This wasn't my first intended spot, but I'm so glad that it happened to work out that I would end up here. Firstly, Ariel is an absolute sweetheart, helpful, and clearly a great multi-tasker. I really appreciated that she went out of her way to find a really spicy salsa for me without even asking, that was awesome. Before getting into the meal, the chips and salsa at the beginning were delicious. Perfectly crunchy and warm, and the salsa was delicious. For food I ordered the chile relleno - it was spicy, a delicious variant from what I am used to (the pickled carrots especially stood out) and the salsa verde was delicious and had a lot of lime flavor (love that). A great place to stop by, highly recommend :) read more

I give this restaurant 5 stars because of the food location and service. I was so happy to hear they were opening a location near me. I've loved the food and on top of that the service there has always been excellent. Got charged regular prices during happy hour. They fixed the 3 items that were overcharged but I almost didn't catch it. Ambience is dark and loud but still enjoyable. During their first week of being open, maybe it's normal to have staff still getting adjusted. The server tried to memorize our order and came back twice for clarification. He was nice and helpful though. Churros and drinks were the best. They didn't have any vegetarian rice which was unfortunate. Still got charged full price on the meal without any sides. Probably just gonna be a drink spot for me. Taco was soupy. Some of the salsas were good. Chips were excellent. Guacamole too. Overall a little disappointed but it was decent. Might try it again down the road after they get settled a bit. I don't think they prepare the vegetarian items on separate surfaces because it tasted like there was cross contamination in the food. A plain cheese quesadilla has a strong scent and taste of meat. It wasn't busy for our early dinner time but it got very busy by 6pm. read more

Came across this gem and couldn't be more happy with the food and experience. The service was quick, friendly and the ambiance was just right. Highly recommend! We had the Guacamole with Rib eye chicharrones for the appetizer along with fresh salsa and chip.. (very yummy) I also had their mango margarita(it was perfect) both my kids had their aguas frescas( mango-pineapple) for the main course, we had the Mole enchiladas and the campechano enchiladas.. beyond amazing.. deff at the top of our list! read more

This is an awesome restaurant. Manny (manager) was very friendly and accommodating with a focus on customer service. Chris, the bartender, provided excellent drink suggestions and also was committed to every detail in crafting the cocktail. The food is amazing! Very disappointed in the service. Very uncoordinated, hostess's at front desk not aware of availability of tables. Once seated waitress attending us was in a bad mood asked for water with lemon , water came no lemon. Asked for lemon was told ok but had to wait and I just got my own lemon from bar. The thing is it was not busy at all , stuck up and or just lazy people working there. During the whole fifteen minutes of the lemon ordeal, our drinks never arrived. Complained to other waitress and manager. Their work gossip was more important, they kept on chatting it up, as we waited. So we ended up walking out. read more

My family and I came for lunch and the place is really nice. It was our first time here and the service is really great! Milad was our server and he was awesome! The one thing I would say to do is if you want a booth, you do have to have a reservation which we didn't know, but there is open seating. The drinks are good too! We got the pineapple and mango agua fresca. It wasn't too sweet which we like and you won't regret trying it! The food portions are a good size and not what we were expecting. I got an Enchilada Blanca and it did not disappoint! I also had a bite of the pecado a la talla and it was very delicious! I'm not a big fish person, but if you like fish I would definitely recommend it. For dessert we got tres leches and the churros. The tres leches was my favorite because it had ice cream and I'm just a sucker for ice cream lol. Overall this place is really great! Great ambience and food! read more

We came for lunch tried their ceviche with white fish wow! That was so good I could have eaten it by myself. Their tortilla soup had a good taste almost with a hint of mole very good. They had a special street tacos el pastor so moist with rice and beans. What I like was there rice and beans in a small bow not Like your typical Mexican restaurant. Also Delanie is a great server this was our first time and she help us a lot. Thank you Delanie! read more

Good drinks! Place has happy hour from 3-6pm M-F. We sat at the bar while we waited to be seated. When we were seated Abby helped us and provided good service. Food and aguas frescas were good. Our food made its way to the table within 5 minutes! Will definitely be returning. read more

As promised, I went to dinner again a couple of weeks ago. I took this long to write the review because I wanted to really work on my evaluation. This time, I called ahead to make a reservation rather than use the app because I wanted to see what would happen using more traditional methods, especially given that the number of people manning the front podium averages three and there should be at least SOME response to a phone call. I had to call multiple times before anyone picked up because the line was busy for a very long time (an extra extension might cure this). So, here's the breakdown: Service: It's still a work in progress. There were a lot of servers and/or bussers around, but you had to seriously flag them down because there seemed to be a lot of co-workers in conversation with each other. The table wasn't offered refills on an iced-tea until dinner was over and the little water carafe wasn't refilled either, even though it was obvious that we were water drinkers. We couldn't flag anyone down about the fact that the strong air current from the open front door was making the room very cold, so I think we ate with a coat on the entire time. The empty beer bottle wasn't cleared away, either. Empty bottles are not for bragging and should be removed just as cocktail glasses are when finished. Flavor and plating: The chips and salsa do not come automatically to your table. They were offered,, and we accepted. When the chips arrived, their number was small and they were quite oily. The salsa that came with it was also a small, two-tablespoon portion, but it did have good flavor. The tacos (al pastor and campechano) had good flavor and were well- marinated. They are street-taco sized and come four to a plate. The beans and rice (about 1/4 cup of each) come in a small crock separately from the large oval plate for your tacos. It actually paradoxically makes your food look less abundant. Putting them together on the same plate would be better and save space at the table. We were just two diners at a freestanding table and I cannot imagine four people with all their plates feeling comfortable eating there with dishes everywhere. The tacos with the rice and beans all on a single dish would have seemed more visually satisfying and taken up less space at the table. The churros for dessert come in a cute little cast iron container with two dipping sauces (chocolate and caramel). They were served hot and well-sugared and had a good amount of cinnamon. They did seem more crunchy all the way through like a cookie as opposed to having any pillowy softness on the inside, as I'm used to. Ambiance: The decorations and lighting are designed to give a heavier bar-than-grill sort of vibe, but there were children present---from a baby to tweens and teens. It is a family neighborhood,, after all. The noise level is verging on intolerable. It's a restaurant, not a nightclub, and the noise is not conducive to comfortable dining. It had an average of 80 decibels of sound (as measured by a sound meter app, picture included in the review)) due to the very loud music and the screaming conversations of patrons trying to communicate over the noise. I left with an earache and headache from it. Luckily they went away on the drive home. Would we return? The jury is still out. It's not a bad restaurant in terms of flavor. The food is okay, although some items were either awkwardly-plated, oily, or poorly portioned, If they can clean up service a bit, and decide whether they are a restaurant or a nightclub, maybe we might come back. read more

Wife was looking forward to dining here when she heard what would be opening in the space and the reviews from other locations. We had a reservation for a party of 6 and had to wait about 10 minutes while one of the hostesses prepped a table. This gave time to look around the restaurant and the first thing I notice are the two tables that have not been cleared. It doesn't seem that there are enough, or any, bussers. Then there's the music - it's loud for a restaurant. Not sure of the vibe that they're trying to project (maybe they want to turn tables by having people eat faster to get out sooner?), but it doesn't work (more on this later). When the hostess says our table is ready, she proceeds to lead us to a high top. Seriously, we have 2 senior citizens in our party and a child who's head is barely at the height of the table. My wife has to point this out and ask for a booth or suggests that 2 empty four tops be pushed together. The hostess says she'll get us a table and we wait another 10 minutes or so. When it's ready, we are seated at 2 tables - one square and one round - that aren't pushed together. For the rest of the dinner, I can't talk to the other people at the table because 1) I'm like 8 feet away and 2) we can't hear one another over the music. So we're seated, but then it's another wait for a someone to come over and bring water, or chips and salsa, or just acknowledger that we're in the restaurant. The wait became too much for my wife and she does what she never does - she went up to the hostess station to ask for a server (where she overhears the hostesses mention that there is no one assigned to that table/section of the restaurant). I'm ready to leave at that point, but she wants to ride it out. Our server finally arrives and takes our drink and appetizer order. Chips and salsa finally arrive and, I kid you not, it's the smallest bowl of chips I've ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. And the bowl of salsa is even smaller. All of the other reviews of the chips are spot-on. Nothing to write home about. We order our entrees and, wait for it... rice and beans are extras that you have to pay for... in a Mexican restaurant! At least the food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it was warm. But, it came in waves, so we have one part of the table(s) sitting and waiting until 4 different runners eventually bring out everyone's entrees. My father-in-law was disappointed with the portion size of his; my son's steak that was ordered medium came out well-done (as in, it was gray). Our waitress didn't come to see if everything was okay (maybe the conversation she was having with other waitresses at the bar was more important). At that point, we all just wanted to get the hell out of there. We ate, tried to get our server's attention for the bill, was given the wrong bill, paid, and left. Today, we visited La Popular, a Mexican restaurant we had enjoyed in the past. Our first experience there was delightful; the food was excellent, and the service was both professional and kind. Based on this, we decided to return. However, our subsequent visits have been less positive. During our second visit, the atmosphere had noticeably changed. The hostess and manager at the front desk appeared very serious and almost indifferent to our presence. After eventually getting their attention, we were seated at the bar, where we waited a considerable time before anyone offered us menus or drinks. The bartender's demeanor was curt and unfriendly. Despite this, we decided to give La Popular another chance, as we genuinely wanted to support Hispanic-owned businesses. We arrived on a Saturday at 11 AM, right as they opened. This time, the hostess at the front desk greeted us with a smile, but the manager's attitude suggested we were fortunate to be there, which left us feeling uncomfortable once again. The new bartender exhibited the same unfriendly and curt attitude as before. The food was satisfactory; the tacos were tasty, but the drinks felt overpriced for their quality. Comparatively, we've had better experiences at Madres in Valencia, which is where we plan to dine in the future. It's disappointing, as we had high hopes for La Popular, but we cannot recommend a place where both the staff and management seem to lack professionalism and friendliness. Perhaps management could remind everyone to be more welcoming and show more appreciation to their customers. In a market with so many dining options, people will eventually tire of rudeness. We wish them the best, but we will not be returning or recommending this establishment. read more

La Popular in Porter Ranch is a hip and stylish restaurant with a lively, modern vibe - definitely the kind of place that's perfect for drinks, date nights, or catching up with friends. The decor is sleek with dim lighting, upbeat music, and a bit of a club-like atmosphere. We visited for dinner as a family (my dad and my 5-year-old daughter joined), and although we didn't feel out of place and they do offer a kids' menu, the ambiance felt more like a trendy lounge than a family restaurant. I imagine it would feel a bit more kid-friendly during lunch, when the lighting and energy are more relaxed. The drinks were fantastic - creative and well-balanced - and the food was also good. I ordered the Forbidden Paradise Mule which was beautiful and delicious. We also ordered the Salsa Tray that came with a variety of different salsas (which were a lot better than the complimentary salsa. The complimentary salsa that came with the chips didn't have much flavor and tasted a bit like store-bought. We also got the guacamole which was good. For my meal, I ordered the Quesabirria and subbed the rice and beans for a salad. I'm so glad I did since the Quesabirria was on the greasy side (but I guess that's how Quesabirrias are supposed to be). It was good, although I thought the consommé could've had more flavor. We also ordered the Steak Fajitas which were said to be good and my daughter got the Cheese Quesadilla plate which came with an Agua fresca and rice and beans. It was definitely a big portion. The service was excellent - friendly, attentive, and fast. 5pm reservations. First thing you notice when you walk in is how loud it is. Lights are dimmed but there are strobe lights in the bar area. The lights came on full force a couple of times during our stay but dimmed again. Someone doesn't know how to control the lighting. But most of the time you couldn't read the small print on the menu. 4 people in our group. Guest A ordered side salad and entree, Guest B ordered slad and entree, Guest C and D ordered salad and entree to share. The food came out like this. Guest A salad. Few minutes later, Guest C and D received their salad. And shortly after that C and D received their entree. Several minutes later, Guest B received his entree. Minutes later, his salad. Finally, Guest A received his entree. Kitchen needs to get their timing down. Wait staff didn't want to wait for fear our food would be dried out under the warmers. Our waitstaff went on break and the turnover was clumsy and a few things were forgotten. This is when management should step in. It looked like there were a couple of managers standing around. Living in SoCal, we have so many great Mexican choices. This was not a unique or overly delicious experience. The drinks were not special or overwhelming in any way, especially for the price point. Was finally able to visit La Popular today. The location and ambiance were very nice, we made a reservation same day and were seated in the patio area. We started with the chips and a variety of salsas, as well as the ahi tuna tostadas. The tostadas were a highlight, bursting with flavor and a perfect start to the meal. However, they were a bit on the pricey side for an appetizer. The salsas, unfortunately, didn't quite hit the mark for me, as I only found one that I truly enjoyed. Moving on to the drinks, we tried three different options, each with its own unique presentation. The watermelon hibiscus margarita had a surprising smoky undertone, considering it was made with blanco tequila. The Paradise mule was a hit, with the ginger and bee pollen adding a delightful tang. I also opted for the Perla drink with blanco tequila, a sweeter choice that I found quite enjoyable. For our main course, I ordered the mole enchiladas without cheese. The hand-made tortillas were a nice touch, and the enchiladas were good. However, my boyfriend's prawn fajitas fell a bit short of our expectations. Throughout the evening, the service was excellent. We had our wedding at La Popular in June, and it was everything we envisioned and more. From our first planning discussions to the day of the event, everything came together exactly as we had discussed. The team made the entire process so easy, and on the wedding day we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing everything was in great hands. A huge thank you to Alex, Audrey, Brock, and the manager (I'm so sorry I forgot your name!) for being so accommodating, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Their service was exceptional, and they made both us and our guests feel incredibly well taken care of. The food was phenomenal! We've had so many guests tell us how much they loved it, and the biggest hit of the night was definitely the churros. People are still talking about them! One of the things we appreciated most was the flexibility to bring in our own backdrop and flowers and reserve the whole patio for our private event. It allowed us to personalize the space and create exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for while still enjoying everything La Popular has to offer. In early Jan, my two college age children and I decided to give this restaurant a try. We live 10 minutes away. For the most part, we ordered off the Happy Hour menu. We started with the queso funindo, which was good, but we paid extra and ordered it with chorizo, and we could not find the chorizo. We asked the server, and he reassured us it was in there but in small pieces. We think it was not added. We did not see or taste it. One kid got the Ahi Tuna tostadas off the regular menu. She thought they were good. My other kid and I got the tacos with rice and beans off the Happy Hour menu. The Mexican rice was bland. The chicken in the tacos did not have much seasoning. My kid thought the pastor tacos were delicious. He also ordered an Agua Fresca, but it was mostly ice. He said the Agua was okay. We had the churros with both dipping sauces. This was probably the best part of the meal! The churros tasted like the ones they sell after mass in Mexico. My kids really enjoyed the dipping sauces. I do think that since they recently opened that they are still working on glitches. Eventually, I will give them another try. The staff was very nice. Our server was awesome. The server's assistant was a young man (guessing a teen), and he was super attentive. I thought he went out of his way. Honestly, every restaurant in that complex to me is shit. La popular continues to hold this statement to be true for me. The portion size is extremely small. The price is way too expensive and the food was bland. The rice had no flavor. The beans had no flavor and for $32 Fajita plate it did not even come with rice and beans it came with four tortillas and maybe 4 ounces of steak and a crap ton of bell peppers and onions The only thing that I felt was decent was the appetizers and the salsa flight. Alcoholic beverages I guess were OK but the service was horrific. We were a party of like nine and we had to constantly hunt down our server to get help. they were attentive at the very beginning, but once we placed our order, it was crickets throughout the night trying to search out some help. And we were there for three hours. I left an 18% tip which was not deserved and I regret. And I highly recommend anybody who likes good tasty Mexican food stay far away from this place. It's the most bland Mexican food I've ever seen and tasted when it comes to their main dishes. The only thing that's halfway decent is their appetizers. And I guess their alcoholic beverages. I've been trying to give this restaurant a chance, but at this point, it's impossible to overlook how disappointing the experience is. Lunch for five people in a half-empty restaurant should never take an hour and a half. We waited 10 minutes just to have the waitress acknowledge us and take our drink order, and then another 15 minutes for her to take our food order. When the food finally arrived, the portions were laughable--barely a spoonful of beans and rice per person. On top of that, the quality of the food didn't make up for the wait. Everything felt rushed and underwhelming. We mentioned to the waitress that we were celebrating a birthday, hoping for some acknowledgment or a simple gesture to make the experience feel special. But nothing. No birthday greeting, no dessert, no effort to make us feel welcomed or appreciated. To add insult to injury, the service was consistently slow, with staff members either disappearing or not checking in on us once the food was served. It's beyond frustrating. At this point, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I won't be returning. It's a shame, because the location has potential, but the lack of attention to service, portion sizes, and customer satisfaction make it feel more like a joke than a dining experience. read more

I celebrated my birthday dinner here, and it was an absolute blast! We kicked off the evening at the bar, taking advantage of the fantastic happy hour menu. The staff was exceptional, and the vibrant atmosphere really set the tone for the night. It was surprisingly packed for Porter Ranch, and the music was just perfect. At 6 PM, we transitioned to the main dining area, where we were treated like royalty for my special occasion. I highly recommend starting with the chips and guacamole--it's a must-try! For the main course, I opted for the steak salad, while my friend enjoyed the cheese enchiladas, both of which were delicious. A special shoutout to my wonderful server, who not only provided excellent service but also surprised me by singing happy birthday! To top it all off, we indulged in the most mouthwatering churros with ice cream for dessert. Pure bliss! But the highlight of the night? The drinks! I absolutely loved the watermelon hibiscus margarita, while my friend couldn't get enough of the forbidden paradise mule. Lunches in at La Popular and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience. The food was simply outstanding, with several dishes that truly stood out. The guacamole with chicharrón was the perfect blend of flavors and textures, and the aguachiles were fresh and full of flavor. But the highlight for me was the Al Pastor enchiladas--rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. In fact, all of their enchiladas were fantastic, each one prepared to perfection. The service was also superb. Our server, Milad, was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. His recommendations were spot on, and his attention to detail really elevated our experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was just as impressive, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made for a wonderful dining experience. Went here with my daughter for my birthday. At first ,the vibe was cool.. ordered our drinks and appetizer, it took a really long time, got a watermelon hibiscus marg and there mango marg/perlas. Sent back the watermelon, my daughter didn't like it. She ended up ordering a perlas like mine. It was good, but small glasses and it took a even longer time to get it... Our entrees were ok. Our server was mia for most the part. My daughter got up to talk to the manager, letting her know it was my birthday, if there was something they can do. So she chose the flan, she asked for a candle and the manager said yes. The server puts the flan in front of me and walks away. Wow, no candle and no happy birthday... oh ya, and they charged me for the "birthday " flan.. Will definitely NOT go back to celebrate a special occasion!! I am the manager at a Steakhouse, we dont charge for a birthday dessert..and we at least say happy birthday!!!! If your going out for a casual dinner, with high energy and loud music, i guess its ok... The food was fine, but the service was horrible!! Will not be returning.... read more

Despite it being their first day, the quality of service and food was outstanding, mirroring the high standards of their US flagship location at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. The food is really good! We actually came back because my husband, my kids, and I really enjoyed…read morethe ramen and wanted to have it again. Unfortunately, the service has been disappointing both times we've visited. The first time, we ordered drinks and they were forgotten. I was willing to overlook it and figured maybe it was just an off day. But when we came back, the same thing happened again they forgot our drinks/order. It's frustrating because the food is genuinely delicious, but the service has kept me from coming back. I really hope they can improve because we all enjoyed the food and would love to return if the service gets better.
