Very lively place!! Live music and great ambience We had micheladas and a pina colada.. everything so delicious! Service was great! Will definitely be back to try some food! Their restroom did need some cleaning however .. other than that everything was cool

Tonight I stopped by to celebrate myself and definitely a place I had thought about stopping by for awhile. Well I'm glad I made it out tonight because I won't forget it was filled with celebration in the service was exceptional and the air. The food was on another level, to say the least. The plate I got was so delicious the michelada was fire. From the owner Eloy to my server Diana is a visit I will make again and again. I tell you I was well greeted and taken care of. The music was live and on point. The place is a must visit. I hope when you visit your experience is just like mine.

After several contemplations I finally got the opportunity to visit this spot, I came here during one of the Mexico World Cup games. Business was BUSY but they still managed to get my party of 2 seated and taken care of. Theyre micheladas are 10/10 along with the food. Service was QUICK despite them being at full capacity the team was taking and pushing out orders efficiently. The banda was also great after the game ended. I would highly recommend La Sexy Michelada!

The Langostino a bit saucy but delish!

Posting this since I forgot to finish my review. Ate here last weekend. Our food was delish! We ordered the Langostino very saucy and a bit spicy but yum! The wait was a bit long though, but the servers were so nice, they kept coming by to make sure our dog had water, so sweet. Ordered shrimp and fish tacos, preferred the shrimp which was yum, fish wasn't bad just liked the shrimp better. Sister and brother and law had burritos and both said they were good. We sat outside since weather was perfect that day. Will definitely be back. Service was great, street parking.

Waitress slipping herself a 20% tip without my knowledge.

Never coming to this place again!!! I was very disappointed with my experience at La Sexy Michelada in Whittier. I placed a carryout order, and when I paid, the waitress who rang me up added herself a 20% tip without my knowledge. I didn't notice until after the transaction was complete. Adding a tip to a carryout order without the customer's consent is deceptive and completely unacceptable. I don't mind tipping for good service, but it should always be my choice. This experience left me feeling taken advantage of, and because of it, I won't be returning. I recommend that anyone dining here carefully review their receipt before completing payment.

Want to update my review of this place. It's been a couple years since we were here. Decided to stop by today to have a couple of margaritas and some lunch. Had the Menudo very good flavor could use a little more meat but overall great. Had the barria tacos great flavor. Totally will be back. Service was outstanding. Music was a little loud but could still out conversation.

Tried this place out for the first time on a weekend night . Very lively in here. It's a loud environment because they have a Spanish band I think it's weekends and night time . The dishes we ordered were so good though. It came out fresh with good flavor and the portions can be shared with at least 3 people .

Excellent service! We sat inside and had some of the best micheladas I've tasted. My husband asked with no ice because I think a michi should be made without it. It waters it down. But he went to ask them and they made it exactly how he liked. We had the birria tacos, and they were very delicious, tender meat, and great consume, the only thing I would change is adding some diced onion and cilantro instead of just slices and a piece of cilantro. The bill was a little high. We shared tacos and had 3 drinks each and it was over 100$ After we finished, we sat outside to have a few more drinks. Our server came out and kept asking if we wanted any more drinks and service was just great. The only thing I would improve on is one of the waitresses was a little unprofessional and loud and was taking shots with group of guys that should've been cut off a long time ago. That could use improvement as it doesn't make your establishment look well. The other servers were very professional and nice. The decor is cute. It reminds me of going to TJ for tacos. It was early so it wasn't packed, but I am assume it does get busy in the evenings. I might try another location as they have many.

Ohhhh boy! I gotta say, this place is by far the most outstanding Mexican restaurant in Uptown Whittier. If you get lucky, Luis (The Bartender) is the MAN!!!! He prepares thee best Mexican Candy SHOT! They take care of you. The food though, let me tell you! Every single dish I've tried from breakfast, lunch to dinner has been the most AUTHENTIC! This is my go to and it should be YOURS TOO!

The food was very good. I got the red Chilaquiles with Carne Asada and my husband had a shrimp taco, a fish taco and a Carne Asada taco. The rice and beans were very flavorful. I ordered a watermelon margarita and it was so good by the time I drank a quarter of it I was already feeling buzzed. The drink had really good flavor and it wasn't too strong with alcohol, but it did the job. I will definitely come back here again. The service was great and our food came out quick.

From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding! We walked in very early during the week they have mimosas and the best White Russian drink, especially made for us !The manager Edolf went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and our waitress Anna was absolutely wonderful--friendly, attentive, and so welcoming. They truly made us feel taken care of, and it made the whole experience so enjoyable. You can tell they really care about their guests. Highly recommend coming here--you'll leave happy and wanting to return! They made us feel so comfortable the entire time. Their hospitality truly made our visit special. Great service like this is rare, and we'll definitely be coming back!

Oh honey, let me tell you something -- if I could give La Sexy Michelada zero stars, I would. And that's me being generous! From the moment I walked in, I should've trusted my instincts and sashayed right back out. The vibe was all over the place, the service was slower than a dial-up connection, and don't even get me started on the food. I ordered their so-called ceviche de pescado, expecting something fresh and flavorful. Baby, what I got tasted like it had been sitting in a dusty pantry for two presidential terms. That fish was giving expired tuna can, not ceviche. It was NOT fresh, NOT cold, and DEFINITELY not in any kind of safe temperature zone. It was giving more "food poisoning" than "fine dining." And those micheladas? Chile... gag. I don't know what concoction they were serving, but my stomach turned faster than NeNe on a reunion couch. Bitter, flat, and tasted like regret with a side of Tums. La Sexy Michelada? More like La Tragic Mistake. I will NOT be back, and honestly, this place needs a health inspector on speed dial. Shut it down, baby -- immediately!

Happy camper enjoying this glorious Watermelon Margarita

Cute brunch spot with plenty of flavor!…read more I stopped by Madres Brunch in Whittier and had a really enjoyable brunch experience. The restaurant has a cute, vibey interior, and the dishes are definitely photo-worthy. We started with the rainbow pancakes, which came as a stack of five colorful pancakes. They were definitely fun to look at and made for a great start to the meal. The Madres chilaquiles came with juicy birria and a flavorful red sauce. The steak was also surprisingly tender, and I definitely recommend asking about their house-made salsas to add even more flavor. The birria Benedict was one of my favorites. It came with a side of consomé, and the combination of the juicy birria, runny eggs, and English muffin soaking up all that goodness worked really well together. The pastor omelette was another standout, with flavorful pastor and sweet pineapple that gave the dish a nice balance. Overall, Madres Brunch is a fun spot if you're looking for a brunch with flavorful Mexican-inspired dishes and a cute atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Whittier area!

Too many choices. The food was underwhelming. It is unfortunate. I wanted it to be good as it was for a special occasion. The portions are small and again they focus on presentation and pretty dishes. I would have preferred a smaller menu. I would have liked to have a more flavorful meal. I had pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Bacon was not a good quality, super thin. Pancakes were less than average. They could have come out of a box. Eggs moist. My husband had chilaquiles and they were not appetizing at all. Small portion. Salsa was in a tiny plastic container and could have come out a jar. Coffee was good . This recommendation for the owners is to make it better so that it can be here for years to come. Simplify your menu. Review each recipe for flavor and portions. Maybe make a weekend brunch menu special and make it delicious. Try better quality ingredients. Spend less on presentation and ambiance. Make it taste better and people will come back again. Best of luck in the future.

There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. Overall, nice local joint for a peaceful weekend or vacation breakfast. Definitely recommend giving them a try. Will be back sometime.

They also serve tortilla chips with mole, which is something I haven't seen at most Mexican restaurants. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because the service has been hit or miss. We've been here three times. The first time was shortly after they opened. The food tasted decent but came out cold, and the service wasn't the best. It was during the week and not very busy, so we figured they were still working out the kinks of being a new restaurant. After some time, we decided to give them another try. We went on a busy Friday night and were seated right away. The service was much better and everything seemed to be running more smoothly. We talked with the owner who was working as well as his wife who was bartending. They were both really friendly, and the owner seemed genuinely happy that we came back after we told him about our first experience. He even gave my husband a free beer after we moved to the bar to keep drinking after we finished our meals to allow for other guests to dine at the table we were. There was also a trio playing that night which added to the ambiance and was a nice way to end the work week. Our most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago for my husband's birthday. It was during the week and once again they were short-staffed. There was only one waitress taking care of the entire restaurant. She was so sweet and hustling the whole time but she was also bartending while serving every table. We definitely had to pack our patience because she was doing the best she could. Overall, Sol 626 has so much potential to be a great spot. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are what keep bringing us back.
