After show late night eats hit the spot! The guy there was very gentle and suggested things to me since it was my first time. There, not having a loaded baked potato. The portion was huge and delicious and hot and fresh. I got garlic butter, salt, pepper, cheese, bacon beans, chipotle chicken, sour cream and their spud sauce. Wow!!! Just wow!!! These have got to be the creamiest smoothest baked potato that I have ever had in my life. It looks like they split 3 potatoes for 2 orders so that we would get enough spuds for the order. Well let's just say that it was appreciated and it was yummilicious!! I thought at first that one was a little under done as it looked like it but with the first bite, I knew I was 1000000000% wrong! Like I said.... Smoothest creamiest potatoes I have ever had in my life. And I'm from Texas where we had the baked potato at Jason's deli. I grew up eating that and I always thought that was the best until today that is. Lol I've read previous reviews from people complaining about this place not being opened on time or having to wait for the potatoes to cook so I made sure to get it delivered. Lol but honestly until a place has been opened for at least year.... I don't try to judge too harshly as it takes a long LONG time to get the kinks worked out. So as I said, I got delivery so I have no idea what it actually looks like inside or what the table situation is as I didn't go there. I hope to go there soon as they are literally walking distance from my apartment. Yay me!! The plain was delicious and not so plain and the fully loaded was delicious as well. The hubby and I really enjoyed it both. Also, I am not sure why but they did add a bottle of Jarritos soda to my order. I didn't order it as I am diabetic and the carbs from the spud was enough but it was appreciated as I LOVE Jarritos pineapple soda. Absolutely LOVED these potatoes. Ok so here's the thing, I'm giving this place five stars because of their potatoes and how absolutely delicious they are! Lots of options for toppings and the person helping us answered all the questions we had prior to ordering which was really helpful. So the food is great, the service is incredibly kind, now let's talk about the ambiance. Even though there is some small seating available I would say this is a place where you're most likely going to want to order and take with you, as it's very hot in their restaurant! I assume that's because they always have the oven going to bake their potatoes. The one con I will say is the hours. We showed up after the posted hours and were told it would be an additional 25-30 mins before the potatoes would be ready. It wasn't an issue as we had a drink at a nearby restaurant while we waited BUT I can see it being problematic for others if the posted opening hours aren't correct. I hope they're able to figure out the hours situation so that it more accurately reflects their actual open hours. I had the chance to check out La Spud Guys during their soft opening for friends and family--huge shoutout to the owner, Emil, for the invite. I've been supporting him since the original tent days in Glendale, and seeing this new brick-and-mortar spot come to life is honestly amazing. The new location comes with some awesome menu upgrades--nacho cheese, fajita veggies, corn--all of which I added to my spud along with chipotle chicken and avocado salsa. It was delicious. The flavors hit just right, and the quality keeps leveling up. The space itself is super cool--kind of hidden, but so much better than eating out of a tent. There's a ton of outdoor seating (both covered and uncovered) plus a few indoor spots too. Emil mentioned they plan to bring out board games soon and turn it into a chill hangout spot. Love that vibe. I'm definitely coming back once they officially open. Solid flavors, really liked the heat and crunch from the corn, crispy onions, and Hot Cheeto dust. The spud sauce (kind of a chipotle aioli with sour cream) worked well with it. This review is long overdue! Got my first spud from them earlier this year for my birthday, immediately loved it. The potatoes are fresh and hot, nice and buttery smooth. The toppings are peak and super customizable! My go to, since I don't eat meat, is a potato with garlic butter, beans in tomato sauce, extra cheese, corn, crispy onions, and sour cream. SO GOOD. And the customer service? Top tier. They are always super nice and friendly there! It's fun to chop it up while they're making your spud. I find myself craving a loaded spud at least once a week. Food was great, but if you're not familiar, you'll have difficulty finding it. No street-side signage, and nothing's obvious in the dark during their night hours. Parking's atrocious, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. Across the street from Ralph's/Starbucks/CityWok...right next to Shell Gas. Enter through the breezeway at adjacent restaurant Vivians, or in the back alley. Use Starbuck's bathroom, because LA Spud Guys is only for employees, the evil wench at Shell wouldn't let my little girl use theirs, and a homeless person had been locked in the one at Walgreens for 20 minutes. Now to the food: HOT, TASTY, & MASSIVE PORTIONS. I got one with chili and my daughter had chicken and BBQ sauce. We both really liked them, but will switch off next time because I just loved the chicken. Took one home for my husband and he loved it, too. Definitely hope to go again! If it were my business, I'd have a flashy lighted portable arrow sign made to put out front to help idiots like me find it more easily. read more

Updating to three stars as I would still love to try this one day and wish the business continued success Im writing this review because this is the third time I've driven from San Francisco wanting to try Spud Guys and they have either been closed or not communicative about their hours. The first time I tried going to the tent when the spuds were gaining TikTok vitality. They had sold out a few hours before their closing time. I was in LA for that one night so we couldn't come back. No problem, they must be popular! I drove down from San Francisco to LA again this Monday. Closed on Monday. I try Tuesday for lunch. They posted on their Instagram story that unfortunately they had to close for lunch. I DMed asking if they'd be open for lunch on Wednesday (today) and they said yes! Wednesday it is! Fast forward to today I see their hours are 12-4 PM. Drove about 45 mins from where we're staying. Got here at 1 pm. Closed. A waitress from the restaurant connected said they open at 2 today. Okay no problem, went to get some Portos before making our drive back to SF. Got back to the Spud Guys restaurant restaurant at 2:15. Door was still locked. Another waiter from the connecting restaurant says "oh I think the owner stepped out for a bit but he'll be back soon." He was kind enough to offer us some water. We waited an hour in 93° heat for nobody to show up. The restaurant we were waiting at was closing up so we decided to leave and not bother them anymore. Unfortunately, I have to make the 6 hour drive back to SF again without having tried one of these viral spuds. Would still love to try this place one day, all I ask is please update your hours if you plan on closing/ make note of it somewhere online. read more

What can I say?!? Somehow the potato gets better every time I get one. Not only is everything incredibly fresh, it's also extremely tasty. I can't recommend them enough. They are the nicest people you could ever meet and even when busy they have the best personality! Was really looking forward to trying this spot and unfortunately my experience fell short. Went in with a friend to get a plate each and everything just went wrong. The guy working there was constantly sneezing which we tried to overlook but then we could see him handling money with gloves on and making and touching our potatoes with the same gloves, honestly just threw us way off and it's a shame because we drove out of the way to go here specifically. One potato would fit 2 of their togo containers! My 1 and 1/3 mini potatoes was over cooked and sticking to the skin. So I got three maybe four bites.
