We got the "u'purp octopus" which contained little to none octopus and just a bunch of grilled veggies and potatoes mainly. Fettuccine pasta, cold and subpar "display" of the pasta wheel. ribeye steak quality is not nearly tender, or good quality. Don't get me started on the poor quality "lobster" risotto. The moment I took a bite of that risotto, I immediately lost my appetite. It has that chlorinated taste/smell and that's all it tasted like, I had a bad taste the whole night. Spent $400 for nonsense so save yaself on the food but go for the drinks, lounge and service!! read more

La Stella maybe needs a few months to work out the kinks. Firstly the overwhelming sewer stench upon entry is awful and did not make a great first impression. We were tempted to leave but it was a special birthday dinner and we were already there. Once in the restaurant it wasn't as noticeable. The restaurant is beautiful and lounge is gorgeous. It really is a stunning space. The staff are pleasant and friendly and we had no issues with service. The food is underwhelming and seriously overpriced. The $68 Caesar salad is a joke. I specifically asked my waiter if there was a smaller simple side salad version and not what was on the menu, he said yes no problem. However the check said otherwise. The croutons could break a tooth easily, too large, too hard and lacking flavor. The food was good but nothing stood out. The waygu filet was ok. The lasagna was tasty. The Japanese A5 was probably the best dish. Not a single dish was so exceptional that would make me crave it or want to go back. The presentation wasn't anything special either. The manager did come by to address my concerns and comped half the price of the salad. While this was nice there are far too many better options in Dallas and Addison for a restaurant to be mediocre. La Stella is all looks and no substance. The location itself needs better lighting and signage. They offer valet at $10 but there is plenty of parking. In comparison many high end steakhouses offer complimentary valet. It was a disappointing experience. There's just something missing or unbalanced. My new favorite restaurant in Dallas--and possibly in the entire country. From the moment we walked into, everything was exceptional. Warm welcome, beautiful decor and stunning dishware. The Cosmo martini was perfection: chilled, beautifully balanced, and served with those tiny ice flakes that only the best bartenders can pull off. The appetizers were outstanding, especially the shrimp. We shared the Australian lobster and the Wagyu filet--both firsts for me--and they were absolutely incredible. I'm convinced I can never have lobster again unless it's from Australia. It was served with candle‑lit butter, which made it even more special. Even though we were way too full for dessert, we had to try the seven‑layer pistachio cake, and it was absolutely amazing. What truly elevated the evening was our waiter, Alex. His service, recommendations, and attention to detail made the night unforgettable. Best part did not feel rushed at all! I can't wait to go back and try the tableside pasta. This is meant to be constructive and not meant to be rude or disrespectful. 5 star prices for 3 star service. La Stella has huge potential but is completely lacking with service. Bartender unable to tell me a favorite dish because they only have had a couple of items on the menu. This automatically tells me he doesn't take his job serious or managers aren't educating the staff properly. The wine list has excellent depth. The wine service is a complete let down. When comparing vintage wines the wine sommelier didn't or doesn't work Sunday. It's the busiest time of the year and they aren't working that day. So we order the 2010 Stone Street Cab. Anyone who knows wine knows a wine that has been aging 15 years automatically gets a decanter to breathe and let the sediment settle. The gentlemen pops the cork loudly, bruising the wine. Pouring a sample and slightly spilling it along the neck of the bottle. He poured a few ounces to the table and never came back to pour more. The ambiance is amazing. From the bar / lounge to the dinning area, everything was well put together. The food was 4-5 stars depending on what you are ordering. Our server was very nice but he didn't seem prepared for the shift. No proper introduction, no walk through of the drink list or food menu. No presentation of the courses. No framing/ setting the table before the course arrives. Steak knives were delivered after our steaks. "Should I bring the desert menu?" Oppose to having it on hand and going through it. We went to La Stella for Valentine's day, actually the day before and it was absolutely incredible! We had an early reservation, enjoyed the bread and very yummy olive oil and had a glass of champagne. We started with the Caesar salad that is typically served table side, but they were so busy that it was brought out, which is fine, just means we'll have to come back for the show! The sommelier was 100% spot on! He was very knowledgeable kind and picked an incredible wine within our budget, so good that we've actually been back for that same one. Then we shared the Spaghetti Alessandra, filet, and scallops, it was the perfect meal where we had enough food but weren't feeling overly full. Oh and also it was the perfect date night vibe, very old Hollywood Italian. Now one of our favorite date night spots and we're looking forward doing a happy hour in their lounge with live music. read more

The service was somewhat good, though at times it felt extremely rushed. Server forgot to box my meal that I barely touched, so I'm assuming it got thrown out? I hope it wasn't given to someone else? Yikes! The wine selection was well curated. Overall, the food was good; the short rib pasta, good but arrived a bit cold. The lobster was significantly overcooked and spongy, but pasta was made well. In contrast, the steak was prepared to a perfect medium rare, and the spinach and mushroom were delicious. The carpaccio appeared to be overpowered by what seemed to be a significantly bright yellow aioli component, and did not look tasty, it was definitely not preferred by our table, though it was still edible. The décor was beautiful and created a lovely atmosphere. We are still undecided about whether we will return due to the rushed atmosphere the restaurant has created for its customers. I am assuming when they start to get the food out in time vs letting the food sit, then the rushed times should become a little better with their timed meals. Kind of strange, But overall most of our food was good. But unfortunately they still have a ton of work to do to get all the kinks out of a new restaurant. Wow, we've found our new favorite Italian spot in Dallas! This place nailed it on every front: great food, awesome atmosphere, and stellar service. The vibe is a cool mix of classy and old-school laid-back, with some seriously good cocktails (The Godfather will be my go-to) and an impressive wine list. Kristin, our server, helped add to an enjoyable evening-- witty, personable and gave us the perfect menu recommendations. We started things off with the Polpette Della Nonna - these meatballs were some of the best - so tender and packed with flavor. Next up: Ravioli Mantovani, filled with butternut squash. Sweet, buttery and DELICIOUS! The Ossobuco Milanese was THE BEST! Perfectly tender with an incredibly rich sauce. Whoever is leading their kitchen definitely does not intend on being second best. Beautiful decor. Food was fine although unremarkable. The live music from the Sophia music room clashed with the music playing in the main dining room creating an odd ambiance. The service was quite slow. While I expect a more relaxed dining experience at a nice restaurant, the service was noticeably inattentive. We waited 15 minutes for a drink from the bar. Our server never came by to clear our plates and the manager had to take them after we finished. It wasn't busy at all either, so I'm unsure why the service was slow like that. read more

Visited for the first time last night. Absolutely beautiful! Decor, furnishings and layout were extremely classy and at least in my opinion, a bit vintage in style. Great attentive bartenders & servers - Must try the Expresso martini, by far the best I ever had. Had dinner at the bar with a live band playing just behind us. Restaurant has plenty of great menu options. We started with splitting the wedge salad and meatballs they were very good then for entrees I had the Branzino and gf had short rib both outstanding. Definitely looking forward to getting back there soon. I have no doubt this new spot is destined to be one of Dallas's best! Kudos to the ownership here!! I showed up because I thought I made a reservation for 5:15 but I must have made a mistake and not made the reservation. We asked for any available table and we were told there are no tables available at all. I looked on open table and it was allowing me to make a reservation for 5:45. When we showed the available 5:45 pm reservation on open table to the hostess, she responded "I just blocked that off and I'm trying to work with you, all I have is a high top table but you have to leave at 7 pm. I will not honor the reservation if you make it now." This felt like racism considering a standard table was available to reserve at that moment. We came for my mom's birthday and we are extremely disappointed with the way we were treated. Unfortunately, this will turn us away from the La Stella locations, including downtown which we have visited multiple times. Hopefully this establishment will hire a hostess with more professional behavior that knows how to work in the hospitality business. read more

This place was pathetic! Upon arrival, we asked for a wine list. Our waiter disappeared for 20-30 minutes before providing wine list. It took longer to get drinks. Our entree's were served before our salad, which consisted of four leaves of romaine. 68 dollars for the salad for two. The entree (fettuccine with mushrooms) was ordered for two. It arrives and they serve it to my wife, at which time another waiter informs the server it was for two. He then takes the plate and divides it in two and serves it again. It was cold. The waiter was surly and rude. We complained to another employee, who had the manager address our situation. His solution? He compted the salad and pasta. He did bill us for two cocktails and two glasses of wine, which we didn't drink. Total was $116.93 .... for 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine. I'm typically easy to please and have never registered any complaints on-line. But this place ruined our evening out. Ended up getting Cane's chicken drive thru. A much more pleasant experience. I understand La Stella is new and working out the kinks, but I recommend going elsewhere until they can treat the clientele decently, particularly recognizing the exorbitant prices coupled with rude service. read more
