This is one of the best italian dishes I have ever eaten! My usual go-to dish is fettuccini alfredo with chicken because it usually can't be screwed up. I wanted to try something different, so I asked the waiter for a suggestion. He said to order the Tortellini alla Panna dish with chicken instead of beef. I am so sorry I forgot his name but I would like to thank him because this is one of the best suggestions I have ever taken. I wanted to be somewhere else, but Downtown Napa was packed for a Sunday. So I went here instead. I'm in American Canyon. The southern part of Napa. It looks very classic and rustic here. I know some people out there are used to doing Bread the French way with butter, and they don't get the concept of dipping Bread in Olive Oil or Balsamic Vinegar. I always like the Italiano way. The Bread was pillowy and the Olive Oil blend is high quality. The first time I had a Lasagna was from the deli at an Elroy's Fine Foods near where I used to live. Lasagna is my favorite Italian dish. And Pesto Lasagna is my all time favorite Italian dish while growing up. This is a Lasagna Di Carne, made out of Angus Beef. I liked how they asked me at the table if I wanted some Parm to go with it. I'm used to having my Lasagna in like a casserole form. This one is individually in a baking contraption, like a Shepherd's pie. I was thinking the filling was going to be bland, but it was flavorful. The texture of the minced Beef reminds me of a Crunchy Taco. I also can't forget about the Torani Italian Lime Soda. I give this 4.1 stars. read more

Celebration is in a week 50-60 people guest. When i called LaStrada i was directed to the manager, Jose. He was very helpful. I was just happy that they can accommodate 50-60 people. I got a call from Martin of LaStrada & helped me even more in setting a perfect courses combination. My party is not until Monday but i just want to express how thankful i am to LaStrada. Amazing Service and Event Space! Our company conducted an all day meeting in February 2024. We wanted to welcome everyone the night before and this location was able to accommodate a group of over 70 people in their private room. Monica was our point person and when I say this woman is a Super Star is an understatement. They even had the forethought to provide a table of extra wine glasses off to the side if needed (which ended up being very needed). This was not asked for in advance. The serving staff was beyond anything we could have expected; extremely fast and professional. The bartender had nonstop customers and was kind, unflustered and flawless. I had not arranged dessert in advance and they not only made the suggestion, but had enough for everyone. They were not aware, but the group they were serving for our organization manages cost structure, so the best part about this, it was reasonably priced on top of everything else! I know we were an overwhelming, demanding and very noisy group. I just truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant and staff. read more

A cozy little red sauce restaurant, hidden away from time and looks like it belongs right in 1970. The clientele is older, but all that means is its easy to get a table at normal dinner time ;) I really like their gnocchi bolognese, but have had many enjoyable meals there. I only give rating of a rating 1 when they are well deserved. A few days ago, my wife and I were in the Napa area and after looking at their Happy Hour Menu and Menu online we decided to go to La Strada for an early dinner. My wife is disable and requires a walker to get around. We were seated in the dinning area and decided to order cocktails from the Happy Hour Menu. The server told us that we had to order from the Happy Hour Menu in the bar area. I told them that my wife has difficulties walking and could please accommodate her from the dinning area. They told us we would have to order from the bar. I told her it was difficult for my wife to walk with her walker, and then return to the dinning area for dinner. They would not budge. My wife had to get up and grab her walker and shuffle over to go the bar area to order have our drinks and then shuffle back to the dining area. I really could not believe their staff would not accommodate someone who was disable. We should have walked out of there but that would have put addition burden on my wife due to her mobility. In reviewing the Happy Hour Menu, there is nothing in writing that states Happy Hour orders are only valid in the bar area. So, "La Strada" in my revenge, you get a rating of One and I wish I could have given you rating of Zero. read more

I think this place might need improvements. The food is alright. We did wait a while to receive our check. I assume the staff is nice, I didn't have too many interactions with them. Food: The carpaccio is okay, needs more flavor. I like the arugula and the accoutrements were better than the actual beef. I ordered the gnocchi with pesto for my entree. Not impressed. I think this might be my first time having gnocchi, I don't have anything to compare it too. But either I don't like gnocchi or I don't like this gnocchi. I thought it to be rather soft than having that bite I expected. The tiramisu and the bread pudding was good. I would recommend getting the bread pudding. Oh and if you're a water snob, DO NOT DRINK THEIR STILL WATER. I warned you. If it wasn't for our hotel recommending this place and receiving a coupon for this restaurant, I don't think I would have landed here. read more

Walking into the restaurant, I really liked the ambience of the place. It isn't super fancy, but not too bad for a restaurant on the side of a highway that's out of the way. The carpet was pretty outdated, dirty, and had a weird smell to it. Like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The front part of the restaurant was very warm, but we were seated in the way back for a birthday party, and it was pretty cold back there. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. To start, we ordered the Mozzarella Caprese. I've had this dish before at other restaurants, so I know it's something I enjoy. I honestly wasn't impressed by what was put down in front of me. Not only did it look like a kid had made it because of how it was thrown together, It was quite bland. It didn't have much flavor to it. First fail of the night. Moving on...for our main course, we had the Gnocchi with an Alfredo sauce and a side of creamy polenta. I absolutely love gnocchi, so I was really looking forward to this, but I didn't have my hopes up after the caprese. The dish smelled good, but the sauce was very watery and not thick like it was supposed to be. The gnocchi weren't the way gnocchi were supposed to be either. They were kind of chewy, and really didn't taste like gnocchi. Could have saved some money by going to the $1.25 store and picking up their gnocchi and making my own gnocchi with Alfredo sauce...If you know, you know. The creamy polenta was so so. Another fail. I decided on no dessert. At this point I didn't want to waste any more money. I had high hopes for this place, but I'm sad to say I was a bit let down. I generally love Italian dishes, but there just wasn't any soul to this food. When I come to a restaurant to eat, I want the food to bring me alive and send me somewhere I have never been before. Make me salivate. Make my taste buds explode! (Can you tell I love food yet?) Unfortunately, this place only made me want to go home. I'm sorry to say it, but they got some work to do. read more

Deplorable treatment at La Strada. My family had a horrible experience at La Strada tonight on Valentine's Day. My son made a point of being home from medical school at UC Davis to have a romantic dinner with his girlfriend. He wanted to show her a nice evening for her continued support during their time apart and let her know that she means everything to him. He chose this special day to propose. When they arrived at La Strada this evening it was first come, first serve. They were seated and waited patiently. Four separate older groups were seated after them and served promptly. There was another younger party seated in the corner that was also served. My son and his girlfriend continued to wait and did not have a server come to take their order while those who were seated later placed their orders. There appeared to be 4 servers on duty. I have never condoned my children to play the race card. However in this instance it may be warranted. My son is Black and his girlfriend Is Latina. He was the only black person there and the only table not be be served, as they were watching each table. The other aforementioned groups seated after them were all white. I told him maybe they thought you wouldn't tip well because of your age, but they stated there was a young white couple seated after them that had their order taken. I tried to find other possible reasons but there was none. They truly felt it was because my son was black. I have never known him to say this before. Since they have both been food servers, they understood this was a busy day but continued to be ignored by the serving staff. They asked to speak with a manager and one of the servers that had ignored them stated he was in charge. They didn't feel validated after bringing up their concerns and asked to speak with someone higher in charge. The first server sent over another server, who had ignored them as well prior to coming to speak with them. They were offered to have their first drinks comp'ed but they weren't drinking anything. They decided to leave. My son is not a thug. He is educated, respectfully, well spoken, and presentable. His girlfriend is likewise. She was the one who told me she felt it was because my son is black. My son was embarrassed, hurt, and no longer felt he could ask her hand in marriage given the way the evening had progressed. He was disheartened to know he could be responsible for caring for the lives of others and yet still not good enough to be served in a restaurant in his home town. I have few words to offer him to change his mind in this matter. I can only hope that going forward people will not invalidate someone based on potential preconceived bias. Shame on La Strada staff for negatively impacting what should have been a romantic evening and marriage proposal for a beautiful couple. read more

Oh wow, worse service In a very long time. Went there hungry, left there hungry. Got there at 5:30, the server asked for our drink choice, then left. Unfortunately she was busy taking care of our friend's bill that came and sat with us that she forgot to take our food order. In the meantime, she took the order of the guy sitting next to us who came in after us. We then had to wait a long time after she served people at the bar before she took our order. The guy next to us got his food but yet we waited and waited. He got his food way before she took our order. Then she said she put our order in at the same time as the guy next to us which we knew was a lie. By the time our food came out we had her box it up. Then waited and waited for the boxes to come out...it takes 2 minutes to box food and then they didn't bring the garlic bread...waiting again. They gave us a 'discount' but in all reality we should have left a long time ago. The crab ravioli and the fettuccine were horrible with no flavor. I actually had to go to the bar to cash out because she never came back for the bill and I was 2 hours hungry at that point. We just got into Napa for a girls trip and were starving. Our hotel desk attendant suggested La Strada. Hands down, some of the best Italian I've ever had. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Friends got the crab ravioli and a vegetarian dish; we split a Caesar salad, and I had capellini pomodoro. The capellini pomodoro was hands down the best I've ever had. Perfection with the tomatoes and garlic and light pasta. I regret I didn't remember our waitresses' name because she was absolutely wonderful , especially with all of our indecisiveness and helped us make our final decision. Not too many places in the area for business guests but happy to find this. It's just off the busy highway so a perfect place to take a break on way back to city. Beet salad was very good! Eggplant Parm was perfect. I really liked and often judge an Italian place by the sauce. My friend had the beef tortellini and everyone at the table kept stealing her food, as it was so flavorful and hinted of a butter cream sauce. Loved our server and quaint interior.
