Decided to bring my Aunt and Uncle out to dinner before they move across the state. This was single handedly one of their favorite restaurants. However, there's a problem that I forgot! I'm vegan! This should be easy, pasta, sauce, bread...they should have tons of options right? Wrong. I forgot that traditionanal Italian pasta app has egg in it. The server here was absolutely amazing, there were no plates that directly catered to us but he was able to check in with the kitchen and pretty much design a plate to cater to our needs. By combining sides and whipping up a few things here and there. This wasn't our ideal situation to be the difficult customer but he made us full at ease and it was absolutely delicious! Service was terrific, the family enjoyed their dinner and we had tons of drinks and vino to enjoy our night together. If I were to make my way back there I will definitely come back just for the respect, the service, and willingness to take care of us the way that this establishment did. Thank you! read more

This was an accidental find a few months back..excellent then and excellent last night..José was our server...a delightful young chap...very good at his job..we split two salads..beet salad and Greek salad..both were very tasty..also tortellini.. The decor of La Strada is pretty dated (especially the questionable paint color in the restroom), but don't let that deter you. If you are craving some Italian food and you are on the way to Napa, La Strada is a stop you should consider for Italian food. I ordered their Rack of Lamb which includes a side of Spinach and Mashed Potatoes. The Rack of Lamb was pretty good as it was well seasoned and cooked medium as requested. The mashed potatoes were gross. I just left that on the plate. The service was pretty good as the waiter and staff were very attentive at our table. read more

WORST. SERVICE. EVER. I'm here from MO and I read the previous reviews so I thought this place would be good. I called my order in and was greeted by a young man laughing (unprofessional and rude) then I asked for spaghetti carbonara AND A SIDE of Alfredo sauce. He repeats my order and says you want spaghetti carbonara and Alfredo pasta. I corrected him and headed the restaurant to pick up my food. I was greeted with a bag of food already wrapped up and left. When I got to my hotel room, I opens the box to find a box of plain noodles and a side of Alfredo sauce. Is that what I asked for?? NO. I proceeded to drive back to get my order corrected. At this point I'm extremely annoyed. I speak with who I assume is the manager, he tells me I got what I ordered. I explained my order again, now for the 3rd time. He brings me out the smallest order of pasta and says he corrected their mistake. Mind you it took him maybe 3 minuets to come back so I'm quite sure he simply tossed the plain noodles I was given initially, in some sauce and handed it back. For $18 I should have a plate FULL of pasta. He states I can take my $$$$$ elsewhere. I quickly advised that's exactly what I would do and would also advise others to Never step foot in his restaurant. Disrespectful, rude, under seasoned and over cooked pasta are just a few ways to describe this restaurant and it's below par food and service. Save your money and head to downtown Napa if you'd like some decent service and food. read more

So the actually food is good but the dessert is horrible . This was covered in so much coco hazelnut power you couldn't even taste the dessert or sauce. My friend had the tiramisu and it wasn't good. My pasta parmagian was delicious. But the dessert suck and are gross. read more

The fresh hot bread with garlic oil & crab ravioli's were sooooo good! The pasta tasted homemade & the crab was fresh & fully stuffed the ravioli. When I only saw 4 on the plate I thought that's it then I barely could finish the last one, they were super filling. Can't wait to come back! Oh yeah our waiter was amazing too! read more

Thought I would splurge for my birthday. $20 for a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. $22 Fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken. $15 Caprese , I wanted the smaller one for $9 but they gave me the bigger order (4pcs). Spaghetti sauce was bland. Meatballs were dry and chewy. Fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken, nothing exciting about it. I would've been better off with Costco's chicken Alfredo. Caprese was fresh. They were not that busy on a Friday night and it took some time for me to check out. No bread either with the pasta meals. Overpriced food ! I will never go back. read more

Great meal, and friendly, attentive service from waiter, Rick and helpers. Establishment has been around for 18 years. Inviting and festive w the current Christmas decor. Lots to choose from menu and even have daily specials worth trying. Meals are delicious and plentiful to where we had to take half home. Even gave extra bread to take home in addition to our leftovers. Definitely a place to come back to and try other meals in the menu. read more

Well, its a classic, old school decor which led me to believe the food would be solid..... I had a crab salad that literally sat on a plate of iceberg lettuce (iceberg... really?? That only belongs on a wedge salad) a bunch of lettuce, crab & huge tomato slices for $21.... seriously?? At least the crab was good. One of our friends had a meal with a bug in it... That is honestly not the end of the world, it happens sometimes BUT...really?? Our waiter was also the bartender...fabulous... friendly, informative but the food is not worth returning for unfortunately . I always want to see old school restaurants last forever but this isn't going to do it .. read more

Went after a quick holiday trip to Six Flags and the group decided they wanted to eat something a bit more adult friendly than park food. The group ordered everything from beef ravioli to calamari steak and a vegetarian house specialty Gnocchi. Service was good even though they were short staffed and the food was excellent. No one in the party drank besides a glass of the house Chianti so I can't comment on the wine selection or beers. We will definitely stop by here again as it is an easy stop off highway 12 to and from Napa from Sac. read more

If I could give a zero I literally would. It's Mother's Day. It was a party of 5. We were sat down and then it took atleast 15 mins to finally get our order in. Then, 35 mins later my boyfriend & I's dinner came out before our children & my mils food. To be nice we waited for the rest and our kids came but not my mil. Like 10 minutes into them eating, my daughter said there was a hair in her food. So my mil who was sitting next to her got it out and it was a long blonde hair inside of the chicken. Meanwhile my mil food still wasn't out but the rest of us 4's were. We had the beet salad as an app, and the waitress leaned over our plate and almost got her tie in it. We then waited almost 20 to 30 minutes longer after we weren't even eating anymore for the manager to come. He did not make us pay for the beet salad at least & then proceeded to say the next time you come there will be clean chicken like why wasn't there clean chicken the first time we come?? That is sad, and disgusting and ruined our evening we had to go get fast food!!!!!!!! Do NOT eat here save yourself the time! read more

We're frequent patrons of La Strada's original location in San Pablo, but this was only our second time at the American Canyon branch, and our first in many years. Decoratively, I prefer American Canyon: rather dark, but with warm golden lighting, and leaning heavily on earth tones, with lots of exposed brick. Separate bar area, with no patrons, and no bartender in evidence; just being used as a service bar at the time of our visit, though presumably busier at appropriate hours. Unobtrusive vocal jazz background music. Only one other table was occupied when we checked in at noon on a Friday, but a few more parties drifted in over the next hour and a half. We were seated immediately, and given two kinds of warm bread with herbed oil. The menu is similar if not identical to San Pablo's; Italian classics, well-executed. We started with a beet salad (big beet chunks with red onions, feta, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and walnuts, in balsamic dressing) and a house salad (iceberg, spinach, carrots, and miscellaneous veggies). Entrees: a big portion of seafood linguini (a daily special; pretty much everything aquatic short of the Loch Ness Monster in a mild tomato sauce) and veal scaloppini (with zucchini, carrots, and La Strada's signature creamy polenta). We didn't indulge in dessert, having plans for later that afternoon farther up the Valley. Mid-range wine list: bottles at $25-$54; most available by the glass at $7-$12. Located on Highway 29, next to the Napa-Vallejo Flea Market (whose patronage probably has little overlap with La Strada's). Large private parking lot. Public transportation is not a practical option. read more

We really wanted to like this place. Our hotel recommended it and Yelp had 4 stars so I thought it was be good. The calamari tasted like it was frozen then heated up, the salmon piccata special was way too lemony and the chicken Alfredo tasted like oil and bland. They left the skin on the chicken so it tasted fatty. Olive Garden is a hundred times better. The food was definitely not worth the $100. read more

Our experience at La Strada was outstanding. We loved the restaurant environment, friendly vibe, delicious food, and awesome customer service. Our server Rick was great. We went with Hai recommendation of beef ravioli with Italian sausage and it was delicious. If you are in Napa this place is a must. Even on Sunday they were busy . I am glad I called to make a reservation for dinner. They have a private parking lot . Restaurant is cozy but they have room to fit large parties. I would recommend this place to friends and family. read more

How does a little Italian restaurant, pretty much in the middle of nowhere, serve such great food? Excellent food, price, and ambiance! Doesn't get much better than this! My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed every time we've been here. A little known secret is, in March and October they seem to have this amazing Steak and Lobster deal. Cannot be beaten. Worth the drive from anywhere. Our server Rick, obviously a seasoned server who carries himself like he owns the place ( anyone who knows Macho Rick, knows what I'm talking about) did his best to soften his machismo attitude around my young girls. I guess when you have 23+ years working here you're allowed to have a little attitude! Good going, Rick... Came here because a friend insisted. It was just ok. Had the gnocchi with pesto and wasn't "wow'd." I would rather try another place up in Napa or Yountville. Yeah, you have trek another 15-20 minutes, but I'd rather enjoy my meal than just leave there feeling "meh." If you're staying in American Canyon, please, make a trip up North. read more

My family had a horrible experience at La Strada tonight on Valentine's Day. My son made a point of being home from medical school at UC Davis to have a romantic dinner with his girlfriend. He wanted to show her a nice evening for her continued support during their time apart and let her know that she means everything to him. He chose this special day to propose. When they arrived at La Strada this evening it was first come, first serve. They were seated and waited patiently. Four separate older groups were seated after them and served promptly. There was another younger party seated in the corner that was also served. My son and his girlfriend continued to wait and did not have a server come to take their order while those who were seated later placed their orders. There appeared to be 4 servers on duty. I have never condoned my children to play the race card. However in this instance it may be warranted. My son is Black and his girlfriend Is Latina. He was the only black person there and the only table not be be served, as they were watching each table. The other aforementioned groups seated after them were all white. I told him maybe they thought you wouldn't tip well because of your age, but they stated there was a young white couple seated after them that had their order taken. I tried to find other possible reasons but there was none. They truly felt it was because my son was black. I have never known him to say this before. Since they have both been food servers, they understood this was a busy day but continued to be ignored by the serving staff. They asked to speak with a manager and one of the servers that had ignored them stated he was in charge. They didn't feel validated after bringing up their concerns and asked to speak with someone higher in charge. The first server sent over another server, who had ignored them as well prior to coming to speak with them. They were offered to have their first drinks comp'ed but they weren't drinking anything. They decided to leave. My son is not a thug. He is educated, respectfully, well spoken, and presentable. His girlfriend is likewise. She was the one who told me she felt it was because my son is black. My son was embarrassed, hurt, and no longer felt he could ask her hand in marriage given the way the evening had progressed. He was disheartened to know he could be responsible for caring for the lives of others and yet still not good enough to be served in a restaurant in his home town. I have few words to offer him to change his mind in this matter. I can only hope that going forward people will not invalidate someone based on potential preconceived bias. Shame on La Strada staff for negatively impacting what should have been a romantic evening and wedding proposal for a beautiful couple. read more

They skipped us when taking the food order (literally watched them take the food order of the other guests at our table and simply walk away without taking ours, and every time they passed by still wouldn't acknowledge us as they were clearly slammed and trying to deal with the massive crowd. While we waited at the bar after almost 2 hours of not being able to get a drink, we overheard multiple staff members voice how frustrated and overwhelmed they were. It's a shame because the menu looked good and the other guests were nice and the staff were cordial. I'm sure on a slow day it's great, but we ended up having to leave and go to Olive Garden because our elderly guest's blood sugar was beginning to drop and no one was trying to take her food order.

On 5/30/25 at 1:10 P.M, I called La Strada American Canyon and Adriano answered my call and I made a reservation for a Birthday Party of 7 for 4:00 P.M. for 6/15/2025, at the small banquet room by the bar. I also told them that I had a 95 year old person in a wheelchair and I wanted to be separate and it was also Father's Day. On 6/12/2025, at 10:59 A.M., I confirmed with Andy for the reservation for the small banqet room by the bar. Everything was set and confirmed. Today, 6/15/2025, I arrived with my party at 3:50 P.M. to be given a table at the bar but not at the small banquet room that I requested. Chloe and Eve said they couldn't accomodate me because that room was reserved for VIPs at 5 o'clock. and guess she thought I wasn't an important person. I asked to see Adriano but he was too busy so the daughter Monica came out but still nothing but "you are making a scene and my employee is 15 years old" and "you shouldn't make a reservation with my Dad". Umm....Adriano answered the phone and said everything was a go. I also confirmed it on 6/12/25 with a guy but it wasn't Adriano. I replied, then maybe you all should do your job and answer the phones! It is sad because Monica should have just let us have the small private banquet room by the bar since we were already there and reserved and confirmed for it. The "VIPS" (who didn't look any more VIP than me) came and hour later and they could have put them where we were seated when they arrived at 5:00 P.M. Bad customer service all around! Came in on Tuesday night sat at the bar with some friends. The bartender was very fast, and good at making our drinks. You can tell he knew how to make any drink you asked for. The bartender on Tuesday night was young, very tall, and very good looking so it was a nice change from the older bartender that works on Fridays. For entrées, we had the veal parm, lemon ravioli, and pesto pasta dish, all of which were outstanding. We finished with some of the best tiramisu we've ever had. Be prepared: you'll leave full, happy, and convinced you just had one of the best meals Napa has to offer!
