Had a family celebration and choosing this restaurant was the killer of the night. Terrible service with disregard to customer food requests, when the main course came to the table the Chilean Sea Bass was still frozen in the center. My wife's Mahi filet was also raw, with this there was no consideration for a resolution, a rude waitress who claimed to be the owner stated " it's happens it's no big deal". As a business owner I strive to give the best customer service to my clients. I had eaten here many times over the last 6 years since moving to the area and this will be the last and never will I recommend this establishment to clients and customers coming to Saint Augustine to vacation. read more

Good service with a cozy setting, but expect long wait times on food (which I can understand in this post pandemic staffing crisis) for pretty good food that you will overpay for. My wife and I got a couple entrees and a side of garlic bread and walked out with a $70 bill. read more

Had family visiting and we decided to try La Strada Italian Restaurant this evening and had a great experience. We had a bottle of Carmenet Cabernet Sauvignon (A CA wine). My wife ordered the chicken Sorrento and the rest of us had veal parmigiana. The meal was excellent. We shared a tiramisu which was great The restaurant was clean. The bathroom was in great shape ( the hot water was hot just like it should be). The staff was there when needed just a great experience - so they received five stars. This was our first visit to LaStrada we will be back. read more

I definitely recommend! Just finished my meal and I can say that the food was delicious, very soothing and home-like. Patty (our waitress extraordinaire) was the perfect compliment to the delicious food! Although she was the only one waiting the tables, she was fabulous. Very sweet, genuinely interested in the customers, and a great multi-tasker. To those looking for super fast meal, non family oriented or the kind where you just eat and run- this is probably not your place. For those willing to spend some time talking with those you came to dinner with (just think to talk instead of staring at a phone?!?)- try this place. We loved it. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant last Saturday while on five day holiday in St.Augustine. We checked how busy it was and realized it was light so decided to stop in. Initially the waitress that greeted us did not seem pleased we had not made a reservation. It felt awkward and we wondered if we should stay. She seated us, however and we proceeded to order sand receive some of the most amazing food ever. The eggplant appetizer with baratta cheese floored us with it's richness and tender texture in perfectly prepared red sauce. The wild mushroom ravioli with the hint of a balsamic glaze sweetness was memorable. The perfectly roasted lamb was worth the wait and melted with tenderness and succulent flavor. It left us watching every plate that went by wondering if they made everything as perfectly as our entrees and wishing we had another day to come back and see what else they had perfected. Our waitress became gracious and the service was lovely. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere is perfect, quaint and very pleasant. What a jewel to stumble upon. Arrived here to find a full restaurant except for one table waiting for us. The waitstaff advised us that the kitchen was slow tonight because they were short on kitchen help - but we decided to wait and were very glad we did! The garlic bread with cheese was a great starter, followed by the LaStrada salad (yum) and the special shrimp and crab ravioli in a creamy roasted pepper sauce (double yum!) We were very happy that they were honest about the longer-than-normal wait for food so we were prepared to wait and enjoy our meal. Can't wait to stop back here again :-) read more

Excellent Italian made from scratch. Never a disappointment! Quaint, small Italian restaurant. A dining experience, not rushed in and out.

Pros: Lovely setting & decor with a pleasing outdoor patio. Friendly staff with decent prices. Large menu with a lot of variety. Cons: Food was just average. Understaffing resulting in a long (60 minute) wait for our food. Staff did not wear masks and the customers were all seated next to each other on one side of the dining room with none on the other side. read more

Just walked out of this restaurant after only having appetizers. The owner could be heard in the kitchen screaming at the staff, calling them incompetent, yelling profanities and saying, "Look how you made me". Final straw was when my 12 year old said, "He just said the F-word" When told we were leaving we heard him say "I don't care" We were the third table to walk out apologizing to the wait staff. First I would like to say that this place is in a sketchy area. I went out with a group of 5. Wanted to split payment and because we were splitting a check, it was 3.95 each person. Luckily we didn't have a 6th because then it's automatically 18% gratuity and it wouldn't have been deserved. Food took a while to come out, waitress barely came by to check on us. We stated that one dish wasn't liked, and there was no alternate for that - almost a $20 plate wasted. I luckily enjoyed my portion of the food but it was a lot to eat and we got there at 8PM, didn't get our food till a little after 9PM. The guy waiter that seated us gave us some attitude when we were asking about being seated because we weren't greeted at the door. I can understand if you're busy and all, so I would've appreciated if you stated to wait a second. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place as first choice just for timeliness and customer service. read more

This was the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time! We made a reservation for my mom bday and showed up. All excited and when we got there we were seated and rushed with what to drink right away.... we didn't know what wine to get because we just sat down. So or waitress left and didn't come back. Then asked for bread and olive oil and that wasn't available on the table you have to order it on the side. Doesn't automatically come like most Italian places do. The bread was brought out completely burnt on top and bottom you could see the black. We have it back and asked for a new one. This taking them another 10 min. Finally after almost 30 min of waiting we got our drinks. And she never brought out the kids drink or a kids menu. She ignored us for 45 min. Finally she asked what we wanted and we simply said....the check. No food. We wanted out. She was rude, inconsiderate and argumentative. Not a way to treat your 5 customers! Ever! My friend and I ate their yesterday Thursday the 8th. The waitress was very honest up front letting us know that she was the only one working the whole restaurant. We totally understood because this seems very common at this time in the United States. So we sat down and took our time looking over the menu. We ended up getting a caprese salad and an order of garlic bread with sauce as an appetizer. Oh my gosh! We should have stopped there. It was so fresh, so well made and tasted excellent. After that we both had a delicious salad and we had both ordered lasagna. It was well worth the short wait. The food was excellent iand the staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good (not great), but the service was awful. Over 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. We were all out of drinks but our server was no where to be found. We were a party of six and i understand gratuity was added, but our server actually filled out our credit receipt herself. I placed a to go order when or meal was delivered but it didn't arrive until half an hour after we received our bill. We will not be visiting there again! Awful service! !! read more

went here for dinner when I stayed in St. Augustine for the night. first impressions the outside of the building was small and not inviting but walk inside and it felt like an authentic Italian restaurant. the waiter had a wonderful accent and spoke fondly of the menu and knew a lot about the wine menu which I was impressed with. we were tempted with a bottle of wine right away and that threw us off at first. we did however had 2 nice glasses of wine. it was busy with an older crowd but that seemed to be the majority of older locals but they meant well and didn't bother us. the food we ordered was very yummy and it was a healthy amount of food as well curtsey of the Italians and their large portions. My parents and I had an amazing experience at this establishment! Our waitress Cindy was great. THE FOOD- sooooo good!! We started with garlic bread and marinara sauce...perfect start. My parents had salad and I had the most delicious lobster bisque. Our entrees were spaghetti with meat balls, spaghetti with sausage and tortelloni with prosciutto and mushrooms in a vodka sauce! Top Italian destination in St. Augustine. Great selection of wines. We had the stuff mushrooms with crab followed by a fresh salad, warm home made bread with a tomato roasted garlic and peppers in what i affectionally refer to as a real Italian salsa. The entrees were Sicilian sausage with fettuccine and the other was a fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp both done perfectly. Best Italian sausage I have ever had. Anyone giving this place less than 4 stars are paletteless sheep! Everything was magnificent, from the nightly specials to the lasagna! The sauces are homemade and delicate. I had heard many complaints about this place but against my better judgement I went with a friend. There were ONLY three tables with people so it was NOT busy. We ordered our dinners at 5:00pm. It took over an hour to get our food and the food was cold when they finally arrived. While we were waiting we asked the one waiter about how long it would take. He got cocky with us and said very rudely that the cook makes everything from scratch...A LIE...and that the food would come out when it was ready and we would have to wait until then. The risotto was NOT made fresh as it was cold and hard. Risotto, when made properly, is creamy and smooth and of course WARM not cold. The brown gravy was not only cold but tasted like it came from a can. When the only waitress there came to our table finally after a half hour, my friend and I told her what the waiter said and how rude he was. She She are sure and at this point we had had it, so I said no, I'm lying to you. She was on the verge of rudeness and her smile was so fake, she let us know she didn't care for us. We will never go back there again as we work hard for our money and this place doesn't deserve it. Other people we know who have gone there say they can't keep help and the owner is rude. I also am a professional chef and owned a restaurant for years. I was not impressed with the help or food and no not everything is made from scratch. They tell you this because the owner cannot keep help and he is alone in the kitchen.... read more
