Only had 2 servers with no bartender doesn't make for a pleasant guest experience. We've lived in this area for almost 5 years now and I'm so sad to say that it took 4.5 years to find this place. I lived in Mexico for about 4 years in my 20s and this place is the most authentic tasting Mex food restaurant here. The salsa has that flavor that only comes from the real deal. Everything I've had there has been amazing. I took off one star because I'm pretty sure some of the soup is from a can and the burritos are inconsistent in size and flavor. I ate "light" and impressed Ahtziry with my selection (she is a phenomenal server and very nice). I ordered the Chile Rellenos plate and Jamaica agua fresca. Mexican rice on point very flavorful, beans and cheese great, and Chile Rellenos was very good too. Only negative is it's really oily, but what's Mexican food that's not. Also came with a complimentary side of tortilla chips, salsa, red sauce, and salsa verde. The Jamaica agua Fresca was more on the sweet side, but perfect for me. Big portion sizes including drinks. read more

She came back a min later and says "just so you know the menu isn't right the price of the menudo is 11.95 I don't know if you want to pay that do you still want the menudo?" I said yes my boyfriend said no he ordered something else. So we get our food and let me tell you, the MENUDO had NO FLAVOR it was WATERED DOWN! so I was telling my boyfriend to try it because it tasted terrible even after I tried fixing it with lime. So the first bite I scoop for him had a HAIR IN IT! so I called the waitress over and quietly told her there was a hair. Her response was "I don't know if you have tried menudo before but sometimes they're not able to get all the hair off" EHEMM EXCUSE ME. I am Mexican I just LOOK white so correction I've tried plenty menudo and I never seen a human hair in my menudo! She didn't even take a look at it before saying that either! She just wanted me to brush it off and eat it like a dummy! So I PULLED IT OUT (EW DISGUSTING it was tangled in the meat) and she says "oh yeah that's a hair" like hello dummy that's what I was telling you!! So me being the nice calm person I am tried to order something else off the menu instead , giving them ANOTHER chance but after she walked away I realized why am I even still sitting here in this restaurant with a RUDE waitress and nasty HAIRY food. WORST MENUDO EVER. So my boyfriend and I calmly walk out and leave the UNTOUCHED plates at the table. Mind you this all happens in a matter of a couple mins. She proceeds to shout out to us and flag us down at the door. She said "so you're not going to pay for your food. I can't serve that to someone else now, what about his plate it was perfectly fine. You guys didn't want to pay for anything from the moment you got here!" And continues yelling at us. Oh I'm sorry are you ASSUMING WE DIDNT WANT TO PAY FOR ANYTHING because we changed our drinks to waters? We actually normally always drink waters with our meals. And you decide to raise the prices and charge us different prices than that are on the menu?! So we yell back at her with the same rude yelling voice she was using to tell her that we ARE NOT PAYING FOR a plate that has hair! I have came across hair in my food before at other restaurants and it never ended with me leaving. But the way this lady handled the situation was TERRIBLE. Trying to dumb me down by assuming I've never tried MENUDO before... I'm going to let everyone in my family and friend group to stay FAR away from this place!! Buffet lunch experience: service was slow and food presentation wasnt great but tasted fine There was only one server and she was too busy taking care of all tables. You may not need that much service when it's a self serve buffet but still, we practically sat ourselves down and grabbed our own menus. Buffet didnt look great but seemed like the quickest lunch option plus it was about the same price as any entree. It had ribs, pork tacos, pozole, pork in green sauce, rice and beans, enchiladas and flan, rice pudding, jello and fruit for dessert. Selections were not bad for $8.95pp. I enjoyed the pozole the best and everything else was meh. The flan you can tell it's boxed and the rice pudding was just not edible. The food? Pretty damn good. I'm not an expert on Mexican food but I love a good burrito or enchilada. I ordered the combo plate of enchilada and tamal, my roommate the carne asada burrito. I couldn't tell which was which as it was smothered in red sauce, but it still hit the spot after a day of dancing and walking around. The service is an entirely different story. I'm writing this as my roommate and I have been sitting at the table for 20 minutes after finishing our food and the waitress has barely looked at us, because apparently being on your phone and flirting with the male patrons at the bar is more interesting than actually acknowledging the other people in the restaurant. Ive always liked the food but this last time i ordered online and i guess they use Postmates, anyway i didnt see any option to adjust my order or to request no ice in my drink and for pico de gallo salsa. I get there within 10 minutes and my order is sitti g at a table already. I mentioned the issue and the waitress told me there was a place to write in comments but i didnt see it. She obviously got upset that i asked for an iceless drink Instead of giving me a new pour she pours the watery soda into another glass instead. When i asked for pico de gallo she huffs about how it is not standard issue. Some to find out that they added it to the credit card after my order. Original charge of $13.25 ended up as $14.80 after the bait n switch. Two servers with no one in the restaurant but still acting bothered to satisfy my request. What a bad visit. After seeing so many sponsored ads on Instagram and reading so many positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try on a Sunday for a late breakfast. The server Sierra greeted us at the door and immediately sat us down in a spacious booth. She recommended we try their "chamuca" drink with is a blended mango margarita topped with a coronita. The drink was pretty good and had the right amount of alcohol for my tasting. Everyone in my party enjoyed everything they ordered. The highlights were definitely the menudo and the super spicy chilaquiles, just the way I like them. Our experience was amazing as our server Sierra was so attentive and friendly, and was down to strike up a conversation with us. The waitress was not familiar with the menu or taco Tuesday items at all so was not help when we asked for recommendations. Secondly, when our food arrived, it was below average and nothing I would crave to have again. I had the enchiladas and hard taco and my husband had the carne asada wet burrito. Both entrees lacked flavor. And lastly, when we received bill we noticed pricing was much higher. The menu has a small note stating 'pricing has changed'. Not ONCE was this mentioned by our server!! This was a spot my family and I really liked going to on occasional Sundays for Pozole. This past Sunday was my birthday and I decided to go there for breakfast. We all ordered Pozole and 10 min later the waiter comes back and says they ran out but the do have enough for 1 bowl, so we ordered it. Another 10 min goes by and a waitress comes by telling us she's sorry but she gave by Pozole to someone else! At this point I'm livid!!!! The waitress then asks if I want to order something else so I do but I do say that my family's food is here getting cold and I still have to wait for mins to be done so we could all eat together. We then get out bill and you would think they would compensate something for all the hassle they put us threw and they didn't, so no tip was left and we will not be returning ever again!!!! read more

A hidden gem. Great spot to enjoy a homemade meal, they have from carne asada to the best seafood plates for a very good price. very attentive service and loved the fact the bar is fully stocked.
