No worries, let them know & you won't find them in your soup. Not a fan of cilantro? Let them know ahead of time & they'll do their best to help you avoid it (be forewarned, some items may already have them in the sauce or stock, unfortunately you can't expect them to make a fresh batch just for you). We tried this place for the second time, but we won't be returning back. The beans and rice are very high on sodium. The menudo needs to be cleaned much better. It's got a terrible taste and also too much sodium. The chicken pozole was not fresh. Two people in my party tasted the pozole and didn't eat the rest. Don't recommend this place to anyone. This place exceeded my expectations. The first thing my boyfriend and I tried were the chips and salsa; chips were fresh and salsas (one chunky, one blended) were flavorful and spicy but not too spicy. We KNEW the food was going to be great. We ordered the loaded carne asada fries, beef flautas, albondiga soup, and margaritas. The food portions were huge and everything was absolutely delicious. The margaritas were tasty too, I just wish there was a bit more blended ice, but not a big deal. I really like this place! I met here with some girlfriends had very good endless tortilla chips and delicious salsa and pico de gallo. I had a huge glass of horchata, a simple combo plate with the cheese enchilada and taco... all excellent! My friends took advantage of the buffet and loved the variety there. I loved my food I ordered the octopus and shrimp's and a dinner salad. I wanted something light and I've been watching my weight. I also ordered a couple of watermelon margaritas 15 oz, a small size that they have, which is not exactly diet friendly but yummy and delicious and a hot 90° day. They have eating outside. I recommend not taking the last table as a bee came up to enjoy my watermelon margarita. The last table is by trees. Eat in the front if all the tables are taken, they have a front patio there....Wait staff is friendly. Food delicious as always. PS the bee was even friendly and never stung me. Went back again to La Villa restaurant and all I have to say is that everything was delicious, the salsa like oh my God so much flavored to it they put on the table like three salsas and they're all were delicious. The cheap also very crunchy and warm and I ate a Menudo was really delicious the flavor the meat etc and not to mention the coffee or actually El Café de Olla yummy. as always thank you La Villa for your great service and delicious food. read more

While I was staying in town I ordered delivery. It had a badge recognizing it as being a good restaurant. So I never got to see in person what the place looked like. Therefore I cannot speak on that part. However the food was great. The only downside was it could have been warmer. I ended up warming mine up a bit. Sometimes that's a issue with having food delivered. Now if it was cold then I'd give this place a lower rating and report it to the delivery service. Everything had good flavor and nothing was over the top. I got the two cheese enchilada combination that comes with rice and beans and a choice of soup or salad. I got the soup. The chunky soup was good. The chicken was in a generous portions and there were large chopped veggies throughout. The broth was light and was probably a chicken stock. Prices were reasonable. I certainly enjoyed it and would order from them again. Oh and the fountain drink actually tasted like the actual soda I ordered. Authentic Mexican food! It's taste so good. The first time my boyfriend and I came, we ordered the Margarita flight. They didn't have the tamarindo one at the time. The second time, I got some enchiladas and my boyfriend got birria. Both were super delicious. The service was excellent too. We also got drinks, also very delicious. I have ordered from this location on couple separate occasions for work luncheons and have been very satisfied with the dishes. I had a combination that included chile rellenos, tamales and enchilladas. I wasn't expecting much from the tamale because alot of these combos from other places tend to have dry tamales, but this place had a very tasty tamale that was not dry and complimented the enchilada and relleno which were equally just as good. Though I should have read my options carefully, a picture with a carne asada cut was placed as the food picture, but carne asada was only optionally under "extra". My co-workers were planning to do a pick-up order the following week, so I figured I'll to a taste run before they order! So, parking is limited here. About 5 spots on the west side of the building, and another handful in the back. Street parking looked very limited too. Walked in around 9PM and the server invited me to have a seat anywhere. In a couple minutes I was served chips with chips and salsa. There was only 1 server that I can see, and there were only 2 other parties. I ordered the carnitas plate, which served with rice and beans. The lettuce/salad was servered on top of warm food, which kind of cooked/softened what should have been crispy lettuce. There was chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro on top of the carnitas, which I found weird. I never had carnitas topped with it, and really didn't care for it. It definitely was a lot of food. I struggled to finish it, and gave in for a box. Service was a bit slow, especially for only 3 parties. The server wasn't very present, and when I wanted more water, I had to wait for a bit. Stopped in for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was fantastic. My husband had a major craving for red pozole, but only the green was available. He was pretty bummed out, because red is his favorite. I suggest you always have the red available early morning, as it is a breakfast staple. He opted for the caldo de camarones instead. I had the jamon con huevo with beans and potatoes. The beans were some of the best in OC. The potatoes were also a nice touch. The corn tortillas are hand made!!!!! Fantastic tortillas. I want to come back for dinner next time, so I can enjoy the bar and try the steak milanesa. It's so hard to find restaurants that serve steak milanesa, especially with potatoes! Wow what a good lunch buffet with hefty pork ribs and tasty tacos, cheese encheladas, salad, mexican deserts and more. Rarely do I see a worthwhile mexican buffet, but here is one. Chips with tasty salsa were included. I came a second time in a week and it was the same good standard, and the server is pleasant.
