I had a fantastic weekend in TX and visited some excellent restaurants. My last stop on the way to the airport was LAC Bleu Brunch Cafe. I was extremely excited. The wait was about 30 minutes. While waiting, we had a cup of coffee at a quaint little coffee and wine cafe steps away. The coffee was terrific. I digress. Once text, our table was ready!! We were good and hungry before heading to the airport. After that, it all went downhill. I ordered Atlantic Benedict; one of my favorite breakfasts is Eggs Benedict. I was with my sisters. The coffee was good. When we received our food, it was cold!! You can see the pictures attached. The only hot thing was the fried pickles (BTY thumbs down). The meal was not good at all. So much so that I talked to the manager. The manager explained they were understaffed and the kitchen was struggling. I suggested she slow down on reservations and accommodate her paying customers with good food. She made it right by reducing the bill. It was nice but Lac Bleu needs to do better. This was my final impression of the TX food before I got on my flight headed back to DC. I think the waitress was new but I left her a good tip. read more

I was really excited to try this place since I'm new to the area and wanted to maybe find my new go-to brunch spot but I was disappointed. I ordered the veggie hash with a croissant on the side and I've never seen a veggie hash look so sad. It wasn't the usual hash that is vibrant in color from your veggies. My croissant also was flat and squished, not to mention it was very dry. I had to drown my meal in hot sauce to enjoy it and even then didn't finish jt. The establishment was busy, but it took us 20 minutes to even get water. The next time the server offered to refill our drinks was after she brought the tab out. She was sweet and meant well but it definitely wasn't 5 star service. I'd recommend trying literally any other breakfast/brunch establishment. read more

Save your money. I had high hopes for this brunch spot. During our first visit, we waited 45 minutes for food. My latte was overly-sweet and eggs benedict were a mess. We ordered toast, which didn't come until we were finished eating. When it arrived, it was dry. I left disappointed, but gave them the benefit of the doubt since our visit was a few days after opening. I thought the food and service would improve within a couple of months, but during our visit over the weekend, it somehow got worse. This weekend, I ordered biscuits and gravy. I couldn't believe the plate when I saw it. Dry biscuits with a small dab of gravy. The gravy tasted like it came from a box (just add water). My plate came with a side of overeasy eggs and an unwanted egg shell sitting on top. I had to request more gravy on the side. When we were handed the bill, I felt angry. It was too expensive for something worse that what I would've made at home. Both times we've dined here, we leave disappointed and it feels like a giant waste of money. There's nothing french about this brunch restaurant and nothing good about their food. The atmosphere is adorable, but that's about it. I wish new ownership would come in and actually serve up something worth our time and money. Additionally, we came as a large group, and a service tip was already included on the check. Our server failed to let us know. I take responsibility for not double-checking, but when they ran our card themselves on a portable device, they asked for a service tip (which was already included). We ended up double-tipping and feeling duped. A basic, dry breakfast ended up costing more than $70 for two. (The rest of our party was on a separate tab). I really wanted to like it. We've been waiting for a brunch place to open in the area and I was really hoping this would be our new brunch place. We have now been twice and both times it was just not good. Today I even went with something really simple, two eggs over easy with sausage and bacon. Ordered the Classic Benedict, the Savory Florentine Crepes, and orange juice (I shared meal with fam).
