I finally made it to Lacquered!! Our friendly chicken-everything neighborhood restaurant / takeout place. Didn't know what to order, so I asked Scott "I made curry and would like to have some chicken katsu." He started to tell me what he can do and I went with his flow, got some fries, beet pickles and for dessert mint chocolate fudge too. I also received two different sauces! This place is so homey, like you're in Scott's kitchen enjoying the food he makes. I love, love, love this place! Will be back soon! BTW.... The chicken is scrumptious and the fries made with real potatoes and the beets are pickled to excellence. There's a kick behind your mouth when you swallow it. Masterful!!

Food is amazing and the host are super friendly to get to know. I have been to this location 3-4 times, but the food always amazing.

Best Fried Chicken in Long Beach, hands down. Actually, possibly the best fried chicken of all time and I've had fried chicken all over the country. The chicken is already delicious on its own but when you pair it with any of their homemade sauce options, it's just simply perfection. It's even good in a sandwich. The sides here are delicious too. My favorite is the garlic noodles but don't sleep on their fries or peanut slaw. Not in the mood for fried chicken? No problem! They have other protein options too. I had their keto bowl with pork belly on my first visit and would definitely order again. It's a small space so plan on getting takeout but if you do see an empty table, grab it and enjoy the cool ambiance and great service from Diana and Scott. They're both amazing "pawrents" to their Husky/Shepherd mix named Butter and Chef Diana makes homemade dog treats in his honor! Our fur baby Frank is a huge fan of all their treats and is currently enjoying the chicken hearts. If you're in the mood for homemade food for you and your dog, then stop by Lacquered right now!

The chef/owner is super nice. Always giving recommendations. I rarely see this place open but when I do I'm rushing to the door. It takes 15 mins for them to prepare the food. He always gives me little sample of sauces to try. The place is tiny. Just 2 tables to eat inside. He plays country music on the speakers. I love their fried chicken. It's juicy in the inside and crispy on the outside. I love the garlic sauce. The pork belly bowl has that nice bite texture to it. The rice itself is alright but once you add the sauce it makes a different. The garlic nood-rittos burrito wasn't my favorite because it just was too much noodle and heavy to eat. But I love always coming to this place. Next time i want to try the salmon rice bowl.

I'm sorry but... Mediocre at best :( Leaving a 4 star because I don't want to hurt their rating, maybe it was an off night. Big portions, order was exactly what we ordered. But honestly nothing was even close to great. Tenders and fries were decent. Chicken sando (2nd heat level) was very whatever. Sloppy, two huge tenders with overdressed salad and pickled jalapeños between the buns. Noodles were decent. Ceasar was drenched in dressing and we threw it out after a few bites :(

The service is extremely slow. There's maybe 2 people working here at most. It has the feel of a small business in a big urban city. The people are friendly and there's a large variety of food. The chicken is delicious however it's very greasy food. You'll need a nap afterwards. Prepare to spend time waiting and spend just as much money for your food.

Sweet lady with the pretty name, you made my night. I'm the Kiddo who came in late around 9 or 10. My kid had a bad day at school, and a bad day at work. He came home and made dinner, which then promptly fell on the floor. His shoulders just slumped. I said, let me get you some Dave's (He loves DHC). I was also tired from a very long day at work, but drove there after pre-ordering. As soon as I walked in, there's this huge smile at the counter asking what can she do for me. I told her my kid placed an order. She found it and asked would I like any sauce and I said, I don't know. It's for my kid and she said, "I got you!" And proceeded to load me up with sauces she knew my kid would like as we chatted. She seemed to know I had a rough day and was as genuinely kind as she could be, and I'm sure she had been working all day as well and yet, she lit up the store. She was an all star but very under staffed at the counter. She was doing what she could, but literally 7-10 ppl at counter waiting at a time isn't a good look. I was left so unsatisfied I submitted my feedback and answered with credit for an opportunity to try again. So I appreciate that. Although I'm hesitant, and I have to be honest, that meal was not good, one of the worst meals I've had in recent memory due taste ... I will give them another shot however. I recently stopped by and was honestly impressed, especially with the portion sizes and flavor. I ordered the two-tender combo, and right away I noticed these weren't your average tenders--they were jumbo. Thick, crispy, and cooked just right. The outside had that perfect crunch while the inside stayed juicy and tender. You also get to pick your heat level, which is clutch whether you like it mild or want that real Nashville kick. The combo came with Texas toast, pickles, and their signature comeback sauce. The Texas toast was buttery and soft, perfect for balancing out the spice. The pickles added that tangy bite that cuts through the richness of the chicken, and the comeback sauce tied everything together--it's creamy, slightly tangy, and honestly addicting. I also ordered the Cluckin' fries, which come loaded with their comeback sauce and your choice of heat on the chicken. These were a whole meal on their own. Crispy fries topped with flavorful chicken and sauce--it's messy in the best way possible. I gave their mac & cheese a try too--it was okay, not bad, but definitely not the standout compared to everything else. Stick to the chicken and fries and you'll be happy. Pro tip: let your friends order extra pickles... you're gonna want more once you start eating. Overall, Cluck and Blaze delivers on flavor, portion size, and that classic Nashville hot chicken experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving something crispy, spicy, and satisfying.

The core experience here is similar, but this location does a great job leaning into local Long Beach culture, something other reviewers said too. Cane's seems genuinely involved with local high schools, and the walls are lined with alumni photos and neighborhood history. Much appreciated. Service is fast, genuinely faster than In-N-Out, which is saying something for a California chain. The value is strong too, $10-15 usually gets you a solid amount of food. The standout is the Texas toast which is buttery, nicely crisped, and honestly kind of unique for a California fast food spot. The chicken itself is fine, nothing special, but it doesn't need to be great because the real star is the Cane's sauce. A smoky, tangy mayo-based dip that's genuinely distinctive. There's a reason you can find it bottled in grocery stores now. Fries are just okay, but again, everything's better with the sauce. A few downsides: the drive-through moves surprisingly slow for how popular it is (never seen it move fast, even on slow days). The interior can also feel overstimulating. The disco ball is charming but the lights are a bit much, and it gets loud. That's especially true late at night, since they're open until almost 4 AM and it draws a big crowd of post-club twenty-somethings and students from CSULB and Long Beach City College. If you can look past the slower drive-through and the sensory overload inside, it's a great spot for a late-night bite.
