This is a food truck set up at the end of 62nd Pl. in los Alamitos Bay right next to a public viewing area with a great view of the Bay. I've tried out several items on the menu and so far everything has been five stars. This is a locals place but it would be a great place to have a dating adventure and sit with a view of the bay.

Early this morning, Husband and I were going to the store heading to Penninsula to hang out and eat the breakfast sandwiches we'd just bought somewhere else. This bubbly woman starts talking to us and we ended up buying two Great tasting Smash burgers ever! They were thick and juicy, cheesy with grilled onion! Oh yeah, and her sauce! Very good. I just had to take her picture with her cute little Red Food Truck!

First, they only take reservations for groups of eight or more. We were a group of five so therefore we were at the mercy of availability and the wait time at 5pm was close to an hour. Normally, I believe the wait time would have been less had it not been for a band that was scheduled to play across the street on the beach at 6pm. The locals were pooring into the Hang Out to dine before the band started, which caused congestion and raised the talk volume. Bad timing on our end. We took advantage of the Wednesday (Fish Fry) Special: 50% off fish 'n' chips, fried fish sandwiches, and fried fish tacos with a drink purchase. The food came out in a timely fashion which was a plus, but down side was all of our ordered entrees were somewhat generic in appeal and flavor. Perhaps there is not much one can do to upside fish 'n' chips or fried fish tacos. In conclusion, the hostess was very apologetic, the food arrived to our table hot and we did enjoy ourselves.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the beach outside was breathtaking. Everything was delicious, and a very special thank you to our server Brandon. When our server arrived to take our drink order, instead of introducing herself and asking what drinks we would like to start with, she simply stood there and blinked a couple of times without speaking a word. It was so awkward for those first few seconds that I almost wanted to introduce mySELF and ask how I could help HER. You can't make this shit up lmao. Anyways, we started with some calamari which came out fine but there were no utensils or small plates or even a napkin to cry into, so we just stared at the calamari for a bit wondering who would be the first one to pick at it with their hands like some uncultured swine. She eventually returned and we asked for some cutlery. Overall the experience took away from the enjoyment of the food and the nice outdoor atmosphere by the water. Our particular server was inefficient and awkward. Hoping she improves her service!

I especially want to shout out Melissa, Justin, and Alberto. Their service is beyond exceptional, but it's how genuinely warm, personable, and welcoming they are that makes every visit so special. We stopped by on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps due to the time, getting a table was easy, even as…read morewalk-ins. The available menu was the brunch menu. We started with appetizers: mussels ($23) and braised lamb belly ($25). For the main course, we ordered a ribeye steak ($69), Scottish salmon ($46), and "dirty pasta" ($36). Drinks included a glass of wine ($17) and a glass of Coke ($4.50). With tax ($23.15) and an "employee benefits" charge ($5.51), the total came to $249.16 before gratuity. The mussels are cooked in a broth of white wine, nduja sausage, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and parsley, with a toasted baguette served on the side. I liked the overall taste of the dish, but the mussels were small. The braised lamb belly was an interesting dish, as it was served with kimchi and thin sheets of daikon radish on the side. I assumed the idea was to make a "taco" by combining the three components. I liked it, though the lamb had bit of gaminess which might not appeal to everyone. The ribeye plate comes as steak only, with sides available à la carte. The steak was cooked nicely--juicy and flavorful, though I was a bit surprised by how rich it tasted. The "dirty pasta" features large rigatoni, ground duck, ricotta, and sauce. It was good, and the duck made for an interesting change from the usual beef. As a complete plated meal, I think the Scottish salmon was impressive--both for its visual presentation and the taste of the meal as a whole. The restaurant floor has a split-level design. Upon entering, you'll find a large oval bar surrounded by tables and booths. Step down a level, and there are seats offering views of the Long Beach marina. This area with a view is protected by windows--which is good, as the marine air is often cool and breezy. It seems that nearly all the establishments owned by this restaurant group have names starting with the letter or word "A." When searching online, use the words "a pch restaurant," as "a pch" alone is apparently too vague a search term. A final note to management: I was surprised to see a $5.51 charge for "employee benefit" on our bill. I playfully asked our server what benefits this covered, but they didn't know. They mentioned it could be removed if I objected, but I chose not to. My point is, if you're charging diners, shouldn't your staff be able to explain it? And if the line item can be so easily discharged, maybe you shouldn't be adding it in the first place.

It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

It's nice to see a place that is filled with dancers of all skill levels just having fun and learning to dance. The venue itself is beautiful. They have a large open air dance floor that overlooks the marina as well as a smaller dance area inside near the pool tables. The decore is classy and elegant overall. On salsa nights they have drink specials in addition to the regular drink menu. Lastly I once lost my key fob there and someone returned it to their lost and found. I'm forever grateful to whomever returned it and the staff at the front door / lost and found. Overall it's an awesome place to come out and hang out and dance.

The pulled pork is the main attraction, followed by the brisket and tri tip. The cabbage slaw features a red cabbage or white cabbage version. It's presented drier, crunchier and was quite tasty. It is a refreshing departure from the watery soggy slaw found in so many other places. Decent street parking availability. Since we had the pulled pork (South Carolina style) on an earlier visit last month, we ordered the tri tip plate, the tri tip sandwich and the house burger respectively and we really enjoyed each item. The meat was juicy without being smothered by the sauce. The egg bread toast that came with the plate was just right -- slightly crunchy on the edges but soft in the middle and was seasoned with a garlic butter. Heavenly. Prices were reasonable and the portions were ample. The server was wonderful --- polite, helpful and efficient, mixed with a casual beach vibe but did not miss a beat. This adult beverages featured some wines that paired well with the menu items while the list of beers was sufficient and comfortably priced.
