Wonderful breakfasts. But be prepared for quite a wait on certain days. But everything I've had there was worth it.

With a 4.5-star average and over 2,000 reviews highlighted by three trusted Yelp buddies (Dana K., Kevin P., and Usalinh P.), this was a must-try when we were in the San Fernando Valley area. Flipping through their extensive menu was already a challenge; narrowing down our choices was an even bigger task. Eggs Benedict - This was selected from the "Hollandaise" section of the menu. It came with two sets of perfectly poached egg and thick cut of grilled ham served on top of an English muffin and topped with the right amount of their homemade hollandaise sauce. Of course, the best way to attack an Eggs Benny is to poke the egg and watch the runny yolk come down first. Then get a slice with everything in it and devour. This proved enjoyable because it was not drenched with sauce. CiCi Scramble - From "Beyond the Farm" came this concoction of turkey sun-dried tomato sausage, spinach, mushrooms, garlic, and mozzarella cheese. Generously served and came out nicely cooked. Green Tea Tiramisu Pancake - The "Sweet Chow" pages had the pancakes, waffles, French toasts, and crêpes. We can't try them all, so we settled for the pancake. This was a bit of a letdown because there was mix up in our order as they served us the regular tiramisu flavor. It was one of those rare occasions when we had to send food back to the kitchen because we specifically came here to try the green tea version. When the real deal finally arrived, the smell of green tea filled the area and the stack of three pancakes topped with green tea tiramisu mascarpone sauce, whipped cream, and powdered sugar made us forget the initial disappointment. It was delicious and was not overly sweet. It looked, smelled, and tasted awesome. As great as hyped! We will definitely be back if we're ever near the valley. This is a solid spot to fill up before making the long I-5 drive back to the Bay Area. I find the blueberry "cheesecake" soufflé pancakes the best of the pancakes and I'm not a cheesecake person. In fact I don't find them cheesecakey at all really, they're just delicious. It's not cheap but it's worth the money. This place is more of a "treat yourself" moment than a diner vibe. The ambience is non existent but the staff is kind. Bring a jacket because it's always freezing inside. Girls are constantly asking to move someplace away from the door but it doesn't matter because they don't realize the entire back of the restaurant is open. Well, we finally went to Cici's Cafe and still not sure if the 1.5hr wait was worth the food and bill. We went early on a Sunday morning and was told the wait would be 20-30mins, easy right? Well, that 30mins turned into an hour and a half. We finally were seated at the bar and we just wanted to eat anything by that time. We originally went in with a plan and stuck to the plan as well. Both of us would get our breakfast entree and share an order of their delicious pancakes. Their menu is a bit overwhelming and I finally decided to go with 2 eggs, sausage and potatoes and my hubby went with the eggs Benedict and we decided on the lemon twist pancakes. All in all, the food was good but I don't think it was worth waiting 1.5hr to be seated. The breakfast at this place is amazing! And the customer service was just as amazing. The cashier was kind enough to make suggestions and we trusted her judgment. We absolutely loved the food and I wish we lived locally to come by more often. I definitely recommend the eggs benedict crab cakes (I've attached a photo for reference) and also the strawberry cheesecake pancakes were a popular selection ( we noticed several people ordered these pancakes) so we wanted to know what the fuss was about and MAN! These pancakes are fluffyyy and yummmy! You must try. The line can get long sometimes but we didn't wait very long and we got our food served (outdoor) fairly quickly. 4 star because the walk to the restroom was a bit dangerous (wet floors) and also the restroom was a bit unsanitary. I ordered my breakfast to go and I was frustrated my to go bag didn't come with any utensils or napkins. I assumed ( my mistake ) utensils and napkins are all ready included and when I phoned in my order I wasn't asked if I wanted any. We ended eating our very priced meal with our hands at the beach. I have come here three times, and each time has been an absolutely delicious experience. The menu has an extensive selection of different types of pancakes to choose from. I've had the guava, tiramisu, and bannamon pancakes - all of them have been so delicious! The pancakes are huge and come in threes. They're definitely big enough to share (if you're feeling generous). My husband was blown away by the huevos con chorizo - so much so that he has disowned the dish at his favorite restaurant in favor of CiCi's. I've had the tofu scramble, which is always filling, and a great vegan option. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu at CiCi's. There are so many options, but everything we've had here has been delicious and memorable. The only problem here is the wait. There is always a line to wait for a table, and it's usually at least 25 minutes, if you're lucky. We ordered our food to go the last time we came here, and the wait was over 30 minutes. The staff here works really hard, but the design of the restaurant is small, so it can get very cramped, which intensifies the volume of everyone talking and makes it difficult to find a place to stand when you want to order food for takeout or to talk to the cashier. They accept credit card and have a lot that they share with the other businesses in the plaza. We have had trouble finding parking in the lot, especially the design of the spots can be narrow, so please be careful when you park. read more

OMG! First of all I FOUND ONION IN MY WAFFLE. this is disgusting! I absolutely hate onions to say the least. See it in the picture below. Second : the server lady was very annoyed with me trying to choose stuff. It was my first time and I asked her to help me with the choices and asked her about the best sellers to choose from. Either way she mentioned a few items and then got very annoyed. So I had to ask her to give me some time while I pick my own choice. It is really hard to pick, there are too many! I'm a big fan of souffle pancakes and I have tried it mostly at asian dessert places in K-town or San Gabriel, which requires me to drive for quite far. So, I was really excited to find out a place in my area that specializes in souffle pancakes (the photos on here look really appetizing). The strawberry sauce was either sour or sweet, quite indistinct. I could barely taste the cheese flavor. Finally!!! After several attempts to go here with very long wait times of over an hour, I had a chance to eat here on a weekday and there was less than a 5 minute wait. They were still very crowded, but we were not rushed and able to enjoy our meal. I took my dad and we both can't stop raving about the food here. For starters the menu is very long (like Cheesecake Factory) and overwhelming. The options are endless and they will modify to anything you want. Due to the portion size (everything is big), we decided to share the veggie omelet asking for a few ingredients on the side which they accommodated and presented nicely. Also, since they are known for their pancakes, we had to try one of those. We agreed upon "trick or treat" which is a pumpkin pancake and we added bananas to it. Umm, hands down the best pancakes, there are 3 in the order, we've ever had!!! They are literally melt-n-your-mouth delicious. I am not a regular coffee drinker, but when I go out for breakfast, I often try something in the coffee or tea family. Opting for a Chai Latte, the presentation was great and it was a perfect compliment to my meal. It is a rather large portion and I couldn't quite finish it. I did find the last part of the drink to be a little to sweet for me, but since it was big, I was more than satisfied with the amount I had. Instead of syrup, there's this decadent green tea situation that just goes. It's sweet, but not too sweet. It definitely falls short to strip if we are comparing how sweet is sweet, but you're not missing a thing. Oh! And, they're fluffy. That's important. The waitresses are always so pleasant. In fact, the last time I came here, they were 20 minutes to close and in no way, shape or form could you actually tell. There was no sense of urgency. It was chill. We've found a wonderful new brunch place thanks to our visit to CiCi's Saturday. The menu is one of the biggest I've seen...so much to choose from and so much that we want to try in future visits. I had the tiramisu pancakes with bacon while my boyfriend had chocolate velvet pancakes with sauces on the side. All were delicious and the servings were very generous. On top of that, the service was top-notch. Kate, our server, was a huge help in navigating us through the menu and figuring what would be the best choices for us.
