Being this was my first time here and I really didn't know what to expect the cake to taste like, I ordered one they always have on their menu, the amedei chocolate. It was better than expected! Between the thin crepes and layers of mousse it almost melts in your mouth. I loved how it wasn't too sweet. $12.50 may be a bit steep for a piece of cake but in this case I felt it was worth every bite! The service this past Sunday afternoon was pretty lackluster though. I think if the woman working seemed more willing to help I would've asked more about the other flavors (and might have ordered a seasonal one as well). She seemed miserable. I found out about Lady M from my friend C who is also a Yelper. She told me that this place is a must try. They make really good Crepes cake. I got the pistachio crepes cake. The cake was tasty but the price was very pricy. The slice of cake was almost $10 before tax. It was not a big slice. They had it packaged in a nice tiny box. The cake was good but not wow. I can tell a lot of effort and time have been put together making the cake. Each layer of the crepe was nice and thin. If you haven't had Lady M's crepes cake, it is definitely worth trying it once. I think so far, Lady M is the only crepes place I know that has over 20 layers. I also have to say so far, their crepes cakes are the better than any other crepes cake I had so far. I went to the Rockefeller location and because Rockefeller was under renovations there were not tables and chairs. I ended up eating the cake outside in the open. read more

I always make a list of food places whenever I have a plan to visit New York City. Few years ago, when I was making such list, this place popped up in many blogs. So I added it to my list. The ambiance of the boutique is very sophisticated. The staff was very nice and helpful. Being a fan of matcha, I got the matcha crepe cake and my friend got the signature crepe cake. They were heavenly. After going back, I tried finding a similar version of their crepe cake because lady M isn't in my location. None of the ones I tried, came remotely close to these cakes. Lady M combines French pastry techniques with Japanese sensibilities, that results in delicate cakes that are a touch sweet. My favorite flavors are matcha, signature and passion fruit. Lady M has many locations throughout the city - this one is located in the Rockefeller Center. There is no seating. It's just a storefront a d offers their usual cakes. Unfortunately, they were all sold out of mooncakes when I came (yuzu milk and lychee rose sounded interesting). I usually find their desserts to be a little overpriced but ‍ I tried the ube mille crepe cake this time which was pretty good. Just purchased ~$90 worth of product.. asked for an extra plastic knife because it's a pair of twin's bday and the worker said 'no - you can only get one knife'. You kidding me? This place is overpriced to begin with, and so their service should at least be top notch. How much is a plastic knife? $0.50? I've spent over $1,000 in this cake shop over the years and I can't even get an extra plastic knife. Manager: please train your workers properly. When you're visiting the Rockefeller Center Concourse indulge your sweet tooth! Lady M Boutiques pop up everywhere there's tourists. I just happened by this location accidentally a few years ago. You can purchase whole cakes or order a slice. The average cost for a slice is between $5-$9.00. It could be more since I haven't asked in a while. The employees are very gracious explaining the ingredients in detail so I am sure not to overdose on something that might cause a problem with my allergies. I enjoy the little chocolate treats!! I have friends to entertain at times. This is a great place to share a sweet experience. It's easy to buy a treat and find a table in the communal dining area. There are 6 Lady M locations in NY! I tried this one in Rockefeller Center. They don't have seating within the shop but there's a communal standing table near Starbucks. I tried 4 items and the total was around $47. I tried: 1. black forest cake 2. champagne crepe cake with strawberry 3. matcha crepe cake 4. chocolate crepe cake My favorite was the champagne one because it was most unique and interesting. You have to be 21+ to get it but it really didn't taste much like champagne to me at all. The champagne part was in the crystal jelly on top I believe. I thought it was very pretty. You can order by the slice or get a full cake. They were quick with packaging. I liked the sleek and minimalist aesthetic of the store. Even their plastic utensils are fancy. They do crepe wedding cakes as well! I loved how thin the slices were and how fine it was. I would have liked slightly less cream in some of them so I could taste more crepe but overall they are as good as crepe cakes get. This is a really cool cake shop, they have multiple locations but this one was located in the Comcast building. My friend and I decided to try the green tea Mille crepe and the chocolate Mille crepes. The green tea Mille wasn't too sweet and had a great green tea/matcha flavor to it. The cakes are beautifully layered crepes, it was light and delicate. The chocolate Mille crepe was great too, you're able to really taste the cocoa ! We got a slice of the red bean mille crepes and a slice of the Earl Grey mille crepes. Both of these cakes are seasonal - the red bean flavor is to celebrate Lunar New Year. I thoroughly enjoyed both flavors. The sweetness of the azuki beans is balanced by the pastry cream. The Earl Grey flavor is present with each bite. It's not at all overwhelming. This Lady M is located in the maze that is Rockefeller Center. It's a small shop with no seating available. Mille crepe cakes are pretty and inviting. I tried a matcha Lady M slice at a Chinese restaurant in Dallas several years ago and it was okay. That cake had clearly arrived in Dallas frozen and had been thawed. So out of curiosity, while we happened to be at Rockefeller Center anyway, we decided to try Lady M again. This time we ordered the chocolate, checkered and passion fruit slices. The cakes at this store also had that same feeling of having been thawed in a fridge. You order a slice, a cake appears from the fridge. It's $10.80 per slice. The Rockefeller store is small with no seating. So we sat outside around the skating rink with our slices. The cake experience was still unsatisfying. Once you put a forkful in your mouth, you realize those pretty layers of crepe and cream are almost purely aesthetic--there's no cake. Instead, it tastes like you're eating a gobful of flavored, gelatinized whipped cream. Occasionally, you'll come across the rubbery feeling of one of the crepe layers and wonder if you accidentally consumed some of the plastic that partitions the slices, and then the crepe feels like a mistake. I want more cake than cream. By the time I'm done with my slice, I feel both unsatisfied, yet weirdly sated with heavy cream. It reminds me of that time I almost consumed a tubful of Cool Whip as a kid. I don't think mille crepes are for me, at least not Lady M's version. read more

I finally made my way to Lady M, and it did not disappoint! I tried the original mille crepe, which is 20 layers (not a thousand, despite the name) of paper thin crepes layered with pastry cream. I thought it was quite interesting. I normally am not a fan of cream-based desserts because the cream-to-bread ratio is always slanted in favor of cream. However, the cream complemented the crepes and there was a balanced ratio in each bite. I appreciated that it was not too sweet! The top is bruleed, so you get that nutty, toasted sugar taste to round out every bite. It is a rich dessert, however, and I felt quite full after half. I recommend sharing. read more

Visiting friends wanted to try Lady M cakes; they been to places where the line for Lady M was insane. I couldn't reach them to see if they tried the cakes at a different lady M location so I decided to pick up some cakes as a surprise. The cakes (ranges $8-$9/slice) are light even with the numerous layers of crepes and cream fillings and not overly sweet. They are delicious and dangerous for the waist at the same time! I picked up a signature and green tea mille crepes. Though, I can tell you from experience both are delicious. Forewarning: have to be careful with the green tea cake while eating because if you inhale the powder, it can cause you to choke so cut small pieces. The employees were helpful if you have any questions. In this location, since there are no seats, your take out box includes a silver forks and napkins for a complete experience. There are 6 locations within the New York City area. This location is in the concourse level on the right corridor (W. 50th St) left-hand side heading to the subway station. It doesn't have as many cake options as the W. 40th St location nor are there any seats though there are plenty of seats with tables available by Ice Skating Rink/Summer Garden. read more

I've been forever seeing reviews and photos of the picture-esque Lady M crepe cakes and I couldn't wait any longer to get in on the action. Today we stopped by the Rockefeller location. It's tucked away in the Comcast building one floor down with all the other eateries. We walked in to the little boutique Lady M store that simply had a counter to order from and no seating. We ordered the fan favorites: the Green Tea Mille Crepe and the Chocolate Mille Crepe. Both were very pleasing to the eye, especially with the green tea dusting and the chocolate swirl. We took them out to the lobby area so we could sit and enjoy our $9 slices of cake. We first tried the green tea slice. It had about 20 layers of thin, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth crepe. It was not sweet at all and had the faint taste of green tea flavoring. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't so sweet being that we were eating them on an empty stomach. It was delicious! Next up was the chocolate Mille crepe. I took the first bite this time since I let my friend break for the green tea. I slid into a euphoria when the chocolate flavor hit. It was absolutely amazing. The cocoa taste was everything I needed on a cold rainy day after work. It was definitely sweeter than the green tea slice but still tolerable. It was my favorite of the two without a doubt. The slices are definitely on the expensive side but they are of high quality. I would return if I'm in the area and have a hankering for something sweet. read more

I got a slice of the green tea crepe, somehow the slice is a lot smaller than other location, not sure if it's just me or that's always been the case. But the taste is very consistent with other Lady M locations, and I'm glad there is no need to wait. read more

Wanted to get a cake to share with friends. Went in asked if there was a certain item left and got 2 slices of cake. 1 raspberry crepe mousse cake and the other a Mother's Day special I believe called Rose Mille crepe. Now there was 2 staff there. One packed the cake and put it in a bag, while the other was at the register and rang me up. I paid and signed. Then when I was putting things away, I was gunna grab the bag. But before I reached for it the lady at the register grab the bag and lightly threw it my way. I hate it when people do that. Even if it was a slight throw and not too hard. It really annoys me. I over looked it but in my opinion it was rude. No matter what kind of problem u had before u came to work or if something happened during work, there is a professionalism code in every work place.
