    Pancake with eggs and bacon

Small diner on the side of the road filled with locals on an early Saturday morning (they open at 6AM). Homey, humble, and welcoming with great service. Locals' conversations is what fills the atmosphere, as there's no music or TVs playing. Just good, old style chatting. The menu is pretty large. Lots of breakfast and lunch options. I had one pancake with eggs and bacon. The pancake is plate-size, so I only ate half of it. Overall, the food is nothing outstanding but it hits the spot if you're just looking for a basic breakfast. I'd support this local business again.

Came here a few weeks ago for breakfast and felt like I needed to leave a review. I've been coming here for years with my dad - literally as long as I can remember. This is the type of place where they remember your name and story. You feel like a part of the family. 11/10 hospitable service. It's a comfortable environment with great home cooked food. I've only ever had their breakfast food and it is delicious every single time. Please stop by and support this local diner!

Stuck in time, do not let the outside nor inside steer you away. If you're looking for a good breakfast, at fair prices, with an honest and non over attentive customer service approach, why aren't you already here? RESTAURANT/AMBIANCE: This place has been here for a very long time, and if all the seniors still come here, there's a reason. I came here 5 years ago, and just the other day - same experience, same great tasting food. Seat yourself, and wait for your server to be right up with menus. FOOD/DRINK: I got the veggie omelette, with an endless cup of black coffee from the pot. It was kept topped up the whole time, and I appreciate that! Best bang for your buck on food? Get the bowl! It's layered and fully loaded! OVERALL: Now that I'm up in the area for a good stint, I'll for sure be back in here more often. A local legend, and I totally get why. A solid 4/5.

Great little place for breakfast. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and told we could sit anywhere. It's not a very big place but has an ample amount of seating. We found a table and the waitress immediately came over and took our drink order. The menu has a good selection and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are generous and the food was really good. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. I would definitely stop back in for another visit.

We wanted to try some place new for us but 'local'...we found it at Lafayette Diner! I had the Two egg platter with crispy bacon and a biscuit and grits and Wifey had Two egg platter with crispy bacon and home fries. The food was excellent and arrived very quickly! I made a sandwich with the biscuit and didn't leave a scrap of other food on my plate. The home fries were a little underdone for my taste, but the flavor was off the chart. Coffee was ok. Apparently, this place is big on 'salt fish' which looked delicious, but I wasn't trying it for breakfast. Our waitress (Kelcie) was SOOOOO friendly and a really good waitress. The place got really busy as we were finishing and she didn't flinch a bit. This is a local joint where the waitress knew most of the people who came in. Great food, great service, great prices.

I called ahead to verify it would not be a long wait. Kelsey was so friendly and told me to come right on in. When I arrived she provided the best customer service. Kelsey was so attentive to our needs. I selected the salt fish, grits, fresh tomatoes and cornbread. My friend had a huge pancake the size of the plate, fresh eggs, and bacon fried to perfection. This experience made such an enjoyable start to my weekend!

I like to support the local restaurants whenever I can so I decided to give this place a try. I've always drove by and wondered if it was worth checking out. Upon entering we were told to seat ourselves. The place was small and quaint, mostly occupied by older customers. The Interior is dated, but that's to be expected of an older locals diner. The menu had a variety of items to choose from at a reasonable price. I ordered the breakfast bowl which was loaded with meats, eggs and potatoes, smothered in a sausage gravy topped with cheese. It was super filling. My friend ordered the eggs and ham. I felt the ham was entirely too salty, but he didn't seem to mind.

Stopped on the way through driving to CT from NC. Sure are sorry we don't live closer. Due to traffic on 95, we got there just before 2 pm. We were welcomed and given great service even though they were fixing to close. Hubby had the meatloaf dinner and said it was as good as his mom's (although no catsup -- but the homemade gravy sure made up for it .) My hot turkey sandwich was just the comfort food I was looking for.

For a steakhouse, the prices are relatively reasonable but by nature it is a bit more expensive than average. The service has been consistently excellent and the staff are friendly. There is a nice bar and some seating in the bar area as well. In the cooler weather the bar area seating enjoys a well placed fireplace. I recommend the double black diamond martini. The steaks, chicken and salmon dishes I have had I enjoyed. I think the NY strip is my favorite and I like to get the port mushrooms and a baked potato as the sides. I tried the Tomahawk pork chop recently and it was delicious and a generous amount of food. Most steak places also know how to properly cook fish and the Salmon is always very good here. The three course meal deal is a good value if you are hungry and the dessert is a full size. My one complaint is that the last two visits, the air conditioning did not seem to be working properly and the restaurant seemed a bit uncomfortable. Please fix your HVAC!

Our bartender/server was Lashone and she was funny, fast and friendly! She was pouring drinks for the ENTIRE restaurant and didn't miss a beat!! The breakfast menu is small but everything sounded fantastic. I chose the Steak Tacos; my husband chose the brie and bacon frittata (added by the chef since the quiche was sold out. Steak tacos were delicious (see pic). Menu said they had steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, tomato salsa, breakfast potatoes and cilantro. I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. We'll be back soon to see Lashone!

The food is well cooked and served hot. I wished I could have tried a lot more of the menu... but it was a quick stop on the way home from a beach vacation. For such a small restaurant... there are a lot of seats and looks to be able to even host a large party of 15-20 on a long bench. The Gus burger was hearty, beef patty was thick and delicious... the fries are interesting... like a hybrid between a fry and potato chip. The onion rings are large and seem to have a funnel cake coating! Crispy and well fried. The French toast is thick and fluffy and the bread density is amazing!
