Before boarding our long flight home we picked up a prime rib and fried chicken combo. You get three choices for sides and I opted for two servings of corn and one of the mashed potatoes and gravy. It's super quick and a cafeteria style service so you can get your food and catch your flight quickly. This place is good and a better choice for a flight then the food served on airplanes. Having no means of a substantial meal on board our flight, my husband and I decided to grab a plate from the "healthiest" option being offered at the airport. Enter Lahaina Chicken's $16 Half Chicken Plate with all dark meat, 1 scoop of white rice and 2 servings of iceburg lettuce salad with vinaigrette dressing on the side. Even though we were starving by the time we shared this meal, the dark meat chicken was as choke dry as choke dry could possibly be. We managed to choke it down though. Now I understand why several people I saw eating this plate lunch at the airport had a pile of dry shredded chicken meat pushed to the side on their plates. O, the humanity! read more

Eating at the airport is always tricky. You're getting ready to catch a flight, you've got a limited selection and gosh darn it you're hungry from rushing to get to the airport! There I stood with a true dilemma. It was a choice between Burger King and the Lahaina Chicken Company. One I knew well, almost too well according to my stomach fat. So Lahaina Chicken won out because of the roasted chicken and vegetable sides. We are all slaves to vanity... Chose to get a roasted chicken plate with three sides for $11.30. I got 1/4 of a roasted chicken (hopefully from Lahaina), a giant scoop of mashed potatoes with a lake of gravy in the middle, peas and beans. My plate was huge and there was enough to feed two people. I walked over to a Starbucks to eat my chicken plate because I like to pretend that Starbucks actually serves real food to accompany my coffee. Try it sometime, it's dreamy. The chicken was tasty although I would have liked it if my chicken skin was crispy. Actually I think I would have preferred if it was deep fried but that's just me. The mash potatoes were decent and my frozen veggies were enough to delude me into thinking that this meal had actual nutritional value. So why the four stars? Best meal I've ever had at the airport in regards to food and value for the price. I was shocked to see such high ratings for this place. It did not taste good. We ordered/tried out both their fried, and non-fried (I'm assuming it was grilled?) versions of chicken, and were disappointed with both. Even the fried rice that came with our chicken was barely edible. Additionally, the service was sub par and the prices were outrageous. I expect prices to be high in airports, and am usually willing to overlook it... Sadly, there was just nothing particularly good about this place. Neither my wife nor I finished our food, and that says a lot. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because their employees weren't rude (they just weren't nice), and I did not get sick from the food. Before our flight home I knew that I should probably get some food in my family before we took off on the 5 hour flight ahead of us. This seemed the most toddler friendly for us and fast. They were preparing pizzas fresh before us so I went with a small Pepparoni Pizza split between the 3 of us. It was pretty flavorless, bland pizza. The special of the day was Pizza, Soup and a Salad Combo. The Soup looked awful. Closer to vomit in a warming bowl. I couldn't even go there. Also, my husband cant eat salad and my son is two and just doesn't. I really didn't need salad and a pizza to fill me up. Its also quite expensive. I should have just got food on the plane. It would have probably been better and more flavorful. I will definitely be skipping this place if we ever have the pleasure of being near the gates in this part of the airport. read more

I hate the reviews that start with, 'good for airport food'. Why? This AIN'T Airport food. Yes, it's in an airport but the quality of food, the portion sizes, etc... are NOTHING like typical airport food. This was the first time (without walking into a 5 star restaurant @ DEN which is an unfair comparison) that I enjoyed every ounce of my meal. Had my last meal here in Oahu. Hawaiian Airlines serves up some really inedible food, so I wanted something to bring on the plane. Everything looked good, the ribeye roasts, ribs, pork, but more so the roasted chicken. I ordered the 1/2 chicken combo, which came with 3 sides. The frozen vegetable sides are the reason for the 1 star deduction, but the chicken was fantastic. Brined and slow roasted, both white and dark meat were well seasoned and juicy. I think I made others on my flight envious, but damn them if I'm eating the in flight meal again. Go here if you need to eat in Honolulu International. read more

Love this place! There are 2 locations at the airport! This is the 6th time at Honolulu Airport and I've eaten there everytime! You can't go wrong with anything you order here as I've tried almost every meat and side item on the menu. One plate of food is MORE than enough for two people. Half Roast chicken is the way to go. Not kidding, the chicken was mouth-watering, finger-lickin' good. The meat fell right off the bone and it was seasoned to perfection. This particular location is at Honolulu International Airport and we were so thrilled that there was a decent place to eat near our gate! One of the security agents recommended the place to us and she warned us about the large portions. We took her word for it and split the half-roast chicken. Had a stopover in HNL on the way to Maui. Checked Yelp and saw LCC had good reviews. We ordered two quarter chickens with fried rice and mashed potatoes. The chicken was delicious! And I don't mean just for airport food. It was moist, juicy and flavorful. The fried rice and mashed potatoes were also very food. Thus, the average consumer is left with only food court dining options. We opted to grab dinner from Lahaina Chicken Company instead of boring old McDonald's, and I must say that it definitely wasn't shabby for an airport dining option. No matter what/how much protein you get, your meal comes with three sides. I got a quarter of roast chicken with corn, pasta salad, and some veggies. My boyfriend ordered three pieces of fried chicken (they gave him a fourth for free to help clear out their stock) with his choice of sides. The corn and pasta salad were passable, but the mixed veggies were completely bland. I barely touched them, but that was fine since there was already so much food in my box anyway. Suffice to say that it was waaay too much food for both of us to finish. However, the price was right since our combined total came up to just $25. Stuck at HNL for a seven hour emergency layover, this unassuming food spot turned into quite a treat. The quality is a bit better than what you'd expect looking at the steam tables, and the staff were helpful in making suggestions, and one of them even went back into the kitchen area to make sure that my order was made using the freshest sides. Got my boarding pass. Boarded the Wiki Wiki Bus because Lahaina Chicken was in the furthest terminal from my gate, and got in line to order. I wish I could've ordered it all: Fried chicken, ribeye roast, mashed potatoes, fried rice, and some other meats that were a blur (I had to grab and go and catch my flight back to the mainland, sadly). I ordered the fried chicken and fried rice. The service was fast. I was back on the Wiki Wiki Bus, on the plane and in my seat faster than you can like the fried chicken grease off your fingers. While everyone else was munching on their prepackaged $10 plane food, I opened my last memory of O'ahu... still crisp, savory, soulful fried chicken and fried rice. Whenever I leave Oahu for home, I always pick up dinner for family at Lahaina Chicken. Ask for the "airplane pack" they fix us right up. I notice that others do the same. $10 for a Whopper....or $11 for a roast pork, mash potato, corn, coleslaw, and gravy? The choice is easy: Lahain Chicken. If we do not bring home (they close early), breakdown in the family. BTW...the fried chicken is outrageously good. I wish the airport had the hamburger steak like Ala Moana. At the InterIsland terminal in Honolulu, you can go to Lahaina Chicken Co. and get a fast food meal that includes vegetables. It's not fresh, it's not served hot (almost warm is how mine was). The chicken tasted good. Everything else tasted how you'd expect for fast food. But it's not a Big Mac and fries. After two long flights to get to Hawaii, and one left to go to get to Maui, this was a great alternative. read more

My expectations for airport food are low. Very low. But I was pleasantly surprised by Lahaina Chicken company. While it wasn't gourmet, it was a satisfying meal with some decent sized portions. After eyeballing the various main entrees to see what looked best, I ruled out the fried chicken and instead went with the roasted chicken/beef combo meal. The chicken was well cooked yet still moist, the beef was acceptable and a double portion of green beans/assorted vegetables was slightly overcooked but OK overall as a side dish. The two ladies working behind the counter were nice and yet still efficient at keeping the line of hungry people moving. Since I'm a likely candidate to either ricochet beef down my shirt or end up with gravy stains on my sleeve (notice I didn't order mashed potatoes? there's a reason for that!), I was pleased to reduce my spill odds by snagging a table. I do wish that the dining area was larger, especially because many people (myself included) had their carry on luggage taking up space. Lack of seats did cause some people to take their meals to their respective gates. 3.5 stars overall, especially since we are talking about an airport meal. read more

I may be a bit biased in this review to give it 4 stars, but I feel my reasons are good for 2 reasons. 1. This is an airport location and we all know how we think airport food is low quality and overpriced. However, you get your money's worth here. 2. On the mainland, I cannot think of quick service restaurant that consists of items such as prime rib, roasted chicken, roast beef, and other carved meats. Maybe Boston Market but this is way better in my opinion. An average meal here usually costs $7-$10 depending on what you get plus a drink when normal items such as prime rib would be $15+ and a normal sit down restaurant. But everything was delicious and all the food tasted fresh and came in decent sized portions. I ordered the prime rib with two sides and I was satisfied for the long flight I had ahead of me. Meat and potatoes always do the trick for me. So if you're in the islands, this is no run of the mill fast food chicken place. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean. read more

Pizza was actually decent...but the lady working nights was very rude. We ordered a Margarita Pizza and she rolled her eyes and sighed very rudely. Ok I understand she is tired and that they were closing in 15 min but no need for the rudeness. So we kept it simple and ordered a pepperoni pizza with sausage. That was another roll of eyes, "we don't do that" she said. Ok...what do they do? Anyways pepperoni it was.
