Hong Kong style cafe!! Went in the morning around 9am on Saturday. They have a breakfast menu which is from 8am to 5pm LOL.. interesting times. But the breakfast menu is AWESOME! VERY good prices for their dishes in this economy, the portions are reasonable (not too small, not too much) for what you pay for. Their noodle dishes are with lai fun noodles which are my absolute favorite. It got pretty busy at around 10:30am when there was a bit of a wait. Walked by and saw their breakfast menu so I decided to give it try today. Arrived at 10:30 and all the tables were taken and there were 3 parties in front of me. We waited 15 minutes for our table. We ordered set C and set D after few minutes after we were seated. They are kinda short staffed so please be patient with them when you need to order. Our set breakfasts arrived slowly and during half way our hot milk tea finally came. I'm very impressed with the portion and the quality. Will definitely come back to try their other breakfast sets. Yo, this place is legit. I think it used to be noodlesophy or something, but they changed. Very authentic flavors. Unless you have an aversion to spiciness, you can not go wrong with anything on the menu. When in doubt, just order the C00 (if it's within your price range, else order C02). I had the laksa soup C04, and I liked it, but I would imagine other people might not. It tastes like a curry coconut soup. Although, I do recommend you check out the pricing. The build your own option can actually be more expensive than simply ordering all the same things on the front of the menu. But I think they give you more if you build your own? not entirely sure. People there are really nice. Very family vibes. They have a breakfast option which looks pretty stacked. Other folks said it tasted great. read more

I really wanted to like this place, maybe I ordered the wrong item. I ordered the design-your-own soup. They really nickel and dime when it comes to portions,. Each topping is about $3, which adds up quick. The Laksa broth is described on the menu as a rich and spicy coconut broth. There was nothing rich about this broth. A prior review was on point when saying that the broth tasted like water with some flavoring added to it. Had to add a bunch of chili oil just to get a semblance of flavor in it. Ate my noodles, dumped the broth. I've had instant ramen with more complex flavors. My partner had the chiu chow broth and shared similar sentiments regarding how bland the broth was. Lastly, the whole time here we were never asked how our meal was. There's a ton of other local businesses which strive to provide a flavorful, more authentic meal. My family and I went there on Saturday, Sept 30th. The restaurant wasn't too busy - we got a table as soon as we walked in. The lady server greeted us and gave us the menu. Shortly, we placed our orders. They serve breakfast from 8AM to 5PM. I enjoy having breakfast around early noon - so the hours worked perfectly. Some places serve breakfast until 11:00AM . The restaurant was clean and bright. They had utensils, napkins, and sanitizer on the side of the table which was very convenient. We ordered water, soy milk, and milk tea. I like the silver cups they used - keep the drinks stay hot. The soy milk was kind of bland.. next time I should ask them if they have sweet soy milk. The milk tea was smooth and tasted good/bitter-sweet. We ordered a few items but I only took picture of my meal. Forgot to take the others, the food looks good and quickly start eating them. I like the breakfast plate portions - not too much or too less. Mine came first, I had the millet congee which was nice and hot - has a much lighter taste and texture - doesn't feel as heavy compared to porridge and oatmeal. It came with two small side dishes - steamed peanuts and preserved veggies you can eat as is and/or mixed into the congee. We ordered the homemade dumplings - they were good and tasty. I liked the sauce they used and mixed with vinegar. Lastly ordered the Preserved veggies with noodles - the broth was flavorful and noodles were soft. I finally tried this new joint. Menu has wide variety of selection but had to try their signature broth, the Laksha broth braised pork bowl. I ordered it as is without additional toppings. Not bad for a $15 ramen but overall the dish needed more umami. I actually dont mind the absence of that msg, schechuan pepper heavy taste profile as some joints have but couldn't get rid of the watered down feeling from the broth. FYI this place is a rebranded Noodles & Things. The tables, layout, bowls, down to the pre packaged chopsticks with the noodle & things name and logo, and likely same ownership. The menu is eerily similar down to your own select a soup/noodle/ingredients. The main change is it's Szechwan style twist. Nothing to brag about. It's been a while since I've felt depressed after a meal. To start, I'm actually unsure with the current ownership situation as stated by other reviews. However, I was informed that Noodles & Things was bought out and is now under new ownership. With that being said, the quality has absolutely dropped off a cliff. I ordered a custom Laksa bowl and the broth itself was literally Laksa-flavored water. I don't say this lightly, but that's really the only way I can describe it. Spicy? Nope, not a single taste bud of mine was tickled and I have a fairly low tolerance to spicy foods. The little flavor I did taste made me question whether the chef had actually ever tried laksa before... it was that bad. (An analogy of Safeway nigiri and actual nigiri come to mind as they're far apart in quality but you can at least tell that it's somewhat on the right path. I don't really know if I can say the same here.) Added sliced beef? Nope, for the $3.25 charge I received three -- yes three -- small (e.g. 3 inch long "sukiyaki style") pieces of beef. Added cabbage? Nope, for the $2.85 charge I received what was effectively one outer leaf for a regular sized Napa cabbage. The only redeeming factor was the fish egg balls as it was fresh but that wasn't enough to salvage the meal. TLDR: Nope. For the $16.30 charged (barring tax + tip) I'd recommend that you stay as far away as possible. Hell, you might even have to cover the entire cost (with free delivery) for me to even reconsider eating here. read more

I've been living in the area for about a year now and wanted to try some of the spots in Millbrae downtown. I noticed their menu had a variety of noodles which caught my eye so I decided to order their beef rib noodle, knife cut noodles, and chicken wings.
