Shrimp cocktail is best I've ever had. Plenty of jumps shrimp with perfect taste- the juice is amazing- love drinking it alone lol cucumbers onion cilantro - very generous and clean. Get the shrimp tacos!!!! They are the best around. I recommend getting them with cabbage versus lettuce but both are great. You get three on a plate. I thought I would need beans and rice as well but the three tacos were super filling. Lalo's doesn't mess around! You won't be disappointed. read more

been here many times over the years but decided to finally write up a report. on a whim i stopped by and picked up dinner for the fam. my son had the rice beans & cheese burrito and loved it. i picked out the carnitas combo plate with flour tortillas. not stingy with the meat at all! my wife had the carne asada tacos--she could only finish 2. big chunks of tender carne asada! the red salsa is pleasantly fiery and very tasty. definitely good! read more

As you know, there are bathrooms outside right next to the kitchen door. I saw a cook come out the door with black food service gloves on, use the restroom, then come back out with the same gloves. This place is bomb. I always complain about not going here and when I finally did I wasn't disappointed. We had the corn burritos (omg why haven't I had this anywhere else!) so simple yet sooo good. I really liked the shrimp ceviche tostada tho. My God. That is heaven!!! Nice big pieces of shrimp, properly seasoned and TONS of avocado. Carne Asada Chimichanga--- I haven't had a chimichanga and so long. But this one definitely hit the spot. The tortilla was still crunchy even though there was sour cream and guacamole drizzled on top of it with cheese. And the Carne Asada is so good. Great Chile rellano burritos $7.50. We always get the burrito combo that comes with chips, salsa and soda $9.00. We split it and are very satisfied with size and quality. The beans have lard so we ask them to sub lettuce. Vegetarians like this burrito. Their chips and salsa are fresh with just the right amount of heat from jalepeno. They offer red and green hot sauces with the burrito. Red has more depth of flavor and green is more mild. If I could give negative stars I would . I went to try it since I haven't been there in years . This is irrelevant but when I was a kid my parents would take me there when they had money left over so it brings back memories that I want my son to carry along with . When I went there the place was dirty , poor service, waited for almost an hour to receive my food and When I received it , it was disgusting just horrible honestly even the smell was revolting . I would say that was the worst food I have ever tried . I never return food I usually suck it up and eat it so I won't complain but I just had too and they made it a big deal . I asked for my money back and they didn't want too I had only took 4 bites 1 thinking it was going to be delicious 2nd to reassure me it was that disgusting and the 3rd and 4th were trying to consume it all so I won't be rude but lalos went from good memories to every time I hear or see lalos I regurgitate (feel like throwing up) I wanted to take my son there so he can feel the same way I did but never again will I enter a lalos . Delicious breakfast burritos I'm vegetarian eggs and some cheeses but no meat of any kind

When you order cheese enchiladas, you want the cheese MELTED inside. Last night AND AGAIN TONIGHT, I ordered their cheese enchilada combination dinner. Both times, when I got home, I discovered that the cheese inside was still partly shredded and kind of cold and not even all the way melted. This happens 50% of the time when I order Lalo's cheese enchiladas, my standard order. Sometimes the cheese inside the tortillas is not even starting to melt; it is just full-on cold shredded cheese inside. It's so irritating! I don't want to have to microwave my dinner when I get it home because this wrecks the contrast of the cold lettuce/tomato/sour cream/guacamole salad that they add on top. Their enchilada sauce and FLAVOR IS EXCELLENT, spot on---but why can't they cook these all the way through---even when we clearly specify and explain that unmelted inside cheese has been a problem in the past? Special requests are not their forte. We always CLEARLY ask for no white sprinkled chunks of dry white Mexican cheese on our refried beans---and about half the time they give us sprinkled chunks of dry white Mexican cheese on our beans anyway. Sure, we scrape it off and the planet keep rotating, but again, it's irritating (and wasteful). Here's another problem, my husband asks for NO ONIONS on his rice that comes with combination dinners, while I love the onions, salsa, and cilantro topping they normally add to their rice. Our differentiated rice order is commonly fumbled during execution, either ignored.and we both get rice with all the toppings, or we both get plain rice. Oh, and sometimes they forget the lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guac salad topping altogether---and that is a sad discovery when that happens, too. Sure, sometimes they get our order just right, but many times they don't. We love the food at Lalo's (!) and we keep coming back year after year, but beware that what you order does not always relate to what you get. It's just all amazingly hit and miss. I guess it's just part of the whole Lalo's experience. Even when the person taking the phone order clearly and accurately reads our order back to us, what we pick up to take home sometimes seems completely random. The people taking the phone orders for take-out obviously do not do a good job of accurately communicating with the cooks behind the counter. The moral of the story is to unpack your take-out packages all the way and inspect each dinner. And I guess I will need to start asking for a knife and fork to CUT open my enchiladas and check the cheese inside for meltiness before we leave with our take-out packages. read more

Carnitas Taco plate that comes with beans/rice, so bueno as well. Love this place. Parking lot is a bit weird, have to exit thru a back alley if you can't park on the street. Never been to Lalo's before. Looking at the gigantic menu I start to get overwhelmed. It stretches the length of the building! Tacos, burritos, breakfast, tortas, burgers, seafood, too much! I am interested in like six different things, then make a snap decision to try the chimichanga. This is the biggest chimichanga I've ever seen! If volume is your thing, then this is the place for you. I'm feeling more a quantity over quality issue, although I have only this chimi and its components, as well as the chile Colorado that the hubs got to judge by. I feel like I should have ordered a breakfast burrito. Oh well, enough with the feelings. The chicken is little chunks that seem a little hard, over cooked? The chimi is stuffed with chicken, beans and rice. On top of it is some green sauce, sour cream and cheese. Hubs' chile Colorado is okay. The meat seems a little mystery to me, but relatively tender. The sauce seems like it came from a can. Makes me want to make it at home to actually scratch his itch. Having a menu this huge is really tough to pull off. The only issue I've noticed out of the many times my husband and I have visited this place was the guy at the counter came back from the bathroom with a dry, dirty bandage on his finger tip so I'm guessing he never washed his hands... AMAZING MEXICAN FOOD! The fish tacos were cooked perfectly! The flavor bursts into your mouth as you take the first bite. I love the amount of sauce to veggies ratio. So filling and yummy! Two fish tacos and I was stuffed. The cheese enchiladas were covered in cheese and sauce, just the way we like it. The salsa is great as well. Perfect amount of spice! The shrimp in the fajitas was some of the most flavorful and tasty we've have had in a long time. Lalo's always delivers. For that weekday evening when you don't feel like cooking, or a weekend where you're craving coctel de camaron, Lalo's is the place to be. The food is consistently great, and their generous combinations with meat, beans, rice, tortillas and salsa are always enough for me and my husband to split. Our bill seldom goes over $12. Their carnitas are the best I've found in the US, and that semi-American specialty - nachos - is off the charts. You know how you always end up with that sad pile of naked chips when you get nachos and eat all the good stuff off the top and the bottom? That never happens at Lalo's. You'll be using that last chip to scrape up the last delicious dregs of refritos, jalapeños and cheese. We've been eating at Lalo's for at least five years and have never been disappointed.
