Lamaii is a cute date spot located in Chinatown but the food isn't authentic since they try to make it like an Asian fusion spot. I ordered their steak drunken noodles and it was super soggy and wet with tons of sauce. The steak was over cooked and hard to chew on. I got confused with my dish. I've ordered drunken noodles at many Thai restaurants and it's normally stir fried without the extra sauce. If you want to sip on a cocktail this is a cute spot. But skip the food. read more

We treated my boyfriend's mother to dinner at Lamaii for her birthday and had a great experience. Located in Chinatown, Lamaii is in a strip mall with a few other restaurants and has a decent parking lot compared to other Chinatown spots. The interior is very cozy and luxe, the black and gold color scheme creates an upscale ambiance. We were promptly seated for our reservation and our drinks arrived quickly. They were out of the IPA that my boyfriend ordered, however they were gracious to substitute for another IPA that was larger for no additional cost. My drink, the Dok Lamaii, was a delicious variation on a lychee martini. It was presented with a beautiful flower, however I did miss having the actual lychee fruit to enjoy. We started our meal with the garlic green beans, which were some of the best green beans I've had. Anytime green beans are on the menu at an Asian restaurant I always order them and they are usually spicy (which I love), but these were not spicy. Instead, they had an addictive garlic sauce that made me not miss the spice at all (which is a testament to the flavor). I easily could have just enjoyed an order of those for my dinner! For our entrees, we ordered the Pad See Aew Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and Tom Yum Hang. Everyone in our party were raving about how delicious our entrees were, each full of layers of flavor. I'm not a fan of Pad See Aew, however I tried a bite of my boyfriend's and it was actually good. I feel it usually has a strong, off putting flavor, but their version was much more tame. The Tom Yum Hang was absolutely delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the sauce was a complex blend, with the stars being lemongrass and a hint of spice. The only thing that I found odd is they offered me rice with my Tom Yum Hang and then charged me for it. I'm totally fine being charged for it, I just prefer when servers let you know it's at an additional charge when offering. While there are so many amazing places in Chinatown I have on my list to try still, I will definitely make a point to go back to Lamaii again. read more

This is the place if you're looking for some delicious and savory Thai food! It's a great spot for a date night which was exactly what I went for. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is small so I'd imagine it would easily get filled up during the weekend dinners. Reservations can be made online through Resy which makes things a lot of convenient. Gang Rawaeng (5/5): This was my favorite entree tonight! It's braised beef in a coconut cream sauce. Pouring the sauce over rice made the meal even better! The coconut sauce reminds me of the same coconut cream that they probably use for mango sticky rice. Salmon Noir (5/5): The crunch with the salmon really gives this appetizer an umami sensation. Every bite made me want to take another. Panang w/ Crispy Duck (5/5): They're not lying when they said the duck was crispy! It was so delicious!! The portions for everything we ordered was a lot smaller than we anticipated especially for the price point. The main entrees doesn't come with rice and we were charged $5 for 2 cups of rice. It's a little on the pricey side but the food was phenomenal. I could tell they were short staff which lead to lacking service. It was hard to wave down the servers and our waters were never refilled. I enjoyed my meal but the overall experience wasn't 5 stars worthy. Supposed to have jumbo crab lumps but I don't think think I noticed any jumbo crab lumps. Pad Sen Lobster: 4.5/5 $26 So yummy! I would get it again! The noodle was very flavorful. I would totally recommend this dish again! Service: 3/5 The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night. We didn't really have a server asking us for our drink order. We waiting 15 mins before the owner (looks like) came to greet us and took our food order and drink order at once. No one check on us or our food during the meal. It wasn't too busy and the plaza has plenty of parking spots I was really impressed with the interior decor : bright ,catchy and modern. We ordered the fresh oysters and a ceviche and beef drunken noodles The oysters were very fresh and the topping was also delicious. shrimp Ceviche was okay, there's something lacking in that ceviche, it's not all there yet . I think it needs a little more flavor . However, it was decent enough Now our main entree : drunken noodles . When she brought that out , I immediately didn't think I was going to like it. it looks really really wet ! The noodles were stuck together and some parts weren't cooked .. It was iswimming with sauce and , the wok flavored isn't there . We didn't really care for it .. We also ordered egg yolk ice scream. And that was very good . I ate here over the summer and had a great experience, which is why I decided to come back yesterday with my family of 14. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. Both the food and service were slow, and the portions were surprisingly small for the price. The tom yum soup was especially disappointing--there was barely any soup at all. While my brother was still eating, the staff brought out the check and asked if we wanted dessert, which made us feel rushed. The total bill was close to $500, including a 20% tip, and it did not feel worth the cost. Sadly, this experience makes me unlikely to return for a third visit. Decided to check out their Chinatown location just out of curiosity since I went to their Henderson location last time. We ordered some of the same stuff but ordered more different dishes. I would say I like the ambiance and the vibes just a little bit more at the other location. They had really good music at the other location too and I really enjoyed it. Service was a little lacking here unfortunately. But the food and drinks made up for it. Only problem with my drink was that it was a very small amount, almost as much as a shot. Probably the most delicious Thai restaurant in Vegas. I thought it was just hype after seeing this place on Instagram, but after trying it out myself, I am a believer now too. The crispy duck panang is hands down my favorite. The duck is so crunchy and the curry complements the duck well and brings out all the flavors. The crab fried rice was delicious as well, you can really taste the crab flavor since they cook it in crab fat. I would probably skip the kao soi, I was less impressed with this dish. I had hoped the beef would be more tender, but it was actually quite tough. The wing zaap was good also, I liked how light and crunchy the skin was, but the flavoring seemed more like a basic lemon pepper seasoning than anything special. read more

I came here because I stopped going to the other popular touristy Thai restaurant and wanted to try a new spot. I love Thai food and my standard is above average. Food: For the Shrimp cake, the shrimp taste wasn't as good / strong as I expected but the cake was crispy. They used this blueberry / strawberry like jam as the sauce. I personally prefer the sweet and chilling sauce. For the Panang Crispy Duck, it was very flavorful and crispy. The curry was creamy and works very well with the duck. For the drunken noodle with steak, it's my least favorite. The flat noodle was mushy and didn't have the "Wok Hei". Wok Hei is wok energy. It was too saucy. It also tasted a little too salty to my taste. Service: I had no issue with the service. They were low on staff so I don't blame them. Ambiance: The interior overall is clean. She provided great customer service but the wait time was long and we felt bad every time we had to bother her. Although the food was good, the service part is what keeps us from returning so I highly suggest the restaurant owner hires at least one more worker. Dok Lamaii Flower in the Garden ($14): This was a tasty drink with the perfect amount of sweetness. You don't taste the alcohol but it doesn't taste as light as a lychee martini. Lamaii Old Fashion ($15): This didn't taste good at all. It was almost like drinking straight up alcohol so we were given more bael demerara syrup which made it better. Garlic Herb Crispy Prawn ($26): This was really good and tasted exactly as the name states. Big prawns that were fried perfectly and had great flavors from the garlic. Drunken Noodles Crispy Duck ($28): This was good overall but if we were to deconstruct it, it wasn't. The crispy duck was not as crispy as the prawn and that's probably because of the sauce. This drunken noodle was really wet and had so much liquid leftover. They did give a good amount of duck and the flavors were good. The drunken noodles had a lot more vegetables than noodle, and the noodles didn't have that burnt wok taste. I'm guessing this is a fusion version which kinda worked. My husband and I prefer the original drunken noodles. The crispy duck would have been pretty solid if they didn't pour the sauce on top. Panang Sauce ($8) + Large Steamed Rice ($6): We wanted to try the duck Penang but since we got the duck drunken noodle, we were recommended to order the penang sauce on the side. We got rice too but didn't know there were sizes to them until we saw the check. They gave a lot of rice but we honestly didn't need that much so a small would have sufficed. The white rice was nice & fluffy. The panang sauce was really good and not salty/heavy like a typical penang curry. It went well with everything else we had. read more

I normally love lots of spicy food so I confidently got the medium spicy papaya salad which was waayyy too spicy for me lol. I couldn't finish, but ate half. Besides the heat, it was very well made, balanced salad. Some places overdo the flishy flavor in the salad but it was perfect here. The Kao Soi was amazing. I've never had it before and so glad I tried it. The beef was perfect, the broth was flavorful, and the fixings (lime, onion, etc) added the perfect balance of flavors. Lamaii has been on my list for awhile. I mean, fancy cocktails, extensive wine list and Thai food? Sign me up! I finally made reservations to come in on a Saturday night. Walking in, the place is cute. I love the focus on wine bottles and the bar. The booths running down the middle of the restaurant are interesting and fun. We waited for a few minutes for someone to come to the host stand. There were not a lot of people working (I counted 3 FOH) and the restaurant wasn't at capacity but many tables were taken. After we sat, we waited some more. There was a lot of waiting but I get it, you don't want to overstaff, at least not in this economy. The person who took our order was also the person who made our drinks. I was excited that the food menu was so small but the cocktail and wine section was so large. Unfortunately, I don't think the cocktails live up to the hype. I mean they were drinkable but just not special in any way shape or form. The food was good. Nothing special, with the exception of the wings. Those were probably top 5 wings I've ever had (mans said so too.) The Khao Soi was fairly disappointing but the meat was super tender and the flavor was ok, so my hunt for good Khao Soi lives on. I like that they take payment at the table immediately, instead them taking your card, especially with how long we've waited for everything so far, but I wish that they showed the receipt. The service was good- we were able to get everything we needed and a staff member helped us with our spiciness level. The true star, as it should be, was the food. Everything we tried our group loved. Special shout out to the Som Tum (Papaya Salad), the Moo Tod Nam Pla (Deep fried pork belly with dipping sauce) and Mun Pu Fried Rice (crab friend rice.)
