That's on the expensive side for a latte, so I went in with pretty high expectations. Everything about the experience was quick and efficient. The line moved fast, my drink came out quickly, and I was in and out with no issues. The shop itself seemed like a great place to sit down and get some work done or catch up with a friend. Since it was such a nice day, I decided to sit outside. My first sip immediately stood out because of the texture. It was probably the smoothest coffee I've ever had; silky, creamy, and almost pillowy on the tongue. Unfortunately, that's where most of my praise ends. The coffee itself tasted fine, but nothing about the flavor stood out, especially considering the price. I ordered a vanilla latte, but I couldn't taste any vanilla at all and got virtually no sweetness from the drink. Overall, it's not bad coffee by any means, and the texture was genuinely impressive. But for nearly $9, I expected a lot more flavor. I don't regret trying it, but I wouldn't come back at that price point.

The line moved quickly and they gave you a number after so that you don't have to stand waiting by the counter. They bring your drinks and items out to you while you find a place to sit and wait. I had never seen that before and I really appreciated it. Their menu has upgraded since the last time I came, it's now on two large TV screens that help you read before it's your turn at the counter. They also have a sandwich board with seasonal drinks for those that are looking for something sweeter or with different flavors. I had the Banana Cabana which was my first banana coffee drink ever during this time where they seem to be popping up everywhere. My immediate reaction was that the banana flavoring is not for me. It was still drinkable though, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I don't fault them at all, it was an experimental choice on my part. Next time I will just stick with adding my own flavors to an iced latte. Plenty of seating and despite being crowded, there was a relatively low noise level. They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too. There's a lot of seating, but it's usually taken up, so I tend to just take my coffee to go. Expect to walk out for around $6ish a cup. They clearly care about providing you a good experience with a strong cup of coffee. Give them a shot if you're in downtown Overland Park!
