Walking in to Lancers feels like a step back in time, with the red cushion booths and diner counter. They have a vast menu, and serve breakfast all day (can't wait to try the next time I go!). The meal was good, though charging $1.50 for a single deli pickle is a bit insane when you get a bunch for free with your meal if you go to Brent's. I was full off of half my sandwich and took the rest to go, but they don't have single serve condiment packets which I thought was odd. The servers were very nice about this and provided me with a small sauce cup for me to fill instead. Though I enjoyed the food, I do have to say that the milkshake was lacking for a deli/diner expectation. It tasted like semi-thick but mostly thin chocolate milk and was not worth it for the price. Overall, I look forward to returning for more sandwiches and to try their breakfast! I also want to go to their bar!

I can't remember the first time I saw Lancers, easily over 3 decades ago, but I never tried it until recently. Solid, coffee shop with friendly, attentive service and large, family friendly menu. Even and "old fashion" dessert case with revolving goodies! The first thing I notice on approach was the side door entry directly to the lounge. It reminded me of back when Denny's had a lounge, but those were all removed by the time I came of legal drinking age. LOL Lancers also has a lounge and it was tempting to pop in for a mid afternoon adult libation, but we had no time to languish over 3 martinis lunches, so into the main dining area we went. We were greeted and sat in a booth immediately and a gentleman came to ask us what drinks he could get us started with. Then our server arrived and introduced himself, pointed out the lunch specials and gave us a few minutes to decide. I opted for the Chef Salad and Hubs went for the ham steak breakfast with pancakes. My salad was cold, crisp and delicious, served with a slice of fresh bread. Yum! It was a very large salad, so I knew as soon as it was placed before me, half of this bad boy would be dinner. Hubs breakfast was also good. He couldn't finish all his pancakes, so I graciously offered my assistance. Now, my fave pancakes are more cake-y dense than anything, but these weren't bad at'll. Fluffy and light with a hint of sweetness. We didn't have room for dessert, but a glance through the rotating display told me it wouldn't be a bad idea to pop in just for coffee and pie sometime. There's LOADS of free parking in their vast lot and I look forward to returning far sooner than all the previous decade of my passing by had allowed. Def going to try a dessert next time. Cheers! Lancers is the place you have driven by for years and wondered what it was all about. Well, I am here to tell you that Lancers is an old-school diner with a nostalgic feel. There is plenty of seats and plenty of parking. The menu is not really considered cheap, but it is not expensive either. Most everything is closer to $20.00 a plate. We stopped in for breakfast and I ordered the French toast with bacon and eggs for $17.99. My guy had ham and eggs with toast. Portions were decent and everything was just okay. There was nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner and seem to cater more toward older folks and families looking for a simple diner experience. Plenty of parking, which is a plus. Overall, it was fine for a casual meal but not something I'd go out of my way for. Next time I will order a burger.

Stopped by here recently for the first time in several years, and was surprised by how much I loved it! Lancers shares a lot with several other stores and when I went for dinner, there was plenty of parking. The menu was quite large, and they have daily dinner specials. I considered getting the prime rib special but landed on the meatloaf dinner. The dinner came with soup or salad, a potato dish, the daily vegetable, and a slice of bread. There was so much food! Everything tasted pretty average, but you're not going to a family restaurant for bib gourmand food anyways. I thought the price was great for the amount of food that was given, and I had some leftovers at the end of my meal. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and all of the workers seemed to be getting along with each other, which always feels good to see at a workplace. Definitely going to return to try some of their other stuff!

We went to Lancer in Burbank for a family lunch on Thanksgiving Day which was yesterday. (11/27/2025). My brother especially wanted to come here, so we visited, and we all enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Prime Rib Thanksgiving special, my brother had the Turkey plate, and my mom ordered an omelette. Everything tasted good. The Thanksgiving specials came out like a course meal -- you could choose either soup or salad to start, and for dessert, you could pick between pecan pie or pumpkin pie. But, they didn't have pecan pie yesterday, so I had the pumpkin pie, and it was very soft and delicious. One thing -- the service was friendly and kind, but when I ordered my prime rib medium well-done, it came out medium rare, which surprised me. I asked them to cook it a bit more, but even after that, it still had a noticeable red center, so I requested one more re-cook. Sometimes when I say "medium well," people think I said "medium rare," so I made sure to say "medium well-done," but it still came out rare at first, which was a bit frustrating. However, the staff handled everything kindly and professionally, and they recooked it twice. They kept checking to see if we needed anything, even though the restaurant was extremely busy and packed with people yesterday. The portions here are generous, and this place has been a nostalgic spot for our family for years. We hadn't been back for almost 10 years, so it felt special to visit again.

Originally opened as Pages restaurant in 1962, Lancers became the name of this family restaurant in 1969. Since then, it became an important piece of the food scene that now included a lounge. I had been going there for quite some time, and in general I thought the food wasn't bad. Service is, in general, very friendly, and the place is, in general, quite clean. Nevertheless, after today's lunch with a friend of mine, I decided to pass on going there. My friend and I met there for lunch. She had a burger with onion rings, and I had one of my favourites, Liver and onions, and veggies with mashed potatoes and gravy ( without the onions). But today I just finally realized it's time for me to move on. The last time I was there, when I had eggs Benedict, they were quite bad, and the waiter got on my wrong side by slamming the bill on our table when we barely finished. And it wasn't very busy there. Jesus Christ stop being so pushy. It felt like, "yeah, you guys ate now get the hell out of here". Today, my friend liked her food, but mine was the liver dish. One of the worst I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were almost cold, the carrots so overcooked that they would have been perfect as baby food. And the liver, tasteless and hard, and that for 19-some Dollars. That's it, I think I spend my money where the food is worth the money, and I, as a customer, won't feel that much pressure to pay and go.

We were out shopping at lobby hobby and thought.Let's just stop here.My friend had never been to lancers before, and I love their food.It gives you a down home comfort vibe. It's always nice and clean.The staff are very customer service oriented.Sometimes it tends to get extremely busy.They also have a bar with a happy hour.So that makes it super nice.The food you just have to come and check it out.And judge for yourself, but it is delicious

Been coming here since I was a kid and it has gone from what some would call a greasy spoon restaurant to a better restaurant in my opinion. The plates are usually pretty large and you get plenty of food. It's all pretty basic and tastes the way you would expect it to. Service is usually quick and everyone is pretty nice. It can get fairly loud at times especially at the busy times on the weekends. My favorite thing to order is anything with their steak fries, which seem to be getting harder to find.

Lancers has such large and extremely delicious appetizers and meals with such a huge variety! Our waiter was super knowledgeable and kind! And the booths were comfortable. We will visit this restaurant many more times!

I have heard good things about Lancers but hadn't been. Roomy booths. A genuine old time diner with friendly service and a lot of options. Strong coffee! I had the Belgian waffle (perfection) and my son had a tuna melt. He took half home as it was definitely a big sandwich and came with steak fries! Divine! We will be back.

One of the worst lunches I have ever experienced. Food was burned on the outside and pretty much raw inside....like it was just reheated. After getting it cooked right.....it acted like a laxative. I did not get more than a mile from the place. I know it's just a coffee shop, but at least try and serve edible food. You're charging for it. read more

We were consistent customers years ago when management and servers were great but ownership changed and they made physical changes to the booths, lights and food! . When we rarely have been back, bad experiences with the bus boy serving milk in a dirty glass, delayed service and so so food!!!!! Better choice to eat is the Coral Cafe and Denny's, way better choices! read more

Went with family party of 10 Sunday afternoon. When I walked in there was around 3/4 customers having dinner. I asked if they could accommodate for the large party . They gave us a table in the back. Thing started to go south . Young server who was getting our drinking kept on forget to bring 2 drinking we were missing. IT TOOK 30min to take our order!! Not the waitresses she seemed the only one running around . Don't know how they run things but they had two other employees just standing around talking and bagging mobile orders instead of helping her out... FOOD was decent and big portions .. But not sure i recommend this place for large parties. read more

This place over charges for everything and everything is at a extra cost. My wife ordered the waffles with fresh strawberries instead of of the strawberries puree. When we got the bill they charged us $9.99 for the waffle and $10.99 for fresh strawberries, so a a total cost of $21.00 for a single waffle with fresh strawberries. The food was mediocre at best at high prices. read more

Our server was very nice and helpful. They don't have a Senior menu or discount. My husband and I had breakfast and the breakfast meals are large, there's no small portions. I ordered the vegetable omelet and it was more like scrambled eggs with vegetables all cooked together. I'm used to the standard fluffy omelet that the veggies are folded inside the eggs. It wasn't as good as I had anticipated. My husband just wanted a sausage egg biscuit and hash browns which aren't available so he ordered a regular size breakfast. We had never eaten there before so we didn't know what to expect. We had just come from a Doctors appointment for a Breathing and Walking test for my husband and we hadn't eaten breakfast. Maybe we'll try it again and be more prepared as to what to expect. read more

This was my first and last time eating here. It always seemed so busy whenever I visited this shopping center. I asked the waitress for directions to the bathroom. I SHOULD have been very explicit that I was returning to finish my meal. I thought by moving all my plates to the furthest point on the table near the window, that would suffice. When I returned the majority of my food was cleared away. I returned to my table to only see the plates of eggs and bacon. My other plates thrown away. Still filled with 3/4 of my sourdough toast. Apparently, THE LAST OF THE LOAF and my pancakes. Another pancake was made for me along with profuse apologies from the person bussing the tables and my waitress. I began to eat my baked potato and noticed that the bacon bits had shifted around the plates. I pushed the plate to the front of the table refusing to eat any of it because I don't know what may have been touched by the person clearing my table. I have to wonder if this would have happened to me if I was Caucasian. I am not. I am an Asian American woman who was just trying to enjoy some breakfast for dinner. I won't patronize this establishment again. Their restrooms are also filthy and soiled. What sucks most was I was really looking forward to enjoying my meal. Happy effing birthday to me. read more

First time here. A passenger recommended this place. Place has outdoor dining and a bar which is cool. Plenty of parking. Menu is a huge selection. I got the Lance a special which includes coffee & OJ. Staff very friendly. Bathrooms very clean. Love the diner vibe. Orange juice is freshly squeezed and highly recommend. Coffee I got decaf. Hours are 7 am to 11 pm everyday. Hashbrowns eggs and toast. Hot food was so good. Thanks for outstanding service as well. read more

Okay so since stepping foot into this place (we had seen it so many times and wanted to check it out!) we just can't get enough. The menu is EXTENSIVE! breakfast ALL day! It's got nice interior - giving you an updated diner feel. The servers are all super nice and a lot of them will make you chuckle with their epic sense of humor. My partner and I joke that we're going to try everything on the menu but I'm not sure it's a joke anymore. My faves: extraordinary French toast, machaca superb, ONION RINGS (!!!), the Reuben sandwich. All of these are drool worthy. I'm typically "one of those" taking meal photos so it says a lot that every single time we've gone to Lancers we dive into the food so fast there are no photos to be had. read more

Really disappointed in this place my food was cold and you can tell they rushed to cook it cause my food was under cooked so was my husbands my daughters pancake had a hair in it . It was just not good The only reason we didn't say anything is because the wait staff is really nice. With how expensive things are right now going out as a family is such a treat i honestly regret the money I spent here . I don't think I'll be going back . read more

Just started going to Lancers after years of living in the area. Totally forgot about them. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Only complaints are: too much food that goes to waste if not eaten. Would love to see a senior menu for those of us on a fixed budget. Lower the price a little and serve less food. That way it helps the senior, and doesn't waste the food to the garbage. The chicken tortilla soup is wonderful. A little pricey for a cup, but taste is wonderful. Croissant club....WAY too big, but very tasty. Meatloaf very good (It's not Grandma's or Mom's, but it's good). Barbecue beef ribs fall off the bone. Staff very accommodating and pleasant. Senior discount available, but only 5%. To my knowledge, no other discounts available. Overall, our new go-to for dinner. read more

Seriously the worst experience my wife and I had. The service was horrible. The cashier was so rude. Didn't even acknowledge us or thank us when I paid. Ordered Eggs Benedict and they put a huge thick slice of ham steak and lathered it with a disgusting hollandaise sauce. 2 people for breakfast for $52 dollars!!!! Never again. read more

POOR QUALITY OF FOOD. I ORDERED 8 TIMES TO HAVE ITEMS MISSING OR INCORRECT EACH OF THOSE 8 TIMES. CALLED 6 TIMES OVER THE CORSE OF 2 WEEKS AND THE OWNER WAS NEVER AVAILABLE. AND NOW THIS.... I call to have them add 2 drinks onto my delivery order. I talked to Peaches who tells me that I have to go back online to place a separate order and that she'll add to my order. I go back onto their website and absolutely NO drinks are listed - Not as of January 13, 2024. This place has NO drinks listed on their website. So I call back and now she sounds sleepy, as if she about to fall out right there on the phone - can't be sure but she acts and responds as if she slightly inebriated or high as all hell. But maybe she's just that incompetent cause she damn sure signifies that she absolutely has no care in the world about me, this order, nor much else. I tell her that there are no sodas listed on their website and she tells me, "I wouldn't know nothin about that." So I ask for a manager and she tells me they left - says it's slow so they already left -- at 8:30pm? AND they leave and leave someone this weak, this unknowing of simple procedure, this incompetent! They leave this kind of irresponsible, unsympathetic child to this person's business in charge - someone who can't even service a simple request - just one order with a total of two dinner items!?? So that's it for me. I spend quite a lot for this to happen, especially when the quality of food is so poor and certainly NOT worth the trouble. Whoever took the wonderful Veal Cutlet off the menu deserves punishment for that decision. Of all the good things I remember from childhood this veal cutlet was EXACTLY the same, and you just cannot find it anywhere else, and now not here either. It saddened me beyond what one would expect... almost shamefully so, that I might be mourning the loss of my youth underneath this gastronomic drama. Walked in at 220 and placed an order to go for 1 ham dinner. 40 mins later I asked for my food or a refund. The manager came over and said someone must have taken my food and gave me a refund. No one took my food. They were unorganized. I went to tallyrand and ordered the same food and had within 10 minutes so now you know which restaurant to go to for holiday dinners. Yummy diner food at its best. Steak fries, a pie case , counter service plus an extensive menu. Breakfast is available until close (9 pm) I had a Patty melt . Served traditional on Rye w steak fries and a basic iceberg salad to start. My partner had the club. Really good food promptly served with very nice service and great prices. I've been going to this place for years and I have to say has changed a lot. Went to have a good lunch with my family (3 people) the tables were empty and our food took forever and on top of that was cold when got to the table, ordered a chorizo con huevo plate and had no flavor! It was time to pay and noticed a 20% gratuity was added to my check but that is not all.... I paid someone else's check!!! I asked the guy wearing hugh rings why the tip was included if we were only 3 people.. isn't the tip up to the customer?? Anyhow, a lady came and told me that there was a mistake a I had paid another table's check and had to cancel everything. So the wife and I decided to come into this location yesterday. We walked into the lounge side, sat at the bar and we were greeted by Melissa, she was fast friendly and make some great food recommendations. The food was amazing we cannot wait to try more things on the menu. The evening bartender Kiri was awesome as well. We also got to play music and just had an amazing time. After Sunday mass some parishioners and I went to Lancer's for lunch. We were a party of 5 and 3 separate checks. My check (for 2) was $45 but the waiter added a $10.24 tip making my bill $55.24. I disputed this at the register and the cashier said she could not change it. I told the waiter I would not give him a $10 tip but $5 maximum. He removed the tip after a lot of haggling with both him and the cashier and the cashier accused me of trying to get away free. My wife and I have been customers of Lancers for more than 54 years and will not return until this very rude cashier is gone. Beware! Lancer's new generation of servers will cheat you. read more

We couldn't be happier with the new ownership of Lancers. So friendly! Stuart greets us at our table every time we eat there. He really cares about his customers. Thank goodness he took over he is giving the place an amazing makeover. It went from falling apart to fabulous!! The portions are even larger and the menu hasn't changed a bit. You can still get all your favorites. I suggest the pancakes, the best in town. The tortillas soup is so delicious. The Omelettes are huge. The menu is so vast there's something for everyone. We have been coming here for years and always enjoyed the food and service. However, we were there a few days ago and had no real complaints with the food or service, I've never seen the place look so dirty. A table near us was never cleared of dirty dishes and I had an insect visitor crawling on the floor that I had to chase away several times. I'm not sure how our server didn't see the insect visitor but I suspect there are more we didn't see. I'd hate to see a Burbank institution go away but it's obvious that it is suffering from neglect. read more

Date night ended here with a nice cup of coffee. Things were happening and pretty busy but the service did not show it. The staff was attentive and friendly. I had passed by this restaurant before but had never been curious enough to actually stop in. This time their drink menu advertised outside caught my attention so I figured "hey, why not?" From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. My drink was also incredible. It was refreshing, especially with how hot the day was, and had just the right amount of alcohol. The presentation was so cute I almost felt bad ruining it. Easily one of the best drinks I've had in the Burbank area -- 5/5. The carne asada taco wasn't as impressive as the potato taquitos, so I'd give that a 3/5. The chile toreado was definitely spicy, it just needed to be salted a little more but otherwise no complaints! I need to remind myself not to be too quick to judge because I was genuinely surprised by this place. The décor wasn't fully my personal style, but the food and drinks more than made up for it. Do u want guacamole too?" Again reiterating , " whatever comes with the table pls". I was left perplexed given that last i was here i didnt have to ask for the chips and salsa, they automatically came when they brought the water. And if there was a change in policy they should state it somewhere within the restaurant so there is no confusion among guests. The place was 98% empty. There shouldn't have been any reason for such an experience. We ordered probably $180+ worth of food and drinks. And after the long wait for the drinks and chips and salsa, I told the other server and what im assuming is the manager(?) "You know, im just going to cancel my order" They were talking among eachother, and I told them "we are leaving because of the server" . They tried to remedy it by saying that a certain other server can take over the table instead of him. I just couldnt stay there any longer. The place was insanely empty and there shouldnt have been no reason to not be attended to properly. Probably 40 minutes in total and we only received our waters to the table.

The booths are comfortable, the booze selection is ample, and there are a whole bunch of TV's for watching games. Our server, Chelsea, was a very good egg; funny and very helpful with suggestions re the menu and various drinks. She checked on us repeatedly, and made sure we had all we needed. My wife ordered a Gummy Bear Shot that was tart and sweet and very enjoyable. On the food side, the menu is filled with the greatest hits of casual, sports bar foods, but all kicked up several notches and more interesting than the usual. My wife ordered the Truffle Burger, replete with onions and mushrooms and cheese. The trappings were all very tasty, and the burger itself was packed with flavor, and came cooked to a very proper medium rare. The side of lemon-pepper fries were hand cut and crispy, though the citrusy tang wasn't my thing. A tad less successful was my Pastrami Sandwich. The meat, listed as house-made, had good flavor but was tough. The kale slaw with it also had good flavor, and the slight bitterness was a nice foil for the rich pastrami. Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with a good menu and a really welcoming staff. I'd go back in a heartbeat to try the wings and pizza, both of which looked excellent when delivered to neighboring tables.

The live music on Tuesday and Thursday evenings is a great touch and adds a really nice vibe without being overwhelming. It makes the space feel lively and inviting. When we arrived at Lancers there was huge wait list so perhaps there is something about this place that I am not getting but I'm pretty sure it is one of the grossest places I have ever been to. My first impression when I walked in was that it smelled like a dirty emergency room. The smell of medication and rubbing alcohol was overwhelming. I wanted to leave immediately but the people I was with told me to hang in there because they were too lazy to go someplace else. After a long wait, we were all stuffed into a booth that hadn't been cleaned in years. The menu was old school coffee shop, which is okay because I love breakfast food, but it wasn't good at all. It is almost impossible to mess up breakfast food but they managed. The service was horrible, the waitress forgot our pancakes and everyone's toast. We thought she was going to come back with it at first but she didn't, she seriously just neglected to bring out all of our order. I understand it was busy but still, get it together, and getting her attention was like flagging down a spaceship! We finally had to ask a busboy to get her for us, and she still took her sweet time to get to our table. When she finally came to the table, and we told her what she forgot, she asked us if we still wanted it?! Really? Wouldn't that be why we were asking for it? Finally, she ran off to get it but she returned with toast that was burnt yet cold, and pancakes that were cold and heavy like wet down pillows, the rest of the food was flavorless. The smell of illness and alcohol never went away, it just hung in the air and revolted all of us. In addition to the booth being dirty, the majority of the flatware was dirty, we had to wipe it all off with our napkins. OH, AND I ALMOST FORGOT, when my friend poured water out of her teapot wet oatmeal came out of the spout, WHAT?!!!!! My friends and I enjoy going to old school divey type restaurants and bars so I feel I am far more open to a place that is a little run down and funky but honestly, our entire Lancers experience was disgusting. I will never go there again, I strongly suggest that you avoid this establishment at all costs!!! read more

New owners with no idea what the words," Customer Service," mean. No real specials: Just food on a so-called specials list that is priced the exact same amount as the food on the regular menu. Burger overcooked and the cheese wasn't melted onto the burger. Drinks overpriced by $2.00 each as per the rate at other Burbank locations. Bartender over pours on the drinks. When we realized that he over pours we only had one drink each. Two drinks at a fair price would have made the place more money Bartender poorly trained in mixing drinks. Bartender was not properly trained on the Lottery Machine so he cost us an extra $4.00. Bartender was rude when he pretended that he did it right as we had requested. Judging by the bartender's behavior he appeared to be one of the owner's family members. Bartender appears to be underage. He may have no ability to communicate in a polite manner to customers. Manager of the restaurant told me that she is the owner's daughter. She has had no training that qualifies her as per her attitude. When mistake(s) were brought to the attention of the manager I felt that I was wasting my time talking to her. There is no longer a cash register at the bar,[which we didn't notice at first or we would have taken our own check up to the register in front ourselves.] Bartender took our credit card to the front of the restaurant and took over 15 minutes with the card out of our sight. When I confronted him as to my concern in re the time frame that the card was out of our sight, he responded to me in an obnoxious manner. read more

For the price, this place has to be the very best as far as Breakfast food in this Dinosaur city of B-bank. The eggs are twice the size of any Denny's or Carrows or Coco's, the pancakes are unbelievably good, twice the size and triple the taste of anything the putrid IHOP has ever served. The service is top rate. If you need the caffeine fix like most of us do and you really can put it down, you can have 5 cups before your food is served. The speed the food is served is excellent as well. If you have a problem with old people stay away, like a lot of these posts have mentioned there is definitely an local element and most are over 60 but I don't mind because they are far better then having 4 and 5 year olds climbing all over the booths trying to get your attention. The waitress's are cute and the food is great. If you need a screwdriver or a bloody Mary they are there for the taking and the New York Strip and eggs rivals PDC any day of the year. read more

I ordered the fried chicken and originally I wanted the kids meal since it was less food and cheaper and also I cant eat too much since I have chronic stomach problems. We put in our orders and the server said that you have to be under 10 to eat the kids meal. WTF??? im just saving more food for the environment and they wont let me. So I ordered the original adult sized fried chicken. Listen, if you like oily food, this shit is for you. The chicken itself was a solid 8/10 but it was so damn oily and since I have the previously stated stomach problem, Ive had heartburn for 2 days now. Also theres so many old people there it felt like I was eating in a retirement home and my life flashed before my eyes. Lancer's has been my favorite for a very long time for the Friday night PRIME RIB SPECIAL! (I remember when it was $9.99, yo). Now it's $17.99 with salad, soup (I love the overflowing cup of Tortilla Soup!), the entree plus two sides and a dessert. The iced tea is supreme (tastes like real tea and everything - do you have any idea how hard that's getting to find?!) Everyone is nice at Lancer's, but I feel like there are several people there (hostess, bus boys, servers, etc.) that really go above and beyond to try and make you comfortable. And if you go to Lancer's on a regular basis (as countless numbers do), then you just might end up with some new friends. (Over the holidays, I saw people coming in - not to eat a meal - but to give their favorite server(s) cards and gifts. It's just that kind of place.) read more

We were excited to visit this classic restaurant with so much history behind it--but unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. While the atmosphere has charm and a few of the staff (like the busboy and the person refilling water) were attentive and friendly, our server was noticeably rude, which cast a shadow over the entire meal. For a large group, a 20% gratuity was automatically added--which is understandable--but felt undeserved given the service we received. As for the food: disappointing. The steak was tough and overcooked, and most dishes were bland, especially considering the price point. This place is awesome. This is a great breakfast. The service is pretty good. It gets filled up pretty quickly because the food is actually good. Even during the pandemic these people were one of the first ones that made it quick for them to eat outside. Doesn't matter what you get from here. Seems pretty damn tasty. I used to go there for either of the Lancers breakfast special or the lumberjack. I guess their pancakes are good. I've also tried their chicken fried steak and eggs that was actually good to. I've only had a California omelette a few times and that's good. There's a kids menu here, so if you have kids is a good spot, bring them just be patient if it's busy read more

I visited Lancers recently and found the interior to be clean and charming. We were seated promptly, but my $8 Bloody Mary lacked flavor even after adding salt and pepper. My boyfriend's coffee tasted odd, and his orange juice seemed more suited for a child. The turkey croissant sandwich, however, was generously filled and tasty. The fries needed salt and the pickle that came with my sandwich was strangely not zesty like usual pickles. I'm a big fan of diners and the cozy comfort food they offer, and Lancers checks all the boxes. They serve a robust daily special that includes both soup AND salad--a great deal! On Tuesday, the special was Red Snapper, and the portion size was impressively large. The staff were super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. One thing to note: they close at 9 PM on Tuesdays, so it's not a spot for the late-night crowd. Overall, a swell diner experience! read more

I have been going here since I was a child and not much has changed, other then the food has gotten better. It is a great place to go with the family or friends just to have a good down home meal. the staff is always friendly and the atmosphere feels like home. They also have a great bar where you can sneak away and grab a drink while out with the family. If you are looking for childhood memories and good food I highly recommend you have dinner here one night. read more

"If there are a lot of old folks in a restaurant, its probably cheap, good food and serves large portions" It's not gourmet food but it's average enough to merit repeat visits. I find the food a bit bland for my taste but the chicken breast & cheddar sandwich are pretty good. I think the service was exceptional- quick and friendly. I have been to Lancer's a few times under new managment. This time I have to say, never order the pastrami sandwich. My friend had a club sandwich...should have ordered that. The pastrami was a little lite and the meat was old. They served me the dried out ends. Just not worth the price. We should have gone to the HAT in Monterey Park. I was so glad to have found Lancers - it's a great, family restaurant to take my parents to. They have a varied menu (pretty much every classic American staple is on it) and the food is executed well. The decor is no frills but the staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. We've gone for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have yet to be disappointed. read more
