I've been to this restaurant twice and both times it was delicious! The restaurant has enough space to accommodate groups too. This last time we ate outside. It is covered so the sun isn't beaming down on your head. The bar is open to the patio too. So far I've tried the Chaufa (highly recommend; I prefer the seafood one) and the Lomo Saltado! The portions for both are pretty good! Both times I took leftovers home. My favorite appetizer is Yucca Frita!! Yumm!! The servers are also very polite and attentive.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER | after years of driving past Las Brasas time and time again, we finally got a small group together to try some chicken from Las Brasas! There was plenty of indoor seating when we arrived but I had brought the pup so we hoped to sit outside. Unfortunately, they had just opened their patio up at the time so seating was limited. We had to wait a bit but we were able to order some cocktails while we waited - aka a Pisco Sour, Love from Peru and Chicha Chilcano. My personal favorite was the Pisco Sour but the other two were also quite lovely to drink and to photograph. We were off to a good start with the Pantacones and the Calamari, Shrimp & Aji Pepper Frito. The Lomo Saltado (with linguine noodles) was what I was looking forward to the most but unfortunately was a little salty. But otherwise, flavor was great. The half Pollo Frito was fried TO PERFECTION - super crispy skin and juicy dark meat. However, the seasoning was a little light. The chaufa (house) was also pretty tasty but a little on the salty side. Overall, drinks were on point and our apps were perfect. The seasoning on our entrees could have been a little more refined but overall I really enjoyed the flavors. Hopefully it was just a busy day fluke because I would love to come back in again soon to try some other dishes!

Been a few years since I visited and they have redesigned the interior. Now don't come at me for my opinion as I never try to knock a place down. I give my thought on how I felt with the place & the service. The redesign is personally not to my liking feels a bit cold and the tables/chairs are just simple. Unfortunately I was seated on the tables for 2 that are right next to 3 other tables and you can hear everything being said. 2 tables to my left was a very obnoxiously loud guest. That when a father and minor child sat next to us they got up and relocated as the lady was having "adult content" conversation rather loudly he didn't want to remain there. Idk why I apologized for the lady becuz it was rather annoying. Any who. The reason for the review is the service & food. I go for my staple plate of lomo saltado, Inca & cancha & that didn't disappoint!! My husband got the salmon & he had expected more flavor overall on the dish so he wasn't a happy camper. Order came out correctly but felt the server was a bit lacking on making you feel welcome. I felt as though it was just another table he had to get thru rather quickly. 1 lady in black idk if she was a Mgr or owner she kept tending attention to the obnoxious lady so idk what was up with that. I wud return for my dish but that's about it- didn't feel anything really special about driving 1hr out of my way for dinner

We came here on a Sunday evening and were seated quickly. There are plenty of tables and one sided booth seatings. There is also a bar and a cute patio or outdoor seating. For a group of 5, we ordered a Whole Pollo A La Brasa, House Fries, Calamari & Shrimp Frito, Elotes , and Grilled Asparagus. My favorite of the night was the Pollo A La Brasa. It was my first time having Peruvian chicken, and I was excited to try as I've had recommendations recently. And my expectations were met. It was well seasoned and the chicken was tender & juicy. I will definitely be going to get Peruvian chicken more often. Also a special highlight to the Grilled Asparagus. It honestly is the top 3 asparagus dishes I've ever had. It was soft with the right amount of crunch, and I'm not sure how they seasoned them, but they were so addicting. They could be a little more generous with the asparagus portion. Service was attentive and friendly as we called them over quite often. The food also came out at a good amount of time. They also gave us some roasted Peruvian corn to snack on. These were SO good, it's like a different version of popcorn. My only point of improvement is the ambiance of the restaurant. The decor is fine, but I think the bright white lighting can be a bit too harsh. Switching to warmer lights would bring the restaurant's feel to the next level. Parking isn't an issue here, there is a shared parking lot with McDonald's.

While searching for the best fried chicken in town, I would've never thought that I'd find it at a Peruvian restaurant! Las Brasas is an institution in Decatur, serving massive portions at affordable prices. My partner and I ordered arroz chaufa, elote, and a half portion of fried chicken to share. The elote was creamy, salty, and very sour, probably from the Tajin and lime put on it-- but solid! The arroz chaufa was humongous, with enough portions to feed us for five nights-- tasty, too, and the sauce that went with it had a surprisingly-potent kick! Star of the show, however, was the Peruvian fried chicken ("pollo frito"). We got the half portion (which was the smallest amount), yet it was still massive with two thighs and a wing. I'll be honest and say that, while one of the thighs was perfect (tender, juicy, crispy), the other thigh was dry. Sadly, a bit inconsistent, but I still enjoyed most of the chicken and I especially loved the crackling outer skin. I think the chefs also sprinkled Tajin on top, which added an extra pop of flavor to an already-flavorful chicken. Be aware that service can be really slow and a little standoffish-- we spent over an hour at the restaurant, but to be honest, this is a place to take your time and enjoy the meal presented to you. Las Brasas is a great staple to the Decatur community, and I would return for more!

Wow! My gf brought me here to get authentic Peruvian food, and it did not miss! The portions were so large, that we were able to take some for lunch the next day. We had the rotisserie chicken family style that comes with a large salad, fries, chicken and a few sauces. Oh, and don't miss out on the lamb empanadas! Literally the best I've ever had in my life, and I travel a lot. We will try the fried chicken on our next cheat day! 8.9/10

We came on a Saturday evening, it wasn't too crowded but the ambiance was lively. I really enjoyed my chicken and the potato salad. I found the yuca fries to be underwhelming for its price. I have heard wonderful things about this place and finally got to try out for my late birthday celebration with the family. We came here on a Monday night dinner and the place had a lot of people for it being Monday. There was also a group of 10 of us so seating us was a bit complicated. While they sat us at the corner, we needed another table to completely sit us, so we had to wait for the couple sitting next to us to finish eating so that our group could be seated together. The nice couple did offer to give up their table and move elsewhere in the restaurant but we denied their offer so they could finish their meal. Service was a bit slow (it was so slow that one of the chefs ended up brining out food to our table), but the food made up for it. Our group ordered the fried calamari (small pieces of calamari fried to perfection), lamb empanada (super tasty ground lamb with flaky crust), yucca fries (need I say more - this slaps especially the sauce), and elote to start. We also ordered the rotisserie chicken with a side of quinoa and pesto pasta. The rotisserie chicken was served whole with TONS of French fries and a delicious salad. The quinoa was so good and light and honestly paired well with the salad for added fiber. The pesto pasta was okay and didn't really care for it. This place is something I would crave and so glad it's not super far from me. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the dishes here.

Las Brasas is a great restaurant for any kind of evening in Decatur. Their rotisserie chicken is absolutely delicious and comes with a great sauce. The ceviche pescado is some of the best I have ever had. It is so flavorful and fresh every time. The lomo saltado is also great. The meat is always very tender. I highly recommend visiting Las Brasas for some great Peruvian food. read more

I had the pleasure of eating at Las Brasas this past weekend. Having never eaten Peruvian food, I didn't know what to expect, but I had a good feeling about it. Walking up to the front door, my good feeling was confirmed as I was met with the delicious smell of cooking meat. Everything we ordered was great. We had the Chaufa Pollo and the Lomo Anticucho. Both had so much flavor. For dessert we had the flan, which was also very good. Having moved to Atlanta from out of state, I've been more than disappointed with the food I've had here, but I knew that I was just trying the wrong places. Las Brasas gave me hope. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

WOW! I can't believe I've lived in the greater Decatur area for 4 years and I've never been here before. We stopped in for Sunday brunch since we saw that they had patio seating available (and there was only one other table being served at the time) and we are so glad that we did! We ordered their fried plantains, traditional roasted chicken, and French fries. The food was simple, but the most flavorful food that I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. The sauces definitely made the dishes even better (if that's even possible). The flavors added some wonderful complexity to whatever we dipped into them. We also tried their Lucuma cheesecake (which looked so delicious but I forgot to photograph it before diving right in). It tasted like a better version of pumpkin cheesecake, and had a strawberry compote on top. Definitely recommend. Also, our server was wonderful. Great food. Great vibe. This was my first visit. My husband and I LOVE to try out new (to us) places and different cuisine. Las Brasas fit the bill! We got our order to go. Starting with covid service, they are doing a great job at social distancing and cleanliness! Everything we ordered was AMAZING! Our order was: Papa Rellena Elotes Street Corn Pato Corazon Lomo We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was, even an hour after we picked up our order. I don't want to downplay ANY of the dishes we ordered....but we were MOST excited about the Papa Rellena. When we saw this on the menu, we KNEW we had to try them (and other dishes). The Papa Rellena did NOT disappoint! They are delicious by themselves, with pico, with the sauce (I think it is avocado cream), or with pico and the sauce. There was so much food, we both have plenty of leftovers to take to work. If you are looking for true to flavor Peruvian food, you MUST come here! This will not be our last visit to Las Brasas. Best dish on the menu by far is the lomo saltado. Papas ala huancaina are pretty good too. My husband likes the chicken chaufa (it's a really big portion). Their chicken has a very unique seasoning--almost tastes like they use cinnamon or other spices that would normally be used on sweet baked food. Not my favorite but I know others do. Sangria has been on point every time. Peruvian ceviche is my fave with the sweet potato. For the price, I would say that their ceviche was middle of the road. read more

Oh... the Lomo. Filet so succulent and well spiced...it just melted in your mouth. The yukon potatoes were a treat compared to your average mashed or french. The sweet potato fries, with that sauce... yeah, I agree with the other Yelper that wanted to put it on everything. Definitely going to be more adventurous when I order from them next time. This was my first visit...but it will not be my last!! read more

First came to Las Brasas during late night and I had no where else to eat! It definitely didn't disappoint. It is a nice place with good atmosphere. I really enjoyed interacting with the owner(?), who is a really nice guy and gave excellent service. I've seen the other reviews for some dishes, however I have not tried those yet. The one thing I always get here is the Chicken Chufa, which is an excellent value and great taste. It's basically like chicken fried rice, Peruvian style. There is copious amount of chicken and it's paired with this sauce I really like (though recently it has gotten spicer sadly). There is a lot of food and you're sure to have leftovers. It is a great value.I've always meant to try the drinks there, I've seen some individuals order it and they seem quite interesting. Nonetheless, I hope to try some of the other dishes here and update this review. Service as I alluded to earlier is great. The food comes out pretty timely and I've ordered take out from here (on the Yelp App) and it was quite speedy service. I will admit I have not tried other Peruvian institutions, but as I do I will update this review accordingly. Bottom line: come during a late night for some excellent filling food! read more

Love this spot. The roasted chicken and potato dish is amazing! Both the yellow sauce on the potato and the green sauce for the chicken are so good! Check my menu photo for the appropriate names of the dishes. 5 stars for excellent food, good service, and a pleasant experience. We got the lomo saltado and Arros Chaufa. The Lomo had too much flavor that overpowered the dish and too little the rice. The white rice that came with the food was bland. The Arros Chaufa was mostly rice and very little chicken. The ginger it's cooked with overpowered the dish. Being Peruvian, my expectations of the food is higher than others. Great atmosphere, lomo saltado was very good a lots of flavor. Rice was a little over cook. Too sticky. Pisco sour was excellent with the little design on top very well presented. Waitress was very helpful and recommended her favorite dish that turn out to be an excellent choice. It is important that employees can tell you for own experience what is good. Comparing this place to Viva Chicken in Charlotte: The sauces are not free and don't come with all entrees. The different sauces didn't taste as good as Viva Chicken's. The price is higher. I ordered a whole chicken which came with no sides or sauce. Weird. The fried rice was rather bland and greasy. I won't eat here again. If the food is not excellent quality, there is no reason to pay what is asked. read more

Two stars because our server was so sweet. I selected this restaurant as a birthday lunch for a family member because of all the good reviews. I made reservations, however, when I arrived I saw it wasn't really needed. We came right when it opened on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty. Based on all the reviews I was excited and thought the birthday person would be too, NOT the case. The inside was tired. Tables were sticky, cushions worn thin, and visible dirt/dust stuck to the sealing and light fixtures. That was the first thing the birthday guest noticed and I felt terrible. If it wasn't for having kids in our party, we probably would have left in search of a better option. Still I had high hopes for the food. After all, some of the most unsuspecting places have amazing food. Unfortunately, things didn't get better. There were five of us and everyone's food came out together except the birthday person. When it finally did show, she wasn't impressed with her vegetable fried rice. I had the pollo saltado and my partner had the lomo. For me it was a too salty, meat was dry, and it came out cold. My partner agreed it was salty, but he enjoyed the lomo. Kids had the chicken combo and didn't eat much besides the fries. Yuca fries were not a hit with any of us. I wouldn't recommend this place and definitely don't come here for a special occasion. read more

We have ordered from this place 4 times using Uber eats. We cannot get a bad order. Some of the best food we've had at all, much less delivered. The roasted chicken is amazing. Pantacones-amazing! I hate ceviche but we had ceviche mixto-amazing! Elotes-amazing! Asparagus-amazing! Lamb empanadas-amazing! I LOVE Las Brasas and I've never even been! New staple in our household. read more

The big white bartender lady with the glasses is rude. My partner didn't like her drink and when we asked to change it she said it was wasting alcohol ... she wasn't worried about wasting alcohol when she was taking down 3 free shots with her friends. First time in this lovely and small restaurant and we sat at the bar the staff was welcoming they didn't have host but the team work was very noticeable u can see the kitchen staff from the entrance guiding costumer when nobody is upfront which means there's someone to talk to at least. We didn't wait much to seat and nobody was checking temperature nor signs of social distancing as far as I saw but still we decided to stay with my friend. We were greeted by the Bartender as soon as we sat we took a few recommendations from him and we started ordering a few appetizers which mine was absolutely delicious it was called shrimp causa I loved it highly recommended. And then I order a tradicional drink from Peru called pisco sour I love sour drinks and this one was really good based on egg white. Then I ordered the lomo saltado as my supper but honestly this is why my star less it was not amazing to me it was somehow basic and definitely something I cook home in my daily basis. Came here on a Tuesday night and had a simple dinner of grilled chicken, ceviche and fried yucca. The ceviche flavor was good but the fish was kind of fishy. Chicken and the green sauce was amazing! Could not stop eating the chicken just super flavorful, soft and moist. My husband had been to Peru and said that the skin should be more crispy. Though this meal has inspired me to look for Peruvian chicken recipes. Last but the best is the yucca, it taste just like what I would get in Costa Rica, crispy on the outside and silky soft yucca on the inside. If you are around make sure you try it! read more

I came here with daughter for a nice Peruvian meal to remind me of home. There were few significant issues with the food and asked to speak with the manager Julio. He was incredibly rude and told us he didn't care about what we thought about our opinion. This, after we sent over 100 on our meal! As a Peruvian, this restaurant is an embarrassment. Duh-lish-US! Went there for a bday dinner. I came super early and was one of those obnoxious pp working on my laptop. Yet the waitress was gracious enough to ask me if I needed the wifi password. Their pisco sour? Kiss your fingertips good!I had the grilled octopus while I waited. It was as tender as the potatoes and soooo flavorful! We had the mixed ceviche and beef skewers for dinner which didn't disappoint. My only regret is not coming here sooner. I have passed this place many times on my way to DT Decatur. Fantastic meat/Latin grill place. They sell superb smoked meats (filet, chicken, heart, lamb...) and seafood (fish, octopus...). Their grilled rotisserie chicken is OFF THE CHART!!! Theus wine selection is tasty. Really "undersung" restaurant, small scale, BIG flavor and great mixed drinks too. Service is personal, food is SO fresh and home-style. For my entree I had the Lomo Saltado with a side of red beans and rice. The steak in the Lomo Saltado was extremely tender and the overall dish was rich in flavor. I wish there was more steak because of how good it was. Once dinner hours ended the restaurant turned into a dance floor with a DJ which we also enjoyed for a bit. I don't know why I don't come to this place more often. I've been in here a couple of times and every time I do I'm reminded "you really should come here more often." Cute little Peruvian place that's great for a date night (patio or inside), or just belly up to the bar for a Cerveza. I got the chicken fried rice (yeah, I know that's an Asian dish but they use roasted chicken, trust me it's good) and my date got the spicy fried chicken. I recently visited Las Brasas in Decatur and it was an exceptional dining experience! The food was simply amazing--every dish was flavorful and perfectly cooked.
