We had a reservation and arrived before the appointed time. We still had to wait another 35 - 40 mins. We waited seated at the bar and placed a drink order for two drinks. The bartender served us the wrong drinks which we had to correct. Once seated the service was so slow. We waited for another 30 mins to take our order. Food came out fairly quickly after. The server did not return during the meal to check on waters, drink refills, etc. After another hour we flagged down the server so we could finally pay and leave. For a place that charges an extensive amount for brunch/lunch, the overall service, food, drinks was just not it. The parking lot is tiny and street parking is limited like beach parking. There is a valet. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and the beach. That is what the big draw to this restaurant is. I would not recommend this place.
We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Las Brisas. This was a very special celebration, and the staff really went above and beyond to make the evening magical. Many thanks to Ricardo--- he was so patient and sweet with our large party, and even brought out a beautiful raspberry cheesecake slice to celebrate our new graduate! Las Brisas is iconic for its view of the ocean, and the sunset over the sparkling waves was spectacular. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious---- even though it was a full house, we received our orders very quickly. I was incredibly impressed at how smooth the operation was behind-the-scenes. This is a special-occassion restaurant. People come here expecting a truly special evening to celebrate life milestones, and Las Brisas exceeds those high expectations. The drinks: we ordered cadillac margaritas (one of which was mine----delicious!) pineapple piscos (one was nonalcoholic, to the delight of our younger guest), and a hot tea. The tea wasn't on the menu, but Ricardo very kindly brought out the teas from the morning brunch. Small touches like this really go a long way. Ricardo very graciously accommodated the small requests of a younger guest who cannot drink alcohol and a guest who likes to sip on English Breakfast over dinner, and it truly went a long way. The guacamole and chips were great. The order also comes with a red sauce and a salsa verde. All three dips were delicious, but I particularly liked the sour kick of the salsa verde with the fresh, hot chips. Our entrees were all excellent. I ordered the Seafood Cóctel, and it was a lovely interpretation of a classic shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Topped with beautiful, creamy avocado and two luscious shrimp tails, the dish was composed of chopped shrimp, crab, and avocado in a delightfully citrusy tomato-based sauce. It was plated with fresh tostaditas, but I loved the fresh seafood so much that I ate it with a spoon! Dessert was fantastic. We ordered two flans to share, but Ricardo brought out a beautiful berry cheesecake on the house to celebrate our graduate's special day. The dessert was delicious, but what we will remember most from our experience at Las Brisas was the service. Thank you so much, Las Brisas and Ricardo!
3.5 stars Las Brisas is a Mexican seafood restaurant located by the Pacific Ocean by Laguna Beach and Heisler Park. It's located in a really convenient area near downtown Laguna Beach making it a popular spot. They have a private parking lot and also metered parking in the area. They have different seating options like oceanfront indoor dining room, outdoor patio, booth seating, and bar seating. The calamari ($24) was good and I liked the tartar sauce. The seared tuna tostada ($25) was slightly spicy but it was just one piece which was personally not worth the price. The steak and eggs ($47) had nice charred flavors and I liked the two accompanying salsas. The ribeye steak & lobster enchiladas ($39) were decent and I preferred the red sauce. For drinks I got the pineapple pisco ($17) which was refreshing and a bit spirit forward. The food at the brunch was just okay, but I've heard better things about their weekday lunch so I might have to come back for that. At our table we had nice views of the water and there was a lot of bright natural light. It's really the highlight of the restaurant and the experience, and it's a good spot to both people watch and watch the sunset too.
Our 3rd time here. I ordered the scallops. In comparison to others in our party , my dish was paltry. It came with only 5 "baby" scallops, the Corn Casserole was very disappointing, more like can creamed corn mixed with a few garnishes not like a casserole that you would expect. Definitely not a good choice. The scallops were delicious but small and not a filling dish, especially with cost.
Came here for my graduation celebration and left pretty disappointed! The food here was sub-par and maybe would have been ok but the service wasn't that great either. Our server wasn't the friendliest nor the most attentive to our table Ordered the chilaquiles and this was one of the least flavorful versions of it I've had- there was no protein and not even any beans! It was pretty much isolated nachos with some sauce and avocado. The sauce was good but gets pretty underwhelming after you realize you're only eating nachos. The calamari was good but I wouldn't recommend the pozole verde- it was pretty much just soup The best item from our table was probably the squash quesadilla, but again, no protein inside. If you get that, I'd recommend adding something!
Every aspect of our experience was 5-stars! Gorgeous, unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. Delightful, personable service. Melt in your mouth food. Frank was efficient and helpful, and also incredibly personable and warm. He made great recommendations, ensured our coffee cups were full, and made our breakfast so enjoyable. The steak that comes with the steak & eggs was very tender and expertly prepared. The fried fingerling potatoes were amazingly good. Because we were little chatterboxes, Frank learned it was my daughter's birthday and brought out a beautiful slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce!
Whoever is part of the hiring staff must definitely be on something because who hired these people!!! TLDR: Amazing beach view, kind server doing his best, but overall disorganized service, long waits, and mediocre food. Great place for pictures -- maybe eat beforehand. First off, I genuinely felt bad for our server because he seemed overwhelmed and was taking the heat for issues that clearly went beyond one person. He stayed patient, respectful, and kind the entire time, which we appreciated. The manager, however, seemed more focused on shifting blame to the server and kitchen staff rather than acknowledging the obvious lack of communication and organization overall. When she went down to "check on us" it didn't seem like she wanted to speak to us and was kind of just walking around "waiting" to be flagged down. There were other several angry tables as well. To their credit, they did offer complimentary dessert and reduced our bill by about 50%, which we appreciated. Ambiance: Honestly, the best part of the experience and probably the only reason why they get 2 stars (and some for our kind server). Beautiful beach view and plenty of spots nearby to walk around and take cute pictures while waiting for your food... and waiting... and waiting. Service: We sat down and weren't offered water for quite a while. Our server was difficult to find throughout dinner, and we had to flag someone down multiple times just to place orders, get water, utensils, etc. I'm assuming he was stretched thin with too many tables. Some of us had no utensils or napkins and ended up improvising with appetizer forks and spoons from the oysters. One person finally received a fork after everyone else had already finished eating. Asking bussers for help was unfortunately pointless because they rarely came back. We were also told the general manager would come speak with us after our concerns were brought up, but that never happened. Food: Everything took an extremely long time to arrive, including drinks -- we actually canceled some because they took so long. Most dishes came out lukewarm or cold. The seafood risotto was bland, the "rare" ribeye came out medium-well and overly salty, and there were several order mix-ups. At one point, we received two orders of guac and salsa when we only ordered one. When we mentioned it, the busser casually said "it's okay" and left them on the table anyway. Thankfully our server later clarified we wouldn't be charged for the extra order.
Came here on a Saturday with family for the brunch and bottomless mimosas. It was a big group and our waiter tried his best to take our order. He was being a little rude but we didn't look too much into. We ordered a lot of food and we were there for a few hours. The older hispanic lady who was washing the dishes outside became super attentive and so fast. We had outdoor seating and the view we had for brunch was so beautiful.
Such a beautiful day in Laguna!!! What could be better than lunch on the beach at Las Brisas? Hubby bought me a $200 gift card for Christmas and this was our first opportunity to get away and use it. First drinks were selected. Hubby got a beer and I talked the server into a pomegranate martini. Axel was our server. He was great!! He made sure the martini came out perfectly. Just a dash of pomegranate, not too sweet. Delicious!!! We ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer and we were pleasantly surprised that it also came with a side of two salsas. I ordered chicken flautas and Hubby decided upon the local market blackened fish sandwich. We both really enjoyed our food. Perfect atmosphere, perfect view and weather and a nice and very attentive server Axel!!! Awesome way to spend a summer afternoon!!!
After visiting Laguna Beach for over 33 years, I finally decided to dine at Las Brisas--and it exceeded every expectation I had. I made a 2:00 PM reservation on a Wednesday and was seated immediately at a table with a breathtaking ocean view. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but what truly stood out was the overall dining experience. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and refreshingly genuine. Instead of steering us toward the most expensive items on the menu, he offered thoughtful recommendations based on quality and flavor--which I really appreciated. We ordered the lobster enchiladas and the shrimp tampiqueños, and both dishes were exceptional. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, but the highlight was easily the white wine garlic sauce on the tampiqueños--it was absolutely outstanding. To finish, we had the cheesecake, which was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. Between the stunning views, excellent service, and truly memorable food, Las Brisas has earned a new regular customer. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
Came here 05/07/2022. I came in a party of 4 around 7 PM for my mom's birthday. The setting is gorgeous and the service is attentive. The restaurant has valet parking; I think it was $10. I highly recommend sitting indoors as outdoors can get chilly and the outdoor patio seating is a little... lacking. The outdoor patio is directly adjacent to the parking lot and just feels cheap. The tables and chairs are wobbly and made of plastic. Let's talk about the food. Each table gets complimentary fresh hot chips, guacamole, red salsa, and green salsa. These were delicious and tasted even better because they were free. I can't believe they give out guacamole for free lol. We then got the shrimp and crab ceviche, beef carpaccio, and pork ribs for appetizers. The shrimp and crab ceviche was an 8/10. Lots of meat, very zesty, but also moderately pricey. Beef carpaccio was a 9/10. Heavily seasoned with pepper and spices, every bite was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Pork ribs 0/10. Would never order this again. What was I thinking ordering bbq ribs from a Mexican restaurant?! They were dry, slathered in overwhelming sauce, tough, and chewy. Absolutely 100% avoid. For entrees we got the maine lobster for two, shrimp tampiquenos, and branzino. Maine lobster for two 9/10. Divine, excellent, the lobster meat is abundant and thoroughly seasoned from head to tail. There is so much meat to dig for in the claws, body, and even in the head and guts. I was sucking the meat from the shell; I've never had lobster that was seasoned this well. The charred flavor from the grill clearly cut through the meat. This was amazing. Shrimp tampiquenos 7/10. Five meaty shrimps but the sauce just overpowers everything. It's too sweet and I couldn't taste anything else. At least the shrimp was tender. Branzino 2/10. Ridiculously thin and tiny fish portion. The filet was so thin that it dried out during cooking and was just sad to look at. Feel absolutely scammed at the price point ($46) read more

Location is everything, and Las Brisas definitely has that going for them being an ocean view restaurant overlooking the coastline. They keep it concise with a smaller menu, but the flavors are still all there. I had the lamb chops and they were killer. Rest of the table had an assortment of roasted chicken, squash tamales, among other entrees. I will say this place is overpriced, as my lamb chops were like $60, but I guess these guys have to pay rent too. Overall, great experience, good place for a date. read more

After experiencing the normal Southern California June gloom the sun finally came out at about 1:30. Our first thought.... Let's head to the water! We landed in Laguna Beach and decided to have drinks and an appetizer at Las Brisas. We asked to sit out on the patio and were seated at our favorite table with the best view ! Outside of their rising prices since our last visit it was still very enjoyable and the view! Their ceviche is now $22 but again you're in Laguna Beach. Service was great and we always love the outdoor ambience of Las Brisas. read more

Ok. First let me say the wait staff and valets were wonderful and attentive. We went here for my mother's 90th birthday party. I'm a California native and have been here before. Wow. What a disappointment. My mother ordered the crab omelette. My sister and I had steak and eggs. I have celiac so asked that the potatoes not be fried in the shared fryer. They gave sad boiled potatoes with no flavor. The steak was terrible. My mom said her crab tasted awful. The waiter was sweet - brought mom cheesecake. I'm sad with the rest. At least the company was good. Our home cooking is much better at least. Beautiful view. Not worth the price read more

Food: BOMB! We had oysters, some of the best oysters I have ever had. Incredibly fresh and that vinegar sauce was amazing. We also ordered tuna poke which was more like a tuna tartare with chips and again, one of the best tuna appetizers I have ver had. For the entree we ordered the steak and lobster enchiladas, I asked for double steak and I was not even a little disappointed. My boyfriend said the steak was better than the lobster but still good. Service: The host looked like she was done with her life. I hope things get better friend. Tony our server was amazing, he was friendly and attentive and he was doing the most. Ambiance: I want to live here. There was no outside seating and we were walk ins so so decided to sit inside instead of wait. I haven't been here in years and decided to come for dinner. I checked the website, and they had a promotion going on through the "InKind" app. If you spend $100 or more, you receive $50 off through their promotion. I downloaded it and signed up. Usually, you would think it would be more complicated, but it wasn't. We had the following items. - Yellowtail Sashimi Appetizer $25 - Scallops $52 - Steak and Lobster Enchiladas $39 Drinks: - La Flor - Monarch - Dirty Martini (they didn't have olives that night) Olivia was our server and took great care of us! She was informative and easy to talk to. We sat around the fireplace. Very nice ambiance, and the weather was nice! Las Brisas has a broad patio space over looking the blue, blue, azure, vast Pacific Ocean. Just as its name in Spanish states, the patio is blessed by sea breezes wafting landward. There are plenty of tables under the big tent w/ no side panels to obstruct air flow which is so important to diluting any microbes in the air. High tops have umbrellas to ward off the hot summer sun. Going during an inland heatwave (Palm Springs 121℉!) Las Brisas is the ideal, refreshing oasis for Margaritas, Sangrias, Mai Tai, etc. It may be an ideal place to retreat to after visiting the adjacent Laguna Art Museum undergoing sensory overload. Looking at the Mexican food passing by, it looks rather pedestrian, El Torito style. However, the drinks by overlookIng the sea makes up for the culinary deficiencies. I had CoCo Verde made of Casamigos Reposado Tequila, coconut milk, nutmeg, Ancho Reyes Verde, a spicy, smoky, green pepper & sweet chile liqueur that adds depth & complex spice. I had the CoCo blended to add even more cooling power when even Laguna Beach was a bit hot under the collar. Finisher was a bottle of Badoit, a lightly effervescent mineral water from France. LIme & clear ice finally quenched our heat induced thirst. Our Latino waiter was amiable, helpful, congenial. Parking on Cliff Drive is extremely limited. There is valet parking entered from the west side of Pacific Coast Hwy right behind the Laguna Art Museum available only for Las Brisas customers. $10 to be paid at the time of the general restaurant billing. 4- stars for the Laguna Beach ambiance. read more

No finer place than Las Brisas Laguna Beach. You cannot beat the location, incredible ambiance and the food is great. But the service is exceptional. Stopped for breakfast this cool rainy morning and met Ricardo our waiter extraordinaire, or excelente. Best personality, wonderful man, great service. Ricardo is also why you go to Las Brisas. We went impromptu to brunch and had the best time! Rodrigo was amazing. We ordered bottomless mimosas and my glass was NEVER empty. Quality service from Rodrigo! He was attentive, funny, patient, and knowledgeable on the food! The view was amazing and their pan dulce is delicious. When in Laguna make it a point to come to Las Brisas! We even saw dolphins swimming by in the ocean from our table! read more

Haven't been to this classic establishment in laguna since precovid and boy was I disappointed in discovering that this is so different than the good old las Brisas that we would go with friends on summer afternoons for nachos and a pitcher of margaritas. The dinner menu is completely changed and other than chip and salasa and guacamole that runs you $16, the rest of the menu is barely Mexican. Roasted chicken? Tomahawk Steak? Poke? Give me a break. Bring back sizzling fajitas! Very disappointed but given I had already bought gift cards from Costco we ended up staying. None of the margaritas ($17) sounded good so given it was a nice sunny day, I ordered an aperol spritz ($15). Likely the best thing from my entire meal. We ordered the chips and salsa and I ordered the chef salad with grilled chicken as nothing else sounded good. My wife had the shrimp dish ($43) which came with 5 shrimp and rice that was drenched in a very buttery and creamy sauce. We also had a roasted chicken which comes on a bed of potato's as well as the carne asada tacos and fish and chips from the kids menu. My salad was ok but the chicken was extra dry. I think the best thing on the menu was the tacos from kids menu. The roasted chicken was a 7 out of 10, shrimp dish was 4 out of 10 and my salad and chicken a 6 out of 10. Made a reservation for 8:15 on a Saturday night to celebrate my anniversary. I've been to this restaurant before and was quite impressed with the view, service, and food, so I figured why not come again. Unfortunately, my experience this time around was not as great. We arrive at 8:10 to check in and are notified to wait in the crammed lobby/bar with many other parties waiting. I actually got too claustrophobic and went outside to wait. It is about 8:30 now and I check to see if our table is ready, but still isn't, so we wait in the seating area as it cleared up by then. On OpenTable, I specifically requested a table outside but when the hostess came up to me, she asked if I wanted to stay inside or out. I let her know that I reserved an outside table to which she responded, "the wait is going to be a lot longer if you choose to sit outside rather than in." I let her know that I specifically wanted to sit outdoors as it was a beautiful night and I preferred the beautiful view, plain and simple! Another 10 mins go by and another hostess comes up to us. She mentioned that if we want to be seated already, she can get us a table inside by a window ASAP, but if we wanted to wait for an outdoor table, it could be another 30-45min. At this point, it's already 8:40 and my reservation was at 8:15. We ended up taking the indoor table. We waited another 10-15min before she came back and sat us. This was just the beginning of our horrible experience. We sit down by the window (which was terrible seating as there were no lights visible outside from where we were sat and it just looked pitch black outside) and we were right next to a huge party! It was only us, as a couple, and the huge party in that section! Our first server, Jose, got our drinks and appetizers, then handed us off to Matt to assist further. After we got our appetizers and drinks, we waited a good 30min before our server, Matt came to take our order. Now, Matt did mention that they were understaffed so in no way am I bashing him as a waiter, just explaining my experience. He noticed our chips were gone and offered to get us more as he rung in our order. We waited for a refill on water, a refill on chips, just to get checked on, but no one came to our table. Another 30mins go by (it's about 9:50 now) and our food finally comes out (he forgot our chips ) but at this point my husband and I were just hungry and wanted to dig in. We wrapped dinner up around 10:30 (no one checked on us the whole time) and we were ready for the check. No waiter was around, so my husband got up to use the restroom, and when he came back, he asked our waiter to get us the check. Matt was sweet and told my husband that he'll bring us dessert on the house which was very thoughtful as my husband and I were celebrating our love. I was honestly so tired at this point and wanted to just pay and go, possibly get the dessert to-go as well but we ended up waiting another 20mins. Once we got the dessert boxed and our check, we went up to Matt (we didn't want to wait even longer for them to pick up the check) and we left. We even paid in cash so we didn't have to wait to get our card back. It was unfortunate that I didn't have the experience I wanted to. This place has a great ambiance and good food, but service that night was not great. It all started when I specifically reserved an outdoor table and was not granted one, when things went downhill. Now I understand with it being a Saturday night, them being understaffed, whatever the situation was as to why we may of had this bad experience but I do not know if I would be returning. read more

Location is unbeatable!! The pictures give the view and ambiance away highly recommend for brunch. You can buy gift cards from local Costco to make the bill slightly cheaper or sign up for the mailing newsletter and they give you $$ off your bill. Can be pricey but 100% worth it for the experience + the food!! Don't be overwhelmed by the 3 course + menu. You will be full but overwhelmed with food. read more

I had an awesome experience dining at Las Brisas. We sat on the patio, oceanside. They provide an excellent balance of sun and shade. We ordered the chicken wings which were 10/10. Entrees weren't lacking either; I ordered the kale salad with blackened salmon and Ryan ordered the surf & turf enchiladas. The food tastes amazing, you can tell the kitchen cooks with love. read more

Valet but you need to get there early for it because it will fill up. Or you can look for street public parking.

Possible but I wouldn't count on it. I reserved a table with a view 2 weeks beforehand and got the worse view ever and service was terrible! Oh, and their front desk was bad too. I called to ask about valet and they were no help at all. Good luck…
