This is authentic Salvadoran food and you won't be disappointed. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and added some shrimp and my wife had the Camaronas al Ajillo. Both were amazing, fresh, and perfect size portions. The corn tortillas were thick and homemade as were the warm tortilla chips and salsa. The service was amazingly friendly and helpful. Walking distance from the Fairfield, whose staff recommended it. The shuttle driver also said he loved their chicken. I ordered a chicken dish which had been mentioned as "great." Sorry, but I did not see any quality in the chopped up bits of dark chicken I found inside the thing. I am retired, travel, eat out two or three times a week. I rate this place at 6% for its food. That means 94 out of a hundred are better. The food matches the "decor" : hole-on-the-wall next to a gas station, with table/chair sets that cost $10 at a yard sale. The operators were friendly, happy people. The customers, besides we two Americans (wife is Chinese), were all local Latinos. I like Latinos, believe me, as they were the best workers when I owned a restaurant. But if this is what they eat in El Salvador, I see why they all want to get out and move to America. read more

My wife and I just returned to our hotel after trying Las Palmas after reading the reviews. trust what I say or you are on your own. to start with we have been to El Salvador a couple times. We went to this restaurant because of the latest review of the folks from Texas who thought it was so good. Normally we never say anything but this was a real joke. To start with they had no soda drinks and no mixed dinks because there equipment was brook. we had water and warm beer. I ordered a sampler dish called La Parrillada for 29.99 that sounded really great, my wife had Camarones a la Diabla, a shrimp dish. Her shrimp still had the shells on them, what would have been alright if not for setting in a liquid, peeling them was real messy. Mine came with two chicken legs, some shrimp like hers but not socked in liquid, some beef and pork. The chicken was cooked God knows when and then cooked to the point it was not possible to eat because it was so tuff, it was also black from being burnt. I then tried the beef and could not cut it, that is the truth and I even demonstrated cutting the steak to out waitress with the butter knife they gave me to cut it with, all she said of sorry and walked away. It was the hardest meat I have ever seen served and no, I was not able to eat it. I will not tell everything but two items were not included with my meal that was on the menu. The rice was cold and I never did get that I asked for that came with the meal. out of all the restaurants anywhere in the world this rates the worst. when I went to the counter to pay the guy asked how it was so I said, I prefer not saying but he could read my review, he asked what was wrong so I started to tell him and he replied well it is how they do it in Le Salvador. I told him he was wrong because we have been there more than once. He then told me it was under new management. Now you know not to go by any of the review as we did because it is not the same place any longer. This may have been once a great place but no longer. you have been warned so if you don't believe us you will once you try it. This as only the second time in by many years of eating out that I left no tip, they got more than what they deserved because they never once offered to do anything about it other than make excuses for it being so bad.
