Loved this hidden beach bar, inside the Delray Sands Resort!! It's easy to miss it (you'd never know it was there if driving down A1A); valet is $10. It was too windy for us to sit outside, but it is one of the few restaurants in this location that is actually beachfront. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the blue cheese wedge salad and thought it was one of the better ones I've had! The lettuce was crispy and fresh, the blue cheese crumbles and dressing were a rich quality, and the bacon was cooked well done. A basic salad done right. Did have an interesting experience with an older couple who REFUSED to sit next to us at the bar because we were wearing sandals. Told the manager they NEEDED a table because our bare feet were unacceptable. The bartender was very friendly and made our experience really fun, despite the negative couple we saw. (Sandals are MORE than ok at this restaurant.) I would definitely return! read more

25 years in the area and I never knew this was here. Totally amazing views! Spot on service from valet to wait staff! Located inside the Delray Sands Hotel on A1A. Valet parking is available for $10. A friend told me about this place and my husband and I were going to Delray so we stopped in here for a drink. This is one of the few restaurants actually on the beach. Outdoor patio tables are just steps from the beach and ocean. Indoor tables have beautiful ocean views too. Nice menu and a happy hour from 4-6. Tuna tacos were excellent. Fresh tuna and a scallion salad in a crisp taco, with wasabi and topped with an aioli drizzle. I plan on going back either for dinner or brunch soon and when I have out of town guests this will be where I take them. read more

This is one of our must stops when visiting South Florida. A beautiful little spot on the ocean with amazing views. The food is always outstanding with fresh seafood topping the menu. This visit the server was not very knowledgeable and couldn't explain dishes. However, that couldn't dampen an outstanding experience for our final meal on this trip. This is a gem that has to be preserved by all means. As I've heard, 50 years ago, all the East Coast of Florida was full of small hotels and motels of this kind right on the beach. Well, this place, The Sands hotel with its restaurant called Latitudes make a unique place in the Boca - Delray area called Highlands. Although the building has definitely some old but strong bones, everything looks modern, spotless and brand new. Food is great. I started with the Poke Tuna which was great, then my second choice was the Surf and Turf. The steak was cooked to perfection, and maybe the best steak I had all year. It must be said that I've tried a few famous steak places and I was not so impressed as I was at the Latitudes. The server was very prompt, well trained and friendly. We celebrated my friends birthday at this lovely location overlooking the ocean, in a private room that was glass off from the rest of the restaurant. There were nine of us, including a three-year-old child, so we were grateful to be separated, and yet included in the ambience. My entree was the pasta with lobster and shrimp, it was perfection. It is on the pricey (+$40) side but very delicious. My husband got the crab cake, I personally didn't like it much but he liked it. I found the taste too fishy. We ordered creme brûlée for dessert and it was to die for. I am a big creme brulee fan, I try it every where I go. This was very tasty, you could tell it wasn't cheap. It was the typical FL seafood and grill with the typical choices: carb cakes, brussels', oysters, etc. It was well executed, handsomely plated, well balanced, and fresh. Well presented: you'll get good photos. Nothing unexpected on the menu (so not for the adventure foody) but quite delicious. The view was beautiful and we had good service. It's a great date location. They were very accommodating of my mobility issues and my service dog was welcomed. Family Dinner Date at the wifey's favorite place and once again they did not disappoint! This has been one of our top picks for several years and I must say it gets a bit better every time we visit! We were seated immediately as we had reservations and our server Grace was very attentive and efficient. We started with the Fried Calamari and an Iceberg Lettuce with a Blue Cheese dressing that was very fresh and tasty. For our main courses we went with the Linguine and Clams in a white sauce, a Shrimp stuffed with Lobster meat and a Classic Fish and Chips. For dessert we shared the Crème Brûlée. After writing my first review of our bad experience with the food, we were invited back by the manager Carla to give them another try. We went today. I introduced myself, said hi and she said they'll seat you shortly. We were seated, and waited about 25 minutes before a server approached us and asked if we had been helped yet. We told him we hadn't and he said he just started his shift and that he would take care of us since no one else had. We ordered the seafood tower (for two) Market Price which was $95. It included 1 small lobster tail split in two, 2 small crab legs (which were split in half), 4 small oysters, 4 jumbo shrimp and a tiny cup of crab meat. A very underwhelming "tower" that wasn't enough food for two people so we ordered fish tacos with fries. The fries were cold. The waiter touched them, agreed, apologized and got us new fries. That took about 15 mins to get. We also ordered two margaritas, that were served in short glasses that had mostly ice in them at $16 each. When the manager invites you to give them "another try" and tells you to ask for her when you arrive, you'd think you'd get better service. Otherwise why invite us back!! After our second disappointing visit, we decided we will NOT be returning. There are too many restaurants in the area that serve much better food at a lower price point. read more

We heard this place was an awesome place to eat. It was our anniversary and we thought why not treat ourselves and sit and enjoy a beach view early meal together. We made reservations and we arrived at 4pm and when we entered the restaurant we went to the front desk and they seated us immediately in the corner by the window facing the beautiful ocean and the view was amazing. The area around us in the carpet floor was food and it was a bit of a mess. We sat over 22 minutes till someone walked up and dropped off two glasses of water and walked away without one word spoken. We debated leaving and then thought why not stay and just enjoy the beach view and make the best of it. After a few more minutes we went back to the hostess and asked if anyone would be coming over to take care of us. She apologized and ran off to find someone. As we looked around they only had 4 tables of people and a large number of staff standing around and joking around. Finally after 30 minutes a man walks up and said are you ready to order? When they seated us they gave us a menu and then one that had specials on it. We saw black cod and my wife has never had it and wanted to know what it was like. He proceeded to say well it tastes good! We asked could you describe what type of fish and the taste or compare it to other types of fish we might know and all he ended up saying after looking around a bit thinking is that it is a very good fish. So I googled it and got a better answer. Asked if he had any recommendations and he said the food here is good. So while we thought this over we ordered drinks and asked if we could order when he comes back with the drinks. He returned pretty quick with the drinks and we placed our order. We ordered the Black cod chefs special. After about 10 minutes he comes back and says they don't have any black cod chefs special left. By this time it is almost 5 and they have no specials left and it took him 10 minutes to let us know. We had to ask him for the menu again to choose something else. He returned with a menu and we ordered the Mahi Mahi dish with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meal was brought to us and it was pretty tasty. He returned after a while as we finished up and asked if we would want to order dessert and by this time we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We arrived at 4:45 p.m. for dinner at a restaurant we have frequented often and had requested a window table in our reservation; none was available. We agreed to sit outside, where multiple tables were open, but the hostess initially seated us at a table less than two feet from the server station. We declined that table and were then moved to another one.Christey was assigned as our server. Because dinner service began at 5:00 p.m., we expected to see him around that time. At 5:00 p.m. and again at 5:10 p.m., we looked for him, but there was no sign of him, even though there were two other servers working in the area. At approximately 5:15 p.m., we finally saw Christey, but he was taking orders from other tables with his back to us. I called out to him, but he left the area without acknowledging us. At about 5:20 p.m., we flagged down another server for assistance, and he offered to take our order, which we accepted.While all of this was happening, we were also subjected to continuous barking from a nearby dog. The restaurant may be dog friendly, but there was no effort made to address the ongoing disturbance, which significantly diminished our experience.Even after placing our order with the other server, there was still no follow up from Christey. By around 5:40 p.m. we still had not received our meals. At approximately 5:45 p.m. we again saw Christey, asked about our food, and he said he would check on it. He then proceeded to serve other tables and did not return with an update.At that point, I called the hostess stand and asked to speak with a manager. My husband had to go to the desk because the hostess could not figure out where th deck directly in front of her was ( I kept saying we were in the outside deck to the left but she did not get it). Carly the manager told my husband there was a problem with the chicken and that it needed to be cooked from scratch, which would take a few more minutes. She came to our table when the food ws delivered. She saw that the chicken entrée was very good. However, my steak and lobster tail were not acceptable. I had ordered the steak medium rare, but it arrived well done, and the lobster tail was dry and overcooked. Carly offered to have the dish remade, but based on how long everything had already taken, I declined, as I did not want to wait another extended period for my meal. She told us that they would take care of us.We finished our meal pretty quickly as I had some potatoe and asperagus but no one came by to check on us or to see whether we needed anything further, such as more bread, another drink, or water. Eventually, we placed all of our dishes at the edge of the table in the hope that at least a busser would notice and come over so we could request the check.The server who had originally taken our order, not Christey, eventually came over, apologized, and asked if we wanted dessert. Given the experience up to that point, we declined. A few minutes later, he returned and told us that the restaurant had applied a 50 percent discount to our dinner and was offering a complimentary dessert and coffee which we already turned down. If their only way of taking care of a patron is just to ignore them then give them 50% off. While we appreciate the gesture, it did not adequately address the series of service issues, delays, and the overall disruption we experienced throughout the evening.We paid and left. While I understand restaurants can have a bad day. The way this was handled was compltelty unacceptable. Latitudes @ Delray Sands Hi, I was looking a nice places on the water to take my family of 5 and daughters 20th birthday at Latitudes. The original woman at the desk was extremely nice and I informed her it was for her birthday. After that we waited about 10 minutes for our table which was shorter than expected so that was nice. The part where it got uncomfortable is the hostess (Ashley was her name, southern accent) who sat us literally didn't say a word and then we follow her outside, she shoves open the door and doesn't hold it so I grab it to hold open which generally at $40+ per meal and $20+ per appetizer you expect a little more customer service. She then literally throws the menus on each plate in a very rude manner. Then I said oh this is a table for 4, there's 5 of us. She swings around a chair from another table and says "well look I guess we made that work" and she walks away. I felt like I was at "Dick's Last Resort". Even a server told her she needs to calm down. Our food came out great and our server Grace was extremely nice. I asked to speak to main manager which I didn't get his name but was a taller white male. I explained it all, he literally said nothing more than "I'm sorry for your experience and hope it doesn't happen again." I wasn't looking for a handout or anything and still tipped my server 20+% as it was not her fault.
