Amazing views and service. The food was fantastic. Great place to go with your favorite person and enjoy high end restaurants.

So much hype for such a disappointing breakfast. The setting is absolutely stunning, but the food and service were a joke. 15 minutes just to see a server so we could place a mimosa order. 10 more minutes to receive the drink. 30 minutes before the server returned to take our meal order. 42 minutes for the food to finally arrive. I asked for extra hard-boiled eggs on my Benedict due to health issues. It arrived with regular poached eggs. I sent it back, and it took another 30 minutes to be corrected. The fruit platter was hot--clearly left under a heat lamp far too long. At that point, we didn't dare ask for a replacement or we might still be sitting there at dinner time. To make matters worse, the couple next to us had been seated before us... yet they still didn't receive their food until after we had finished ours. We heard the server apologizing to them and offering drinks for the delay. We'll keep to ourselves the comments they made after he walked away. You're paying for the experience. The food and drinks are mediocre at best. Personally, this is an overhyped place but I understand why given the location and views. Thankfully Open Table was very explicit with where to find the boat because I couldn't find the details on their website. The staff at the dock and the boat were very courteous and helpful. Right at check in at the boat slip, she acknowledged the birthday reservation! It was a quick ride but enjoyed the nighttime lights and breeze! The hostess was very welcoming and pleasant and acknowledged the birthday reservation, too! Within 2 minutes of check-in, we were seated at our table. Our waiter, Alex, was very courteous, attentive, and helpful. I do, however, find it odd he didn't acknowledge the birthday reservation. 3 stars I'm surprised for this caliber of a restaurant that my old fashioned was made with a maraschino cherry. We visited Latitudes on the last day of our honeymoon and words cannot describe the view, location, or food. Be sure you have a reservation as you cannot get on the ferry to the island without one! From the minute we walked in, you would've thought we were the only people there. The servers were beyond attentive, and gave great recommendations. Our blue crab tostadas were delicious and the key lime mustard on them were the perfect touch or sweet/sour. Both our entrees were to die for, I actually can't put into words how good they both were lol. The caribbean chicken sandwich was huge. I definitely could've made 2 meals out of it had we not been leaving that evening. The key lime pie was some of the best I had ever had. Nothing I get in the store will ever compare. It was pretty pricey but that's assumed due to the location. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. read more

Went last week and while the atmosphere is amazing. The food has been lacking. My husband and I had the snapper. We both commented how "fishy" tasting it was. I was sick before I got back to the hotel and husband also got sick. That was the last visit .... once you get food poisoning that's it for me! read more

Sure, sure, the ferry trip over's some adventurous fun and the beachside dining's spectacular spectacular but what's going on with Latitudes? Man, it wasn't so enjoyable this time around, enough to ding them down, even after having been so enamored with them over several many visits these last few years. Our waitress just wasn't polished enough for the job and the upcharge "specialty" burger sort of sucked for the money. Burger was overcooked. Asked for medium, got well done, and the temp was somewhere between warm and cold; like it'd been under a heat lamp. Not an unforgivable thing but for that kind of money, $29, you've got to do a lot better than that or it's just not fine dining. Fresh hot dropped truffle fries and onion rings couldn't hide a cold burger; delicious as they were. And the waitress was too busy to notice, largely doting on other tables flirting and carrying on as it were, and was snappy when I finally got the chance to say something ...and then we saw her even less. Went without water refills for long stretches. Lots of waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Drink reorder came out after the bill was paid. You get the idea. Unbecoming. If this were my first time in, and we didn't have so many other Great memories from our other visits here, I would've given them a two or three. ...but credit where credit's due; lobster roll's still especially good and devoid of filler, artisan cheese tray was Awesome. I don't usually leave reviews like this; on the contrary, I always try to share positive feedback to help businesses grow. However, this experience truly deserves to be told. On September 29th (my birthday, by the way), my partner and I had a reservation at this restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated indoors but asked for a table outside by the ocean. While waiting at the indoor bar, we were eventually seated at an outdoor table. I took a photo with my partner and left my phone on the table. During dinner, three staff members came by our table: a waitress who served water, a young waiter who brought the dishes, and an older waiter who took the order. At the end of the night, when I went to grab my phone, it was gone. I immediately told the staff, but no one knew anything, and the phone never appeared. I searched everywhere in distress, but the most upsetting part was the behavior of the bartender inside -- he got defensive, claimed we were accusing him, and spoke to me rudely and disrespectfully. It was an extremely uncomfortable moment witnessed by several people, and I left the place in tears. I still paid the bill and asked to speak with the manager, who simply said they would call if the phone turned up. No one has followed up or contacted me since. It's very concerning that a restaurant of this supposed level doesn't take basic safety measures, like checking their staff or having proper camera surveillance for guests' protection. What was meant to be a special night turned into a deeply disappointing experience. A staff that steals or shows no empathy in such a situation sadly reflects the true quality of this place. read more

Latitudes has always been my go to favorite restaurant in Key west. This was my fourth time visiting but will probably be my last. The instructions and ferry ride to the restaurant were pleasant. Hostess was professional and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful in a beautiful romantic setting. It was not busy. Once seated, our waiter came by to introduce himself then walked away. It took approx 15 minutes maybe more for him to return and take drink orders. Drinks have always been so good but not this time! Our drinks were way below average. One drink was sent back and its replacement was not any better. Salad was good. We did not have appetizers. Fish dishes were over cooked and under seasoned. Not sure if it's that we visited during their slow season in September or that there has been a change in management but overall, the experience was disappointing. The quality of the food and service did not match the price and exclusivity. Hope they can get it together. read more

My friend and I were visiting for our birthday and we were lucky to be able to get a reservation here! People book this restaurant months in advance (if you do, I'd recommend trying for a sunset reservation) To arrive to the restaurant, there is a boat shuttle that takes you there. Your reservation time is your shuttle time. They will not take you earlier than that. Our reservation was for 8pm. While we did not see the sunset, we could still hear the waves crashing and had a nice breeze. Our waitress was sweet, attentive and informative. I ordered the lobster risotto while my friend ordered the short ribs. For desserts we ordered the salted caramel creme Brule and the beignets. Both were incredible but I preferred the creme Brule. Our journey begin pleading to return the ferry back to the dock at 7:45, the time that our reservation hit, stuck behind a rope. They graciously returned the boat and let us on board. Engulfed in a bright orange light, we understood why it was named sunset key as we cruised from mallory square. Upon arrival we were privately escorted from the dock to our seats with a serene sunset view. Our waiter encouraged us to slow it down --- wayyyy down. And thus our evening began. Dinner and drinks were amazing as you can see from the pictures below. To sum it all up "our plates reminded us of home but also of new adventures. They were a warm embrace." We caught a shuttle boat from the marina by the Opal restaurant to Sunset Key. We were quickly seated outside on a beautiful cool, windy day. The tables were covered with white linen tablecloths. My Cafe' Latte and Cappuccino both came with a stick of rock candy, a first for me! The service was top-notch. I've been in customer service for a long time and this just isn't hitting the mark. The address to get to the boat was very confusing and caused us to miss our reservation boat. When we arrived at the restaurant...an hour late...I was told my reservation was still set. I specifically had asked for outdoor seating a month ago while making the reservation. We've been to Latitudes several times over the past ten years and recommended it to many people. We went this week and had a horrible experience. The food was as good as normal and the service was good until we complained about the noise. There were contractors with jack hammers and chain saws (or at least it sounded that way) at the house next door. It made conversation impossible. When we complained about it as did the five tables around us, we were assured that this doesn't happen every day. It's not normal. Well it was OUR day to enjoy our lunch at Latitudes and we couldn't. And it became clear that no one cared that we weren't having an enjoyable lunch. I believe it is a management problem and I contacted them and gave them a day to respond to my complaint. I haven't heard a word. It would have been easy for management to empower their employees either before the incident or after to provide some accommodation for their guests. But instead the staff apologized and assured us they could do nothing. A second thing I'll warn about it splitting bills there. The bill split was accurate, but the tip amount suggested was for the entire bill. That may be how their software works, but it would be helpful for the wait staff to point it out. We recently visited Key West July 18-27th and decided to take the boat ride over to the island where Latitudes is located. We heard they had stunning sunset views! Once we got there we were greeted by our AMAZING server, Eduardo. I'll get back to him in a minute trust me! I had French onion soup , a Caesar salad and a filet with cauliflower potato gratin (I think that's what it's called), my boyfriend had a fish special I can't remember exactly what kind of fish it was but it was served with chorizo. The soup and salad were delicious, I really enjoyed that. My steak was decent but for the price it could have been a little better but I was overall pleased . My boyfriend however wasn't a fan of his fish , he said it had been overcooked and tasted fishy. We also had a crème brûlée for desert which we both really liked. We didn't make any complaints about the fish being overcooked as we both agreed we really came for the view and the atmosphere . Now let me get back to the best part, EDUARDO! We eat at a lot of restaurants and I myself have served tables in my younger years and I will say he was HANDS DOWN the best server either one of us have ever had the pleasure of having . Everything we chose he would say 'Great choice' lol. His personality was so amazing and he was def made to do customer service . We recommend this place to our friends and the first thing we talk about was the impeccable service we received from Eduardo! He truly made this a one of a kind dining experience and we appreciated him so much. I think I even gave him a hug when we went to leave. We actually ended up seeing him riding around on a moped the next day and we yelled out to him. We both agreed that our next trip we are going to go back just to try to take him out for a drink . It's a ferry ride from the key west harbor (a short, 5min ferry included with the reservation). It's a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance. Service is good / as expected. Food was alright. We ordered the french onion soup, seafood pasta and a snapper. All of them were fine, not amazing. Thought the price is very reasonable for such a pretty, romantic restaurant. I write this review with a heavy heart ...This place is very special to me ... a memory that I would cherish as long as I live. No doubt it's been voted in the top most romantic restaurant in USA. A special someone (aka my soulmate) surprised me to a scrumptious dinner and an immaculate sunset. The island can only be accessed by a private scenic boat ride (included with your reservation) this sets the mood of what to expect for the rest of the night ... it's like you've entered a parallel universe where all your earthly worries seize to exist. The food, You can't go wrong with anything you order... most of what is cooked is fresh catch. We had the seared grouper, seasoned with a Cuban spice rub green apple jicama slaw, yuca shoestring fries, spiced cuban black bean sauce. It was cooked to perfection Yum!! And everything on that plate tasted so good, I wiped it clean. We also ordered a Arugula & Radicchio salad that had grilled pineapple and spiced candied hazelnuts... this actually was just ok.I would probably skip it. Definitely worthy for a celebratory dinner. Caesar salad: stale croutons, room temperature salad, but the dressing tasted good and homemade. 6/10 Yellowtail snapper entree: good flavor, very large portion, but was not hot. This was the best thing we had. Not much of a sear but again pretty good. 7/10 Worst of all... the $51 "flat iron Wagyu" it was definitely not Wagyu. Not tender, probably a sirloin... they upcharge for the name but the quality is NOT there. Over cooked, we ordered med rare and were served med well, dry and tough. Which is crazy because you can cook a flat iron past well done and it will still be buttery and tender. Sides were good and well portioned, but again not served hot. 4/10. For the price you're paying, you're not getting the quality of food. The service however was outstanding. I would recommend maybe going for dinner with a group of friends; don't waste your time on a pricey date night searching for a delicious dinner. Voted in one of the top 50 most Romantic restaurants in USA, reservations are hard to come by. We were luck enough to get a reservation in for a beautiful sunset. Latitudes is on an island off key west and requires a boat ride. Not to worry, the restaurant takes care of your commute, all you need to do is get to the pier, at the time of your reservation. (make sure you get there a few muns early or you will miss your ride and have to wait 39 mins) The views are excellent and so is the service. The food is good elevated by the experience and the beauty of nature that catches your eye. We got our reservation at the time of the sunset and nothing beats that. The potato salad on the the Cobb was terrible. Potatoes were undercooked and had no flavor. Wow. What a evening. You are greeted by the captain/hostess at the dock and you typically board 5-20 minutes before your reservation time because the ferry ride is quite short. Upon arrival we were met with warmth and kindness by the staff. We had to wait about 5 minutes for our table because of weather issues (a large number of the seating is outside.)
