Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner and a drink with my friend. Parking is very tough, be prepared to loop around for a while (it's on Ventura Boulevard) or just pay the $10 for valet. Seating is first-come, first-served, so be sure to lock down a table first before placing your order at the bar. You order everything at the bar, both food and drinks. The inside is pretty small, loud, and gets packed quickly, but the outdoor space is pretty cute with lots of wood, portable heaters, and string lights. The outdoor space also filled up quickly after 7 p.m. so come before then to lock down a table. I found the wine barrel seating very difficult to sit at so try to get a regular table if possible. Every time I drive past it in the evening it's busy. I ordered a spicy margarita that was not spicy at all and the caesar salad with chicken. The salad was pretty good, but a little overpriced. I think if I'm with someone who wants to go here, I'll go with them to give Laurel Tavern another chance, but wouldn't suggest coming here on my own. read more

I love it here. Great place for large groups, dates, you name it! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. When it gets cold, they have those outdoor heaters too. I wish they had better parking but in this area, it can't be helped. If you get lucky, you can get metered and street parking - at this point I just call a cab. At this point, I've tried almost every cocktail and every dish and I have zero complaints. Every dish is so good and worth it. The sliders, the dips, the fries, the wings, all of it. My favorite is the pork belly skewer!! Fatty, crispy, savory & sweet goodness. Also garlic fries. Don't skimp out on that. My favorite cocktail is their new fashioned -- so creative and all the flavors compliment each other so well. The lemonade cocktail just tasted like lemonade so if you're looking for something alcohol without the alcohol taste -- highly recommend that and the secret garden. one of my friends recommended we go here as we were heading to KUT Juice bar across the street after a hike. Turkey Club x2: He raved about the turkey club being a hit. He and another friend ordered the clubs and I was told the club needed a little bit more mayo and sauciness to it but def great presentation and portions. Cod Tacos x2: my best friend and I ordered the cod tacos and sides of fries - spicy for me and garlic parm for him - I wish they were larger tacos for $10. Would be better off at $6-$8 instead. My fries were kind of chewy, for lack of better explanation. Everyone else liked there's but mines was kind of off. When we got up to order, the bartender was nice and patient, food came in a timely manner after placing out order. We weren't immediately greeted when we initially walked in which is a bit off putting for me tbh. Overall, I wouldn't seek out coming back here since I don't eat meat. Always a great choice when you're in Studio City. A tavern feel indeed from the second you step in. Wood covers floor to ceiling all washed in a warm light. The seats at the bar are usually taken up, but it's because it just has a feel good, neighborhood hang vibe. Menus are all over the walls, listing food, a decently sized beer list, and some wine/cocktails. It might take a minute to get your order in; it's "order at the bar only", so be patient with the bartenders as they juggle their multiple job assignments. We always seem to order from the small plates menu, just so we get a little bit of everything. Fried chicken sliders, chorizo sliders, Brussels sprouts, and pork belly skewers are our regular go-to's. Grab a table inside or post up outside on the "patio"; the empty lot next to the building has been converted to an open air hang, complete with picnic tables, heaters if it's cold, lots of hanging greenery, and even an Air Stream trailer (where you can order drinks depending on the season). I had a nice experience at the bar during happy hour! We ordered the meat & cheese board, fried chicken sliders, and a few beers on tap. They had a lovely spread for the meat & cheese board, and at $8, a fantastic value. I honestly would come back just for this. The chicken sliders were also quite tasty, I'd totally get those again too. There are some conflicting reviews on the service but the bartenders we interacted with were both wonderful - really friendly and attentive the whole time we were there. There's something about Laurel Tavern that makes me want to come back again. We sat outside during night but we're still warm because they had a few of those heater lamps. It was pretty packed but we service time was still pretty quick. The staff routinely comes around to pick up items like glasses and dishes. It is also possible to reserve tables. Parking is $8, but is pretty limited. Do not try to park in the Trader Joe's next door or you will get a parking ticket. read more

There's no line system at the bar so it's impossible to know how to get a bartenders attention , u just have to wait forever and hope for the best lol. Chaotic is an understatement. Told my husband to grab our big water bottle from the car because there's no one refilling water either, gotta go line up at the bar again lol! Came across this lovely gem in Studio City yesterday. Great beers on tap, along with a wonderful selection of spirits as well! I'm an Irish Whisky aficionado, and I was extremely pleased to see Red Breast available here! Anytime I can find a good pour, with a giant cube of ice; I'm extremely jovial to say the least. The pork belly skewers were some of the best starters I've had in quite awhile at a bar & grill, paired beautifully with my whiskey. The Grilled Artichoke was magnificent! Wow! Several visits to Laurel Tavern have all been solid. Versatile indoor and outdoor spaces in a lovely location. Parking is valet. Prices are fairly expensive. Atmosphere and offerings have all been good, and having some options for different spaces to hang out and eat/drink makes it an attractive option. I used to hit Laurel Tavern weekly, drawn by their excellent burgers. Haven't been in a few years because I moved way. But I returned and have gone there twice in the last two weeks. Just a different burger now. Just to be sure, I tried two different burgers each time, including the Laurel Burger, and the bun on both was thick and dry and crumbly. Overwhelmed the burger. After a couple bites it just crumbled apart and I had to finish the burger with a fork. Both times the patty was also undersized for the bun so was just a very bread-y experience. What a beautiful bar. I Loved the ambiance in this place. Reminded me of a few spot back home in Florida. It was recommended by an older this morning while I was having breakfast across the street at Jumpin Java. She said they served really good food and drinks. So we decided to give ot try. The service was good place was pretty busy. The food menu had a little of of everything. I went with the laurel burger and added a slice of tomato. I just like my burgers with tomato in it. It was yummy. I also ordered the ceviche. If you know me, you know I am a ceviche enthusiast. I love it ! So I couldn't help my self to see what type of ceviche was happening over here on Ventura. I'm not big on corn in my ceviche but it definitely was fire. They have a great recipe. I'd definitely return for some more. The cocktails were made to perfection. This looks like a really cool place for happy hour which I plan on swinging by one of these days. Loved the tunes and great vibes at Laurels.
