Love this place for the dog friendly patio. I come during the week when it's not so busy for lunch. Great day spot!! Blue Cheese burger and the French Dip are my go to's. Both outstanding with lots of flavor and juicy beef. If you like these two things try them here!

Cool spot for a drink. There's a slight upscale dive bar vibe indoors and a cute laid back vibe patio area. Both have a good amount of seating options with friendly staff. Didn't try any food this time since we had a dinner resi elsewhere. From what I sneaked a peak at as they were passing by me it looked and smelled good . It's located on a busy main road so parking can be touch to find . There is valet right in front for $12 that is open till midnight and they're super nice guys. I went on a Friday night so I'm not sure of their hours on other days/nights.

The absolute best espresso martini! We also loved our bartender, Shauna, she's so kind and hardworking. This place always feels cozy and is such a great spot to meet new friends.

The jalapeño burger I had originally comes with an onion ring, but I changed it to grilled onions due to not wanting anything fried. It was so yummy the flavors just melt in your mouth. The steak & fries were great as well the meat was so tender! This is a nice chill spot to go to for a lunch and or dinner. Everyone is always nice and friendly the customer service is always great.

It's a no-brainer that one of the most popular bars in the valley is Laurel Tavern. For years, it's always been a dependable spot for anyone wanting to grab a drink somewhere local, meet with friends, or for a fun night cap. Laurel Tavern is located here in Studio City near the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Radford Ave. They offer valet parking for $12 or you can try to find metered parking along Ventura Blvd. This specific part of Studio City is busy so parking can be tight. What I enjoy about Laurel Tavern is that in our 20s, it was the bar that didn't feel like you were still in the valley. It's always been a low key spot to either start your night or go to after dinner nearby. Today, it's the neighborhood bar that has a really spacious patio for anyone wanting to drink outside or needing to host a large group. When I think of where to eat in Studio City, there are so many options to pick from. However when someone asks "where should we get a drink nearby?", I instantly know it's Laurel Tavern.

I had lunch here yesterday with hubby, and it was just ok.... First off the parking situation is terrible unless you want to pay for valet...no thanks. The bartender that made my drink and took our order was great, she was very pleasant...my drink was beautifully presented but was alright. To be honest all the food we ordered looked great upon arrival ( which was pretty quick) but it all lacked flavor, very bland. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and they have it all very festive for Christmas which I loved. The service like I said was good, I just wouldn't plan on returning here.

I always love coming here! It's a super cute spot with a lot of outdoor seating - the only down fall is they usually have events so some of them are reserved. Their HH menu is small but good! I usually get the fried chicken salad, which is always amazing. Last night I tried the chicken sliders and spinach artichoke dip. The sliders were phenomenal!!! The spinach artichoke dip was kinda meh? Like it was good but not juicy/creamy lol it was pretty thick. Parking sucks - it's valet or street parking. There are meters across the street and such which isn't too bad (you can walk off all you ate hahaha) The staff is super friendly! The vibes are always good. Will def be back!

Amazing place to get some food and drinks , the bartenders are awesome! And very nice I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to come here

Surprisingly my very first time at Laurel Tavern! Not too difficult to find metered street parking not too far away on Ventura Blvd. Did a loop inside and outside and on a beautiful day with ample outdoor seating decided to grab a table outside after ordering some drinks at the bar. We opted for the laurel sprtiz and a blonde beer - spritz was made just right and so refreshing. For food we ordered a couple shareables to snack on - tavern nachos, pork belly skewers and fried chicken sliders. Honestly each option was better than the last, I'm not even a big pork fan but the skewers were excellent. By the time we were ready to close out the bill, the bar was much more packed by lucky another staff member saw us waiting and was able to expedite our wait and get us out. Definitely plan to return and come try some more bites. An awesome find and casual spot in the valley!

Just came for a quick drink as we waited to get a food order across the street. Friendly, helpful staff. The vibe was nice, had some people with kids on the outdoor patio. Want to try the food next time. My only complaint is, it's on the pricey side. At $9 a beer and mixed drinks higher.

We pretty much ordered the whole damn menu to share. We were hungry! We shared the meat & cheese board, pork belly skewers, Louisiana grilled chicken wings, grilled steak salad and an order of LT fries. Everything was good, I think the pork belly skewers were the stand out dish. The pork belly just melted in your mouth, absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the wings, the sauce was not too spicy and had a good zing to it. The steak salad was loaded with ripe avocado and a good portion of meat, tasty as well. The weak link would be the cheese board, it just wasn't very fresh tasting, especially the sliced meats. Drinks were poured well....but ordering can be a bit of a cluster. Everything gets ordered at the bar which gets packed, no real line up, just everyone standing around hoping to get the bar keeps attention. They have ample seating and even during the summer heat wave, the misters and fans kept the outside area enjoyable. Parking is rough, but its Ventura Blvd. We found a spot on a side street and walked on over.

I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for 15 years and it never disappoints. During Covid they opened a little outdoor patio area that is super cute. It has a bunch of communal tables, is dog friendly, tvs for watching the games and a cute little airstream trailer that as their outdoor bar. The inside is darkly lit and can get pretty packed and loud when it gets going but is just as fun. The appetizers have a pretty good range, my favorites being the bacon brussel sprouts, artichoke dip, and ceviche. I'm personally not a huge pretzel fan but my friends all say it's one of the best so if that's your thing I'd recommend that one as well. For entrees the spicy chicken sandwich is really good but my favorite is the backyard burger. They have three type of fries and I was lean towards the garlic Parmesan version. Make sure to ask for them crispy as they can come out a little soggy if you don't. For drinks they have a full bar and limited options for wine. My favorite cocktail is the spicy hibiscus margarita. It's the perfect blend of flavors! I've come during the day with the dogs and at night with friends and the vibe is always on point. I'll be continuing to come for years!

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).

The best meal I've had in LA!…read more From start to finish, the service, atmosphere and food were all exquisite. The Valet is friendly & efficient. The rather hidden front door (the restaurant has no signage--so it's a secret--known by those in-the-know (and now you). The bar is dark and charming--feels like an English country home. That leads into a beautifully lit library bar lounge. The indoor/outdoor dining room is gorgeous: evoking a classic European courtyard. The open-air courtyard is surrounded by arched seating areas, each with curtains you can close for privacy. We arrived at 7:30 with the sunset's warm light entering through the open ceiling. As the sky got darker, the room took on a glow from the string lights, candles in niches, and central fireplace. The waiter was charming and friendly, and brought complimentary aperitifs of Luca Bosio Brachetto Rosso Semi Sweet wine. My friends who drink wine loved it and are ordering bottles for home. I don't like wine myself--but I still loved this because it was like a most delicious sweet lightly fizzy grape juice. We shared a cheese board which had a variety of fine cheeses and sweet grapes, honeycomb, dates, dried apricots and almonds. My friends shared the Mushroom Pappardelle--a rich, creamy mushroom sauce on wide delicate noodles. Excellent. I ordered the Steak Frites, 8 oz filet mignon, green beans, creamy peppercorn sauce, and garlic fries. *This was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten* --and my friends agreed. So tender I hardly needed a knife. And the sauce was savory perfection. Even the fries were delicate, crispy outside. The portions are large--I took about 1/3 of my steak and frites home, and my friends took enough pasta home for another meal. Since it was a special occasion, we ordered the Le Petit Gateau, a dark, rich, moist chocolate cake with golden candied wild cherries. So chocolatey, not too sweet--the hint of cherries made it very special. We each had at least one piece (OK, I had two) and there was still half a cake to take home! Firefly is truly special. But not just for special occasions--because once you've discovered it you'll want to eat there again soon.

There's a deliberate sense of discovery to it that gives the place character. The main issue is access. Parking is limited and inconvenient. It feels designed more for rideshare drop-off or a bar-centric crowd than for people arriving on their own to sit down for dinner. If you're coming with friends for a relaxed meal, you should assume you'll either be circling for a spot or paying for valet. The food and drinks are fine, but not the reason to come. Prices sit noticeably above what the execution justifies, especially when compared to similar spots in the area. It's not bad, just not aligned with value. What Firefly does well is atmosphere. The lighting, layout, and hidden-garden concept create a mood that carries most of the experience. You don't come here chasing culinary excellence. You come because the space feels different from everything around it. It delivers on that promise. Just not much beyond it.

It genuinely feels like you've stepped into Tulum the dim lighting, earthy tones, and that effortlessly elevated vibe that makes you want to stay all night. The food is solid (seriously, order the pasta), and getting there isn't a hassle with both valet and street parking options. I do wish they had something going on earlier in the week though, because a Monday night here is underrated and deserves more hype. Drinks are a highlight too. I visited Rouge last weekend to celebrate my friend's birthday. Before this visit, I had been here…read more4-5 times and always had a great experience, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. The biggest issue was the service. Everything took a very long time, and our server was not particularly welcoming or attentive. Every time we requested assistance with our hookah, we waited around 40-50 minutes for someone to come over. We ordered two hookahs. Unfortunately, one was accidentally knocked over and became unusable. We asked if it would be possible to get a paid refill, but were told the only option was to purchase a completely new hookah at full price, which we did. We then requested a refill for the second hookah because it had lost its flavor. We were told they would first replace the coals and come back later for the refill. While we appreciated not being charged for it in the end, we still wanted the refill because there was no flavor left. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting about an hour before it was finally done. The refill was eventually provided free of charge, which was appreciated, but it did not change the fact that we spent most of the evening waiting for service. What made the delays even more frustrating was that the restaurant was not fully busy. By the end of the evening, our entire section had only our table remaining, yet we were still waiting long periods of time whenever we needed assistance. Another issue was the automatic gratuity policy. Before visiting, we checked the restaurant's website, which stated that a service fee is automatically added for parties of 6 or more. However, the printed menu at the restaurant stated that it applies to parties of 5 or more, which we did not notice at the time. Since we were not satisfied with the service, we had planned to leave only a small tip. Instead, we later realized that an 18% gratuity had already been added to the bill. While this was ultimately our mistake for not noticing the policy in the menu, it was still an unpleasant surprise, especially considering the level of service we received. The food and atmosphere were still good, but overall this was by far the weakest experience I've had here. I've enjoyed my previous visits, which is why this experience stood out so much. Unfortunately, it did not feel like the level of service we expected for a birthday celebration.

Such is the case with Heavy Handed, which debuted as a backyard pop-up just before the shutdown. Heavy Handed distinguishes itself on the basis of its short rib burger base and meme-filled marketing. Heavy Handed transitioned to a food truck in 2021 and now operates two brick-and-mortar locations across LA (this Silver Lake location just closed its doors). The Silver Lake outpost took over the space of beloved diner All Day Baby on a bustling strip of Sunset. The exterior combined HH's signature sunset-orange color palette with psychedelic, LA- and burger-themed murals designed by local artist DJ Neff. The spacious dining room was warmly lit by a red neon strip running the length of the ceiling. Seating options ranged from upholstered half-booths to standard wooden tables and chairs to the bar counter around the corner. Classic rock echoed around the room. My partner and I visited for weekend lunch. We ordered immediately, and our food was available within minutes. We opted to split a Double Short Rib Burger. Immediately, I was impressed by the crispy, slightly charred edges around the circumference. Meanwhile, the center bites were addictively rich and juicy. The thick-cut pickles added a vinegary snap, while the diced onions were caramelized to a jam-like consistency. The service was friendly and efficient. At first, we raised our eyebrows at the $13 pricetag, but we were satisfied with the generous portion and delicious taste. In a busy, burger-heavy neighborhood (including wildly popular peer smash burgers at The Win-Down and Goldburger), this was our favorite one.
