The first time I tried this, it was very sweet (like juice), which my sister is a big fan of sweet things. It took about 15 minutes for these donuts to be made after we ordered them. The donuts were nice and hot when they were ready. So with the four of us, we ended up trying all of the donuts. I think the strawberry and pandan ended up being my favorite. But I did like the black sesame and matcha. The honeydew sugar was good and the churro was also good too. --------------------------- (Total= $17.77 after tax) We came in this past Sunday, around 7 pm. There was no one in line but a few people sitting, waiting for their order. The place itself is fairly small and there is outdoor seating. There is a unisex restroom, but was not available for public use (a sign posted on the door to inform customers). Service was find and wait time was not that long (but do understand that they are making the donuts fresh so I knew there would be a wait). I love coming here for a snack! There is such a wide variety of foods, drinks, and desserts at this cafe, along with a cute and quiet interior, so it's a great place to come with friends. There is some seating both outside and inside which usually doesn't get too crowded. The store is located in a popular complex so the parking lot gets pretty crowded at times. The mochi donuts are made fresh! They are best the same day but I wanted to bring them into work and it turns out that they are pretty good even after sitting overnight. Of course you want to warm them up the next day. Unfortunately you have to buy 4 donuts at a time but is that really a bad thing? I think they are my fav baked item from Le Creme. I've tried the egg waffles, the beignets and the malasadas. All are made fresh and are pretty good individually. They have popcorn chicken as well as other drinks which I see a lot of people order and these items are also on my list of things to eventually try. Fortunately for me I live close by. After some good Hue, we decided to get dessert. Le Creme was introduced. I saw they had Malasadas and it instantly took me back to Leonards in Hawaii. I wanted a piece of that. Unfortunately the malasadas here did not live up to its predecessors. It wasnt fried or baked crunchy, it was soft on the outside, like a slightly heated costco croissant with filling. The guava was a bit too sour and didnt really have a guava taste. But this place's mochi donuts ARE actually really good and would come back for them. The Ube flavor was the only one that didnt really taste like its flavor. The Honeydew sugar and cookies and creme were very good and tasted correct. I think this place is decent, but nothing outstanding. I've gotten the mochi donuts here a few times when I'm in the area. Their mochi donuts are almost the same price as Modo's (Modo's is slightly cheaper). I think Modo's is definitely better, but this is a preference. The mochi donuts here are more bread, less glazing. I like glazing, so it's a bit sad that the reduced glazing also mostly ends up on the top cover of the box since the box is quite flat. This is more of a "me" problem, but also when I bit into the Fruity Pebble mochi donut, it cut the roof of my mouth...so be careful! There's a smoothie called the PMS that my mom likes. I know it stands for "Peach, Mango, Strawberry," but I still thought it was kind of humorously ironic since you should avoid cold things around that period lol (or at least I do). This drink requires a lot of mixing on your part. 5 minutes after it was made, the layers started separating, which I didn't think looked too pleasing. Over time, I've tried mochi donuts from other places but I've always came back to Le Creme because I think they have the best mochi donuts in the Bay Area. I'll usually pick up a dozen or so when I visit my boyfriends family or when I'm going to a get together, potlucks, etc. and they NEVER disappoint. Even my boyfriend's family says they prefer these over other mochi donuts they've tried and I'm sure they're not just saying that because I'm his gf lol. The donuts were pleasantly warm, crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Each flavor tasted how it should. I was surprised that the matcha had a strong matcha flavor whereas the black sesame was very light. I expected the opposite, but the flavors just worked! The churro tastes exactly like a churro and the sugar donut tasted kind of like a funnel cake or a churro without cinnamon. Overall the quality was very good and the price is very affordable.
