Mochi donuts and lots of them, please! I was on the hunt for a place that sold all of the flavors my family generally would eat like cookies & cream, fruity pebbles, black sesame, ube, etc. I leaned on good ole trusty Yelp to guide me to the best place that would meet my expectations and Le Creme was it. There were the flavors I mentioned above and then some. I called ahead to ask for pricing since most of the Yelp photos were outdated from years ago and of course, prices then are nowhere near the same as now. For one dozen mochi donuts, it'll set you back roughly $39 (including taxes). I ended up getting 10 mochi donuts (flavored with cookies & cream, ube, fruity pebbles, strawberry, and churro). The donuts only took 10 minutes to cook fresh to order. Cookies & cream and fruity pebbles were easily my fave of the bunch. The donuts are soft, chewy, and I would say slightly more dense than other places (but not in a bad way). I look forward to coming back here again for my mochi donut needs!
La crème is a guilty pleasure of mine. They make sweet pastries and have a variety of drink options. Transparently, I haven't tried their milk tea but i love their mochi funds and smoothie! My friends really like their fried food as well.
Le Creme is located in the Paloma Plaza where parking can be a nightmare during peak hours, especially on weekends. A small place with a few inside tables to sit at. The service was friendly and helpful. Strawberry Matcha (4/5). I added lychee jelly. Good strawberry puree with a strong matcha flavor. Vanilla Bean Malasada (3/5) - I was hoping this would have been warm but it wasn't. The sugary dough was fluffy and vanilla filling was tasty but skimpy. I'll be back to try other items from their menu.
I've been craving malasadas and when I walked in and saw it, I had to get it! There are so many fresh options to choose from. Whether you just like it dusted with sugar or filled some yummy creamy flavor, they got you. My wife and I thought it tasted pretty good. Like Leonards..maybe not, but it definitely hit the spot with the warm, pillowy, eggy, donut with a delicate, slightly crisp interior. We also got some beignets too to bring us back to New Orleans, but I felt that it was just okay. This place has a yuggge menu of street food, drinks, and so many viral and trendy dessert snack options. Whatever you're in the mood for, they will have it and you can come here and it will conveniently have everything you want.
Ordered ahead online Came to pick up after receiving the "order isready" text and they said it's not ready yet and need to wait another 7 minutes. 10 minutes later we check and they said oh...they gave it to the wrong person and we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. Did I mention the boss lady was unapologetic about it and the food came out cold.
Went to this cafe randomly on a day we were craving some cafe food. The ambiance was cozy and cute. Service was super quick. We went on a weekday late noon. Ordered: - Milk Tea with Boba: 4/5 -- I liked that the owner let us try the sweetness level beforehand since it was our first time there. My 4 yr old kid loved it. - Taro Milk Tea: 3/5 -- It was average in taste. - Garlic Fries: 3/5 -- They ensured they answered all queries related to the oil used and clarified that they use regular vegetable oil for these fries. Tasted good. We will be back to try other items on the menu!
Been going here for a while and came this time to grab something to eat while waiting for my drink at Izumi. Ube malasada (5/5): This was made to order so it was piping hot and fluffy. The Ube wasn't as strong but still flavorful. Still one of my favorite places to grab dessert.
So my family and I have been coming to Le Crème for years. We have enjoyed the drinks and really love the mochi doughnuts since they make it fresh and usually warm and very delicious. As for their customer service they've been just there not so welcoming. Well today June 20th around 8ish I ordered 3 drinks and regular 4 pack mochi doughnuts. Well my daughter's drink had a hair in it. . She didn't notice till half way when she swirled her drink cause it had cream. (Usually the girls working there have their hair down or loosely tied back. I rather have them tightly back with headband) So for further ordering I'll stick to the doughnuts unless my next order has a problem.
I tried Le Crème Cafe and had mixed feelings. Mango Swirl: I chose 75% sweetness, but it was still too sweet for my taste. I prefer a slightly sour flavor, so next time I would choose 50%. The texture felt like a minced mixture between a smoothie and jam. My son picked this item, but honestly, it didn't really stand out. Ice Cream with Egg Puff: This was the highlight. The chocolate ice cream was rich and tempting--hard to resist. We finished it completely. The quality of the ice cream felt high-end, and the egg puff was crunchy on the outside. Every bite was satisfying. Service & Wait Time: I deducted a star mainly because of the service. The wait time for the egg puff was not communicated clearly. I ordered at 4:35 PM and received it at 4:50 PM, which was a 15-minute wait. That's fine if explained, but it wasn't mentioned at all. Also, the staff did not smile or show much friendliness. Customer service does not seem to be a focus here. Overall, the food quality is good, but with better communication and a warmer attitude, the experience could be much better.
The best mochi donuts in SJ!!! The donuts are sooo fresh that the coating on top is still warm. I've been coming here for mochi donuts for years and they never disappoint. It took them about 6-10 minutes to make a dozen mochi donuts. The service is friendly and fast. The shop is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend giving this spot a try!!
Le Creme: 3.5 stars! I came here today (Thursday) around 6:20pm because I wanted a sweet treat. My friend and I saw that they had a new drink which was the banana matcha latte! There's plenty of tables and chairs indoors to hang out! We got the banana matcha latte, beignets with condensed milk, and the strawberry banana with nutella crepe with strawberry ice cream. The banana matcha latte wasn't tasty at all, the matcha was not good and the banana flavor was very light. I like the strawberry ice cream crepe! Definitely will stick to my regular drinks which is the caramel snow and strawberry milk tea with jelly stars!
WOW WOW WOW!! This local boba shop is great. The owners are so incredibly kind and helpful. The inside is so incredibly cute as well. They have a wide variety of different drinks and snacks! Perfect to come with friends because there is soooo much variety!
Had their Jasmine milk tea and a malasada. The Jasmine was super watered down and the tea flavor wasn't there at all. On top of that, not a great boba texture. Kinda typical for a dessert place that isn't really a boba spot. The malasada was good but a bit pricey

Never tried a mochi donut before and tried it here at Le Creme in San Jose. Loved it! You can't order just one, you have to order a minimum of 4 at least. I just wanted one but the universe told me that 4 will be a happy treat and it definitely was! I never expected it to be fresh and warm, totally worth the wait, the dang service was on point! I regret not ordering a dozen because we don't have mochi donuts here in Reno. When I get my chance to visit Cali I definitely want to try other places that serves mochi donuts. I'm a Krispy Kreme soul but this version is winning my heart. It has a bit of gummy texture and like how I like my donuts, soft. read more
Stopped by here after having dinner in the same plaza because the malasadas piqued my interest. Once I stepped foot inside the store, I realized that there were so many other options they had!!! However, I didn't want to inconvenience the workers right before closing, so I got what I came for and I purchased a guava filled and vanilla bean filled malasada. The vanilla bean one was delicious and the texture of the cream is great, I gave the guava one to my friend and he stated that the flavor wasn't very pronounced and tasted somewhat artificial. I'd totally come back here for one of their mochi donuts or slushies, they have SO MANY flavors. There's something for everyone. There's lots of indoor seating too, plenty of teenagers were in there chatting over their sweet treats. read more

I got their strawberry jade green tea a couple of times here, and it tastes different every time. The first time I tried this, it was very sweet (like juice), which my sister is a big fan of sweet things. There are also times where they don't really add the fruit toppings directly on top of the drinks when it should be. Today, I ordered it again, and it taste very tea like and not the usual sweet juice flavor, so I don't really know what's going on. I also order a lychee smoothie which hits the spot every time. I noticed not many boba shops have lychee smoothies as one of their drinks selection, which is kinda sad cause lychee is one of my favs flavor. read more

Went for their mochi donuts. Their mochi donuts are made to order and freshly fried. Had mochi donuts before but never, never THIS fresh! Soooo good! Devoured all of them all at once. Our favorite flavor is sesame. Service was quick. Staff were friendly. There are 2 or 3 tables for dining in. Will come back for this 11 out of 10 mochi donuts. read more
Le Creme is located in a plaza with other Asian businesses that include Happy Lemon, Hoa Dang and Thien Long. Since my husband and I were going to visit his cousin and her husband, I wanted to make sure we brought some dessert (you should never come empty handed to someone's house, especially if it is family). I ended up finding Le Creme on Yelp and picked them since they were open and figured mochi donuts would be a good choice. We ordered: 6 mochi donuts, $16.25 prior to tax- We picked honeydew sugar, churro, black sesame, strawberry, pandan and matcha. It took about 15 minutes for these donuts to be made after we ordered them. The donuts were nice and hot when they were ready. So with the four of us, we ended up trying all of the donuts. I think the strawberry and pandan ended up being my favorite. But I did like the black sesame and matcha. The honeydew sugar was good and the churro was also good too. --------------------------- (Total= $17.77 after tax) We came in this past Sunday, around 7 pm. There was no one in line but a few people sitting, waiting for their order. The place itself is fairly small and there is outdoor seating. There is a unisex restroom, but was not available for public use (a sign posted on the door to inform customers). Service was find and wait time was not that long (but do understand that they are making the donuts fresh so I knew there would be a wait). My husband's cousin and her husband liked the donuts and so did my husband and I. Overall, we had a positive experience and would love to come back to try the many other items that are listed on their menu in the future. read more

I haven't been to this shop in a few years and to my surprise it was still as wonderful! I ordered the nutella crepe and it looked amazing. Exactly the type of sweet treat I was searching for after a long day of work. I love coming here for a snack! There is such a wide variety of foods, drinks, and desserts at this cafe, along with a cute and quiet interior, so it's a great place to come with friends. There is some seating both outside and inside which usually doesn't get too crowded. The store is located in a popular complex so the parking lot gets pretty crowded at times. Unlike other places I've been to, the mochi donuts are fried to order so they come out super fresh! Outside of the donuts, my favorite thing to get here is some type of smoothie/tea with boba along with a side of popcorn chicken (which you can choose the spice level/dipping sauce for). read more
Drinks: my boyfriend and I love their yogurt drinks. He always get the plain flavor and I always get the mango ones. It's sweet but not overly sweet. It's nice, creamy, and icy. The price is also not too bad, the same as a typical cup of boba. The service: The service is quick and easy. Cashiers were nice to me my first time there, and helped recommend which drinks were their most popular. Ambiance: it is quite and small inside. It's located in a plaza on silver creek road. Good luck finding parking because there is always almost nearly, no parking at all. You have to make a few rounds or park far and walk. read more

I usually come here when I feel like snacking! Also, it's one of the places that have mochi donuts!! And they're pretty good. I usually get the matcha flavor, that's my absolute favorite. I take chocolate ones too! I have also tried their fried calamari and garlic fries that's pretty great! It's a small space but has good enough seating inside and a few outdoor as well. There's a few minutes wait time cuz they make your food fresh. They're also known for their boba teas and is a must try! read more

This place deserves 3.5 stars. The yogurt smoothie was decent and the matcha ice cream was good but the appetizers was so dry and flavorless. I got the fried gizzards and fried squid. I love gizzard and especially spicy cajun! When I go to the east coast or Louisiana it's fantastic there! This place lacked spice and that cajun kick! The milk tea was milk tea like any other place. My 2 qualms is that the place was so hot inside. Air condition would be sweet! And they charge 90c for ranch!!!!! Ewww Lol. Although the cashier was very nice. read more

After some good Hue, we decided to get dessert. Le Creme was introduced. I saw they had Malasadas and it instantly took me back to Leonards in Hawaii. I wanted a piece of that. Unfortunately the malasadas here did not live up to its predecessors. It wasnt fried or baked crunchy, it was soft on the outside, like a slightly heated costco croissant with filling. The guava was a bit too sour and didnt really have a guava taste. But this place's mochi donuts ARE actually really good and would come back for them. The Ube flavor was the only one that didnt really taste like its flavor. The Honeydew sugar and cookies and creme were very good and tasted correct. I feel the Ube flavor is just purple cake frosting... Will be back =) read more
The mochi donuts are made fresh! They are best the same day but I wanted to bring them into work and it turns out that they are pretty good even after sitting overnight. Of course you want to warm them up the next day. Unfortunately you have to buy 4 donuts at a time but is that really a bad thing? I think they are my fav baked item from Le Creme. I've tried the egg waffles, the beignets and the malasadas. All are made fresh and are pretty good individually. They have popcorn chicken as well as other drinks which I see a lot of people order and these items are also on my list of things to eventually try. Fortunately for me I live close by. Parking can be tight at times but overall I think the mochi donuts are worth the visit. They've got a variety of flavors for the donuts as well. There are a few tables for dining in and I usually relax and enjoy my baked good before I leave. Worth a visit! read more

We got the Mochi donuts and our order came out hot & fresh! The glaze was basically dripping of the donuts. The warm bite was truly heavenly and the flavors weren't too sweet. The inside was light and fluffy, making this the perfect treat! Staff was helpful and fast :) Will be back! read more
I think this place is decent, but nothing outstanding. I've gotten the mochi donuts here a few times when I'm in the area. Their mochi donuts are almost the same price as Modo's (Modo's is slightly cheaper). I think Modo's is definitely better, but this is a preference. The mochi donuts here are more bread, less glazing. I like glazing, so it's a bit sad that the reduced glazing also mostly ends up on the top cover of the box since the box is quite flat. This is more of a "me" problem, but also when I bit into the Fruity Pebble mochi donut, it cut the roof of my mouth...so be careful! There's a smoothie called the PMS that my mom likes. I know it stands for "Peach, Mango, Strawberry," but I still thought it was kind of humorously ironic since you should avoid cold things around that period lol (or at least I do). This drink requires a lot of mixing on your part. 5 minutes after it was made, the layers started separating, which I didn't think looked too pleasing. I heard their crepes are great, so I'll need to try those out! read more
Went here for dessert and they were pretty good! I got the malasada filled with chocolate and it was a good portion and flavor! Service here was nice, friendly and fast. Only downside of this spot is that there is limited seating indoors and outdoors and the parking is okay. I like the convenience because it is located nearby good food places and by the local target. read more
This is one of my family's favorite places to get dessert in east San Jose, particularly for the Mochi donuts! The smallest order you can get is four donuts for $10. They have an assortment of flavors (matcha, black sesame, cookies and cream, fruity pebbles, etc.) There are a lot of mochi donut places in the Bay and I will say this place is probably my favorite. The texture is very soft, chewy, and fresh. Not stale and hard like some other places. Plus, the flavors here are really good and strong. Last I came on a Sunday evening and there was no line. Service is quick and plenty of parking as it is located in an Asian plaza. They also sell literally all types of dessert here (boba, ice cream, egg puffs, you name it). They also have malasadas! But based on other reviews they seem to be just ok. read more

Disclaimer : This review is solely based on their Mochi donuts! And I believe the biased 4 stars clearly indicate my love for Mochi donuts. Typically they take ~10 mins to make a fresh batch and I wouldn't have it any other way. Give yourself ample amount of time as they only accept walkins for these. Donuts are served fresh and warm plus that amazing glaze does nothing but make it better and of course sweeter. Personal favorites include the Black Sesame and Oreo. Also I read somewhere - Mochi donuts have half the calories than a regular donut...Don't know how far that's true but that means I could eat double the donuts right? Unique dessert. This is exactly how I like my mochi donuts - hot and made to order! Stopped by while my car was being worked on and the smell inside was *droooooling* Ordered a variety of mochi donuts and they came out fresh and hot in less than 10 minutes. The taste was delectable and chewy. I was surprised that the dough had this unique flavor to it (different than Mochill and Mochinut). They also had plenty other savory treats and drinks on the menu. I visited this place for the first time specifically for their mochi donuts and I haven't gone elsewhere LOL. Their donuts are perfectly fried and coated with the flavor of your choice they don't get soggy after sitting in the box for awhile which is a plus for me. Their other snacks like the calamari are tasty too, I recommend this shop to get your mochi donut fix! My favorite flavor is the black sesame. read more

If you haven't tried Le Creme Cafe, you need to go there and get their mochi donut. Available flavors: Matcha, Pandan, Black sesame, Fruity pebbles, Cookie n cream, Honeydew sugar plus other flavors. Like always, my all time favorites are the matcha and black sesame. The pandan did not meet my expectation. It was not creamy enough and more on the gel texture side. The mochi donut itself was fluffy, airy and chewy. The best thing is the donuts are made fresh to order. You save more when you buy 6 or 12 donuts. Don't forget to check out their snack and entrée. read more

I love coming here for a sweet treat. They have a wide range of savory and sweet treats to grab. There is a kiosk for self-ordering. I've come here a couple times - each time, the wait for the treats was on the longer side because it always comes out fresh so make sure you have some time to chill. The workers will always tell you an estimated time of how long you might have to wait. read more
I remember when the mochi donut was popping off in the food market. Le Creme also offers a great selection of flavors from cookies and cream, fruity pebbles, pandan, and more. They're super soft and chewy without feeling too heavy/sugary as donuts can normally be. Each bite is a delight and I love that the shape makes it easy to share with others! For 6 pieces, it was about $18. read more
I first went to Le Creme with my friends several years ago to hang out/catch up & they introduced me to the mochi donuts here and they were so amazing, fresh out of the oven. I was blown away. Over time, I've tried mochi donuts from other places but I've always came back to Le Creme because I think they have the best mochi donuts in the Bay Area. I'll usually pick up a dozen or so when I visit my boyfriends family or when I'm going to a get together, potlucks, etc. and they NEVER disappoint. Even my boyfriend's family says they prefer these over other mochi donuts they've tried and I'm sure they're not just saying that because I'm his gf lol. I most recently placed an order of 24 mochi donuts for my nieces birthday party and they were gone WITHIN THE HOUR. I realized I never wrote a review for this place and they really deserve one. The service is very quick and the staff are super nice. Le Creme has a special place in my heart and they'll always be my go to for mochi donuts, hands down. read more

These are without a doubt the best mochi donuts I have ever had. My friend introduced me to this place and I am in love!! This will definitely be a must visit every time I'm in the area. Their mochi donuts are made to order, so we waited about 10 minutes for our order to be completed. It was worth the wait!! The donuts have the perfect texture. They're hot & fresh, slightly crispy on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside, and the glaze on top is perfect!! You can really taste the flavor of the glaze & the texture of everything is delicious. It was good to eat right there on the spot, and it also traveled well. I had one when I was there and also had one later at home and they were both great. Whether or not you're a fan of mochi donuts, I highly recommend checking this place out!!!!!!! read more
I found out about this place awhile ago and wanted to try all the mochi donut places I can find. I stopped by here to grab a few after breakfast and it didn't disappoint! I had 6 different flavors. Cookies and cream- Spot on flavor. Essentially tasted just like an oreo but in mochi form. Pandan- This one was my brother's pick out of the 6th. The flavor was hittin' and pandan essence was definitely there. Fruity Pebbles- This was my pick. Can honest never go wrong with fruity pebbles felt like I was eating an entire bowl right there on the spot. Matcha- This one is in my top 3 for sure. Matcha was aromatic and definitely was not missing a step on flavor. Churro- This flavor was okay. Tasted like a churro but had that stickier, chewier texture. Black sesame- This one is probably my second pick, for some reason the sesame one tasted creamy and I honestly have nothing bad to say about it! Overall solid spot to try mochi donuts, they have malasadas as well and egg puff waffles. This place is very similar to Mochiholic in my opinion. Rating - 4 Stars In terms of texture, mochi donuts were as expected--light crisp and slight chew. In comparison to MoDo and Mochill, I think Le Creme's had the most chew (relatively speaking) and bits of it were not as uniformly crisp. The glaze was also slightly thicker/more set (which I find to be a good thing cause it means less mess). But honestly, differences are pretty minute and not that noticeable unless you do a side-by-side comparison. In terms of flavor: PANDAN - Easily the best of what I had with a very strong pandan taste. Better than MoDo's I would say. MATCHA - Also good flavor with no bitterness. Wouldn't go wrong here either. HONEYDEW SUGAR - Flavor is way too artificial tasting. Also not sure if it's cause this was sugar vs. glazed, but I found it to be kinda plain. This flavor is definitely a hard pass for me. MoDo is still king for me, but if you find yourself near East SJ with a mochi donut craving, Le Creme will satisfy! read more

You have to try Le Creme Cafe if you want to experience the freshest mochi donuts! The donuts are hot, tasty, and not oily. They also have a variety of flavors which they rotate from day to day. If you don't want to wait in line, you can order from their website. I ordered the half a dozen of mochi donuts for only $12! I got these flavors: black sesame, chocolate, matcha, fruity pebble, strawberry, and cookies and cream. My favorite were the chocolate and black sesame mochi donuts. I am not even a big fan of chocolate but the chocolate was not too overwhelmingly sweet! It was perfect! The black sesame tasted nutty, rich, and roasted with a hint of sweet. Chef's kiss. The strawberry and matcha were also delicious. My least favorite were the fruity pebbles and the cookies and cream only because they were more on the sweeter side. read more

COVID-19 TAKEOUT The times I've eaten at this plaza, I told myself..."Ok, today IS the day I'll finally try Le Crème Cafe's mochi donuts!" Then, I order for the entire football team and their side chicks during lunch so eating donuts afterwards is a no go. But, now it's COVID times, zero effs given with 'em thunder thighs. No matter what happens at lunch over the weekend, I was getting mochi donuts at Le Crème Cafe. Currently, they're offering takeout only. Order in-person or on their website via toast. No dine-in. No outdoor seating. C O V I D - 1 9 S A F E T Y P R E C A U T I O N S * Staff wore masks properly. * Limited capacity: one customer allowed inside at a time. * Plexi-glass barrier at the register with microphone for ordering. * After ordering, you wait outside for your number to be called on the speaker. Pick-up is at the side door that's also outfitted with plexi-glass. * Hand sanitizer available. Kudos to the staff for their great covid safe set-up! M Y O R D E R * Mochi Donuts: Strawberry (2), Cookies 'N Cream, Ube, Black Sesame, Fruity Pebbles ($2 each) After reading rave reviews saying, Le Crème Cafe's mochi donuts are on par with MoDo, some even saying they're better....expectations were high. Maybe I visited on an off day but I thought the mochi donuts were mediocre and not comparable to MoDo. ***Temperature: When I was handed the box, I noticed there was no warmth. They're supposed to be made-to-order so it was disappointing that the donuts were room temperature. ***Texture: Lightly crisp on the outside but compared to MoDo and Mochill, they're denser. The real bummer is they didn't have that airy, stretchy "QQ" chew. ***Flavor: The best of the bunch was the Fruity Pebbles because it had a crunchy texture contrast. Least fav was the Strawberry because the thin glaze had melted off. * Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, 50% sweet ($4.65) Milky, not too sweet, but very weak tea flavor. It was like drinking sweetened iced milk. * Strawberry Lemonade Tea, 50% sweet ($4.85) Tasted like fruit punch; very artificial and syrupy tasting. Unbearably sweet. I hate wasting food/drinks but we tossed our drinks and went to Sunright afterwards. S E R V I C E Friendly, upbeat, and prompt. No line when I visited on a Saturday around 11:15 am. I wish I could give more than 3 stars to Le Crème Cafe but it was a very disappointing experience. I was wondering do you not take Togo order? Every time I call it's like no we can't take orders or can't pay over the phone. One day is ok I can take cc over the phone. So what is it. Plus the girl that answer the phone can be any rudder. 🖕🏻
In my experiences, they used to take to-go orders but they don't do it anymore. They don't let people order ahead of time anymore as well. Hope that helps!
