Not impressed. The shop is cramped and a bit outdated. It certainly doesn't look like the pictures posted! It is hard for employees to speak as you enter b/c half of their backs face the door. A cluttered counter blocks the right side and customer chairs are to the left and right in front of you. There's a dark, creepy office behind the cluttered counter. I assume it was the owner who sat watching tv, a computer, or watching every employee's movement through the over-abundance of video cameras. Lol! Nail polish bottles look old. They are hard to access as they are randomly placed. There's a small rack on the back and side walls. A spa chair and nail table blocked the back so I couldn't reaxh that wall. I had to maneuver around more nail tables and a customer as he sat being serviced. Ridiculous! My pedicure = thumbs down. The technician smiled, asked if I wanted the bottom of my feet scrubbed, then wrapped one with callus remover lotion and seran wrap. No biggie. I can pay the extra few dollars. But playing dumb when you speak English well doesn't work for me! One toe was sloppily painted. I asked the technician to fix it. Instead of removing the streaky polish and starting over, she added more layers. While waiting, an African-American man finished getting a manicure and paid his bill. He was very respectful and well dressed. The ladies couldn't wait for him to walk past the threshold before they spoke thwir language and laughed. Hard! Me and another young lady looked at each other while I shook my head. I'm sure this is common practice for many technicians, even while customers are present. When it's obvious, though, I will not continue to give a business my money. The owner(?) was friendly as I paid my bill. Decided to check this place based off the reviews and here are my thoughts: Fortunately when I arrived, a nail tech was available so I didn't have to wait :) for a gel manicure and non-gel pedicure its $35, great deal! I kept seeing reviews that they take their time working on your nails which I really appreciate ...but didn't quite feel I got the same. Don't get me wrong, the lady I had was very friendly and welcoming and my nails came out nice but I wish I could of had my hands and legs massaged with the lotion a bit longer....or at least the standard...cause I'm sure that's all what we look forward too! It was really quick and the lotion wasn't fully absorbed into my skin yet. The nail salon is in the same plaza as H.Salt fish n chips on the corner of carson and Dolores street. It's a tiny plaza so beware parking is very limited. They accept reservations, but not same-day reservations so if doing a walk-in, would suggest going first thing in morning and during the week when others are still at work...that's what I did! I have been coming to Leahs shop for about 7 years and it never disappoints. I always love my nails no matter who does them.

I was visiting my daughter and we both needed a pedicure. We were able to walk into this little shop and only wait 15 minutes or so. They have a soothing sound of birds chirping in the background that makes you feel like you're sitting poolside near the garden. The staff was very friendly and super detailed with the pedicure. They both took their time in a good way triple checking to clean up the edges etc. Little things like making sure to keep my massage chair going, a nice citrusy leg/foot scrub followed by a relaxing 10 minute calf/foot massage. The massage is extra but worth it. My toes are lookin' cute and ready to hit the beach. I'll be back when I come to visit my daughter again. Thanks ladies. read more

Really sad to have to stop coming here. The work is good Nails last long and if you suffer from in grown nails they are amazing for that at Leah's! However this is the third time I come in excited to do my nails and they tell me to come back. I understand the second time I came in at 4 and she had people waiting to do their nails. I was told to come back the next and however much I love the work it is not worth coming back twice a week and waiting specially if they don't offer appointments. The wait can be so long! Today I came in at 1 14 pm and was told there's two people ahead of me for a full set. To get my pedicure done first. Okay fine I'll wait like I said that's normal here. I'm done with my pedicure at 3 today and I'm told to come back AGAIN. Apparently she has an appointment at 4 like that would've been good to know beforehand to not be excited about getting my nails done. However much I love their work here it is not worth being here over 5 hours for a pedicure and full set. They don't even do designs for it to be so long. Oh and appointments?? When did this begin?? I don't know if it's because Leah's hasn't been here both of the last two times I've been here since July 5th but who knows. Nevertheless I hope to find a salon as good as Leah's where the nails last long and they do a good job with ingrowns. This is a conflicting review. They do a great job, in particular for their price point. They don't do anything crazy or fancy, but they do a good job at giving you a good manicure and getting the gel on just right. My conflict is the wait time. There is no real reservation system other than writing your name in a book and having them call you when ready. However that doesn't work because half the time they won't call you back. I get it they are small and busy but everyone values their time, so maybe find a better way of keeping track of people or just do straight walk ins you leave you lose your spot kind of thing. read more

They must be using expired gel or something like that because I'm on day 3 and the gel is already lifting off. It started coming off on day 2. This isn't a good look. They also don't have an extensive selection for gel colors... Anyway, here's my experience I call at 12:00 to make a reservation. I am told by the gentleman that they don't take reservations over the phone and I must come in. I come and sign up to get my nails done. I am told the wait will be one hour, so I decide to leave and come back. The guy says he'll call me in 1 hour which is fine. One hour passes... no call, so I head back. I check back in. I'm wait. I'm waiting. It's not 2:45pm...WTF is going on. I ask for an update on my reservation and the guy says I don't have one. I'm confused... my name is on the paper. I look at the paper and see names below my scratched off. So I'm in the spot now thinking to myself, 'Yooo did this douchbag forget that he didn't allow me to set a phone reservation, I came in and signed up in front of his face, he said he would call and didn't & THEN forgets call me for my slot??? Uhhh the incompetence.' He's also just sitting and taking up space so it's not even efficient. Anyway, he tries to cover for me and say I'm next for a service I didn't request. I clarify by stating what I discussed with him and he shared that I'm next. At this point I believe he notices that my body language is like, 'I'm doneeeee." As I start to leave he says a technician is ready for me right away. Anyway, I'm with the technician and she's using her fingers instead of tools for my gel nails. I hate when technicians do that... I don't want your nails rubbing in between my nails... I could be paying my niece to do that level of work. As she's painting, I'm noticing unfinished portions so I have to correct her. She's now irritated that I am saying something about her subpar performance. If I can see that 3MM of my nails haven't been touched by paint, then the job is being performed at a below basic level to say the least. So she finishes my nails. It's Tuesday. I went in Saturday. The polish is already coming off. It was clearly old or her performance was just that bad. I felt compelled to write a review because there were so many misleading reviews. When I saw the bad reviews I assumed they were outliers, no this place is just crunchy and uncouth to say the least. Also, the technician might need glasses. Few weeks ago I went to get my acrylic nails removed because one was lifting and felt like the nail had been damaged. So I wanted a gel manicure to replace it because my nails had been growing for 3 months already. I am closer to this nail shop and called and asked before going there do they knew how to remove acrylics the more safer way and they said yes. So I went. When I got there I waited about 30 minutes which was fine, but when I was seated, the lady that began to do my nails started to just rip them off. Now the lady I normally get them done does my acrylics really well so they were on good and only 2 weeks old from the last time she filled them. But she no longer worked at the shop that I got them done at. I told the lady gently, and she kept ripping and clipping them off. I snatched my hands away almost crying and she laughed and pulled my hand back saying it's okay, and in my head I was like no it's not. Finally when she got them all off, 2 of my nails ended up being more damaged on the nail bed besides the one that was already messed up. She started to do the manicure and she poured the alcohol and I shrieked due to it burning my fingers, when I stuck my fingers in the UV light it felt like it was kerosene and a match, my fingers felt like they were on literal fire! After it was all over, I went to the counter to pay and the, I'm assuming manager/owner asked if everything was okay, I replied it was fine because I just wanted to leave and never come back. He said it seemed like you were having a rough time over there and we want to know if there is an issue so we can fix it. I explained to him how the nail technician just ripped my acrylics off and told him that when I called I was told that you guys did the acetone way off taking off acrylics, another technician rudely interrupted and said, "that's only for gel nails!" I said okay, but that's what I was told and then she ripped them off and usually if I have ever gotten acrylics taken off I have NEVER in my life had them ripped off that way. My hands hurt. He responded by telling me that I should know better because I should know acrylics are painful to take off, and he had just convinced a 12 year old a few days prior about getting acrylics because they hurt when they are removed. I felt insulted at this point. I asked to pay 1/2 on my card and 1/2 cash and he ended up putting all of the total ($30) on my card. Which means he can't even follow the simplest of instructions while scolding me of my decision to get acrylics which I have been giving for over 10 years now. I came to thy spot cause it was close to where I stay at mow and has wonderful reviews, but that was one of the worst experiences of acrylic removal, and customer service yet from a nail salon. To top it all off a day later the 3 layered nail polish that was put on my hands a couple were bubbled so they began to come off or crumble. I needed my nails looking okay for work and then my vacation. Needless to say they weren't. My nails have finally healed now (last week) from the damaged that was done from removing my acrylics like that. If your looking for cheap, bad service where the technicians treat you like a dollar sign instead of a paying customer and future client then by all means go here. Otherwise stay away from this place. First and last time. read more

I was the only customer & they had 6 women playing on their phones, they all looked at each other speaking their language and finally one girl says sit then the rest continued on their phones. I asked if I can have another work on my manicure and they said no only 1 worker for 1 customer. The lady working on me kept answering her phone and getting up. My point is my services should have not taken over 2hours especially when there were not any customers who walked in from the time I arrived until the time I left plus the time the manicurist took to keep answering her phone & stopping from working on me. so i really needed to get my nails done since one of my nails broke. it was definitely an emergency and while i am a regular at my other salon i wanted to see if i should try someone new.. i got loyalty to my nail tech but she's my only go to, but nonetheless i came here. Leah wow let me start off by saying she is super friendly and very professional i really enjoyed sitting with her and showing her what i wanted.. color and shape only she did the rest! that's when you know your in good hands.. shape was on point the color was a little lighter then i anticipated but i'm not complaining because it's only a shade off and i honestly like it.. i thought if it would be two coats it would be slightly darker but it's definitely perfect trust me nothing i'm complaining about at all!!! her staff seems very friendly the guy that took my call told me to rush over she had two people ahead of me which i thought well that isn't too bad but he truly knew better then me because i got there and the line just grew waiting for her... glad i took his advice and rushed over i waited about 1hr 45 min was worth it but glad to know monday - thursday i can make an appointment to see her and that's cool! what else okay so the parking sucks it's a small plaza next to a little food spot thinks it's h salt yeah anyway it's small lot so come early or park on the street it's all free anyway. her location is sort of small but has plenty of seats to wait because if you come on the weekend you will wait! time went by sort of quickly she is pretty fast with her nails but i felt that she did a good job.. i seen some people get a little massage with the lotion and what not i didn't get that for what reason idk but ehh what can you do. overall i would recommend this nail shop with leah in mind i am a first timer with the location and her so i can't say anything about anyone else i just know she said her staff are pretty good too, but like i told her it's names Leah's nail shop for a reason! and she laughed thanks again for my nails!!! happy future client read more

Denied me service because I asked for too many things. Really I was very picky about the nail designs and asked for the price upfront instead of the crazy charge at the end of the "service." But I was indecisive with the design I wanted and I guess that made Leah the owner ( her very words to me as she stopped the service after ripping my old nails off) who started the nail process immediately stop. She denied my service of taking the full set off she literally just put on because she stated she was too uncomfortable helping me. Weird reaction from her, but I get it, but I also am a person who is going through a lot and just wanted my nails to look cute. Unfortunately her demeanor in response to my asking which designs she could do bothered her enough to refuse any future services for me. She demanded $10 and yelled at me that I didn't pay as I was leaving but ole dude took my $10 and told her I paid as I walked out of LEAHS BUSINESS. Sad part is, my mother had a Mani/pedi appt. at the same time. So we both didn't get a service other than being told to leave the business. Made me feel like I was back in the south in 1959. And we had to go to another nail shop because Leah left me with glued nails and nothing else. I learned my lesson after dealing with you Leah. I was very disappointed with this place. In October on a Thursday I personally went to schedule an appt. for my friend & myself for the following day (Friday) & I wrote down my name & # as he requested. When we arrived the gentleman apologized & said Fridays are walk in only no appts. He said,"I realized that I made your appt but forgot it was for a Friday and I forgot to call you. He probably thought we would just show up & be ok with waiting w/o realizing we had other appts to get to. We left disappointed not upset just couldn't believe he couldn't have called. Luckily Hands & Feet Nails Spa could take us both right then. Ok so I thought to go back to give them another try by myself. I got there today & asked how long the wait was & same gentlemen said, "not too long at all" so I put my name down. My mistake was not to ask how long was, "not too long"? I waited 50 minutes then when I saw the next lady was ready to take me as I was next she ended up taking the customer who came in 3 ppl after me who wanted a full set. The gentleman came up to me & said you'll be next after one of the other 2 workers are done with their customers. I told him my mistake was not asking you how long was not too long for you. He looked at his book & did notice the time I got in, as you have to put in your name, time, & service, he then said, oh yes it's been a while but you'll be next. I didn't cause a scene I politely just got up & walked out. When I was in my car the gentleman was at my window advising me that they were ready for me however by this time I had already called my original place Hands & Feet Nail Spa & they were ready to take me. I did give this place a second change but again it didn't work out so I won't do a third. Besides they didn't have a whole variety of colors, it's also very cramped inside and watching them work 2 of the workers received calls and were talking on their phones while working on customers which is not right bc customers deserve 100% of their paying service.
