A big plus for me is that they open early when I need emergency Banh mi at 8 am. No other surrounding Banh mi places open as early as them. Even though it's a chain, you can see they make their bread in house and the spring rolls are fresh. I love nem nuong and can't pass up an opportunity to eat them, especially with that savory peanut sauce. They offer plenty of other food too, but I can only speak to the dishes I tried, in lauding the pate Chau. Flaky crust and the inside is what you'd expect it to be. Still wrapping my head around the price point though. Why is everything in Bay Area so expensive?

This is a review for only the Vietnamese iced coffee and pate chaud. When we see less sandwich, we always grab the Vietnamese ice coffee. It's strong, sweet delicious. It has a caramel flavor. I was just planning to just get the Vietnamese iced coffee, but I noticed that the pate chaud just came out and it was piping hot. The place seems small compared to other Lees sandwiches I've been to. I came around the time they opened up, so there weren't many prepared food. I was hoping they had the egg and spatula that I saw in previous reviews. Will I come again? Definitely.

Its amazing how can I describe it idk first of all bread is crispy and however its not dry, Its fantastic! How can almond and tuna taste so good together?

Service is good, courteous and they will cook you the hot items even it's an hour before closing, and we ordered beef stew with bread. The stew is flavorful though it's more like a soup than a stew. I like the menu and how many different kinds of Vietnamese food they offer! From small snacks to entree to desserts! Lunch time is much busier than dinner and I see Vietnamese customers. They also sell pre-packaged snacks and instant noodles in the store, kinda like a convenience store. Some of the spicy instant noodle brands they carry are interesting. There are pre-packaged food on the counter next to the cashier and we grabbed a few things to try. The sausage sticky rice is a bit dry, the bbq pork, chicken with egg on rice is ok but too much rice. The spring rolls combo are the best as there are three different varieties, shrimp, sausage and tofu skin in 3 separate rolls. The one with tofu skin is surprisingly good and it's our first time trying it! Cheap eat for sure and not many Lee's have indoor seating areas so comfortable. This one actually has a few tables that can even accommodate a few families.

Overall, 3.5 stars from me. I've gotten their "mini" grilled chicken combo (chips and a drink) and it was very filling for it being a mini. Bread is made in house (so many reviewers say) and it was definitely one of the best baguettes I've had for a banh mi sandwich! Now the filling is what brings my rating down ... between the pickled veggies and the meat, they were very dry and not flavorful. I was hoping for them to be a little more juicy but I was let down. They also were heavier on the cilantro than anything else and overall the filling was just sort of plopped into the bread. Fast service which explains the serving but that also is a good thing if you're coming for a quick bite. I also have tried their spring rolls, mixed meat (pork + shrimp) and was also not too impressed with them. Pork was bland but they did fill the roll pretty well so 2 was enough for me. Location has plenty of seating, very spacious. Business offers a lot of food options from their sandwiches to egg/spring rolls and more. They have little bento boxes to go and also have grocery items for purchase. Very convenient if in the area looking for a quick bite.

#11 Special Combination Banh Mi (Dac Biet)

Walked here from my hotel a few weeks ago hungover because I figured a coffee and sandwich would help. Everyone else was still out cold and I wasn't about to lay in bed all morning. It was sunny and miserable but not too far. Got the banh mi dac biet and a cafe sua da. Sandwich sliced up the roof of my mouth because I don't know how to chew my food, I think I also bit the inside of my cheek. It was good though, ate the whole thing and basically hit my calorie goal for the day before noon. Coffee was also bomb. Would come back if I was in the area and had to walk, otherwise I'd probably eat something else cuz I don't normally get banh mi anyways.

    Weird BBQ bland Pork..

I usually frequent Lee's for their sandwiches...I was feeling adventurous today and decided to try their special vermicelli bowl. I should have stuck to their banh mi's. The BBQ Pork Bun (vermicelli bowl) was a huge miss for me. The BBQ pork was bland. The fish sauce was bland. The texture and the BBQ pork was weird. It was a waste of $11.99 and wasn't even worth $1.99.

Because. Every time I get there I just cannot not order one of these. That loaded burrito is the best bar none breakfast burrito I have ever eaten. So on a scale of deliciousness, this is an epic winner. I switch between the pistachio and coconut late because it is, again, delicious. Not too sweet (I don't like too sweet), and with plenty of that flavor. So many times have I ordered a coconut latte at other places to only have the slightest hint of coconut. Not here, no sir, these Lattes are truly flavored and flavored well. Easy parking. Open early, so I don't have to wait till nearly noon for breakfast, is just the icing on this cake. What a fantastic sandwich shop and drinks bar. I honestly thought I had written a review, so was surprised that I had not, so here it is. The place is clean. Large windows in the front for natural light. Quiet and calm. The seating is convenient and easy, although, and it's probably just me, but, my knees struggle for comfortable sitting since the table legs are in the middle of the table, so I tend to have to sit sideways, but, that's really not an issue since I'm not sitting there for hours. Love this place, we feel lucky to have this available to use on the weekend mornings to get a great start to the day.

And at the same time, the flavors were not really there for me. I got the chipotle chicken and the chicken itself was not the best cut of chicken because you still have a lot of tendon in there and fat so you can tell it's cheaper cuts and not like the chicken breast. Inside was clean and nice. It was not busy at all when I went and that was surprising for a lunchtime during the week. Ultimately, I ended up reading it lower because paying about $18 for a sandwich that was average.

Piri piri chicken bow ($15)l- Chicken was ok. Got a nice lil grill but could be more tender. I think it's breast tho so prob healthier. The rest of the bowl included purple rice, some greens, tomatoes, pickled veggies. All in all it was a solid bowl. The orange sauce on top looked promising not it was a lil bland. The cool part is that they have a pretty large list of free condiments. I tried the sweet chili aoili, charred jalapeno aioli, and the Meyer lemon aioli. Both were great as extra sauces in the chicken bowl. Overall, pretty solid spot and they got a decent selection of beers with their inhouse beers only goin for 7 bux! Customers usually come in, grab what they need, pay, and head out, which keeps things moving smoothly. One of the best things about this bakery is the incredible variety of pastries and breads. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, there's plenty to choose from: melon pan, loaf bread, dinner rolls, chow mein bread, spaghetti bread, sweet potato bread, crab and roe bread, tomato bread, apple pie, and so much more. Don't skip the refrigerated section either! They carry fruit sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, fried bread, donuts, somen noodles in a cup, and other delicious grab-and-go items. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a small Japanese-style bakery and café that feels like the kind of…read moreneighborhood spot you randomly discover and keep coming back to. We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.
